"Bo?"
Tamsin ran into the hotel room hoping to find the succubus but knew deep down she wouldn't. She ran over to where their bags had sat that morning but found only hers with a note on top. She grabbed the piece of paper but threw it down before reading it. There was no need; she knew what it would say. She emptied the contents of her bag and saw that the box which held the coveted vessel of Vor was missing. She sighed as she sat down heavily on the bed and put her face in her hands.
Remy walked over to her and placed her hand on her shoulder. "I know you Tamsin, you pay attention to everything. Don't tell me you didn't see this coming."
"Knowing and having it be realities are two different things. I thought maybe what we had could alter things. Change her plans. Guess I was wrong."
Remy bent over and picked up the paper. She scanned it then began reading it out loud. "By the time you read this I will be long gone and you will be very angry with me. I can't say this wasn't what I planned because it was. I needed you to get to the object my father was seeking. I would be lying if I didn't admit that betraying you was the hardest thing I've ever done. No matter what part of me is housed in this body, my love for you transcends it all. But what is to come is bigger than either of us and sacrifices must be made. Don't look for me. We will find each other soon enough."
Remy put the paper down and sat beside Tamsin, "Well that was cryptic. You okay Sin?"
Tamsin tilted her head and stared at her former lover. "The world could be coming to an end very soon and the woman that I love is going to bring it about. There's no way to feel okay about that."
"So then, what's your plan?"
Tamsin got up and walked over to her bag. She dug inside until she found what she was looking for and pulled out something hidden in the tissue paper. She unwrapped the object and stared down at what appeared to be a black pearl. "Now I go back home and prepare for Armageddon."
"I don't understand," Kenzi said as she dropped into a seat by the bar.
The following evening found Tamsin with the rest of the gang at the Dal. Lauren sat nursing a drink while Dyson paced back and forth. Trick was downstairs in his quarters looking up ways to possibly stop Bo and her father. Hale was the only one calm enough to ask questions.
"So, she attempted to have you killed for what exactly?"
Tamsin shrugged and folded her arms. "I honestly don't know. I think it may have been a way to make me trust her."
"She saves you and then you aren't looking at her in such a bad light," Lauren said as she sipped her martini.
"Add in some makeup sex and boom, you've been succubied," Kenzi joked with a weak smile.
Hale shook his head and continued talking. "This has gotten way out of control. Bo hired people to kill Tamsin. Even if it was a part of some elaborate scheme that just feels wrong even saying it."
"Best believe it doesn't sit well with me either but at this point her motivation doesn't matter. She has to be stopped and we have to do it," Tamsin said going behind the bar to fix herself a drink. "This ends now."
Kenzi turned around in her seat and leaned towards Tamsin. "And how do you plan on doing that? She isn't just going to surrender."
"Of course not, when has Bo ever made anything easy." Tamsin threw back a shot of whiskey then refilled the small glass. She drank that one as well and tried to avoid the eyes of all her friends. "Why are you all giving me that look?" Tamsin said finally raising her eyes.
Dyson stepped forward, "You know why. You're talking as if you have plans to hurt her."
Tamsin shook her head, "I never said that, but if comes down to me or her..."
"You'll do what has to be done," Trick said appearing at the entrance to his quarters. "And I wouldn't blame you Tamsin. Bo is dangerous."
"Trick, you of all people can't condone Tamsin killing Bo," Dyson said with a look of surprise.
Trick waved the wolf off and slammed the heavy book he was carrying onto the bar top. "No one said anything about killing anyone but Tamsin has a right to defend herself. And if any of you had seen like I have what an untamed succubus can do you would understand."
"But we have seen. Bo's mom was quite the piece of work", Lauren said shaking her head.
"That was nothing compared to what I know," Trick said taking a seat. "A long time ago when I was very young there was a plague. At least that's what we believed it to be. All of the young men in my village, aged 16 to about 20 were suddenly coming down with what we called a sleeping sickness. One day they would be healthy and robust and the next unable to get out of bed. We called it sleeping but it was clear that they were being tormented in some way because they all would toss and turn and cry out constantly as if in pain. The elders couldn't figure out what to do. It seemed I was immune because of the abilities in my blood. After two weeks all of the young men were ill and only I was left alone. Then one night I was watching over my friend Samuel and fell asleep. I was startled awake by what sounded like an animal growling. I opened my eyes and saw my friend being ridden by some kind of beast. Once the disorientation left I could see it was a woman but her visage was horrific. Her eyes glowed red, her skin was mottled with boils and her face was twisted and yet Samuel was clutching her to him like she was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. I would learn later that she was capable of appearing as whatever the person desired. The pain the young men were in came from being in a constant state of arousal. Somehow she would mark them so that they would sleep and always be at her disposal. We only vanquished her after consulting a witch who knew of a spell to cast her from our village and in that time we lost several of the young men, including my friend Samuel. Before she was banished the witch bound her and we were all able to see her and ask questions. I asked why she did such things, hurting people when she could have found another way to survive. She answered simply, 'Because I can'."
