Chords of Love: Ballad to Various Loves
Chapter 8
It had been a few days since the Boney Island trip and there hadn't been a challenge but that didn't mean things weren't difficult. Though difficult wasn't entirely the correct word, odd was a bit better.
It was a bit odd on two fronts. The first front was Gwen and how at times she kind of dazed out as if heavy in thought. She kept assuring him it was nothing but a part of him felt like it wasn't quite nothing. The other front was Lindsay and how she seemed to be ignoring Gwen and was upset with her.
Of course he tried to ask but all he got was a sigh from Gwen and for her to tell him it was a 'girl issue' for now.
He could only sigh while he walked back into his cabin after his morning job and early morning shower only for it to turn to a groan as he could hear the loud whir of a helicopter blades before the cabin shook a bit due to it flying low over them.
"Well…that's one way to wake up" Duncan groaned out, clearly annoyed by how loud a wakeup call it was. (*1)
"At least its better than him yelling at us over the speakers first thing" Geoff added with a yawn while the guys started to slowly get out of bed.
Over in the girl's cabin they were just as annoyed by the way they were being woken up, Leshawna most of all as she sat up in bed only to bang her head on the bunk above hers. "Okay, that dude is really starting to get on my last nerve!" Leshawna growled out, rubbing her head while glaring up at the ceiling of the cabin as they could hear and feel Chris make a couple more passes over them.
"Oh whatever, he just loves ruining our mornings" Heather said with a yawn, not too bothered by it since it was becoming the norm. "Beth, Lindsay, go warm up the shower for me…now!" she ordered after they just stood there doing nothing. "And remember!" she warned before Beth sighed.
"Not too hot this time, I know…" Beth repeated, yawning a bit before begrudgingly getting out of bed to start it for her.
Gwen frowned as she got up and looked over at Lindsay, raising a hand to at least wave to the girl before Lindsay ignored her. 'Ugh, I can't believe I'm thinking this but….I liked it better when she wouldn't stop bothering me' Gwen thought with a sigh before deciding to get ready for whatever the hell Chris had in store for them.
Though the day for the girls continued to stay pretty crappy as all of them except for Heather were waiting in line, all needing to pee but unable to go in seemingly because of Heather.
"What's the hold up!?" Bridgette asked while she was hopping from one foot to the other to help her hold it in.
"Heather needs her private time" Lindsay told them, her tone apologetic before Courtney groaned.
"Okay, enough of this. Heather cannot command the whole bathroom just cause she has to shower. If she has the door locked we have Eva" Courtney declared only for Eva's patience to be gone before she walked up to the door, moving Beth to the side just before she kicked it. (*2)
"Excuse me! I'm using the showers here!" Heather yelled out, poking her head out only to freeze once she saw Eva glaring at her.
"And we need to pee so deal with it!" she declared before the other girls rushed in behind her to use the bathroom.
As the girls walked out, done with their business and no longer tense from holding it, they paused as the loudspeakers squeaked on.
"I hope you are ready for the most challenging challenge yet! Breakfast in three minutes at the campfire pit" Chris announced to all of camp.
"Well….wonder what he has in store for today" Duncan grumbled as the guys finished getting dressed and made their way to the campfire pit.
Naruto smiled over to Gwen beside him, able to snag a seat beside her easily without seeming too odd given the teams were kind of somewhat mixed amongst themselves. Gwen seemed happy to see him, giving him a warm smile before Chris showed up at the campfire pit.
"Are you all ready for today's extreme max impact challenge!?" Chris yelled, trying to hype them up with some dudes cheering, excited for something intense since dodgeball was the last real physical challenge.
"Incoming!" he yelled before quickly throwing a can at Gwen, Naruto quickly catching it moments before it hit her in the face.
"Close call there" Naruto whispered with a smile, handing her the one that almost hit him before catching the one Chris threw at him without even looking. "Going to have to try harder than that to hit me Chris" he told the host, getting him to 'tsk' as if disappointed he didn't blindside him.
"This is breakfast" Chris added, tossing more cans of beans to everyone one by one.
"No, breakfast is crepes, croissants, or even Chef's crappy burnt eggs" Heather told Chris only for the host to ignore her and continue to toss out cans.
"Today's challenge is about survival. We're going hunting" Chris announced, pulling out a green paintball gun from behind his back.
"Now that's more like it" Duncan said as he quickly became excited at the prospect of some shooting.
"Isn't that a paintball gun?" Harold asked after moving to stand beside the host to get a closer look.
"Why yes Harold, it is" Chris told him before shooting him in the chest and sending him falling backwards to the ground.
