The Ozaki family van pulled to a sharp stop, making all its passengers lurch forward against their seat belts.
Finally, Rai finally breathed, and the blue forming on her lips started to disappear.
The middle Ozaki let go of the car handle, and opened her sore hand. Her knuckles still white from the two minute car drive.
Her stormy eyes swept to the side at her new high school.
"Don't forget, the last load of our stuff will be dropped off at four, and someone needs to be there for it!" Mosu said as he put the family van in park.
His glasses were resting halfway down his nose, making it a miracle that the oldest Ozaki children made it safely to their new school. Asa might not might not make it to her school.
Their father's brown hair was cut in a dorky bowl cut, similar to an old British band style.
"School let's out at 3:15, dad, and the house is a ten minute walk from here," Rai reminded with a sigh. "Asa's school lets out at the same time too."
"Ah, right! Well, don't forget to pick her up!"
"I'm not two, you know," the youngest Ozaki muttered from the back seat. She didn't even bother to look up from her phone.
Rai unclipped her seat belt and slid out of the car before an argument started.
Yumena followed suit from the front seat of the car. Her older sister rolled her hazel eyes and slammed the door, strutting towards the high school.
Her light brown hair swished as she walked.
"Have a good first day, Yuma!" Mosu shouted, making his eldest daughter ignore his words.
Rai leaned in and pecked her fathers clean shaved cheek, and waved to her little sister.
"Gari-gari pops on me, okay?"
Her head snapped up from her phone and Asa's brown eyes surveyed her sister. They narrowed for a moment before she nodded.
"Don't be late, or I'll leave without you," she stated looking back down at her phone.
Asa's dark hair fell around her face, and hid her eyes.
"Done deal," Rai agreed and pulled away from the car. She watched as her dad pulled away before turning to her new school.
She pushed a strand of her dark brown hair behind her ear and sighed.
Yumaena had already disappeared into the school with her quick strides, leaving her younger sister behind.
"Here we go," Rai sighed, and walked forward.
Like any new kid she was nervous, her stomach had been performing a circus for the last week. But the night before it had acted as if it were performing for the Queen of England.
This was her first time being a new kid. Her first time changing schools like this.
Rai perked up when she noticed a vending machine to her left, right as she entered the school.
She dropped her stuff off at her locker and made her way too her second year class.
On her journey, she noted the water fountains, washrooms, and any other notable destinations.
She even paused in front of one vending machine to check her choices.
Was it an excuse to avoid an awkward extra minutes before class started? Of course it was. But it was necessary to check for Wasabi Beef Chips and to her delight, she found them.
The first good highlight of the move.
Someone passed by her, clipping her shoulder. Rai stepped towards the machine to get out of the way of traffic.
"Sorry," she mumbled, looking for the person.
"It's alright." A tall boy stopped and squinted his brown eyes at her. She noticed and cleared her throat, looking away and concentrated on the vending machine in front of her.
His tall and muscular figure was a bit intimidating she noticed as she looked from the corner of her eye.
The boy's hair was cut close to his scalp and he had rich brown skin tone.
"Ojiro, are you coming?" Another boy stopped.
"Uh, hold on a sec." The boy took a step towards her and she looked up at him.
He was easily six feet tall, even to Rai, who was 5'9", he seemed like a giant with his broad shoulders.
If he wasn't wearing the school uniform, she would have assumed he was a teacher.
"You're new, are you lost?" He asked, with a soften expression. A friendly smile danced on his thick lips.
Rai widened her eyes in surprise, third years usually ignored their underclassmen in the halls. Her open mouth moved, making her look like a fish.
He creased his eyebrows, and looked worried. But before he could question her she spoke.
"I'm new, not lost. The second year classrooms are down that hall?" She pointed down the hall across from the vending machine.
The boy relaxed and nodded.
A bell rang, a three minute warning before class started.
"Welcome to Inarazaki High," he added, walking back to his white hair friend.
A wave of relief washed over her, soothing the raging tsunami of anxious nerves in her body. Rai took in a deep breath and headed down the hallway before her.