Trick stopped speaking and pulled open the book laid before him on the bar. He pointed to a passage and began reading. "The succubus is a wily creature that has an almost unlimited ability to trick her prey. Should the creature be captured one must bind her with a special incantation to take away her magic."
Tamsin walked over behind him and glanced at the passage. "You want to take away her abilities?"
Trick nodded, "If we can't stop her corruption we can at least make it so those trying to use her won't be able to."
"How do you know she won't be harmed? And if you take away who she is...what if she can't get it back," Dyson said grabbing the book and quickly scanned the words as he read out loud. "The succubus who is bound may never recover her abilities and will be rendered human."
"There are worse things than being human," Kenzi said as she walked over and placed her hand on Trick's shoulder. "If it saves her from being a monster I think it's a risk we should take."
Lauren raised her glass in solidarity, "I concur, being human isn't so bad."
"Well I'm glad that you all think the decision is so easy. We know Bo won't go down without a fight and there's a chance that this could all go wrong," Dyson said, his face full of concern. "Plus she has just come to terms with being a succubus; to take that away may do more harm than good."
"What would you have us do Dyson? Keep her locked away until we figure this out?" Tamsin asked walking over to the wolf. She put her hand on his chest and looked him in the eyes. "You know how I feel about Bo, nothing I am discussing is easy for me. But o
"I have an idea," Lauren yelled out as she slammed down her glass and quickly swallowed what was in her mouth. "What if we could get Bo to naturally return to her old self?"
Hale shook his head and gave the doctor a skeptical look. "How are we supposed to do that? She's buried that other part of her so deep down there may be no way to access it."
"That's just it, we know someone who was able to access that other self," Lauren replied nodding towards Tamsin.
"Yeah but you're forgetting, I was bound to her by blood. I don't have the ability to contact her in that way anymore."
"But you could," Dyson said snapping his fingers. "All we have to do is get some of her blood inside of you again."
"And I happen to have some of Bo's blood in my lab. All the tests I had to do when she came back, I took samples to see if I could figure out what was wrong. I kept a few just in case," Lauren said stepping down from her seat.
"This could totally work. You get her blood inside you again; communicate with the other Bo like before. Maybe we could fix her from the inside out," Kenzi said, a real smile finally breaking out on her face.
Tamsin listened to her friends and the excitement in their voices at the idea. She looked over at Trick who was being very quiet as he rubbed his hand over the last page they had read in his book.
"You don't think it will work do you?" Tamsin said.
Everyone quieted and turned to Trick. A sad smile appeared on his face.
"It's not that, it sounds like a great idea. But as I stood hear listening to you all, I honestly contemplated just using my blood to end all this."
Dyson began to speak but Trick raised his hand to stop him.
"I know the consequences and would never do it again but it would be so easy. To have access to such power but unable to use it...I understand why Bo was led away. I'm a cripple, I could never teach her how to harness what she possesses when I fear it in myself."
Tamsin went over to Trick and put her hands on his shoulders. "Old man, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Bo's father is using her, plain and simple. He may have taught her how to apply her magic but you've taught her to respect it and know the difference between right and wrong. We're going to bring her home, all of us. This isn't your burden alone."
Trick nodded and patted Tamsin's cheek. Everyone remained quiet, lost in their own thoughts.
Kenzi grabbed the shot glass Tamsin had been drinking out of and poured another. She threw it back and choked a bit as the drink hit her throat. She cleared it and sipped from the glass of water she had earlier. "Just as a side not Tamsin, that whiskey you like is disgusting. Everyone else, I say we get to saving Bo."
Tension broken, the crew laughed finally and began preparing to head out.
Hey everyone. Let me just say that writer's block is not a friend, lol. I have been trying to figure out how to transition to the latter half of this story and been stuck. This chapter while simple was one I just could not seem to write. Now that I'm done with it, I can feel the creative juices flowing again. I'm not going to do a part two as I mentioned in the past, too much pressure. So instead I will complete this as my story. You can expect another 5 - 10 chapters or so and I want to make them fun. So after the next one which will involve more separation and angst for Bo and Tamsin (boo I know), I want to get back to the focus of the story, the love and desire between our favorite valkyrie and succubus. The show flirted with the idea but decided not to deliver so I want to give all the feels I can here. So expect some romance, sex and humor and less darkness (although that was really fun to write). If you haven't checked out my lighter stories involving Bo and Tamsin, look under my user name and check out What Could Be. It contains a couple of one shots I did, hope to do a few more of those as well. Thanks as always for reading, the new followers and the ones who have been with me from the beginning. I hope to end this with a bang!
