Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here, Naegi is having an emotional crisis after getting dumped by Maizono in the midst of their graduation.

Ch. 2: Sotsugyō utsubyō to kōkoku apuri

Blackroot Middle School.

The scene shows that the school is in the midst of a graduating ceremony where the 3rd year students are graduating and are soon to enter high school in a matter of weeks, and you can see the students are looking forward to leaving Blackroot as they are excited to see themselves becoming high school students once April arrive.

Some of the 3rd year students are chatting with each other as they say their goodbyes as they are set to part ways with each other once the graduation ceremony ends.

"Guess this is goodbye, huh?"

"We're gonna drift apart…"

"I don't want this…"

"What'll happen to our posse?"

"I'm gonna miss you…"

"Our posse will live on…"

"We'll meet again…"

"See you soon…"

The scene shows that Naegi is among those who will graduate and is being given the farewell greetings from his classmates, as they are happy to see that he is heading off to Hope's Peak Academy, as well as the fact that he and Maizono are dating.

They saw Maizono chatting with her female classmates and there the boys encourage Naegi to introduce her to his parents so that it would lay a foundation to their budding relationship, which Naegi seemingly agree to this.

"Go on, Naegi..."

"Yeah…"

"Introduce her to your folks…"

"It'll be a plus factor."

"He's right."

"Better do it, Naegi."

"Tell your mom and dad you got an idol for a girlfriend…"

"Do it, man…"

Both Naegi and Maizono are graduating, along with the rest of the 3rd year students, and as Naegi is about to celebrate with his parents and Komaru, he saw Maizono approaching him, and there she told him what would appeared to be a very bad news. She wanted to break up with him.

Naegi stood still as he felt his body getting ready to shatter apart, as Maizono told him the reason why.

"My idol career is taking off…"

"…"

"And my manager strictly told me no boyfriend…"

"…"

"If he finds out my career would be ruined…and my fans might get turned off…"

"…"

"I'm sure you understand…"

"…"

While this seemed like a justifiable reason, it was still shallow as Maizono showed no hints of reluctance and she THANKED him for the good times they spent, and left the school grounds, leaving Naegi mentally and emotionally devastated, just as Komaru came and innocently asked her elder brother if he is okay, unaware of what happened to him.

"Onii-chan!"

"…"

"Come on…"

"…"

"Let's celebrate!"

"…"

"Mom and dad are waiting!"

"…"

The Naegi parents came and told their children that they booked a restaurant where they can celebrate their son's graduation, and they were so enamored that they didn't notice the shocked look on his face, and the parents seemed to pay no attention as they prodded Makoto to smile for the camera as a photographer came and requested to pose for the graduation photo album.

"Makoto…"

"Come on, son!"

"…"

"Smile for the camera!"

"It's your graduation day!"

"…"

"Make us proud."

"You truly are our son."

"…"

Makoto saw Maizono chatting with her soon-to-departing classmates and noted that there is no hint of sadness and she even looked like nothing has happened and this made Naegi more upset, so upset that he kicked a garbage can and walked out.

Some of Naegi's friends saw it and wondered what happened, and one of them told the others what took place, and they were aghast at what they were told, and felt that what Maizono did is unfair and selfish, doing that to him on the day of graduation.

"What?"

"Seriously?"

"What the heck.*

"That Maizono!"

"How could she do that to him!"

"That was a low blow!"

"We ought to confront her!"

"Yeah!"

The friends are now planning on confronting Maizono for her foolish actions, but two of Naegi's friends came and dissuaded the others from causing a scene and persuade them to forget the whole episode as it would mean nothing to Maizono.

The two boys who played peacemakers are identified as:

- Itsuki Yuge

- Junpei Tenmyouji

The two boys urges their fellow classmates not to make a scene as this would only upset Naegi, which the others are unsure if this is a good idea as they felt that Naegi needed a friend to comfort and console him, and both Yuge and Junpei said they will do it, which the others reluctantly agreed to the two boys' advise.

"Okay."

"Fine."

"Better cheer him up."

"See to it that he doesn't commit suicide."

"Be there for him."

"Keep an eye on him."

"Look out for him."

*Make sure he doesn't do anything rash…"

As Junpei and Yuge plan on going to look for Naegi once the graduation ceremony ends, the Naegi parents are baffled as they couldn't find their son as the graduation ceremony is still ongoing, and wondered what has gotten into him.