Class 2-2 was the second class to her right, and was already filled with her new classmates.
She stepped into the class, and almost as if she was cueing the bell, it rang.
Some students went to their desks, other just stayed standing by their friends. Regardless of what they were doing they still chatted loudly. Leaving her alone with the homeroom teacher. Who immediately stood beside Rai.
"Alright, hurry up! You guys are behind a class, and we have a new student, chop chop!" The teacher clapped her hands.
She smiled at Rai, sharing the same height as the brunette.
Her new teacher had her ginger hair cut short, boy short, and black framed glasses on the bridge of her short and pointed nose. Her jaw was sharp and she had high cheek bones.
Despite her sharp features she radiated nothing but friendly vibes thanks to her bright blue eyes.
"I'm Mrs. Suzuki, welcome to Class 2-2 and Inarazaki," she greeted, her head snapped back at her class. "LET'S GO! COME ON!"
Rai jumped and put a hand over her beating heart.
Then teenagers clamped their jaws shut, a few suppressed a smile, while others smirked at the new meat.
"Okay, obviously enough, we have a new student." Mrs.Suzuki looked to Rai.
She stood and looked at her teacher, who nodded her head at the class. Rai looked from her to her classmates.
"Oh, I'm Ozaki Rai." Her cheeks dusted with a bit of pink.
"Did you any to share anything about yourself?" Mrs. Suzuki pushed, placing a friendly hand on her shoulder.
"Where did you come from?!" One of the students in the front row asked.
"Yeah!" The class agreed harmoniously.
Rai felt her mouth open in awe. The friendly spotlight was a feeling she had long forgotten. Her heart surged, and she smiled.
"I moved from Sapporo."
"Do you have any siblings?" Another classmate asked.
Rai attempted to look for the questioner but they had already shut their mouth.
"Two sisters, one younger and an older one. She's in the third year," Rai answered. "Asa is in her last year of junior high."
There was a moment of silence.
"Is your older sister hot?" A boy in the back shouted, earning a few snickers from the other students. A scolding look over came Mrs. Suzuki's face.
"Yeah, but she's bi and hates men so good luck with that." Rai smirked with amusement.
"OOOO!" The class teased and laughed together. "Burn!"
The friendly atmosphere was almost overwhelming to her. Not that she was complaining, it was a nice change.
Mrs. Suzuki clapped her hands once, but the class was too busy laughing.
She shook her head in amusement and put her hands in her hip.
"Okay!" She clapped her hands again. Once again she received laughter. "HEY! I'M NOT GOING TO ASK AGAIN!"
The class zipped their lips and she huffed, turning back to Rai.
"Alright, we're just getting into classes for this year so you're not too far behind." Mrs. Suzuki handed her a stack of paper booklets. "The notes are filled into the current date, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask."
Then she pointed to the far back of the classroom, a sympathetic look covered her face.
"Unfortunately, you'll be sitting by Miya. But I wouldn't worry, I'll probably have to move him again."
Rai followed her hand, at the end of it was an offended looking blonde.
His under cut was a dark brown but on top he had yellow hair that swept off to his right side just hanging above his dark eyes.
She made her way over and sat in the empty seat in front of him.
As Mrs. Suzuki launched into the first class, Rai listened while going over the previous notes.
Rai filled in her own notes and was able to stay up to speed with the class.
Her head was bent down over the papers when she felt something hit her head. It wasn't hard but it was noticeable.
With an arched eyebrow she looked over her shoulder, and was met with a smile. But the sincerity was missing.
"Sorry." Miya then twirled his pencil around his fingers. She nodded and went back to work. Until something hit her head again.
Rai looked over her shoulder again, and was met with another smiled which once again was missing the sincerity. In fact, this one was defiantly a smirk.
She shook it off and went back to her notes.
"Okay, you have the rest of the hour until lunch, to work on questions eleven to twenty two. Skip over nineteen though," Mrs. Suzuki ordered and sat at her desk.
The teenagers did just that, and broke out into chatter amongst themselves.