"So we won't be killing anything?" Bridgette asked, this quickly raising her spirits after fearing she would have to quit the challenge or refuse to take part in it. The utter last thing she wanted to do was hurt any animal and was ready to refuse to take part in any challenge that asked her to do so.
"Negatory! This is the first ever paintball deer hunt. I'll announce the teams once we head out in the woods so…finish breakfast" Chris told them, kicking over a box of can openers and spoons for them to use.
"Cold beans, can't say its too bad. Could be worse" Geoff muttered, opening up his can and plopping down on a stump.
The guys were quick to finish their beans, wanting to get to the good stuff of the 'awesome' challenge while the girls were a bit slower either out of not being too into beans or just it being their normal pace.
Once everyone who wanted to eat was done they followed Chris into the woods to where he led them to a board that had eight paintball guns hanging on it, four red and four green, and a trunk below them.
"Since the teams are now balanced here are the breakdowns. Killer Bass hunters are Harold, Geoff, Bridgette, and Eva locked and loaded with bass blue paint" Chris begun, tossing the green rifles over to them. "And using orange paint are Gopher hunters Leshawna, Beth, Katie, and Lindsay" Chris continued while tossing the red rifles over to them.
"You also get these stylin' glasses and wicked camo caps" he said, modeling a pair of see through orange safety goggles. "The rest of you on the other hand…are now deer" he revealed with a smirk.
"Here are your antlers, noses, and little white tail" he teased, holding up pair of antlers attached to a tan headband and small red nose before turning around to reveal a deer tail attached to a belt that he had on.
"Yeah right, I am not wearing that" Heather refused, crossing her arms and looking at Chris like he was insane.
"There is no way I'm a deer" Duncan said before Chris quickly put the antlers, nose, and glasses on him.
"Take those off and your team is toast" Chris told him while also putting the tail on him.
"Huh, a fox with antlers. You some kind of new breed of jackalope or something?" Gwen asked with a smirk as she watched Naruto put on his gear. The way he wore the antlers, the headband around his forehead it made the antlers pop out through his hair, almost making it seem like they were actually attached to his head.
"Wouldn't be surprised if there is a taxidermied fox with antlers somewhere in the world" he told her with a shrug, smirking back at her. "Shame we don't have any teal or black hairspray to make your tail match. Got to say you make a cute deer though" he told her peeking over her shoulder to look at her tail before she smiled and blushed a bit at.
"Good luck, try not to get shot" he added in a soft tone so they couldn't be overheard before heading over to join his fellow deer.
"Deer! Off into the woods! I'd get some distance if I were you as you only get a three minute head start" Chris announced, using a starting pistol to signal the start of the challenge with the deer jogging off into the woods to get as far away from the hunters that they could.
-Bass-
After a while of running they slowed down, not wanting to run all day and walked together as a group. Safety in numbers was the plan for now.
"At least they gave us a head start" Courtney said, trying to look on the upside a bit before DJ shook his head.
"I don't know about y'all but I'm out of here" DJ told them before he trotted off like a deer, leaving a confused Duncan and Naruto behind.
"Okay that is just weird…" Naruto said, shaking his head to snap out of it before the three of them continued on.
-Gophers-
"This may be the lamest thing I've ever done in my life" Gwen complained, finding herself in the same boat as Heather which definitely was an odd feeling for her given her extreme dislike for the girl.
"Oh come on it could be fun" Cody said, smiling as Tyler nodded and draped an arm over his shoulder only for them both to pause at Gwen and Heather's stares.
"I guess we'll just catch you guys later…" Tyler said before he and Cody got the message and started off in the opposite direction of them.
-Confession Cam-

"I was so psyched to be a deer. I'm an athlete so this is my time to shine" Tyler said with a smile despite all the bandages and casts he was wearing while in his wheelchair, claw marks on his face and a swollen eye. "You should see me on the track, I'm like a blur" he explained for the viewers.
-Cam End-
"Are you coming?" Gwen asked Heather, looking back to see her sitting on a tree stump and filing her nails.
"No. I'm going to wait for Lindsay and Beth and make them protect me for the whole game" Heather told her while continuing to file her nails, looking over to her as if it should have been obvious.
"Wouldn't that be against the rules?" Gwen asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Do you see a rules person anywhere? Worry about your own fluffy tail" she told her, going back to looking at her nails while Gwen figured going on alone could be for the best, especially if she ran into Naruto.
-Bass-
"And break!" Harold said, them all lifting their hands that they had put on top of one another as a group huddle of sorts before putting on their shades, except for Bridgette who sighed a bit.
"Bridgette, you do realize this isn't us hunting animals right?" Eva asked while putting a hand on the surfer girl's shoulder. "We are hunting other campers with paintballs, campers like Heather" she told her with a smile, Bridgette quickly looking up and growing a smile of her own.
