Hinata didn't know what was worst. Having people staring at her because she was a new face in the school or having her father accompany her which caught even more attention?
She let out a discreet sigh and held onto her bag tighter before lowering her head a little to hide a flushed face from the other student.
Did her father really need to come today?
Apparently yes because he wanted to make sure that the school deserved its reputation.
"Hinata." His voice snapped her out of her thoughts as she looked up at him. "The Uchiha son, the Namikaze son, the Sabaku children and others are all here." He said. "You need to be more confident and not show them any lack of self-confident. You will not shame our name in front of those people."
"Yes Fahter."
"That's all I want from you. Respect yourself and our name and keep your grades up." He said placing a hand on her back.
She nodded. "Yes father."
"You'll be fine." He said in his usually strict tone. "Konoha is different from Kumogakure but we've only been gone for five years. You'll find your way again."
Her first day went easier than she had hoped. She didn't really talk to anyone, not that anyone really tried to. they all just whispered and glanced at her as she passed.
A pair of legs moved her gaze from the books on her lap to the person they belonged to.
She looked up to find a blond guy looking down at her with smirk. She took a moment to look at his cropped blond hair and deep blue eyes. Her lavender eyes staying on his before briefly glancing at his broad shoulder hidden underneath his uniform. A uniform worn with minimal respect, as his tie knot was loosened until it was on his chest instead of his neck. The first buttons of his shirt were undone. At least he wore his jacket properly.
He didn't say another word and took a seat beside her under the tree.
"You're the new girl?" He asked leaning against the tree she was sitting against.
"H-Hyuuga H-Hinata." She corrected.
"Hinata." He repeated turning to her with a grin. "What are you doing out here?"
"I j-just n-needed s-s-some air while w-waiting to g-go home."
What she really wanted was to get out of this school. She couldn't take the stares and curious gazes anymore. She hated being the new girl.
"I'm Namikaze Naruto." He extended his hand toward her with a grin, his cerulean eyes twinkling.
Namikaze!? She chewed on her lower lip.
The Ambassador's son.
She slowly nodded, lifting her shaking hand to place it in his, not really trusting herself to let any more words out.
"So, wanna hang out after school?" He asked when she pulled her hand away. "I can show you around."
To say that she was taken aback was an understatement. Why would he want to show her around?
"I can't. I have to s-study." She managed to say moving her eyes back to her book hoping that it would be enough to make him leave.
He hummed with a nod still keeping his eyes on her reddening face. "What about after?"
"I-I'm n-n-ot allowed to g-go out after nine." She said clasping her hands together in nervousness.
He snorted and looked at her in disbelief, probably thinking that she was trying to find a way out of it, but she was serious. His look of disbelief turned into a displeased one.
"Why the hell not?"
She shrugged, not really knowing herself but also not being one to question her father.
Never has.
"You can sneak out." He insisted and she almost choked on her saliva before looking at him with wide eyes.
"No!" She practically yelled before she could stop herself.
Her outburst caused an amused expression to appear on his face.
"Why not?" He smirked.
He has been watching her all day and the fact that her head was lowered the whole day made him curious. They literally had two classes together today and he hadn't seen her once lift her head, except when she was spoken to by a teacher.
And it was the same thing in the hallway. She avoided everyone's gaze and that made him curious.
She was certainly shy and he was also curious.
She was beautiful. From her dark indigo hair to her large lavender eyes that only complemented her pearly smooth skin. From her slim wait to her curvy figure and her soft looking legs. Legs he couldn't keep his eyes from the whole time they were in class. His concentration in class was usually lacking, but today brought absent-mindedness to a whole new level.
The book she pressed against her chest all day did nothing to hide her generous assets.
"B-Because it's w-wrong." Her soft voice brought his attention back to her.
And there was this stutter, which only confirmed that her behavior was due to her being shy. And that intrigued him even more.
"What makes it wrong?" He said teasingly looking down at her shaking hands with a smirk. "I can show you around town."
"No t-thank you." She frantically shook her head as she grabbed her book tighter.
"Hinata-Sama!" Her head whipped toward an older man with cropped hair and grey eyes, waving at her from a black car by the school's big gates.
She let out a breath when she saw Ko standing beside the car, waving at her. She quickly grabbed her bag and book before standing up quickly while smoothing her skirt.
She immediately walked toward him without looking back at the blond who was now leaning his back against the tree watching her leave with a smirk.
"See you tomorrow, Hinata."
She briefly glanced at him before walking away.
Ko opened the door for her and she immediately got in to hide herself from the pair of cerulean eyes. Ko closed the door before going to the driver's seat and getting in.
"Who was that Hinata-Sama?" He asked starting the car.
"H-His name is Namikaze Naruto." She said nervously looking down at her lap.
"The Ambassador's son." Ko said and she nodded with a gulp.
She felt her heart skip a beat.
