Castiel returned to the dining room a few minutes later carrying two plates of Eleanor's favourite apple pie, topped with whipped cream, setting them on the table and taking a seat.
"Yum! Smells good!" Eleanor exclaimed putting a piece in her mouth. "Mhm this tastes amazing. When did you become such an awesome chef?" She asked.
"Well mostly you and I watched a lot of Food Network cooking shows. Although...their recipe methods were not very...sufficient, I had to improvise." He replied taking a bite himself.
"Well! You've done excellent Cas." Said Eleanor.
"Thank you! That really means a lot to me" he said reaching out a hand to rest over hers.
Eleanor smiled blushing slightly at his touch.
After they had dessert Cas insisted he clean up while she relaxed.
He went into the kitchen while she left to go use the bathroom.
Eleanor brushed her teeth and splashed some water on her face then patted it dry. She looked at herself the mirror taking a deep breath and letting it out. She was so nervous, the way Castiel was acting tonight, he was being so romantic she didn't think he had any clue that he was. And it was torture for her.
It was almost three years ago when she first kissed him, she had a huge crush on him, but knowing he would never return those feelings, she kissed him anyway, so she had to leave.
She thought those feelings would eventually go away as time passed, but they never really did. She thought about Cas all the time which caused her to neverhave a stable relationship with anyone else. When the guys she tried to be with began to feel too neglected they always left and it was always true what they all said, she never loved any of them the way she was expected too.
Eventually after a long time those feelings for Cas eased some. Until that night at her bar when she first saw him after two years. All those feelings came rushing back with the force a thousand steed stampeding into her soul. Castiel! He was so innocent and clueless. He's the most kind and caring person she'd ever met, almost oblivious to the happenings of human life around him.
They had been living together for almost 8 months now and Eleanor had fallenin love with him even more than she already did. She tried to keep her cool whenever she was around him, tried to keep her feelings in and after he told her what needed to happen to get his grace back she knew then that she could never be with him, she was unimportant, insignificant, she could not be his true love and she never want to get in the way of that, she didn't want to take that opportunity away from him. She loved him too much.
And so she stood by him. Giving him everything that she could. Been there for him in any way that she could until the day he didn't need her anymore.
Taking a deep breath to gather her thoughts, she finished up and headed back downstairs.
