Part 4c – Senator assassination attempt No. 1

Amidala survived the bombing attack, but lost a close friend because of the same attack. It seemed someone is pulling the strings, and the Force is not yet ready for the events that follow at this time. But why target the Naboo senator ?

-Undryl Stathe, Corellia, 18 days before battle of Geonosis

Undryl had gotten her payment from Bail Organa, and, like he had promised, was also able to get her staffers she had brought along on the task of delivery. Tooges ship was docked at the Jedi Temple landing pad as per her personal request and the Jedi so far hadnt asked the Rishii to leave. Yet.

So Undryl had gone to find something to eat, somehow oddly finding her way through Coruscants underbelly to a local club, known commonly to most that went there as The Outlander Club, which meant a lot of non locals hung out inside. So Undryl being there wouldnt turn heads.

But it also meant that so could RSB agents. Undryl went right to the bar itself, tapped twice on its surface and the barkeeper looked her way, Undryl asked for blue milk and a skuzzie spit or two before settling upon her stool at the bar itself. Before long a young blond haired man with green eyes took the stool next ot her and ordered a simple drink, a wine of some form.

"I hear you are looking for me" Kallus said as he took a long sip of his wine, newly inducted into the RSB after finishing training at the academy on his homeworld, Kallus was a realetively new agent to everything going on.

"I am, did Master Yoda speak to you ?" Undryl said to him

"He did, he mentioned something of letting a prisoner go, he himself said the council would insist on questioning her, but the RSB sent their own agent. Things went wrong, and now he said he that he was sending an agent of the councils choosing, I think he means you ?" Kallus said

Undryl smirked and nodded. Kallus was not expecting a giant Tooka to be his contact. Not in the slightest "I need you to get me into the jail system, I am a Jedi, having you there will give me greater leverage, RSB agents even as low in the totem pole as yourself still get greater access then other agents" Undryl turned her beady eyes to look at the human before her, already wishing she was still human and even as a Jedi, be at least somewhat able to seduce the guy if she had to.

Kallus choked briefly on his wine and set down his glass then cleared his throat. "You want me to help you break out a RSB prisoner from the most secured place on the planet ?" He asked

"Can you do it ?" She asked him, if he couldnt, she could find another way in if she had to, or at worse, fight her way in, but she hadnt figured out how to use her Forcesaber yet.

"One question: Why ?" Kallus asked her

Well that was easy to answer. "The RSB currently hold a woman named Major Shenniah Twang as a prisoner there for Interregum need concerning the death of Undryl Stathe of Corellia." Undryl said, she looked at him, "Am I right so far ?"

"So far, yes, but you still havent answered my question" Kallus eyed her carefully

"I need to break Major Shenniah Twang out of jail before tomorrow morning. Get me into that jail, and I will handle the rest." Undryl told him.

"On what grounds ?" Kallus asked her while giving her the stink eye.

"Would you believe that some serious shit is going to go down tomorrow and she will be the least of the RSB's worries ? Shenniah Twang needs to get back to Corellia to resume her duties as a member of Cronet's Heros. And if you cannot help me, I will find my own way in" It wasnt the best reason, but for now, it was her only reason.

His eyes narrowed "What do you know about tomorrow ?" He asked her. How did she know that the senator from Naboo was coming to Coruscant the next morning ?

"Uh..." What was happening tomorrow other then that Naboo Senator showing up for the Senate debate on the sepratist crisis ? "Elucidate if you dont mind"

"A important Senator is coming from Naboo tomorrow morning, all the RSB agents in the sector are told to ensure safe passage, if anyone finds out that an RSB agent let a prisoner free." Kallus started to say but Undryl cut him off.

"Simply stated the Jedi had need of her services personally, and I should know, because I need her sooner than later." Undryl gave him a careful look with her beady eyes. The former human woman could make cute and cuddly a very dangerous and deadly if she had to.