"Oh right! Heather is a deer isn't she?" Bridgette recalled with a smile, putting on her glasses and gaining a mischievous look.
"There you go, just needed a little motivation" Eva told the guys, getting them to chuckle and nod since they doubted there was anyone who wouldn't be excited to shoot Heather besides her two alliance members.
"Start your paintballs! Game on!" Chris declared over the speakers, officially starting the challenge.
-Gophers-
"Alright! Lets go bag some deer!" Beth cheered as Leshawna high fived her.
"Yeah I am so down with that!" she said before the charged out into the woods to find some deer, Leshawna and Katie going one way with Beth and Lindsay the other.
Though it didn't take long before Lindsay and Beth became exhausted, panting and hunched over as they walked through the forest.
"Aw man! We're back to where we started and we haven't seen one deer" Beth groaned out only to hear a throat clear nearby, getting them to look over to see an upset Heather sitting on a tree stump.
"What took you so long!?" Heather asked, crossing her arms as she stared down the two of them.
"Were we supposed to come find you?" Beth asked entirely confused since Heather hadn't told them anything after becoming a deer.
"Hello? Alliance anyone? You're supposed to be helping me!" Heather told them with a sigh. "Now how about you go find me some berries" she quickly ordered, shooing Lindsay away who frowned but walked off. "Actually berries won't be enough, go get me some chips" she added, looking to Beth who looked back confused.
"In the forest?" Beth asked while Heather resisted to urge to bury her face in one of her hands and groan.
"In the dining hall. Now!" she ordered, getting Beth to hunch over with a sigh and walk off. "And not barbeque!" she quickly added before Beth was too far away.

"Okay, Heather can be so bossy!" Beth started to complain, her arms crossed and clearly upset. "And in nature hunters would never go find food for the deer!...Heather won't hear this right?" she worried that she might retaliate if she did.
-Cam End-
Beth's heart was going a million beats per second as she hid under a picnic table in front of the mess hall, holding her breath as Chef came out dressed in trunks seemingly going for a swim. She stayed silent while he walked by, moving back a bit to make sure he didn't hear her before letting out a sigh of relief and deciding now to make a dash for the mess hall.
Only she quickly groaned in pain as she slammed her head on the bottom of the table, widening her eyes and quickly covering her mouth. Chef thankfully only paused for a second before he kept walking, Beth then carefully slipping out from under the table and running in.
She was frantic while she looked around the kitchen, quickly finding a bag of chips and going for the door only to freeze as Chef's outline was growing closer on the door and his whistling growing louder.
Again she went for the closest hiding place which happened to be under another table.
Quietly she watched while he walked past her only for her freeze up again as her tiki fell out of her pocket and clattered on the ground. Quickly picking it up she stayed frozen, hoping he didn't hear her only for him to start sniffing the air which she took as her signal to leave.
Carefully she slipped out from under the table and towards the door only for the floorboard to creak under her which basically meant for her to run!
-Bass-
Naruto yawned as he walked through the forest, keeping an ear out for anything before pausing as he heard a familiar voice whining. "Oh dang it, I dropped another one" Lindsay whined, Naruto peeking over a bush to see Lindsay crouched over picking something out of a bush
"Lindsay? What are you doing?" Naruto asked, somewhat startling her before she turned around and smiled brightly at him.
"Naruto! Oh you look so cute as a deer~!" Lindsay squealed before she ran up to hug him, giggling as he once again made sure not to stare like he always did.
"I'm glad you think so, not many guys can pull of a tail like this" he joked, carefully hugging her back since with her size he was nervous about pressing them even more against him than they already were.
He though took a double take for a second before looking down at her once he realized something. "Wait, did you call me Naruto?" he asked with a raised eyebrow before she pulled away and happily clapped her hands while excitedly bouncing.
"Yes! I've been practicing a whole lot to remember your name and I finally can remember!" she happily boasted, putting her hands on her hips and puffing out her chest in pride which caused him to blush and cough into his fist a bit before chuckling.
"Well you did great Lindsay, I am really proud of you" he told her, petting her head given that was the only 'safe' part to touch and smiling at how she smiled from it.
"Though more importantly what are you doing? Aren't you supposed to be hunting deer, aka me?" Naruto told her, looking past her to see a pile of blueberries on the ground and quickly felt where this was going.
"Well yeah but Heather wanted some blueberries so she sent me out to pick them for her" Lindsay muttered with a frown, about to get back to it before Naruto stopped her.