"Um, Atsumu? Can you help me with the questions? I do-"
"Me too?! Another girl chirped earning a glare from the first girl. They both stood and crossed their arms at each other.
"Oh! Atsumu-kun if you're helping, can you help me?!" Another girl asked only for the first two girls to turn their stare down to her.
She squeaked and scurried back to her seat.
Rai pulled her attention from her school work, and watched as they girls started to argue. Spitting words of venom at each other.
She watched with her eyebrows raised in surprise.
"Will you two shut up, I'm trying to get my school work done. I get worse marks then you squealing pigs," Miya sneered in annoyance.
Rai's eyebrows almost disappeared into her hair. The friendly atmosphere was quickly fading.
"Miya! What did I tell you about calling girls pigs?!" Mrs. Suzuki scolded from the front. "Girls, please sit and do your math, if you need help that's what I'm for."
The girls dropped their shoulders and moped back to their seats.
Still watching, Rai looked behind her and watched Miya for a moment.
He was no longer paying attention to the girls and despite his comment about his low grades he was already on question seventeen.
She looked at the numbers and noticed his were different than hers.
After checking, she realized his answers were wrong and using the number he came up with she figured out where he went wrong.
"Miya, the answers are wrong. You're supposed to divided by 'N' not 'T'," she pointed out.
He stopped his current calculations and looked up at her in annoyance.
"What makes you think that Ms. Newbie?" Despite the smile that grew on his face, Miya's voice dropped with the all to familiar mocking tone.
"Back at my old school we already went over this. 'T' is used as the exponent. But you have to multiple it by 'N' first," Rai explained, and when he furrowed his eyebrows she spun in her chair putting her paper on his desk.
"Oh," his fake smile slipped off his face and watched as she rewrote the question and broke it down step-by-step.
"Do you get it?"
He looked at the question then at his paper. Then he erased his answer and did the work again, coming out with the right answer.
"Yeah, I do."
Rai nodded and spun back around, finishing her questions.
Only a few minutes later did the bell ring, releasing the teenagers for lunch.
Rai collected her blazer jacket and walked towards the door of the room.
"Ozaki! Do you have any questions? You got everything down?" Mrs. Suzuki asked, pulling her to a stop.
"Yeah, we already had started that unit of math in my old school so I have no problems with it."
"I saw, thank you for helping Miya. We need him!" A glint of victory appeared in her eyes, and she clutched her fist.
Rai stood, and cocked her head to the side, her eyes brows furrowed.
"Sorry?"
"Oh! Miya is the setter for the volleyball team! The school's well known for their team, if sports are up your alley." Mrs. Suzuki explained.
"I've heard," Rai nodded with a sigh. "See you after lunch." She waved and left the classroom.
As she headed for her lockers she stopped in front of the vending machine at the end of the hall. Her eyes stared at the bag of Wasabi Beef Chips.
Unfortunately for her, she only had a few yen's and she had already promised Asa gari-gari pops.
Rai sighed and approached her locker, only to have an unpleasant realization strike a chord.
She groaned and slammed her locker shut, making a few nearby students jump.
Her lunch was sitting at the house in the fridge.
Biting the inside of her cheek she tried to foresee the conversation with Asa. No outcome was a good one.
Knowing full well Yumena would be pissed at her appearance, she headed for her older sister.
When Rai passed the vending machine again, she glanced at the bags of Wasabi Beef Chips with longing.
But she kept on, and headed into the third year hallway.
Yumena's class was 3-7, something she bragged about constantly. However, she was often reminded by their father, that grades didn't matter, only the effort and outcome did.
Rai glided in between the upperclassmen, and felt a few pairs of eyes on her.
Her older sister's class was at the far end of the hallway, and Rai wasn't even sure she was still in there. For all she knew Yumena could have gone to the store.
As she passed on class, another student walked out of it, and Rai walked right into him.
"Sor- oh, revenge?"
Rai stepped back and looked up in confusion, even more so, annoyance. But as quickly as she grew confused, it disappeared as the voice was processed.
Thanks to her luck, it was the same boy from this morning.
"Hey-" he crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow playfully "-didn't you say you were a second year?"