Kallus thought a good long moment, then nodded. "Fine, I can help you get into the jail, but the squads on duty I do not know, they're not on my paygrade."

"In other words you outrank them or they outrank you ?" Undryl looked at him, Kallus smirked, he was outranked, but a Jedi wasnt. "Just get me inside, I will do the rest. I will also need a place to sleep, so acting as if you just arrested me could also work."

"What ?" It wasnt the first time he had smuggled in somebody, the last time he had smuggled in anyone into a RSB building was because they were infact looking for a job. It was partly what got him the induction into the Coruscant branch. "Nevermind, meet me here, and I can get you inside, there's a staff room there you can use to rest for the night. But you have to have Major Twang out of that cell and off Coruscant as quickly as you can, though RSB might lock down everything on or off Coruscant for certain ceters when the senators ship arrives."

"I have a vessel, cleared by the Jedi and BoSS, you need not worry about me on that angle. Anget Kallus." Undryl said simply, she took the address he pointed out to her and comitted it to memory.

Night fell across Coruscant, and as the last rays of the sun faded away into darkness, its trailing light found Undryl walking off a hoverbus to the RSB jail zone. "You're sure you're going to be alright in here ?" The taxi driver asked her, Undryl smirked and waved him off, the perks of being a Jedi were great.

Kallus was waiting for her at the gate as she was let through. "We have to make it look good, hold out your arms." He said as he held a pair of wrist binders, he was right, to smuggle her into the jail properly she had to look the part of recently arrested. "Do you have an act thought up ?" He had suggested thinking up as reason for her getting arrested and taken to that location of all places.

"Yeah, its not like stealing that bus was a good plan, how was I supposed to know it had a lojack code on it to track me down ?" At least you're better then the last guy, hey dont pinch!" Kallus had to smirk, Undryl was acting as if she had just gotten arrested for stealing a Coruscant taxibus.

It was an alright type of cover but it wasnt the best. So Kallus played along. "whatever your reasons are, stealing a taxibus was not the best idea. I've seen ameturs do far better then you." he said, giving her a wink. Undryl knew it was just an act but still the binders pinched.

"Warning: binders are dampening effect of force abilities as long as they remain on. Use of force based abilities are now three times more difficult." Came the soft melodic choirlike Voice of the Force.

"Thanks Jedi Master I'll have to remember that." Undryl thought as Kallus took her inside and did the processessing, he also listed it as part of a training session for the RSB agents on duty. So it wasnt an offical arrest but it was a part of a drill proper. Undryl was then let lose from the binders once safely inside the agents break room.

"The Agents dorms are down that way, the cells are one level below us. I need to find out what cell Major Twang is in, get settled in and I'll get you the info to your datapad." Kallus said to her, Undryl thanked him and went to the doors, finding one labeled "VISITING AGENTS" she entered it and locked the door behind her. Kallus could unlock it, or even another agent could.

Now she could plan the next part of the plan. Which she chose to instead simply play it by ear. Undryl needed to have Shenniah at Tooges ship, or at least on it and his preflight finished by the time she explained everything to the council in the morning.

But then she felt that she didnt need to explain anything. She was a Jedi and following the will of the force was her goal. And if that meant that she had to break her friend out of prison and get her back to Corellia, then so be it. She sat down on the bed to meditate, she had to figure out how to get Shenniah out of jail safely witrhout causing a ruckus.

As she sat however, the holo went off with an incoming connection. Flicking her ear towards it the holoactivated and Undryl saw not just Master Yoda, but the Council as a whole, minus certain members of course, in this case Mace Windu was present, along with Plo Koon, and then a Master that Undryl felt she should know, a Zabrak named Eeth Koth, and then a green skilled miralian named Baris Offee.

