Scurra71900 - Thanks for the review!

Mr Beaver Buttington - Sorry you feel that way but I'm not going to really budge on the usage of it. It'll probably be barely used within the fic as is, more just as a way to display any members HP and MP in a more concise way, at least to me.

hzchb11 - He bonked the lot of them :)

KamiGleen - I wasn't actually sure on how they would interact with each other, but the All-Might stuff might honestly be the best fit right now, I just find it the most funny dynamic when writing it out.

HitGamer22 - Went back and fixed the errors, for some reason I didn't find the obvious ones at first so, thx for the reminder.

merendinoemiliano - Thanks as well!

The next few days consisted of me testing out the limits of the Overlord ability to a much greater extent then before, consistently leveling it and finally getting it to level nine by playing around and extending it.

After the aftermath of fighting those three Alpha Beowolves, Titan had levelled up nearly four times during that time, and as he kept slamming them against the nearby debris and the hardened bark of the surrounding trees, I could see as clearly as ever through the carnage, Titan was loving the thrill of it. The thrill of the fight, the adrenaline and the constant *ping!* of the notifications being spitted throughout the makeshift arena, he was loving it all.

And I wasn't sure what to think of it.

Sure, it was funny to see Titan frequently roll around in evident discomfort from him spending all those Skill Points and Biomass points, even more-so when he was whining and whimpering underneath that itching sensation which I had gradually become accustomed to.

No thanks to a certain blue box...

Nevertheless, I was keeping a keen eye on Titan for the time being, he didn't need any commands to wage a complete massacre against the Alphas alongside me, and that action was burrowing itself into the depths of my mind.

He didn't need any commands to do what he did. That was something my mind was fixating itself on and for good reason!

What else could he do without needing my direction? My insight? I had already known that these "minions" as the System called them, weren't so much as mindless animals, as Titan acted more like... more like the pack that I had in the past, in that he could obviously think for himself (though with that much intelligence, even i'm not too sure about the extent of that), but he will still bow down towards the pack leader, I estimated that the "Overlord" skill just makes this unspoken agreement between the two of us, much more appealing and straightforward then a simple pack would be for him.

[Your thirst for understanding has led you to another conclusion about the inner workings of the System. +1 INT & WIS!]

With this revelation of sorts, it came back to the original point as to the depths of which Titan could go about on his own way. Looking into the party system held no secrets to discover either to help me understand how far it can go, only explaining Titan's new-founded strength and size to me in numerical form. Boring!

I still had to make sure that Titan was keeping up on his Biomass usage, as he consistently made sure that he wouldn't go and spend any of them, and judging from the Aura connection that I held with him, he wouldn't spend any of it, in the fears that... It would upset me somehow?

That was quickly remedied as soon as the thought process came across that Aura bridge, as annoyed as I was that I couldn't directly spend Titan's Biomass from the party screen, I pestered and irritated him enough to the point where he did eventually spend his Biomass. Not all of them! He's been very picky about how and where to spend them in the frankly stupid fear that it would displease his master. Hopefully that would change as I spend more time with Titan but as for now, I'd have to live with it. He spent around five points of Biomass to turn him into the growing behemoth that he was gradually blossoming into.

Whereas before, he was only up to my shoulders in height if he stood at his highest and not the usual, hunched over position that Titan usually showcases, now? Now he was easily about a head taller than me if he stood straight against me. Those brittle, easily broken plates of bone that were littered all across his face and shoulders before? They were hardened, solid and now they were numerous, covering a large part of his arms and shoulders. They were still incomplete I'd imagine, I couldn't directly check the effects of what the Biomass did to Titan after all, but if they were anything like how mine formed, then they were still a long ways away from being the rock solid plates of armor that were observed back on the adult Beringels back in the cavern. At least they looked intimidating!

Titan was well and truly on his way to becoming an adult. It seemed like just yesterday where he was flinging an Alpha around like it was some unfortunate, unruly pup. But seriously though, just how much more dangerous would he become as he keeps on steadily increasing his stats? I really don't want to have to keep my eyes over him constantly to make sure he doesn't just accidentally stomp an animal or two into the dirt.

But that doesn't mean much for now with him, even though he's rapidly gaining size, he's only been with me for a couple days and i'm likely just overthinking it entirely. After all, he's an entirely different species from me and with that, he'll behave in ways that I won't understand at present, not to count all the specific changes to his stats that are directly because of his differing species. Maybe he just has that instinctual need to dive straight into a fight and be at the centre of it because of his innate size and strength.

Or maybe it's just a testament to how little intelligence he has... probably the latter.

Alright, enough introspective for now, me and Titan have been sitting on our behinds for several minutes now and I can see that he's already a big bundle of energy, checking his new bodily features and bouncing around in place like a pup that had completed his first hunt successfully. How could I deny such passion from a follower of mine?