"Lindsay, why do you listen to Heather? She is literally just using you and is going to throw you away the second you stop being useful to her" he warned her since he really didn't want to see Heather stab her in the back. "I also know how you weren't happy with what she almost did with Gwen's diary so why keep working alongside her?" he added, looking her in the eyes as she frowned and looked down at the ground.
"But if I leave Heather then I won't have anyone to help me...and Heather would get really angry" Lindsay muttered before he made her look back up at him.
"Lindsay you are a sweet girl, I highly doubt anyone on your team doesn't like you and wouldn't look out for you, plus you have Gwen by your side" he told her, getting her to pout and look back down at the ground.
"I don't know…we kind of had an argument" she grumbled a bit while Naruto just nodded.
"Yeah I could tell, Gwen will only tell me its about 'girl issues' and while I might not be a girl I can tell you this," he started as he took her hands in his and gave them a soft squeeze "just talk to her. I'm sure if you two just sit down instead of refusing to talk to one another everything might get better, or at least better enough to where you two can be there for each other" he told her while she frowned and looked up at him.
"Plus I don't think she is angry, she wants to talk but is nervous I think. Make the first move and I think it'll mean a lot to her" he suggested, giving her a soft smile before she grumbled and put her forehead against his chest.
"I guess I'll try…only cause of you" she pouted before she stepped back, picked up her gun and a few blueberries seemingly for herself. "You want some before I go?" she asked, holding one out to him before he took it from her.
"That sounds great, good luck with Heather, be brave" he encouraged her, eating the blueberry as Lindsay nodded and hurried off.
'Well….I hope I didn't make things worse' he thought with a frown, hoping for the best since he had to admit he liked that Gwen had a friend and ally in Lindsay and wanted to do his best to help it stay that way. Plus he really didn't want to see a sweet girl like Lindsay continue getting taken advantage of by Heather.
-Gophers-
Beth panted in exhaustion as she felt she was far enough away from Chef before she stopped, suddenly gaining a look of realization before she started eating the chips.
-Confession Cam-

"So I'm running for my life from this psycho chef when all of a sudden it hits me! I'm doing this for Heather!? I don't even like her!" Beth yelled in the confessional, reaching her boiling point and then some over everything that had happened today
-Cam End-
"Whoever you are go ahead and shoot me, you can't make this day any stinkier" Beth said, not having any part of anything right now as she walked through the forest with Cody hopping out from the bushes beside her.
"You're a hunter and I'm a deer. Slight food chain issue with me shooting you. How goes it?" Cody asked Beth, worried a bit about her since she seemed incredibly upset.
"I am so done with this game!" she yelled out with a sigh.
"What happened? Have you bagged any deer yet?" Cody asked her again, trying to figure out what was up with her.
"No but I did risk my life to steal a bag of chips" she told him before she heard a scoff.
"What took you so long?" Heather asked, clearly impatient and upset.
"Here, hope you know what I had to go through to get those" Beth told her, handing her the bag with her and Cody ducking down as Heather snatched them harshly out of her hand.
"There's like 11 chips left!" she yelled before taking a sniff of them and recoiling. "And they're barbeque! Go exchange them for dill pickle" Heather demanded turning her head to the side.
Beth almost reached down to get them before she stopped herself and stood back up. "No" Beth said, standing her ground and getting a look of shock and anger from Heather.
"What did you just say!? Take it back" Heather demanded with a glare while Beth stood unaffected in front of her.
"No" Beth curtly responded, refusing to budge.
"Take. It. Back!" Heather ordered before Beth shook her head.
"No! I'm tired of being your slave!" Beth declared as she slung her gun over her shoulder. "Now if you don't mind I have a challenge to complete" she told her while Cody, who had stuck around through it with her, followed her.
Heather glared furious daggers at Beth before she yelped in pain as a blue paintball hit in her in the arm. "Whoever you are this is so not cool!" Heather yelled only for two more paintballs to hit her in the head and in her gut, knocking her off her stump.
In the distance Harold, Bridgette, and Eva smirked and high fived amongst themselves. As the Bass hunters left and Heather stormed off a deer that had been hiding nearby popped his head out from behind a bush.
"Geez, thought they'd never leave" Tyler said with a sigh before smiling at the bag of chips left behind. "Too bad for them, I love barbeque" he said as he walked off, enjoying the small amount of chips left in it and unknowingly leaving a trail of crumbs behind him.
-Bass-
Naruto smiled as he relaxed against a tree, everything going great on his end so far since no hunters had even come close to him except Lindsay and he doubted she'd actually shoot him.
"So, nothing on your end as well?" Courtney asked, getting him to open his eyes to see her smiling down at him.