"Masters" Undryl said in greeting, she found that they were arranged around her as if they were in session, which then had her, in holographic form, seated on a coushin in a meditative stance. "I was not aware the council wanted to speak to me"

"Yoda spoke of your plight to us this afternoon after you had left the Temple grounds." Plo Koon said before Windu could speak. "He sent you to speak with and befriend the RSB agent, Kallus"

"Suggested I did, send I did not" Yoda spoke up slightly correcting Plo Koon who smiled behind his mask. "Mention you to Agent Kallus I did, suggest also he aid you, choose he did to meet with you on his own"

Trust Yoda to get to the bottom of things. "Then why this meeting ?" A good half the council was present if not more.

"There is a problem brewing and we need your help. Tomorrow morning the senator from Naboo comes to Coruscant, at the same time we have to go to a meeting with the Chancellor" Mace spoke up "Its possible that the galaxy will be split by some way, soon."

"My help ?" Undryl asked, she tilted a ear in thoughtful confusion. What good could she be ?

"By going to the RSB jail and HQ, you are now in a position to ensure that the RSB do not interfere with our affairs, the RSB was to work with us and allow us to send an agent to look into a recent event, unforunately they overstepped us and ignored our requests for comment or input whatsover." Eeth Koth said, the Zabrak regarded the Tooka woman with calm eyes.

"What must I do ?" Undryl asked

"Because you are a Jedi, but also do not dress like one when in public, which we have agreed to disagree on and allow you to continue to do, when you free a certain prisoner you are to return her here to the Temple, to this chamber as quickly as you can." Mace spoke up again.

Undryl nodded, her original briefly thought plan was to take Shenniah to Tooge directly and get her safely settled aboard his CR90. "I think I can do that. My original plan was to get the prisoner off of Coruscant as quickly as possible, I have a ship at the Temple's landing pads as it is"

"A reliable pilot, Tooge is, trust him with our plan, I feel we can" Yoda said simply

"What plan ?" Undryl asked, as a woman stepped into view. A woman Undryl had only remembered reading about in the Holonet on her datapad or on the kitchen table the last few months and years. The woman was a Jedi Librarian type, clearly human by all standards, but also apparently quite young too, also dressed unlike a normal Jedi yet still Jedi like..

"Master Kara Kall, this is" Yoda said "Explain to you, her needs, she may"

"Thank you master" Kara said simply, she turned to the holo as Undryl viewed the now by Tooka standards, very beautiful human woman, a very brief unnoticable pang of jealousy was felt in Undryls heart but she squashed it before it could grow. She missed being a human but there was nothing more to be done.

"Your ship here at the Temple provides the perfect convayence off the planet. I explained to the council about nightmares I have been having, and we have come to the conclusion that I am to start a second Temple safely away from Coruscant, away from the constant debating in the senate, I fear things will go darker then expected and even the younglings will be at risk." Kara spoke and explained her nightmares, younglings shot at by blasterfire and cut down.

Undryl thought a long moment. "A CR90 is not exactly a big vessel, but then again Tooge's vessel isnt meant to be small for what he uses it for. Hes the only one in it that flies it, its basically his home from the way he treats it." Undryl said thoughtfully, perhaps she could convince Tooge to take a handful of Jedi, and a bunch of Younglings, infants and toddlers and young preteens perhaps ? To another planet for their safety. A one way trip actually.

"Its the only chance we have" Kara countered simply. Her voice alone made Undryl realise that there was indeed more at stake then simply rescuing Shenniah. She nodded then

"Alright, You have a solid plan, give Tooge the number of people total with you going on this trip, and the planet you wish to go to. Let him know that I will owe him a favor, he'll know who you mean" Undryl said

"He will ?" Kara asked

"Yes, just say the Tooka owes you one and he'll understand. Now I have a prisoner to free. I will see you all in the morning ?" Undryl said, there were some nods, but not many. Kara Kaal looked the most relieved. She, like the presently on leave to return to her family Cynthiana, favored a staffsaber. A rather elegant weapon of a sort.

