New Guest At Pine Hollow Part 1
One hot summer Monday afternoon after a ride but just before a lesson, Kristi Cavanaugh passed by her assigned school horse, Garnet's stall.
Garnet was scared because there was something with her inside her stall.
"Garnet? What's gotten you so spooked, Girl?" Kristi asked.
Garnet gave Kristi another scared neigh.
Kristi then opened the stall door as a cute red furred brown eyed cocker spaniel puppy raced out of Garnet's stall, yelping.
Elle Mcleod and her cousin, Lisa Atwood came out of the tack room with their horses' tack in hand.
"Are you what spooked Garnet," Elle asked the puppy. "well, you're just a sweet boy aren't you?"
Lisa looked at the puppy's tag.
"Princess... hmmm," Lisa said thoughtfully. "Elle, I think this is a female dog."
"Aside from the tag, how can you tell?" Elle asked Lisa.
"If you feel the back of her collar, there's a pink bow there." Lisa explained to her cousin.
Elle felt around for the bow.
"Here it is! You're a sweetie, aren't you, Princess?" Elle asked the little dog, petting her.
Princess wrapped her front paws around Elle's shoulders.
Elle and Lisa could hear two voices calling the puppy's name.
"What is it, Elle?" Lisa asked.
"I hear Carole's voice!" Elle exclaimed.
Princess jumped out of Elle's arms, ran to the front door to the stable, and barked excitedly two times.
Carole entered the stable.
"Princess! There you are! KC, I found our puppy!" Carole called.
KC entered the stable and scooped up the puppy in her arms.
"Will you ever stay out of trouble, Princess?" KC asked.
"KC," Carole suggested. "why don't you see if Missis Reg can watch Princess while we're at our riding lesson?"
"Good idea, Carole." KC agreed.
