Tamsin sat alone at the bar in the Dal and tried not to let her nervousness show. The subtle tremor in her hand shook the glass she held with her beloved whiskey but the more she drank the steadier it got. Weird how for most alcohol made them worse but for her it made things better.
"I've been alive for too long it seems," Tamsin said turning around in her seat to face Bo.
She had felt the succubus as soon as she arrived, her presence causing a disturbance in the air despite her stealthy movements. She threw back the rest of her drink and slammed the glass down on the counter.
"So how are we to play this my valkyrie? Hard and fast or slow and soft? I know you like it both ways," Bo said with a smirk as she walked towards her from the entrance. "Where is everyone? I thought this was to be a reunion of sorts?"
Tamsin shrugged and leaned forward with her hands on either side of the stool. "I didn't think you would want any interference. Besides, this is really about you and I Isabeau."
"Using my full name, I feel like I'm about to be reprimanded," Bo said licking her lips. "I do apologize for the whole hiring hit men thing. I just needed a good distraction and your trust. I knew you were never in danger."
"How? Did you suddenly develop the power to see the future as well?"
Bo chuckled and finally stopped her stroll in front of Tamsin. Her outfit had more leather than usual. Black leather pants that hugged her like a second skin, a blood red leather bustier and a fitted black leather jacket. It looked sexy and dangerous. The valkyrie had to swallow hard to keep down the dirty thoughts that were running through her head.
"You like what I'm wearing, I can tell by your aura. Why don't I let you get the full effect," Bo said with a wink as she began to do a little spin.
Tamsin grabbed her from behind, pulling her between her legs while she remained seated. She gripped her throat with one hand while holding her waist with the other. She pulled Bo tight against her body and nuzzled her neck. "You smell like heaven, but Lucifer was once an angel too."
Tamsin shoved Bo away from her and jumped down off the stool. She removed her own leather jacket and threw it behind the counter. Bo was no longer smiling, her eyes gone cold.
"Ah, there she is, the real part of this version of you. I've been waiting, but you like to play games. You and I both know you feel nothing. Any emotion you have belongs to that piece you've removed, all the rest is just you playing pretend. The letter of contrition, coming to my bed on our trip. You were playing at being human, but your humanity is lost inside of you."
Bo began a slow clap. A smile reappeared but didn't reach her eyes. "And now she figures it out, took you long enough."
"What was the point of all this? You could've ended the game as soon as we got to that hotel in New Orleans. I was alone with you, you had the vessel..."
"I wanted that time with you. I needed to be sure how to proceed."
Tamsin shook her head, "You sound so clinical. What do you want from me?"
"Don't you understand Tamsin? I want to be with you, you're everything I could want. You love me even as I stand before you ready to kill. Whether I am sweet or not you accept me. We could rule this world together," Bo said, taking a hesitant step forward.
"You're serious?"
"I may not feel in a way that you understand, but I know what I want. Perhaps there is a part of that other side that even now lingers. Yet on my own I find you a most suitable choice for my mate. My father agrees."
Tamsin chuckled bitterly. "Does he now?"
"The destruction you caused with Mikhail was spectacular, he brags about it still. You were only punished to keep up appearances. Odin knows what you're capable of and he wants us to rule by his side."
Tamsin chuckled, "You all are fucking crazy. Between Odin, Danielus and yourself I honestly don't know who's worse. But I do know this, no one controls my destiny. Now knuckle up succubus, shit is about to get real."
Bo smirked as she removed her jacket. "I love it when you talk dirty to me. Now show me what you got valkyrie."
"Before we start, ground rules. No powers, just a clean fight," Tamsin said eyeing the weapons Trick kept for show on the wall. "But weapons are allowed."
Bo cocked her head to the side and appeared to contemplate the request. After a few moments of silence she nodded. "Okay, I'll play your game."
Tamsin stalked towards Bo who had removed her jacket. They stood facing each other, neither one making the first move. Intrigued she moved in and kissed the succubus lightly. Bo responded in kind with an equally light peck on the valkyrie's lips. Deciding that if death was possibly eminent she didn't want to leave this world without one more real kiss between them, Tamsin grabbed Bo and brought their lips together in an almost brutal manner.
Pulling back reluctantly Tamsin could see the other woman's face was etched with desire, her lips plump and slightly reddened from the intense turn the kiss had taken. Rather than bask in her ability to even then distract Bo, she decided to use the moment to teach her a lesson instead. She changed her stance and swept out with her leg knocking Bo to the floor. Her face full of confusion but then replaced with a look of understanding, the succubus smirked and jumped back up assuming a fighting stance as well.
"Cheeky even til the end. Nice move by the way, although we both know it took everything in you to stop," Bo teased as they began circling each other.
"A true warrior is never completely caught up no matter the situation. Never forget that," Tamsin said as she moved forward swinging a punch towards Bo's head. The succubus was swift and dodged it but not before kicking out to knock Tamsin back.