What would her father think? His biggest problem with her is how she never tries to create any connections with anyone, how introvert and shy she was. And she had rejected a conversation with the ambassador's son.
The first half of the next day went almost the same. Hinata went to her morning classes and kept to herself, much like the previous day. What she was happy about was that she had one free period before lunch break so she could to emptiest spot of the library and keep to herself until her next class.
She had yet to step foot in the lunchroom. If only she was brave enough to make friends. At least friends who wouldn't see the Father's name instead of her. That was a problem in a previous school.
She really hoped that this would be different, because the majority of students in this school had powerful parents, so she was sure that her school life here could be different, if only she could fight her shyness.
If only Neji-Nissan didn't stay in Kumo. She thought with a sigh.
"Hi-na-ta."
She squeaked and jumped almost slamming her locker's door shut at the familiar baritone voice.
She slowly turned to find Naruto leaning against the lockers beside her, a smirk adorned his face and his eyes were filled with mischief.
"H-Hi." She shyly murmured grabbing her books before putting her schoolbag in there.
His attention was overwhelming to her and she didn't know what to do with it.
Why does he insist on talking to me?
"I want to take you out." He said and her face beat red as he answered her mental question.
Did she say that out loud?
She briefly glanced at him taking in his handsome face and mischievous smile. "W-Why?"
He shrugged crossing his arms across his chest. "You're cute."
That's all? She wondered furrowing her eyebrows, and he noticed her displeased expression.
"How would I give you reasons if you won't hang out with me?"
She closed her locker and turned to walk the other way.
"So where are you going?" He asked, his voice so close that she felt shiver run down her spine.
"T-To the l-library." She said as he moved to walk beside her, his arm slightly grazing her shoulder.
He didn't say anything after that and just walked beside her.
Her confusion increased as he followed in the library, causing a few heads to tur toward them. he seemed to be used to it but she wasn't and her face turned impossibly red. She walked faster hoping to lose him as she found an empty desk farther from people and took a seat.
He took his seat right beside her with a long sigh. She bit on her lower lip hard and he turned rested his arms against the desk and turned his head toward her to stare at her with an intensity she couldn't handle.
His piercing gaze on her made it impossible for her to focus and he obviously knew because of the way the corner of his lips tucked up.
"So, you wanna go out with me?" He asked.
"I-I'm s-studying." She stuttered moving her hands to the end of her short school skirt to grip them.
"You're not even focused." He chuckled lowly.
"I would b-be if y-you would leave." She whispered lowering her head, causing her hair to hide her red face.
"I want to know you." He said tucking her hair behind her ear causing her to squeak.
At this point, they were sure that her face would explode because of how red it was. Naruto didn't even know that this much blush on a person was humanly possible.
And he surprisingly liked it.
He liked it a lot. She was easy to read.
"Why?" she asked again and he tsked in impatience.
He was not a patient person, and she was testing it.
He lowly groaned dropping his head on the desk with a thud making her jump slightly. Her wide eyes stayed on him.
"You're difficult." He huffed.
Difficult? She thought.
She nervously fidgeted in her seat and moved her eyes back to her book. His head was still on the table as he looked at her.
"What do you like to eat?"
She frowned a little feeling her palms getting sweaty.
He was handsome and his intense unblinking blue eyes on her did nothing to ease her nerves. If anything, it only quickened her heartbeat and a deep blush to evade her face.
"Hi-na-ta." He sat up pocking her side causing her to squeak with another jump. "What's your favorite food?"
"C-Cinnamon b-buns."
"Great!" He exclaimed causing a few people to turn their heads toward them and a glare from an older lady in one of the aisles.
Hinata's face kept it blush as she whispered an apology to the lady.
"I know a great place that makes the best cinnamon buns. It's not far from school." He smirked leaning his face really close to hers. "We can go and I can bring you back afterwards."
His proximity made it hard for her to breathe, let alone think properly.
"I d-don't t-thi-"
"Come one Hi-na-taaaa." He whined resting his jaw against his palm. "I promise I won't make you waste your time. I just want to know you."
"W-Why?"
He huffed giving her an annoyed look before grabbing the book she had in her hands closing loudly.
He then grabbed her hand and pulled her out of her seat ignoring her gasp. He pulled her out of the library ignoring the curious of the other students, certainly wondering the cause of the scene the Konoha's ambassador's son and the Hyuuga heiress were causing.
"H-Hey. What a-are y-you doing?" She asked practically running behind him, her short legs barely being able to keep up with his long strides.
"It's almost lunch break. So, we're going out."
"We c-can't." She said trying to pull her hand out of his hold.
He stopped and suddenly pulled her toward him causing her chest to bump against him. Her face turned crimson as she looked up at him with wide eyes.
"I promised we'll be back before our next classes." He said giving her a reassuring smile and a small squeeze on her hand. "Let's go." He said pulling her along again.
And she let him.