The hologram faded after goodbyes were exchanged. The night was going to be an eventful one for certain.

An hour of mediating passed and Undryl just couldnt shake the feling shit was just going to get worse. So she dicided to do the next best thing and access the holomap that Kallus had provided for her. If Kara had convinced Yoda to allow her to take a handful of newborns, Younglings, padawans and some disheartened Jedi to another planet to start a small academy off the books, Undryl could provide them passage with Tooge.

But the question then arose, was Tooge up for it ? Would he himself want to do something like this ? Taking more then just she herself and her staff back to Corellia ? She was torn on what to do for a long few moments. Debating internally on what she should do. Should she help Kara, and get those kids safely somewher else ? What nightmare did Kara have anyhow ?

Undryl took up her comlink, "Tooge" She said

"Here" came his voice, he was quite calm, compared to most things

"How are you with extra passengers with minimal baggage ?" Undryl asked

"How many are we talking ?" Came the question, it was a good question. Kara hadnt told her the exact number of Padawans, Younglings and infants and possible few Knights to go with her.

"How many can you safely carry ?" Undryl asked

There was a moment or two of quiet. "If they bunk up six to a bunk with you, me and Master Vanvaris and his padawan in the bridge I can safely ferry forty more people." Tooge finally got back to her. "Why ? Something going down ?"

"Better make it forty one" Undryl said, "We're gonna need you and your ship to get a prisoner off Coruscant and fast. Agreed ?" Undryl was now playing her plan entirely by ear, if it worked, then it worked, if not, they were screwed.

"Forty one people ?" Tooge asked, "Who exactly am I ferrying and where would they like me to ferry them to ?"

"Jedi for the most part, under agreement of Yoda, the group will consist mostly of younglings, most likely they will be infants, some padawans and some Knights to care for the infants along with one Librarian from what I understand," Jedi normally did not have a lot when it came to personal belongings, so minimal luggage save for baby care items was the must have part of things.

"Jedi huh ? That leaves minimal baggage to cart along which will help free up space. Alright, its a deal then. When do you want to be ready to leave ?" Tooge said in reply as Undryl could pretty much hear him nod on the other end

"I have a prisoner to get from RSB HQ here on Coruscant, as soon as she is safely aboard your vessel I you can begin preflight checks, that way I will be the last aboard. It might not happen until first thing in the morning, but the RSB will be all over the skies tomorrow because of a senator enroute. Agreed ?"

"Hey, you heard me say it was a deal, Let me handle things concerning my ship, you get your prisoner aboard and I'll be ready by time the last of the bunch are aboard. See ya in the morning" Tooge signed off, Undryl didnt know it but the Rishii native had infact headed for his bunk to get it ready for the Jedi who would be using it.

In the mean time, Undryl began getting things ready on her end. For the most part she went over the holographic map the HQ had to get a full idea of where everything was, and also where Shenniah was being kept. Undryl tried not to laugh when she saw the current mug shot of her friend and old bodyguard and for a brief day, bodydouble. They didnt even let her change her clothing ? Undryl wondered, some way of running a jail!

Once Undryl had her route mapped out she curled up on the bed, Bail of course was going to give her hell for this mess but it was Jedi business. And therefore, a Jedi matter. Though Bail worked with the Jedi on many occasions himself. But she knew he would still give her hell for it. Getting caught, for an exampler, stealing a taxibus was possibly the most wrong move a Jedi could make. Unless it was part of a plan.

Undryl was going to need Agent Kallus to explain the plan to Bail at the best possible time, or better keep him entirely in the dark, saying its only Jedi business and shouldnt be an issue if that. At least she hoped as much. With that out of the way she memoriesed the floorplan of the structure and then also noted down when the first questions of the day were to be asked of Shenniah. Then she curled up on the bed and went to sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a trying day for sure.