"Yeah I have no idea where they are but so far there hasn't been any signs of any Gopher hunters around" Naruto told her, standing up and stretching since if he stayed like that he felt he might actually fall asleep.
"This challenge is seriously disappointing" Courtney grumbled, expecting something better but it was once again just a boring challenge.
"I don't know, it was still pretty fun, would've liked to be a hunter personally but no big. I do have to say antlers look better on me than I thought they would" he joked, running a hand over an antler like he would his hair, getting a laugh from Courtney.
"Come on, lets just start heading back to camp a bit. I mean this challenge has to be over soon" she suggested, Naruto shrugging his shoulders as he figured she was right plus even if it wasn't over the area closest to camp would be the safest given the hunters all spread out from there.
"Sounds go-whoa!" Naruto started to say before he tripped on a rock, Courtney quickly reaching out to grab him only for them to bump heads a bit.
"Ow!" they groaned in unison, both rubbing their foreheads.
"Sorry about tripping and head-butting you there. Are you okay?" Naruto asked as he tried to stand up only to yelp in pain as the headband tugged at his hair.
"Yeah I'm fine but I think we're stuck" Courtney said with a frown, them both looking up to see their antlers locked together. "If we remove the antlers I think the camera crew will tell Chris about it…plus with how yours are under your hair it'd probably hurt a bit to try" Courtney said with a frown at the rock and hard place they were in.
"It'll be okay, I guess we just have to slowly walk back to camp, maybe hope we find another deer on the way to help us?" he said unsure since there wasn't much else to do. "Sorry for getting you in a situation like this" he added, apologizing given it was his fault for tripping.
"Don't apologize, not like you tripped on purpose" she assured him with a smile, her cheeks heating up a bit once she realized just how close their faces were. "N-Now you be our eyes since camp is behind me" she quickly added, looking to her side to try and see as best as she could before they started walking.
-Gophers-
Lindsay frowned as she walked through the forest, half of her hoping she ran into Heather while the other half kind of hoped she didn't.
"I've decided to give you one last chance," Heather said, getting Lindsay to heave over to where she could hear it coming from "if you take it back you can rejoin the alliance" she told Beth, clearly angry while Lindsay wondered what happened.
"Wait, what is happening?" Lindsay asked before Heather glared at her.
"Zip it Lins-idiot!" Heather snapped, making Lindsay frown at Heather being so mean. "So Beth, are you going to take it back?" she asked Beth who just looked confused.
"Take back what? Me saying no?" Beth asked while Heather nodded. "No, I don't want to take it back" she told her getting Heather to furiously glare down at her.
"You are nothing without me!" Heather screamed, Beth staying calm as she looked up at her.
"Do you know why we keep losing challenges? It's because you're so busy being mean that you don't even try! You tried to read a teammates diary on stage just to mess with them, costing us the challenge! In the end all you can think about is bossing us around and trying to make everyone miserable!" Beth yelled back at her, beyond fed up with it as she let out all her anger.
"You know what! I agree! You are so mean Heather! All you do is demand we do stuff and yell at us all day while you be lazy!" Lindsay yelled, getting Heather to look at her in shock. "If Beth is leaving then so am I! This is so not cool anymore and I'm so glad someone helped me decide to get away from you" she declared before moving over to stand beside Beth
Heather gasped in shock and anger before she plucked off her deer nose and flicked it at the two of them.
"Really?" Beth asked with a flat stare, finding that beyond ridiculous which only angered Heather even more.
"Bring it Dweeb! I'm giving you one last chance before I snap!" Heather yelled at them, glaring them down as Beth stared back at her.
"Why? Because you know you can't win without your little alliance?" Beth mocked with a smirk, at both her jab and the fact Heather was starting to turn red with anger.
"I can make your life miserable here!" Heather threatened, getting a laugh from Beth.
"You already do! There is nothing you can do that'll make it worse! What do I have to lose!?" Beth yelled back at her.
"Two hours of sneaking around in the woods and I haven't shot a darn thing. What kind of messed up person does this for fun" Leshawna grumbled as she walked nearby, pausing as she heard yelling nearby.
"Fine! Be all alone then! Loser!" Heather screamed while Beth actually started laughing at this.
"You're the only one who is alone now Heather as I at least have Lindsay by my side" Beth told her, Lindsay nodding with a smile.
"And I also have other friends! You are the only one who is entirely alone here now since no one on our team really likes you" Lindsay pointed out, Heather shaking in anger before an orange paintball hit her in the back of the head.
"Ow! Who was that!?" Heather yelled, turning around to see Leshawna walking forward.
"I knew I should have worn my contacts…sorry bout that" Leshawna apologized before Heather held out her hand.
