Count Dooku, Corellia 23 BBY, 23 days before battle of Geonosis
The vote was over. She could finally get free of her office, she never liked it truth be told. She made that clear to her father. She hated the office. Undryl finally was able to freely wander Axial Park's zoo with Siannah in tow. Though Siannah still was dressed similar to Undryl, but she had at least ditched the robe. It meant that Undryl could finally get back to her true job.
However, where Dooku waited at a cantina, Palpatine entered with his robes covering his face. "We have a problem" Dooku said
"Explain it" Sidious replied tersely.
"Undryl Stathe was spotted inside Axial Park,, she wasnt alone, she is with most likely a bodydouble, the body double is familiar. I believe she is a member of Coronet's Heros troop squad, the two women are dressed alike, clothing patterns are identical but one of them handles herself like a soldier" Dooku replied calmly as he took a sip of wine. "It is quite possible the guard was assigned to her because of the vote."
"The vote was merely a ploy to draw out the true contenders for it. CEC has no place among military contracted shipyards. Have your troops readied for their task. It wont be long now." Sidious said as Dooku poured a glass of wine for Sidious.
"We've been tracking Undryl and her double since the vote. This is where they were last seen." Dooku held a piece of glass to his master. "Axial Park my troops are scouting the area carefully while unseen of course. So far Undryl according to the reports seems to be going in and out of museums and parkland. Sticking oddly close to the Nexu cages for that matter"
A long quiet moment passed between the two Sith. "Where is she now ?" Sidious finally asked after sipping a glass of Corellian wine.
"According to my troops in the area, as of ten minutes ago, she is near to the Balkavan Hall" Dooku replied, "A favorite haunt of hers most likely, by now shes inside it. I can have a slicer droid hook in and get the floorplans if you wish." He was about to begin the command when Sidious raised a hand.
"No need" Sidious said simply. "I will strike her down outside it., ensure your men disable all cameras within the area."
"You will need a desguise, however it is going to rain, will you need a sonic umbrella ?" Dooku offered his own to Sidious who smiled thinly. Accepting the offered item Sidious had his means of easily taking down his target.
Sidious smiled, Dooku could hear it in his Masters voice. "Ensure that the double is recalled to her squad over an important matter, it will ensure that Undryl is alone. Infact, contact me as soon as she boards the rocket tram" Sidious said simply.
Dooku smirked, ensure the double was removed from the equasion, Coronets Heros members were hard to kill. "As you say" Dooku stood from the counter as Sidious once more spoke.
"Remember, every camera must be offlined and the double removed from the area." He said to Dooku, who nodded and went to do just that. Dooku had his tasks, it was time for Sidious to take a breief break and wait a few moments. He could take a Rocket Tram to get to his target.
Across Coronet City at the Axial Park's Balkavan Hall, Undryl and Sinnah entered and browesed among the displays for long moments. Undryl noticed the lack of crowds and that meant she could explore easier. Turning from an old Corellian tablet of some form dating back ages before, Undryl saw Siannah on her comlink.
"I understand, yes sir I'll return." Siannah sighed and ended the call.
"Who was that ?" Undryl asked
"My Squad commander" Siannah replied "He says he needs me at HQ at Blastfield shipyards." the woman sighed.
"We cant get a break can we ?" Undryl asked
"Clearly not, my commander said that if I dont show up at the Rocket Tram I'll get kicked out of the squad" Siannah said, clearly unhappy at such a threat. "Will you be alright here ?"
"I should be, go see what your commander wants, sooner the better. The last thing I want is you to lose your your real job and have to rely on CEC for a paycheck, Papa wouldnt like that." Undryl said. It was easier now, the vote was over, she was done and once more free to do as she liked, sure Bodgey wasnt there, but still. Even having Siannah leave made her slightly nervous.
"I will try not to be too long, knowing my boss he will want me back to guarding you as per Master Stardrifters orders." Siannah said before taking her leave out of the Hall. Leaving Undryl alone entirely.
A droid watched from the shadows as Undryls body double left the woman alone. Activating an internal comlink the droid spoke, its voice heard by Sidious directly. "Undryl Stathe alone and isolated, staff elsewhere for next cycle. Recommended course of action ?"
"Stay put" Sidious replied calmly into the comlink, "Update on her movements every five minutes and as soon as she leaves the Hall"
"Orders confirmed" Came the reply and the droid went back to monitoring the lone woman who wandered the Balkavan Hall Museume.