Eight hours later and Undryl snapped awake, the RSB building rarely slept so getting Shenniah out of there without a firefight was not going to be an easy task. Upon waking up she got herself some breakfast and also found a bit of information, the Senator was enroute, and had just dropped from hyperspace.

Undryl smirked, she moved the holo timer of the Senators arrival point to the estimated landing time. And Undryl knew full well she had to have Shenniah back and safely on Tooge's ship by the time the Naboo Senator's ship had landed and everyone had debarked.

In terms of time keeping it gave Undryl just over forty minutes to get Shenniah from the jail to Tooges ship, or rather, thirty minutes because if she had it planned right everyone Kara wanted to take onboard would be onboard within ten minutes of Shenniah being settled aboard.

That meant Undryl had only thirty minutes, a half cycle on its own, to get Shenniah, and get out of the jail and get her to Tooge's ship. Undryl had the time frame of when the RSB agent was going to grill Shenniah, so when the guy found her missing, she'd be safely in the hands of the Jedi.

Across the complex, the RSB agent who had grilled Shenniah the day before was getting his paperwork together for the mornings questions session with the prisoner. If he didnt get what he wanted for his Master, then he was going to have to resort to using torture techniques. And some times he hated going that far. His Master was growing impatient, and it was only a matter of time before his own master got involved.

But thankfully the whole sepratist crisis was keeping the RSB, and the Chancellor as well as the overall senate as a whole quite busy. A huge debate over military power, military spending, the works.

And the key vote belonged to a certain Naboo senator.

The agent smirked, he was going to get the answers he sought, even if it was proven a lie to begin with. And that meant he had to extract a confession, but the facts just did not add up. He had everything he needed from Shenniah, so why one more day ? It confused him and he wasnt sure exactly where it was going or what would be happening once he got what he wanted. What was to happen to Shenniah Twang anyhow when this was over ? She was guarding, and also dressed as, Undryl Stathe, the daughter, at least former daughter, of the CEO of Corellian Engineering Corporation, a civilan market when it came to starships and transports.

So what importance was Undryl Stathe, did Shenniah know her secrets ? That was what the agent was to try and find out. But without going into torture techniques, he couldnt find out much more then what he was so far able to decern. Which lead to issues, lots of them.

If he had to resort to torture techniques, he did not want to reveal his abilities, not on Coruscant, not until his Master said he was to do so. Nobody was to know who the agent really was, to them he was simply know as Agent Spook, the Ghost of Coruscant, or some such. But nobody questioned his methods if they got results. He could try that day to get the confession and information he sought, he surmised as the notice went off of the incvoming Senatorial vessel and its escorts. Right on time. He could be easily bored ensuring the senator was safe, this was the safest place in the galaxy if one was lucky enough.

Once he had his paperwork together he noted the time, and then headed for the cells, stopping in the main office he said to an aid "Bring up the prisoner in cellblock C33 to interrogation block T24"

"Yes sir" the aid said, but it was only a minute porior that Undryl had released the prisoner the man sought to speak to.

At that very moment, or rather just a minute before, a glass wall kept the two women apart, one a cat the other a Corellian human "You dont look too good. I thought the Jedi were caring for you, not the RSB" Undryl said seeing the condition Shenniah was in.

"You dont know the half of it" Major Twang replied, "The guy that's been questioning me is not a Jedi, he is... I doubt he's even RSB to begin with."

"Nevermind that we dont have a lot of time, do you have everything ?" Undryl asked her, she took stock of Shenniahs current affects. Trhe woman only had the gear she was supplied with minus blasters or even her preferred rifle. This was going to be fun. At least Shenniah was presentable, and getting a new outfit was not the current need. "Huh, after so long I didnt think you'd still have it."