"Give me your gun!" she demanded before two more paintballs hit her in the backs of her legs. "Ow! Double Charlie horse!" Heather yelped out before falling over due to her legs giving out from under her.
"You girls are crazy" Leshawna said with a laugh while the two of them walked over to her.
"Sorry, it just looked like so much fun when you did it" Lindsay said, getting Leshawna to smile and rub their back before them all laughing a bit.
"Stop laughing!" Heather yelled as she laid on the ground.
Elsewhere in the woods Tyler smiled while he finished eating the chips, tossing the bag to the ground before he perked up once he noticed a pile of blueberries. "Ooo berries!" he said as he crouched down to start eating some.

"I thought it was a cinch to win. I almost made it all the way through without getting hit by a single paintball" he told the audience with a proud smile on his face.

He froze as he heard growling behind him, turning slowly to notice a bear standing up behind him. "Hey big guy….want some berries?" he nervous asked the bear only for it to roar in his face.

The bear groaned as he tried to shake the last few crumbs out of the bag of chips, a broken set of deer antlers on his head and a pair of orange goggles over his eyes. It smiled as it licked the crumbs off its face before sticking its hand through the bag only to frown at the hole at the bottom of the bag.

"Give me that!" Heather yelled, snatching the gun from Lindsay's hands while tossing off her antlers before she started to shoot at all three of them.
"Oh, now it is so on!" Beth declared before she and Leshawna started shooting her with her retaliating and Lindsay, who was now weaponless, hid behind them.
-Bass-
The Bass hunters paused, Eva holding up a hand to get them to wait as they heard yelling and shooting nearby before they all walked towards a bush. They were all a bit confused as they saw Beth and Leshawna shooting Heather while the queen bee had seemingly stolen Lindsay's gun – evident by her hiding behind the ones with guns – and was shooting the hunters.
Eva shrugged her shoulders before they all started to open fire on the three of them, no one seemingly going for Lindsay since she was unarmed.
"You're right Eva! This is fun!" Bridgette said with a smirk before the speakers blared to life.
"Alright human wildlife and hunters! Please report back to camp! It's time to show your hides and tally up the scores" Chris announced before Lindsay took the moment of pause to snag her gun back from Heather with a frown.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Stealing from Chef, eating chips in the woods, getting mauled by bears. Do you know what I see here?" Chris asked after listing off some of the stuff that happened over the challenge while pacing in front of everyone and Tyler who was bound in casts, in a wheelchair, with a blood bag attached to him alongside three Gopher hunters one Gopher deer colored in paint from both teams.
"I see a very undisciplined group. I see a disgraceful mess. I see a massive waste of paint product and I have to say, that. Was. Awesome!" Chris turned from lecturing to laughing as he flipped the mood.
"I have to say when you guys opened fire on your own team. Wicked TV guys" he commended them before Gwen noticed something.
"Hey, where are Naruto and Courtney?" Gwen asked before Katie tapped her on the shoulder and pointed over to the side to see the two of them, antlers locked, walking into camp.
"Sorry we're late guys, hiking through the woods is a lot more difficult than you think when walking backwards" Naruto said, rubbing the back of his head before yelping as he moved his antlers and pulled at his hair a bit.
"Please help get us unstuck, walking here was so difficult" Courtney sighed out before Geoff and Bridgette got them unstuck.
"How did you even get like this? And why didn't you take them off?" Gwen asked while the two of them took the antlers off, Naruto stretching his back due to having to hunch over to meet Courtney's height the whole way here.
"Well long story short I tripped on a rock, Courtney tried to stop me before I fell over on her and we wound up like this" he explained, frowning over to Gwen in hopes she wasn't upset only for her to smile and nod to show it was alright before Chris rose his hand.
"I told the camera crew to mark down any violations so I guess they were being good campers unlike some people" Chris told her, eyeing Heather who didn't even seem to care. "In the end since four members of the Gophers are dripping in paint, some of them who aren't even deer…I think we have our winner! You are off to a hunting camp shindig!" he announced, motioning to the Bass who cheered at the news of the victory as well as the reward.
"Gophers! I'll see you at the campfire ceremony…again" he said as he looked over the gophers with a frown before leaving.
"You are both so dead! You are all dead!" Heather screamed before stomping off.
"Are you three okay?" Naruto asked, having an idea what happened and what caused it since with Heather involved it was pretty obvious.
"You know what? Yeah, we really are" Beth said with a smile, looking up at Lindsay who nodded back before quickly looking around for Gwen only to see her walking away.
"Wait!" Lindsay said as she ran up to her before she left. "Can we…talk?" she asked, nervously smile while she held Gwen's hands in hers.