"Ha, yeah I am. My sister's a third year and I gotta see her," Rai laughed with a soft smile.
The boy laughed with her and looked down the hallways, "uh, do you know what her class is?"
"She's in Class 3-7, I can see it." She pointed down the hallway to the class room. He followed her hand and widened his eyes.
"I gotta go there too," he explained. Then he moved to the side, letting her walk forward.
They started to walk through the hall together, and with his tall build beside her, Rai didn't need to fight to take a step forward.
"Do you have a club you're wanting to join yet?" He looked down at her.
A large part of why the Ozaki children were put into Inarazaki. For the clubs offered. Mainly for the sports, but Rai wasn't what you'd call an All Star at them.
Asa was more of the sports All Star in the family with Yumena having her toes in a little bit of everything.
"Not yet, I've heard good things about all of them though. A lot about the sports clubs here, though." Rai shrugged with a sigh.
"The sports clubs are really good," he laughed and scratched the back of his neck, "that's coming from someone who plays in one of them."
"Basketball?" She looked up at him.
Immediately her face reddened and her eyes grew wide. Her arms started to wave back and forth.
"Not because, uh, I- your really tall that's all and tall people usually play basketball! I didn't assume because of-"
"It's all right," he laughed. "Volleyball, I'm an outside hitter, the Ace."
Rai nodded, it seemed only fit for his build. She looked down at his hands and it only built more evidence. His hands were large and callused due to his club.
"Ah, it's the player tha-"
"Hits the ball after the setter puts it up for them. They usually have the most power in their hit," Rai finished for him, earning a shocked look from the third year.
"Yeah, exactly." He nodded with smile. "How d-"
"My little sister is the sporty one, and my dad is a volleyball nut." Rai explained with a nervous laugh.
The TV was usually on volleyball, mainly because of Asa and their father. But also because no one else dare change it for fear of their reaction.
The two approached the class door, and Rai entered first, looking for her sister.
"Do you see her?" The third year asked, looking around the room.
"Yes, thank you."
The boy nodded and walked away from her, heading into the classroom.
Because she was the only recognizable person, it was easy to find Yumena. Also, she had their grandmother's hair pin sticking out of the half of her hair in a bun.
The length of the pin was thin and made of a dark wood. On the end, sticking out, was a jade dragon wrapped around it.
Attached to the dragon were ivory beads reaching three inches strung on two different strings. A the end of them was teardrop shaped jade jewels set into a black gem.
"Yumie?" Instantly, the older girl stiffened.
One minute she acted as a statue then without warning she whipped around with her eyes narrowed like snake eyes. Her top lip was pulled into a high side arch.
"What are you doing here?" Yumena sneered in slow hiss.
Rai smiled nervously and laughed.
"It's a funny story actually, I got transferred into the third year! So we're classmates now!" She grinned down at her sister.
The third years Yumena was taking to quickly whispered amongst themselves.
"Rai! What do you want?!" The girl gripped the edge of her desk, and glared daggers. If looks could kill, Rai would have died thousands of times over.
"I forgot my lunch."
Yumena twitched her eye. Slowly she took a deep breath with her eyes shut. Then she snapped them open and grabbed her soft green school bag.
She pulled out a money pouch and pulled a few yen's out.
"I want to be paid back tonight-" as Rai took a hold of the money, Yumena kept a strong grip "-and don't think this is going to be a thing. Got it?"
A small bolt of fear ran through the second year and she nodded rapidly.
"Now, leave," Yumena pointed a long finger at the classroom door.
"Thanks Yumie! You're the best!" Rai sang, dashing out of the classroom and down the halls.
Avoiding any staff members, she ran through the school and out the front door. There was roughly half an hour left of lunch, and the walk to the small store was only five minutes. Meaning Rai had around fifteen minutes to eat her lunch once she got back.
She didn't dawdle, keeping a good walking speed that sent the freed hairs from her ponytail, flying.
Without hesitation she grabbed a fish bento and paid, before heading back with the same quick speed.
Rai swept into the classroom and headed for her seat.
"Ozaki?"
