Naruto was sitting on the swing near the academy. He was currently waiting for Sakura to arrive at their meeting point so they could walk to Uchiha's district together.
Sakura told him about the training plan with Teme, Teme's brother, and Teme's cousin during break time last Monday. Teme was listening quietly at their table, and from the scowl that presented itself on his face, he knew instantly that Teme didn't like the idea but also didn't have any other choice at the matter.
Naruto grinned mischievously and purposefully shouted, "Of course I'll join you, Sakura-chan!"
The defeated sigh that Teme made brought quite a satisfaction for him. The training would be worth it, even if it only for the sake of annoying Sasuke.
He had been curious about the dark-haired boy ever since before the academy. He sometimes saw him passing by the market with either his mother or other older boys that looked similar to him, and girls his age would all blushed and whispered to each other while staring at him.
Teme seemed to be quite famous and well-received, the total opposite of him who was avoided and rejected by most people in the village. He wasn't jealous of him though. He was just curious and wanted to know the secret behind his popularity. Who knows he might be welcomed if he did whatever the secret was, or so he thought.
That was why he approached him on the first day of the academy. He introduced himself and offered a handshake, which was only responded by the quirking of the dark-haired boy's eyebrow. He waited some more time, but the Teme stayed silent and simply eyed his extended hand as if he didn't know what to do with it - which was stupid in his opinion.
Ever since that day, Naruto decided to call him Teme, which was warranted in his opinion, because the boy was indeed a bastard to him. This so-called training that Teme seemed to be unfond of was a great way to get back at his rude gesture. Naruto grinned at the thought.
"What are you doing grinning by yourself like that? That's creepy you know."
Naruto looked at the nearing figure, "Sakura-chan! Good morning! I was just thinking of all the things I can do to annoy Teme."
Sakura exhaled, "Good morning, Naruto. And don't disturb him too much. He's already so upset to share his nii-san with us."
"Well, all the more reason why I'm excited for this training! Let's go!" He pulled Sakura along behind him.
Sakura pulled his hand back, "Do you even know the way to the Uchiha district?"
"Eh?" Naruto turned his head and looked at her sheepishly.
"Yeah, right. I thought as much. It's this way," Sakura pulled him to the opposite direction.
Together, they both headed towards the Uchiha district.
Sasuke was sitting at the table in the dining room. His mother was currently storing the groceries away in their respective places while humming some tunes he didn't know. His older brother was drinking tea at the opposite side of the table, and his cousin was still nowhere in sight.
Today was the day the pink girl and Dobe would come for training. This would be quite phenomenal because non-Uchihas had never trained inside the Uchiha district before. He didn't know why but it was what it was.
Even his father said it was unheard of for non-Uchihas to use Uchiha training grounds. However, his father allowed the training to happen because his mother had threatened to put a lot of sugar in all of the foods she'd cook for a whole month if his father had said no.
His father said yes after that.
Sasuke had secretly hoped his father would stand his ground and say no, but he knew that his father would never deny his mother's wish. Which led Sasuke to the current dilemma.
He was glad to see his older brother hanging around the house without a care in the world this morning. This meant his schedule was open today and would most likely stay with him until the training ended.
But… the Dobe was coming as well. He clearly heard him shouting his agreement at Sakura's offer last Monday, so they were probably walking towards the Uchiha district as of now.
That boisterous attitude of the Dobe was just intolerable for Sasuke. But he also wanted to spend time with his older brother...
Ah, this was all Shisui's fault for suggesting to train that pink girl. No, this was all that pink girl's fault for coming to his home last weekend. Wait, no, this was all his fault for forgetting that darn book.
Sasuke sighed deeply.
"What's getting your panties in a twist, little shrimp?"
Sasuke scowled at the disturbance that just arrived.
"Don't scowl at me like that. At the very least you get to train with your brother, no? You should be thankful to me!" Shisui ruffled his hair.
Sasuke swatted his cousin's hand away and went to the kitchen, deciding it was best to boost his mood with some tomatoes.
Naruto looked around the Uchiha district with an awe. True to Sakura's story, the place indeed looked like a mini village.
People were bustling around them and he saw Sakura waving her hand at an old man with a bread stand. The old man waved back and looked surprised when he saw him. He wondered why he was so surprised, but he was used to all sorts of looks thrown at him, so he shrugged the thought off.
His focus today would be to annoy the Teme to death, anything else was secondary. He grinned from ear to ear at the thought.
"There, that grin again. Make sure you don't scare his family's away with your abrupt grins, Naruto."
Naruto pouted, "Sakura-chaaan, my grin is awesome, believe it! My teeth are all so clean and white. Everyone would love to see my grin!"
"Alright, alright… Whatever helps you sleep at night," Sakura smiled amusedly.
"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?!"
"Oh, look! That's the house!" Sakura tried to change the subject.
Naruto, being the naive and kind boy that he was, completely forgot at the insinuation that Sakura made and gaped at what he saw. That Teme seemed to be rich-rich. Was this the secret of his popularity? He didn't know for sure. What he knew was that he was still going to annoy the hell out of that Teme today.
Shisui already sensed the two kids' chakra ever since they set foot inside the Uchiha district. He looked at Itachi and he was already putting his tea cup aside.
"Our little guests are coming!" Shisui shouted to Sasuke.
Sasuke freezed at his spot. He scowled at Shisui and chewed the remaining tomatoes in his hands. His mother just finished washing some vegetables for today's lunch and turned to talk to him.
"Be good to your friends, Sasu-chan. Tell them to join us for lunch today, okay?"
Sasuke narrowed his eyes, "Why?"
His mother raised his eyebrows, "Why not?"
Sasuke pouted and huffed. He muttered a soft 'okay' and walked to the front door. Shisui simply grinned at the scene that he just witnessed. He knew today would be a fabulous day for him.
Together with Itachi, he walked to the front door screaming, "See you later, Mikoto Oba-chan!"