Siannah stepped onto the rocket tram. As she did so another droid watching her every move reported it in. "Major Siannah Twang has boarded the rocket tram for Coronet Spaceport. Recommended course of action ?"
"Stay put, she will be detained by her commander and paperwork. Keep an eye on her return. By that point the current movements will be ignored." Sidious replied.
"Orders confirmed" The droid replied calmly.
Siannah arrived at the spaceport station and got off the rocket tram. "Lady Stathe ?" Said a voice, it was a young man named Zak Dowes, it took a moment as Siannah was still dressed as Undryl with the custom made dress the woman had made for her that morning. But then Zak recognised her. "Ma'am, I am sorry I mistook you for Lady Stathe, you look just like her when dressed like that, we werent expecting you back until Tobias Stathe, or Jedi Master Stardrifter dismissed you, what brought you back here ?" Another member of the squad asked when he saw her, the relatively new member still referred to his betters and more experienced members as sir or ma'am
"I was called back here, on threat of demotion to completely cut oiff from the squad if I didnt get my ass back here." Siannah replied
"But we didnt send out such a call. I would have gotten it too. Come on, the commander is upstairs." Zak lead the way up a ramp into the control center of the spaceport and current home of Coronet's Heros squad. "Commander Byl Sidr, Major Tang and Lt Dowes reporting in." He said
"At ease, both of you." The Commander replied, He looked them both over. "Major Twang, might I ask why you are dressed like Lady Stathe ?"
"Last minute wardrobe orders this morning, I havent changed into my normal garb, Lady Stathe insisted I stay like this for the rest of the day. I at least ditched Master Stardrifeters extra robe in Lady Stathes bedroom." Siannah replied
Commander Sidr stared at the two hard. "Do you two mind telling me why you're here ? Why arent you patrolling Lt ? Why arent you guarding Lady Stathe, Major ?"
"I met up with Major Twang outside the spaceport near the Rocket Tram station, I was on patrol at the time until she said she was called back here, I never received such a call but she said it was important enough to get back here to talk to you." Lt Dowes replied
"I received a call coming from here, it said that if I didnt arrive in a timely manner I would be removed from Coronet's Heros." Siannah reported, "Lady Stathe thought it odd as did I, but she insisted on me coming here and leaving her on her own. The vote is over. Where more do I need to do ?"
"You need to be with her, but this comm call to you, it is most confusing. Lt, check comms control. Someone there will have a report of all outgoing transmissions from this sector."
"Yes sir" Dowes replied.
"When was the call timed ?" Commander Sidr asked to Siannah.
"Twenty minutes ago, it gave me a half hour timer." Siannah replied.
"Lt, check all outgoing transmissions for the last cycle to an hour. Bring the data back here right away" Commander Sidr ordered
"Yes sir!" A salute and Lt Dowes was off to do his mission as Sidr and Siannah went over to the command table.
"Its going to take a bit before things settle, the vote had everyone worried. Several voters were killed in assassinations, there is still the chance that Undryl Stathe is still a target even after the vote was cast." Siannah said
"Indeed, you did right in coming back here, had you igniored the radio call command according to this would indeed have flagged you as a deserter. But we both know otherwise, someone triggered it and I was not the person who ordered such a thing." Commander Sidr replied
A few moments later and Lt Dowes returned "Sir, Major, according to this the only outgoing transmission from our tower alone was sent twenty three minutes ago, directly to Major Twangs comlink alone. According to this it was relayed from High Command directly and not from anyone here." He handed the report to Commander Sidr.
"If High Command sent the report, somethings going on, unless they have a mole ?" Sidr replied.
"I agree sir" Dowes replied.
"Its possible someone is trying to undermine the Stathe family even after the voting was completed" Commander Sidr said tersely as he read the report.
"Sir, permission to return to Lady Starthe to ensure she is protected ?" Siannah said standing attention
"Granted, get back to her right away. If you must, take a shuttle from the Government District. The rocket trams are down in Axial Park because of the rain." Sidr told her.
"Yes sir" Siannah saluted and took her leave, a mad dash to the Rocket Tram and then from there to the government district. At the same moment, Sidious got the comm notice. Siannah was sent back to Undryl, but was taking a shuttle.
Sidious smirked behind his hood, it was almost time. The rain began to pour heavier in Axial Park as Undryl explore the Balkavan Hall before exiting. "Target exiting Balkavan Hall, recommended course of actions ?" Came a report but Sidious ignored it as he walked along a dry walkway looking down below.