The girl's head shot up and she turned around to find the owner of the voice.
In the front left corner was a girl waving at her. She was straddling the desk facing a classmate who had their head held low. A book was laid out in front of them and their shaggy bright brown hair hid their eyes.
The girl had silky dark hair cut in a sharp bob, with bangs framing her forehead.
Rai pointed a finger at herself, while looking around her.
"Yes, you. Come here!" The girl continued to wave her over and received a mumble from the classmate. "Oh shush, Tomi! She's new!"
The brunette walked over hesitantly. Like an wild animal approaching a human.
"Come sit! I'm Fujino Himari, and this here is Hino Tomi. Please ignore their rudeness." She smiled and motioned for Rai to take a seat.
"I'm not rude," Hino sneered without looking up from their book.
A small laugh gurgled in Rai's chest and she took a seat in the large window cil criss cross style.
Thank the stars above for tights.
She unwrapped her bento box and placed on her skirt in the circle of her legs.
"It's all good, Fujino. I've received much worse," Rai assured, taking a bite from her salmon.
"No excuse! Your our friend now!" Fujino declared, with a large smile.
A loud sigh emitted from Hino, and they placed their head on the desk, "friends don't happen right away. It's like a longtime thing, Mari."
"Not necessarily!" She stopped and looked at Rai, who was not the persons to ask.
If that was the mind set, then she'd barely know her so called friend. But building a relationship for a friendship was built on blind trust. Right?
"I mean, I guess. But doesn't mean you can't have goals?" Rai offered, earning a large smile from the female.
Fujino laughed and poked the readers nose, "told ya!"
Finally they looked up and glared, revealing icy blue eyes. Rai watched the two slowly taking a bite of her rice.
Fujino smiled with no fear, all while Hino had their eyes narrowed. Even if Fujino seemed safe, Rai had a sneaking suspicion that if anyone else would attempt what she did, Hino would not give mercy.
"So! Ozaki, you said you were from Sapporo?" Fujino pulled away from the stare off and looked at Rai.
"Yeah." Rei nodded, swallowing a piece of salmon.
Hino looked up and grew wide eyed.
"That's far. Why would you move?" They closed their book slowly, cocking their head to the side.
Rai's gaze drifted to her feet, with an small churning feeling sifting through her stomach. She put her chopsticks down, and closed her bento box.
"Uh, sor-"
"Yeah, why move all that way to be friends with these people?" Miya asked with a smirk, standing on the other side of Fujino and Hino.
The brunet glared at him, then dipped their head, allowing their hair to cover their sight.
Fujino, on the other hand, laughed and hit his arm.
"Oh, 'Tsumu! You're too funny!" She snickered, earning a degrading narrow eyed look from Miya. "Why would she be friends with you? The only friends you have is your team, Mr. Obsessed-With-Vollyball."
He stiffened and looked away with a pink hue growing in his cheeks.
"Osnaki-"
"Ozaki," Rai corrected.
"Whatever-" he waved his hand "-if you want friends, these two aren't the people to be friends with."
She looked at Fujino who had a striking spark of daggers in her eyes, and Hino now cowered in their book.
Miya on the other hand had a smug smirk on his face.
Who was he to tell her who to be friends with? The blood between the three seemed bad, but it didn't mean the it had to be bad for her.
With a fresh start, she wasn't going to screw it up.
"Miya, seeing as your not volunteering and just advising I'll take the thought but Fujino and Hino seem alright. Thanks." Rai hopped off the window cil. She wasn't thankful and he knew it.
His eyes narrowed and he sighed.
"Your loss, but don't say I didn't warn you." Miya smirked and booped her nose before walking off to his seat.
Rai stepped back and grew wide eyed, with a frown growing as she watched him walk away.
"Jackass," Hino hissed at his back, then stuck their tongue out showing off their braces. They flipped his back off as they stuck out their tongue.
"Hino!" Mrs. Suzuki warned, walking to the classroom.
They turned back in their seat and emerged themselves back into their book as the bell rang.