Tamsin grimaced and rolled backwards in the direction of the wall. She had her eye on a staff Trick had hanging on the wall. She jumped up and grabbed it, swinging back around with a smile. "You have five seconds to grab something for yourself before I start using this."
Bo guffawed and ran to the other side grabbing a staff as well. Tamsin ran towards her and lunged, swinging her staff with supreme dexterity. Bo did a good job holding her off, giving just as much force in her blows as she took. Despite the seriousness of their current interaction Tamsin couldn't help but feel pride at Bo's ability to handle herself. She clearly had been training more than before and was becoming a real fighter who could hold her own even without her abilities.
"So you've been doing more than just learning how to manipulate your succubus powers I see," Tamsin said as she held off.
Bo smirked and did a slight bow before returning to a defensive stance, "I was inspired by your fighting style. You're always a warrior, through and through. I can only hope to one day be as good a fighter."
Tamsin allowed herself to smile, "You flatter me, but that doesn't mean I'm going to allow you to win"
"Oh I wouldn't dream of you allowing me to do anything," Bo said putting her hand out with a come forward gesture.
Tamsin raised her staff again and moved in Bo's direction. They circled each other again, this time more serious. Both women raised their staffs and began battling. Their grunts echoed off the walls in the room. Although impressed with how well she handled herself, Tamsin was playing around with Bo. If she had been using any of the deadly moves she knew so well the succubus would have been knocked unconscious by this point.
"You're holding back," Bo yelled over the din of the banging staffs.
"Not at all, just feeling you out," Tamsin responded.
Bo stopped swinging and threw the staff on the floor. Her face looked agitated before she too removed her jacket and threw it behind the bar. Unsure of what her next move would be Tamsin gripped her staff waiting to see what the succubus would do. Almost immediately she felt a swoosh of air as the front door to the Dal swung open. In marched a group of what looked to be undead soldiers.
"Draugar, you have got to be kidding me," Tamsin said with a roll of her eyes.
"You said I couldn't use my powers. Nothing was mentioned of my soldiers fighting for me."
Bo's undead men surrounded Tamsin but didn't attempt to fight. She assumed they were waiting for their master's command.
"So daddy taught you a new trick did he? I thought these creatures were only controlled by gods?"
Bo shrugged, "Being a demigod has its perks. I've been saving them for the right opponent."
"I have to admit, I'm strangely flattered once again. If I don't die here today I'll be sure to make you the president of my fan club."
"Always so sarcastic. Do you ever turn that shit off?"
"Nah, it suits me," Tamsin replied with a wink.
"You could make this easy on yourself and give me what I want, you and the vessel. Or I can have these creatures beat you within an inch of your life," Bo said walking behind the bar. She began fixing herself a drink. "Don't forget, I can heal others now. I can take you to the brink and bring you back but the pain getting there will not be pleasant."
Tamsin lowered her body and raised the staff. "Are you gonna keep on with the pillow talk or can I kill these things now?"
"Have it your way. Beat her until I say stop," Bo said sipping on her drink.
The draugar spread out, completely surrounding Tamsin. She looked over their ranks trying to formulate a plan how to proceed and counted 8 of them. They were a hardy bunch, most newly dead judging by the lack of full decay on their faces. Tamsin knew she was going to need more than a staff to handle them but she needed to figure out how to get back to the wall of weapons. Mid thought an ax went swinging past her head as she dodged to her right, only to be met by a fist landing on her jaw. Startled she didn't have time to set herself before another fist hit her in the midsection.
"Son of a bitch," she screamed out as she took the staff and uppercut the draug that hit her last.
She couldn't use her doubt abilities on creatures like these which made them formidable foes but she had something else. Her back against the wall, literally, she reared back and let loose a valkyrie cry that was surely heard within a 5 mile radius. The draugr all stumbled and fell on their backs as she swung her head from right to left. It could only be used once in any given battle but it served its purpose and allowed her to leap over the startled and fallen corpses to get to the weapons she wanted.
"Bravo, what other bag of tricks have you got?" Bo said slowly clapping.
"I'm not even going to ask how you weren't affected by that cry," Tamsin said as she grabbed two swords. She noticed Bo's raised eyebrow. "One for kicking ass and one for taking names," she said with a smirk.
Tamsin knew her humor was misplaced but it was the only thing holding her together and it kept Bo from seeing that she was scared shitless. In her genius plan she had told the gang to meet her somewhere else instead of The Dal, hoping to lure Bo and lessen any collateral damage. Now she was second guessing her bravado and it was looking more and more like she was going to pay for it. Her only hope was that the seed she had planted in Bo's consciousness would work in her favor.
"Okay, I'm ready for you now fellas. Let's do this," Tamsin said running head first into the fray.
A/N: I have been gone a very long time but watching reruns of Lost Girl reminded me how much I loved the show and re inspired my muse. I want to finish this story because I had so much fun writing it and quite frankly wasn't pleased with the way Tamsin's story ended on the show. If there are any of my original readers out there, I hope you find it again and if you're a new reader make sure you start from the beginning:) This chapter was a little shorter than I usually do but I'm dipping my toes in, there is more to come!