"I see her, disable all cameras" Sidious said simply.
"Cameras disabled" came the reply a few seconds later.
"Major Siannah Twang reported at Government Center Rockt Tram station, target is headed for the nearby shuttle pads" Came another report. Sidious was going to have to make this quick.
Moving to a nearby lift, Sidious felt his lightsaber against his wrist, the perfect strike was all he needed. The rain could obscure him from most prying eyes and some sensors. But he wanted something to denote that someone was behind the attack.
Stepping off the lift he stepped out into the rain, undryl was a hundred meters away, and he strode towards her with purpose in his steps.
The rain poured as Undryl relished it. The woman loved it when it rained on Corellia, when she could she'd just wander in the rain and let herself get soaked in it. It was refreshing on hot days. But this day it was refreshing because a great weight was now off her shoulders. She had voted, she voted against a contract awarded by the Surpreme Chancellor. Which was strange that he even attended the voting process in and of itself
She never saw him coming. The hairs on her neck stood on end, but she paid it no heed as she turned to look up at the sky, letting the rain hit her face. The sudden hum of a lightsaber however took her hearing, confused she started to turn to see what made the noise.
Hot searing pain lanced through her back, from the base of her spine to the base of her neck. Hot searing pain, and then, raw relief of cold void. Undryl fell forwards onto the duracrete panel directly before the lore information for the Balkavan Hall.
It hurts! Undryl thought in raw pain as whoever struck her down had disappeared into the rain. She couldnt see. I don't want this!
A soft melodic voice rang out in her ears "Received, pain nullification aquired."
So hot, why is it so hot ? Is it the rain ? Cold ? Too cold!
Again the soft voice rang out in her ears. "Confirmed, heat resistence aquired, cold resistence aquired, combining abilities, Thermal Resistence aquired."
Undryl gasped and gurgled for breath as she died. I can't believe this, dying a virgin ? So close to thirty and unable to have a husband. In my next life I will be more aggresive
"Confirmed!" the medlodic voice rang out. "Ability, Predator aquired. Matching body type."
At nearly thirty, I could be a Jedi Knight, or even a Jedi Master Undryl thought as she saw black and water. Very briefly the image her brain sought out was a Tooka kitten her parents had adopted for her. A beautiful brown and orange and gray tabby But this is too much, I dont want this!
"Body type found!" Came the medloic voice. It was reassuring. "Beginning transfer... Skill Jedi upgraded to jedi Knight, Skill Jedi Knight upograded to Jedi Master, Rank , Jedi Master granted."
Me a Jedi ? The Galaxy is so big, Where could I begin ? I am too old to train Undryl thought as the brief image of her tooka kitten, Skittles, faded from her mind.
For long moments Undryl laid still. And then. She heard another voice. She wasnt dead yet ?
"Undryl!" Siannah dropped to her knees and gently rolled Undreyl over onto her back, as gently as she could, Undryl sighed stiffly in the rain.
"Siannah" Undryl gasped, her blooded hand reaching for her arm. "Do me a favor, keep the dress the Tailor made for you this morning, you look good in it."
"Preferred Clothing Style Coloration confirmed" Came the melodic voice as Undryls own outfit, a beautiful shade of dark and light pink edged in white soaked by the rainfall seemed to glitter slightly"
Siannah smiled, or at least, tried to smile, "I know, my commander thought I was you." It made Undryl laugh, and start to choke. "Undryl, come on stay with with me! I sent a call to Master Stardrifter, but I never got an answer"
"Siannah" Undryl gurgled as she struggled to speak, everything was going cold, darkness was enroaching., "Do me a favor, take the memory crystal from TeeTwo, ensure Bodgey gets it, make sure Teetwo is given directly to her as well, in my chambers is a relic, a Corellian relic, hide it somewhere, I dont care where, give it to Bodgey if you must" Her voice faltered and her heart stopped
"Unable to destroy desired item due tio lack of information" Came the melodic voice. "Alternative abilities, Lightning, Lightning Bomb, Chain Lighting. Lighting Portal, aquired..." A few seconds later the same voice in melody spoke anew "Transferring to new body..."
"Undryl!" Siannah gently shook the woman, "Undryl! Wake up!" But Undryl was dead. Siannah snarled something and got on her comlink. "Commander, Send the squad to this location, bring Tobias Stathe and his wife, their daughter is dead"
Across the galaxy, A lone Jedi Master landed on Felucia, and through the force she somehow felt at peace, but also on edge, as if someone close had just died.