Shenniah then saw Undryl as she stepped into view, the harsh lighting dimmed somewhat as the Tooka woman looked for the controls, a smirk on the Tookas face as she withdrew her forcesaber. She had repaired it during the flight from Corellia to Coruscant. A flick of it and the glasslike blade slashed the controls with a sharp hiss of raw energy

Typical of a Forcesaber. "So a Jedi is busting me out ?" Shenniah asked

"More like a Jedi is helping you get back home where you belong" Undryl replied, "Get up, come on, lets go!" Undryl urged her. Shenniah snagged up her boots and slid one on, then the other with practised ease and the two of them left the cellblock.

Undryl checked her watch, she had spent ten minutes, she had twenty minutes to get to Tooges ship. The two women headed for one block, then another as Undreyl typed on a datapad, Undryl informed Kallus that Shenniah Twang was safely in the hands of the Jedi, safe and the Interogeum could safely end. Shenniah twang was innocent and requested back at her squad on Corellia within the day.

Five minutes later and the agent was upset, when he found out his intentions were dashed he was not just upset, but scared for his own skin, what would his Master do ? Thankfully, nothing, there was more concern about the Naboo Senator then anything else.

Once the taxibus was underway, Undryl checked the holotimer, the senators ship model was nearly at the dock it was to land on, the hovering landing pads were useful things, but also dangerous things. Plus it was incredibly cloudy too where the Senator was landing. What was the pilot thinking ?

It didnt matter. By the time the taxibus had gotten to where they were expected to be and Shenniah safely aboard Tooge's CR90, Undryl looked at her clock, the vessel was undergoing landing processes, which meant it was ten minutes to lift off. Ten minutes and that ramp on the Naboo senators vessel would lower and the senator would exit.

Ten minutes, the calm before the storm, the final ten minutes of a reletively calm galaxy. Because what happened after those ten minutes was going to spiral the galaxy into chaos for years to come.

And Undryl just didnt know it yet. But as Kara came into view carrying an infant, Undryl then knew, Kara wanted her daughter, who was strong in the Force, to be safe from the horrors ahead. Offering to carry the baby as Kara looked ready to collapse as it was, the Moorjan Human woman gently handed the Tooka the infant who briefly cried as Undryl took hold of her. With a Padawans help, Kara and the rest, a good forty people exactly, ten infants barely a year old, fourteen children, six teenagers, and ten adults, all ready to go on this new venture.

And the only people that knew where they were going was Yoda, Mace Windu, Undryl, Tooge, and Baozi.

The Galaxy was about to break

As Undryl stepped up to the ramp she looked out, briefly unsettled by something and saw a plume of fire, something just exploded. Wonderful. Undryl climbed aboard the vessel belonging to Tooge and closed the ramp. "We're in! Hit it!" She said into her comlink as she followed Kara and a Padawan to a room and gently laid the baby, a girl that Kara had named Kira upon a crib.

Undryl couldnt help but smile, already wondering if she could have kittens of her own, but then she briefly as it came dismissed the thought and took her leave of Kara to see to Tooge on the bridge, they had a job to do.

"Lanes are scrambled due to an attack on the senator of Naboo's own ship, RSB is questioning everyone they can in any lane heading that way or on that level. But so far nothing." Tooge told her.

"You're working with the Jedi on Jedi business, the RSB has no control over that, BoSS clear you ?" Undryl said as Kara stepped into the bridge, her baby in her arms

"BoSS cleared us twenty minutes ago and are just waiting for us to get off the ground so they can clear this pad for someone else. Everyone settled., Madam Jedi ?" Tooge asked seeing Kara.

"For now yes, can you at least get us to Corellia for the time being ? We need only a few moments from arrival to get our bearings and decide where to go from there"

"Sure thing, since we're heading to Corellia anyhow," Tooge smiled, or at least tried to smile as much as a Rishii, a humansized bird, could smile. "Sit back, relax, and enjoy Tooges Cruises!" He chirped, it made Kara smile and the padawan with her, a young girl by look of it named Tanya chirp briefly in laughter, it wasnt easy to not laugh, Tooge made anyone smile with his antics alone.