Rai walked around the desk, passing by Fujino and Hino again. The dark haired girl grabbed her sleeve and tugged gently.
She looked up with a closed eye smile.
"Join us for lunch tomorrow again, okay?!"
A small pink hue rested in Rai's cheeks, and her eyes opened with her mouth. Quickly her lips tugged into a small smile.
"I'd like that, thank you Fujino and Hino." She bowed deeply at both her classmates, making Hino raise an eyebrow and look up from their book.
Then she walked back to her desk, ignoring Miya's smirking face as she sat down.
It wasn't until English did she feel something hit her head. The thwack was the same from the morning, but this time she didn't turn around.
She continued writing, and didn't flinch when he did it again.
There was a pause, like the calm before the storm. Then, Miya started to tap her head, shoulders, and back continuously.
Rai tried taking a deep breath, but when he hit the back of her neck she snapped, turning around quickly.
"Do you mind?" She hissed, narrowing her eyes.
"Finally, I thought you'd never turn around," Miya sighed, and pushed his paper forward. "You're getting the answers wrong."
Rai glared at him but looked at her own paper, then at his.
"There's nothing wrong with-"
"You used the wrong one." Miya pointed out, with a smug smirk. The fact that he wasn't even trying to hide it bugged Rai.
She rolled her eyes and check over her work.
"It looks fi-"
"They're is they are, their is possessive and there is a place," he explained. A small snicker escape his lips as he pointed out her mistakes. "Also, what's with your writing? It's so-"
Rai took her paper back and spun back in her seat to correct her mistakes.
"Oh, is Osnaki sensitive about her penmanship? Even I don't have that messy of writing, how the hell was I able to read it from over your shoulder?" Miya teased with a snort.
A violent strike of red spread across her cheeks as she erased her mistakes.
"At least I didn't dye my hair at three AM because I was in a mood," she bit back, earning a snort from Hino.
Rai looked up at them and received a thumbs up. Fujino was also laughing with a few other students making Miya grow red in the face too.
"Hey, settle down! Class is almost over and I want those papers handed in!" Mrs. Suzuki reminded, looking over her class.
"Yes, ma'am!" The class responded in chorus.
As soon as the bell rang, Rai jumped up and headed right for the door. As she took a step forward, but she was held back by her bag.
"H-hey!" She looked over and scowled at her back seat neighbour. With a large smirk Miya let go and she stumbled forward.
Rai watched him for a moment but didn't stay long, the middle school wasn't far from the high school. But Asa was far from a patient person.
Free from Miya's grasp she was out the class door and flying through the hallways. She slammed open the front door and jumped down the stairs.
Her foot slid as she hit the ground, making her arms wave out in circles bringing her back into a standing position.
Rai jogged down the streets, and made it too the middle school in under five minutes.
As she caught her breath, her eyes scanned the grounds for her little sister. She was a lot harder to find than Yumena.
Asa blended in relatively well with her head in her phone so much.
The middle Ozaki child started to search the middle school grounds, but didn't hold any hope. Knowing her sister she had probably gone right home.
"You do know you can text me right?"
Rai jumped with her heart, and let out a small squeal. She turned around to see her sister behind her.
"Asa! Don't scare me like that!" She scolded with a hand over her beating heart.
The girl just waved dismissively and began to lead the way with her nose in her phone.
A small sound of annoyance split Rai's lips as they formed into a frown. She had raced from school and was treating Asa to a treat, you'd think her little sister would be appreciative or at least a little more polite.
But regardless, Rai caught up with her sister.
"Did you drop off your volleyball application?" She looked down at her sister, and even though she had her hair covering her face, there was not a doubt in Rai's mind that Asa was rolling her eyes.
"Duh, that's the first thing I did when I got here," Asa snapped dryly.
A small chuckle came from Rai, and swung her school bag to her front and opened it. As she started to look through her bag, she noticed the damp fabric soaking through her school uniform.
She let a small swear as she felt the wet contents of her school papers.
At the same time, the gears in her head fell into place, working together to light up the light bulb.
"That jerk!" Rai hissed, as she unscrewed her water bottle lid, and screwed it back on properly.