"Where' Makoto?"

"Where did he go?"

"That boy…how can he…"

"I'm worried."

"He'll be fine."

"Really?"

"Yes. He'll be back."

"…"

Not far, Naegi is seen at a corner of a school building, sulking as he never felt this bad, as Maizono came and broke up with him on the day of their graduation, which is not only humiliating, but emotionally gut-wrenching, and he began to wonder if he has done anything wrong, and felt like wanting to kill himself feeling that he is the cause of his failed relationship.

By then Yuge and Junpei came and began to console Naegi, while at the same time told him that they heard about what happened, and urged him to forget Maizono, stating that she showed her true colors by breaking up with him over a shallow reason.

Yuge also pointed out that if she wanted to break up with Naegi, she should have done it at least a day after graduation, not on the day itself, which Junpei agreed, and the two friends told Naegi to get over it and celebrate graduation, as well as to go see his family, as they are worried about where Naegi went to, which somewhat convinced the bereaved boy to slowly get over it.

"So let's head back."

"Yeah. Your folks are about to get worried."

"I…fine."

"Don't feel bad."

"You'll find new love in no time."

"…"

"Let's go. The graduation ceremony is still on."

"Yeah. We got to finish this."

"O-okay…"

And so the three boys went back to the graduation ceremony and everything went well, where the students finally graduated middle school, and while Yuge and Junpei are celebrating, they noted the depressed look on Naegi's face, and they hoped that their friend would get over his sadness and find someone else who would be willing to like him for his kind nature.

"Naegi…"

"Think he'll be okay?"

"Let's hope that he is."

"That Maizono…she's a real prick."

"Yeah. She did that today of all days."

"I'm sure Naegi will overcome it."

"You think so?"

"I'm sure."

A few days later, while the rest of the Naegi family are having breakfast, Makoto is seen alone in his bedroom, still moping at how Maizono dumped him so suddenly because she chose her idol career without even consulting him.

Despite the advice he received from Yuge and Junpei, Makoto was unable to get over his heartbreak, and decided to surf the internet using his smartphone, where he came across a website app where one can rent a girl and pose as a girlfriend for a day, with a fixed price.

Naegi blinked his eyes as he never seen anything like this before, and recalling how Maizono approached him and announced the sudden breaking up of their relationship, Makoto felt compelled to check the site out and see it for himself, as he wanted to get his mind off over the heartache that Maizono caused.

"I wonder…maybe…"

The next day, the scene shifts at Shibuya, where it is known as a special ward in Tokyo, Japan. A major commercial and business centre, it houses the two busiest railway stations in the world, Shinjuku Station (southern half) and Shibuya Station.

There are several famous fashion department stores in Shibuya. Shibuya 109 is a major shopping center near Shibuya Station, particularly famous as the origin of the kogal subculture.

As Naegi is standing in front of a popular mall, someone approached him, where Naegi is taken aback at who appeared in front of him. The person who he intend to meet was a teenage girl, in which she displayed the following characteristics:

- Sporting strawberry-blond hair, tied in twin pigtails

- Having a curvaceous figure

- Well-endowed breasts

- Wearing cardigan blouse, its upper button opened, exposing some of her upper chest and cleavage covered in strawberry-blond colored bra

- A red mini-skirt

- Boots with heels

There the teen girl stood there smirking, as she got to meet the person she interacted through the private messaging, and is rather bemused to see Naegi in the flesh, as she saw him only through an avatar that the dating app showed.

There the teen girl, who is of the same age as Naegi, introduces herself as Junko Enoshima, the rental girlfriend for the day.

"Hello."

"Huh?"

"You're Makoto Naegi, correct?"

"Y-yeah…I'm Naegi."

"Please to meet you. I'm Junko Enoshima. Your rental girlfriend for the day."

"Girl…friend…?"

"Yup. So let's get on with our date."

"…"

Hope you liked this chapter, as there's not much action here, though it did introduced Naegi and Maizono, and how they first became a couple, only to break up after dating for a month or so…

Though the setting appeared to be set in Blackroot Middle School, this is just a temporary thing, as both teens graduate and Naegi is heading for Hope's Peak Academy…