I eventually got up whilst Titan basically leaped off the ground in anticipation of wherever and whatever we were going to be doing next. I directed him to calm down but honestly, I think that's made him even more excited to go out and explore the wider world. He really was like a pup with how he acted. I directed him to go out and level himself up to level fifteen as fast as possible before the end of the day, I was interested to see the new skills that a being like Titan could end up having if he went out on his own to explore, but also because I still needed to explore and discover different skills and powers to use on my own behalf. Even in that last fight with the Alpha's, if Titan wasn't there? I really doubted that I could've survived that encounter with anything intact, and still...

There is no possible way that something as low levelled and as small as Titan should have any strength like that. It was unnatural to say the least.

As soon as the command crossed over into... whatever mental capacity he had in him, he shot off into the woods, leaving nothing but a trail of dust and broken debris behind him.

I went off into the opposite direction, I could always check on Titan's HP with the recent party addition that I received in case he's in trouble. Though, now knowing that he could brawl with three Alpha's at the same time, I'm starting to feel much worse for the unfortunate Grimm that he'll meet on his path, they're never gonna know what hit them.

Half the day had already passed and so far, nothing much has even happened! All I've been doing is killing off the tiny sects of Grimm throughout the forests but even still, they barely give enough XP to justify the annoyance and time spent on clearing them out, never-mind that I still needed to keep track on Titan and to make sure he doesn't die all of a sudden when i'm not paying attention.

Still boring!

No new quests from the system. No guidance. Not anything of relevance has come my way, nothing other then the subtle, slight sounds of various skills leveling, reverberating their way around the forest.

When all of a sudden, I felt it. That lingering smell and taste of something only Grimm could ever have a palate for. Negative emotions.

I followed my snout on this occasion, choosing to follow the trail to see what unfortunate being had lost their way in the nature, and as I kept walking and walking, the forest eventually gave way into a change of scenery, something I thought I'd never look upon again.

A settlement for humans! A small one too by the looks of things. I ducked under the surrounding foliage and decided to take a closer inspection at it.

It had grey, moss ridden stone walls that rose up several lengths, with what looked like... Humans littering around on the highest points of the walls, all placed sparingly at various points across the distance and all looking as bored as can be.

Judging from the length and the heights of the walls surrounding it, it looks like it housed a couple hundred or so of the beings inside, all locked away behind the gates that were being especially guarded by what looked like... ten or so different humans? All wearing the same brown, mundane clothing but only distinguished by the weapons they held on them, seems like they had the freedom to at least have that decision made up for themselves.

Did they really think this would protect them from what laid within the forests? They were on the immediate fringes of the forest! You literally couldn't get any closer to a constant threat than this. I'm honestly amazed and slightly annoyed that my own kind hasn't swallowed up this settlement, like honestly, who was going to stop a tide of Grimm against a settlement as small as this? Nevermores? They were given free reign over the entire area if they chose to invade the area and the walls themselves look like they have been consistently degraded and forgotten, considering all the nicks, moss and cracks that the structure had been sustaining, it looked like a textbook case of poor upkeeping.

I don't doubt that somebody like Titan would absolutely demolish what defences this poor settlement had if he was given enough time, not to even mention if something like an adult Beringel came around, or even worse, a whole pack of them surrounding the area.

I creeped around the edges of the walls whilst keeping myself encased with the surrounding flora, taking note of it all and noting it down to memory, weaknesses, strengths, anything of relative interest to me was getting fully ingrained into my mind as something I HAD to take note of, and during the observation, I finally got a *ping!* notification ring my ears up.

[You have finally seen the outer settlements of Remnant, a small one for now, but you will eventually meet the greater kingdoms at large soon. This area will be documented on your newly showcased map in exchange for discovering it as "The Gamer". The map is available on your Status and Party pages to make it more accessible for the user to interact with on a regular basis. Happy Exploring!]

I immediately went into my Status's page and looked at the 'map' that the system suggested. It opened and laid itself flat in midair, giving a 3D look to the forest and more specifically, the recent human settlement I found. The inside was obscured with a thick layer of fog that hid all away from preying eyes, likely because I hadn't gone inside yet to discover what the rest of it looked like. It also showed a mini-me too! Well, as good as a rendition of "me" could be, considering it's on such a minute scale, it portrayed me as a large black amalgamation of bone, limbs and glowing red eyes with none of the actual intricacies of Grimm anywhere on it.

Still, it looked cool though!

I used my map to see where Titan was currently at on the map and I found him, located deep within the forest, it portrayed him in his most recent form, a large, broad, pitch black Beringel which seemed really out of place when put next to all the green scenery and shrubbery that the forest housed.

Then a searing pain scorched my mind all of a sudden, making me howl and scream out as I struggled to contain myself against the sudden feeling that was encroaching its way into my skull and eventually, all over my body.

I looked all across my status and party pages to see what the issue was and I found it. Titan's HP was rapidly decreasing, going down at a seemingly steady rate of around 10HP a second and so was his MP.