Asa looked up and registered the dark stains of the black bag.
Her one brow raised as she watched her older sister curse and grab her wallet from the bottom of the bag. Thankfully the water had yet to reach the bottom.
"It's your fault for not screwing the lid on properly the first time," Asa tapped on her horizontal screen.
Rai grit her teeth and pulled her bag off her shoulder, letting it hang from her hand.
"It wasn't me."
"Then who was it? A ghost?" She snickered, swiping in her screen.
"A guy in my class," Rai huffed opening the store door for her sister. They headed to the back of the store and once again the older girl opened a door, the freezer door, for her little sister.
They each picked a treat, kiwi for Rai, and pineapple for Asa and headed to the front.
Rai passed the cashier the money and took her change, throwing it into her bag. The coins clanged against her water bottle as they fell to the bottom of the soaking bag.
The sisters unwrapped their treats and silently snacked on the cool treats.
Despite it being relatively cool out, the gari-gari pop dripped down Rai's hand. She licked it off but it kept melting, making it cover her hand with the sticky substance.
Asa on the other hand, who had barely even touched her treat, had a clean hand. Not a single drop of the yellow treat covered her hand.
"You're unbelievable," Rai muttered glaring with envy at her sister who just snickered.
"Girls! Dinners ready!"
Rai patted out of her shared room and out into the kitchen. Yumena was already in there with their mum, helping with the food.
"Asa! I'm not asking again! Dinners ready!" Sara shouted as she put the last bowl of food on the table.
Her dark blonde hair was up in a ponytail, up out of her green eyes.
Wordlessly, Rai and Mosu sat at the table, knowing full well what was about to transpire. When Sara put her hands on her hips, the father and daughter shared a look, it was starting.
"Asa Ozaki! Get in here!" She bellowed watching the back of the couch.
The youngest member of the family got up, and with her head in her phone, she shuffled into the kitchen.
"Here," she announced and stopped at the kitchen threshold.
"Dinner's ready," Yumena repeated in a softer tone, taking a seat at the table. The young girl sat at the table, still tapping away on her phone.
While their mum gave Asa the death glare, Mosu passed his eldest the rice, who passed Rai the veggies.
"Put your phone down, your at the table," Sara said staring at her youngest.
"Oh, so that's where I am." Asa put the phone flat on the table, still tapping on it. Rai and Yumena looked at each other and cringed.
Mosu had already started eating and nearly choked on his food when Sara kicked his shin from under the table.
He looked up in confusion, as he wiped the sides of his mouth.
Sara motioned to Asa, with wide eyes. He followed her gaze and rose an eyebrow. The sight was nothing new to any of them.
He shrugged and mouthed, "what do you want me to do?!"
Rai swallowed her food and nudged her sister while her parents locked their eyes on each other, having a silent conversation.
The girl looked up, and looked where her older sister was discreetly pointing.
Asa but the inside of her check and sighed, shutting her phone off. Yumena then took the opportunity to put a healthy portion of rice onto her little sisters plate.
"So, Yumie-" Rai spoke loudly "-did you choose a club yet?"
"Actually, I did. The photography club, speaking of which-" Yumena looked to her parents "-I gotta go to the school early for the club."
Sara nodded with a smile.
"As long as you have all your homework-"
"Mosu, she's not fifteen," she cut her husband off. Sending a small look over to her youngest daughter.
Rai cringed when she saw Asa notice the look. A small seed of nervousness sprouted in her throat and she groaned when Asa snapped back.
oops.
So now I got two stores posted. Bad idea. But I've had worse.
Trust me, I've got, like, twenty? nah at least thirty other stories in my drafts and docs so...
Like Melted Metal it'll have slow updates. But that's all because of homework. I transitioned from in school to at home.
But Christmas break is coming up so I'm gonna get all my outstanding work done so I can write after schools done for the day. Hopefully then updates to both stories will be more consistent and often.
Haha. I just realized you probably don't know what Melted Metal is. Bakugo X OC, Slowburn check it out if your interested.
Anyways, thanks for reading!
Love ya!