"Uh…sure" Gwen said, surprised that Lindsay wanted to talk to her but with one look at Naruto and his smile she understood why she decided to. "Though I think you should take a shower first, I'll wait outside the stall for you" Gwen told her before they walked off to the bathrooms.
Gwen couldn't help but roll her eyes a bit at Naruto's actions with a smile on her face. He didn't have any idea what they were arguing about but wanted to help them out since he saw it as two friends who needed to make up.
"He was really sweet, helping me decide to stand up to Heather…I'm still sorry for helping her steal your diary like that" Lindsay told her from within the shower while Gwen sat on the sink countertop, her back to the mirror and her knees up to her chest as she waited for Lindsay to finish.
"It's fine. I was never mad at you, only Heather since Naruto told me how you looked when you found out what Heather had planned" she reassured her before she heard the shower turn off. "So…I've been thinking over what you said before…" she said with a nervous tone, pausing a bit before Lindsay walked out of the shower with a towel wrapped around her chest to cover up.
"And…?" Lindsay asked, her tone just as nervous.
"I'm still not sure as it's asking a lot..." Gwen said before she took a deep breath. "But! I'm going to think it over…" she told her, looking up into her eyes and seeing just how worried she was about her answer.
"I can see your feelings are real and that Naruto is important to you because of how he treats you but this is my boyfriend and you are asking something insane so just…let me think about it. Okay?" she told her, asking Lindsay for this much at least while she stood up off the counter only to grunt as Lindsay quickly moved in for a hug.
"Thinking about it is what I wanted you to do at least…just please consider it" she said, hugging Gwen close to her while Gwen softly hugged her back.
It was an odd moment but not awkward, more tender than anything. It made her feel closer to Lindsay and not in a physical sense despite the fact that there was only a towel between her and Lindsay's naked body.
"I will…now please put on some clothes, it is so weird hugging a nearly naked girl" Gwen said, actually blushing a bit since even she was now staring a bit at Lindsay's cleavage before Lindsay giggled as she pulled away.
"How big are you anyway?" Gwen had to ask since it had been something a few of the girls wondered but always felt odd about asking since it's not really something you just ask out of the blue to a girl you just met.
"I think they are an J cup last I got measured. Could be bigger since my bras are getting a bit tight" Lindsay giggled out, cupping her breasts over her towel with a smile. "Want to feel them?" she asked with a tilt of her head before Gwen turned dark red.
"W-What!? N-No! G-Get dressed!" Gwen yelled as she quickly walked out, blindsided by the offer before closing the bathroom door behind her. She panted a bit, trying to calm her heart before staring down at her own chest. 'Maybe I should drink some more milk…' she thought with a grumble, feeling incredibly inadequate while heading back to the cabin to get ready for the elimination.
-Bonfire Ceremony-
"I mean seriously! What is wrong with all of you people! We are here! Again! I can't wait to see Beth get kicked off! I just wish I could vote off three campers at once" Heather chastised them with a glare, glaring extra hard at Lindsay, Leshawna, and Beth.
"There are only seven marshmallows on this plate, as I call your names come and claim your marshmallow. The camper-" Chris told them before Gwen sighed.
"Who does not receive a marshmallow must immediately return to the dock of shame, catch the boat of losers and leave!" Gwen said at a rapid fire pace. "Can't we just get this over with?" she asked, tried of the same old thing over and over again.
"Fine. Whatever. Spoil the moment" Chris said with a roll of his eyes before one by one he tossed each camper a marshmallow until it was down to Tyler and Heather, the latter surprised that Beth had gotten one.
"Campers this is the final marshmallow tonight" he said, holding it up in the air as he looked the two remaining campers in the eyes while pausing for dramatic effect. "Heather" he revealed, Heather instantly snatching it from his hands.
"You are all lucky okay? Very lucky!" Heather yelled as she glared them all down, a good number of them looking at her like they couldn't care less about her or her threat.
"Tyler, the dock of shame awaits bro…though I guess we can help you get there" Chris said only to remember he couldn't move his arms in his wheelchair.
"I'll do it!" Beth offered, raising a hand to push him there for them.
"Bye Tyler. Just know we did it so you could get medical attention better than what they have here! Everyone on the Bass also hope you get better soon" Katie said, waving off her fellow former Bass while other Gophers waved him off with fellow sentiments…other than Heather who didn't care.
"See you guys, thanks for having me here for this long" Tyler said with a smile, showing he had no hard feelings before Beth rolled him away to the dock.
The Bass frowned as Katie nodded to them once she returned to camp, having told them the Gopher's plans for Tyler.