His location on the map also housed a large, red "!" over Titans current location, and with that I finally received another notification from the system.

[New Quest Obtained!]

Your minions HP is rapidly decreasing and is in danger of dying! Help them out and prevent their death from happening and investigate whatever is causing it.

Time Limit: 1 Hour

Success: Titan Lives. 5 Skill Points. 5 Biomass. 2000XP. Increased Relationship With Titan.

Failure: Titan Dies. Reduction in XP. Permanent Debuff With All Future Minions.

I bolted my way to Titan as fast as I possibly could. That searing pain was only getting worse and worse as the seconds went by, burrowing its way into my brain as it made the situation only ever more apparent. I would NOT let Titan die to some random Grimm! He's been destined for so much more than that!

It was times like these where I became thankful for the increases in strength and vitality, the more recent additions to my body and even just moving my increasing size before would've meant that I'd become tired out before long, especially in times of crisis like this. But now? It was a heady feeling still, to not feel tired even as I ran for what seemed like ages and ages, and to follow the seemingly growing taste and smell of fear. Of apprehension, dread and despair, it fueled me like no other could. But with that, came a small realisation in the back of my mind, just what had Titan been hunting in the forests?

After what seemed like forever, and the dulling pain in the back of my mind, I made it to the clearing, and what I saw was... worrying to say the least.

Rocks and trees all around were uprooted and smashed to pieces in some respects. Several scorching marks had seared themselves into the earth around the makeshift arena, and that wasn't to speak on the utter mass of Grimm that had been attracted to this place with probably the same reason I was, the amount of negative emotions being released made it perfect bait for most of the Grimm in the area to come take a look.

But that was the least of my concerns.

Titan was here! Titan was alive! Sure he looked little more then a cloud of mist with all the scars and damage he seemingly took from his enemy being made all the more apparent but, he was here! He was also holding... not a Grimm?

As soon as I came around on him, he peered at me with this horrifying, bloodthirsty look in his eyes that very nearly made me turn tail and head for the hills. Nearly was the word. It seemed like he knew who I was as I came closer, his dark, red eyes losing their hatred and becoming softer as I marched forward, and with that, he finally revealed what he had in his fists.

A human.

An actual, human was in his fists... and he had mauled it completely.

Its chest was carved up and bruised black all over, it was missing a leg and was gushing out blood by the second in a non-stop flow of its lifeforce, its face didn't fare much better. A missing nose... snout... thing? Try having no nose at all, its arms looked broken in multiple places and they were all bruised deep as well, with multiple fresh scars having cleaved their way into the open air. The clothes that it were wearing? They were all torn about the dirt and had scattered around the makeshift arena they made, all with the lingering stain and stench of fresh blood filling up the space around. Its weapon was on the floor, a metal blade of some kind. It was smashed and had broke in three places, from the hilt, all the way to the top, it had definitely seen better days and it was unusable now, no hope in trying to repair that thing anymore.

It was dead. No doubt in my mind about it as I looked into its glazed hazel eyes. Titan had just killed a human.

Now normally, this'd be cause for celebration! Killing a human is certainly nothing to scoff at, especially for a Grimm that's coming of age but... there's a few things wrong with this.

One, he should've been completely killed if this human was competent. Powerful humans could only be injured and eventually killed by usage of surprise and sneak attacks on the enemy, as engaging them head on was suicide.

Two, Titan was low on HP, currently down to HP: 165/600. He needed his rest, so using a little command I had mastered over the few nights we had together, I whispered one thought over the aura bridge we shared.

"Sleep"

Down he goes!

He fell like a tree, making a loud "Crash!" sound as it reverberated our surroundings to his slumber, and so did his recent killing as well.

As I inspected the corpse, and as my inventory automatically picked up a single "letter" that had dropped from the humans body, my third and final thought came into my head as I looked through all the injuries that it sustained.

What kind of human went into a place like this?

And even more strangely...

Why do it alone?

Sorry for the really long wait for this next chapter people. I know I said on the AN on the last chapter that I'd be taking a short break to relax and recoup after releasing chapters every 3 or so days after the other, but its been nearly a month since the last update so I guess I need to take some responsibility for that? This chapter is more of a way for me to get back into the swing of things so, its a lot shorter then the other chapters because of it. I know that i'm probably rusty in regards to getting back into writing so excuse me if this chapter is... a little worse off then the rest? I had to rewrite this thing over the last week and a half because I just never liked how it sounded when reading it back and forth, but this is as close as I can get to what I want in the end.

I'm going to be moving onto a new arc by next chapter, hopefully introduce some new characters to break the monotony a little.

As well as all that, Covid-19 and college has both been keeping me busy for the time being, getting bombarded with constant work really isn't what I want to do on a weekend.

So anyway, I hope you still enjoy it and as always, critiques are always accepted and appreciated.

Thanks for all the insane love you guys are giving as well, still crazy to me to this day to see that I got over 100 followers on something like this.

Next chapter soon? Hopefully?