"Sucks to see the dude go but that's just how it is sometimes" Geoff said with a shrug before Naruto perked up a bit, seeing Gwen motioning for him to come over to her.
It wasn't hard to slip away, a simple mention of the bathroom and people didn't really inquire deeper plus Duncan's fist bump showed he'd cover for him if he stayed out too long.
"Hey, everything okay?" Naruto asked her, putting his hands on her hips as she smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, I just wanted to say thanks for helping me with Lindsay…we are better now thanks to you" she told him as she leaned up to softly kiss him.
"I'm glad, Lindsay is a sweet girl and I kind of like the idea of you two being friends. It gives you a close ally on your team and all as well after all" he explained while he rubbed her sides a bit before smiling as he remembered something.
"Oh yeah I also got you something, just a cute little gag gift since there isn't anywhere to really do anything too much on this island" he started off, keeping her in the dark until he pulled out a deer tail on a belt from the previous challenge only this one was much different.
Instead of brown and white fur it had seemingly been colored teal and black, the mere sight of it making Gwen giggle a bit.
"I borrowed some of Duncan's spray paint, the dude has every color you can think of stashed away in his bags. I know its probably stupid but I thought it'd be cute. I promise to give you something way better when we get off this island though" he told her, getting her to shake her head with a warm smile as she brushed it a bit.
"I'm sure you will but for now this is great, it's adorable. Thank you" she said softly, leaning up to kiss him again only, keeping it going longer to where she had him pushed up against a tree as they made out.
Gwen blushed as she felt his hands move down to her thighs but also found herself liking it, her blush only increasing as his hands continued migrating until they were on her butt. She melted a bit more into the kiss, becoming near putty as she held onto him to keep from falling while he rubbed and softly groped her butt.

"Maybe we can do more of that later, for now, I have to go" she told him, turning around to leave ahead of him. She decided to mess with him a bit as payback for the sudden groping, smirking over her should at him once she was halfway to the cabins before putting on her deer tail and adding a bit more sway to her hips.
Naruto had to smile as watching her walk away was a nice sight and made him chuckle a bit. In the end he was just happy she liked the gift.
'Hmmm I wonder...is it possible to set up a date here without anyone noticing?' he thought to himself since he felt Gwen deserved more than just make out sessions here and there. 'I'd have to steal some food, store it somewhere, find a location, and make an excuse' he listed off in his head before shrugging his shoulders.
'I've done more complicated stuff, this'll be easy' he thought with a smirk, excited to set it up while figuring Lindsay and Duncan might be able to help. He just hoped it'd be a nice surprise for her in the end.

*3 – I went back and forth on whether or not to pick Tyler or Cody to get mauled and after seeing how he was with Beth and everything I decided to keep Cody. Plus I feel having him around makes it easier to make him a bit better you know?

I want you all to think of these little omakes as very lewd, 100% non-canon to the fic, 'what if' situations. Basically 'what if the lewdness was dialed to 10 right here' kind of thing. They might pop up later on even after the girls have started having sex with Naruto as I like these little 'unrestrained' scenes
I had this idea for the omake when I was originally writing the chapter but didn't have any time to do it so, now that I do, I decided to go about writing it and even did another on chapter 10

Another really fun chapter of a story I have been loving to work on recently. The chapters just flow out so easily and its really enjoyable to right.
I didn't have Naruto as a hunter cause I felt deer was the best choice for him as it lets him interact with others like with Lindsay and Courtney. Naruto locking horns with her was cute as I feel she'd react a bit shyly being stuck so close with a guy she really likes.
I decided to have Lindsay leave Heather's at the same time as Beth since due to Naruto and Gwen's influence on her it would make her rethink things and make a better choice.
In the end Gwen is thinking things over. She understands how much Naruto does mean to Lindsay and doesn't want to instantly shoot her down. She just has to find out how she'd fee about it if it were to happen, how would Naruto react, and if it'd fuck shit up between them if she did bring it up.
She has a lot on her mind but don't worry, she'll come to a decision in time as this isn't the kind of thing that she (or I) can rush.
I also really liked their bathroom scene, had a serious heart to heart with a cute funny moment after the serious stuff was over. Honestly Lindsay offering to let Gwen feel her breasts is 100% something I can see Lindsay offering to a good friend of hers like Gwen now is lol
Again, I chose to eliminate Tyler as he's more background than Cody was, he's accident prone, doesn't contribute much, and I feel I can 'better' Cody's character by having him around more.
Also I removed the scene with Beth at the end as this time it was Tyler so she wouldn't blab to him like she did with Cody given Cody was the one who talked with her in the woods and not Tyler. Plus I'm not sure why his mouth was covered at the end despite being able to talk in the confessionals.
