Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here, Naegi is still having an emotional crisis after getting dumped by Maizono in the midst of their graduation.

However, after accidentally seeing an advertising app, he checked it out and soon got himself a girlfriend…sort of…and now the date is about to commence, but will this help Naegi get over his heartbreak…?

Ch. 3: Rentaru-bi

The next day, the scene shifts at Shibuya, where it is known as a special ward in Tokyo, Japan. A major commercial and business center, it houses the two busiest railway stations in the world, Shinjuku Station (southern half) and Shibuya Station.

There are several famous fashion department stores in Shibuya. Shibuya 109 is a major shopping center near Shibuya Station, particularly famous as the origin of the kogal subculture.

As Naegi is standing in front of a popular mall, someone approached him, where Naegi is taken aback at who appeared in front of him. The person who he intend to meet was a teenage girl, in which she displayed the following characteristics:

- Sporting strawberry-blond hair, tied in twin pigtails

- Having a curvaceous figure

- Well-endowed breasts

- Wearing cardigan blouse, its upper button opened, exposing some of her upper chest and cleavage covered in strawberry-blond colored bra

- A red mini-skirt

- Boots with heels

There the teen girl stood there smirking, as she got to meet the person she interacted through the private messaging, and is rather bemused to see Naegi in the flesh, as she saw him only through an avatar that the dating app showed.

There the teen girl, who is of the same age as Naegi, introduces herself as Junko Enoshima, the rental girlfriend for the day.

"Hello."

"Huh?"

"You're Makoto Naegi, correct?"

"Y-yeah…I'm Naegi."

"Please to meet you. I'm Junko Enoshima. Your rental girlfriend for the day."

"Girl…friend…?"

"Yup. So let's get on with our date."

"…"

Naegi is awestruck at the sight before him, as he didn't expect to see Enoshima in the flesh, as she is VERY SEXY in real time as opposed to the one he saw on the app, and noted that she is a bit taller than him, hence it looked a bit awkward, yet because he is still reeling from the unjustified break-up with Maizono, he decided to go along with it to help him cope with the heartbreak, and the two teens walked around Shibuya, acting like a real couple even though they are not.

They went to the park, where they are holding hands while chatting, then at a carnival, where Enoshima acted like she is enjoying herself, amid the romantic act she displayed, like hugging him, holding hands and the stuff that are common sight among couples.

Still, Naegi felt hollow as he felt that there is no romantic spark between them, and this made him mentally question himself if he did the right thing in going through with this rental date thing.

His trail of thoughts was interrupted when Enoshima asked if he is enjoying himself in their date, which made him hesitate to reply.

"So…"

"Huh?"

"What do you think…?"

"?"

"Enjoying our date so far…?"

"Um…"

"Naegi?"

"Well…"

Naegi is unsure, but just nodded and there Enoshima gently grabbed his hand and began to walk around the park, acting like a real couple, and while the appearance they gave made them look like a real-life couple, it slowly attracted some attention, as passerby saw the passing teens, and we're bemused to see how cute they look.

"Wow…"

"Look at that…"

"So cute…"

"That boy's lucky…"

"But he's quite shorter than her…"

"Are they compatible…?"

"He better eat more food with vitamins…"

"LUCKY BOY…"

However, some appeared critical, as they do not feel convinced, and can be heard whispering some things that they feel not make any sense, such as the height gap, where Enoshima is 5'7, while Naegi is 5'4 in height.

Another contention is that while Enoshima is beautiful and celebrity-like material, Naegi is plain-looking, and wondered if he is really dating her or is just using her to boost his image and brag to his friends.

"Look at that…"

"That boy is such a lecher…"

"Is he really dating her?"

"He's too short…"

"I bet he's doing this to make himself look good…"

"That brat is such a scumbag…"

"A chauvinist…"

"Stupid brat…"

Naegi overheard it and is upset, as they do not know what is like to be ditched by someone they love over a shallow reason, but Enoshima gently told him to ignore the detractors and just concentrate on their date, which he slowly nodded.

"Easy, Naegi."

"Huh?"

"Just ignore them."

"…"

"What matters is that we're having fun."

"Y-yeah…"

"So lighten up."

"O-okay…"

The two teens went to a fast food restaurant and had snacks, where Naegi stared at Enoshima, and he is somewhat taken by her beauty and charms, and she appeared to be sweet and friendly, though she can be a bit talkative at times, which add more to her charming personality.

He mentally compared notes as he made some comparison between Enoshima and Maizono, and he felt conflicted as he is still nursing a broken heart due to the breakup made by Maizono.

There Enoshima gently asked him if he is okay, looking rather concerned, but not wanting to cause any unnecessary commotion, Naegi feigned innocence and assured to her that he is okay.

"Really?"

"Yes. I'm okay."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm really fine."

"Let me know if you…"

"I'm fine. Really."

"Sure?"

"Yes."

Seeing that he appeared to be fine, Enoshima nodded and the two teens continue with their date, going to places where couples frequented, and eventually came to a park which has an underwater zoo, where marine animals are shown on display, and while in the midst of their date, Naegi felt that their date appeared too good to be true.

He mentally questioned if Enoshima is being sincere or not, and realized that this is just a girlfriend rent thing, it made him feel quite empty and hollow, as he felt that this is not a real relationship.

As Enoshima is glancing at her smartphone, Naegi glanced at his, and accidentally came across the rental girlfriend site, where his avatar is displayed and is now asking how his date went. Naegi was still reeling from the heartbreak he felt, feeling that the date he went through was meaningless, he scrolled the site and saw Enoshima's avatar.

There he saw the rating score, which shows that the score of 10 being the highest, and 1 being the lowest, and wanting to get this over with, he gave her avatar a rating score of 1.

Enoshima saw the rating she got and became pissed off, and grabbed him by his collar and shook him rather violently, demanding an explanation on why he gave her a very low score, which Naegi was bewildered at the attitude she just exhibited.

"Hey!"

"Whoa!"

"What the FUCK is the meaning of this?"

"WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA!"

"Why did you gave me a score of ONE?"

"WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA!"

"Can't you give me a higher score?"

"WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA!"

The commotion they made attracted the attention of other patrons, and they wondered if they stumbled onto a lovers' quarrel, seeing that the two teens appeared passionate.

"Look at that…"

"A lovers' quarrel?"

"Looks like it…"

"And a violent one…"

"Whoa…"

"Feel bad for that boy…"

"That girl's too aggressive…"

"He needs to stand up to her…"

Others, however, were annoyed and told the two teens to take their quarrel elsewhere and not disturb other people here as it would cause a scandalous scene, with the rest threatening to call the usher and have the two teens ejected from the park.

"Hey!"

"Stop that, you two!"

"You're disturbing the other customers!"

"Don't you dare come closer!"

"They're not listening…"

"Someone help!"

"Call the usher!"

"Dial 1-1-9!"

Coincidentally, an usher passed by and asked what is the commotion about, and when the patrons pointed their fingers at the two teens, the usher asked the two if they did any form of disturbance, which Naegi and Enoshima are quick to deny any wrongdoing, and the usher decided to give them a simple reprimand and told them not to make a racket.

"So please don't make any kind of disturbance, okay?"

"Yes.."

"Yes…"

"If you cause another commotion, I'll have you two ejected. Got that?"

"Yes.."

"Yes…"

"Good. So please behave."

"Yes.."

"Yes…"

After that, Enoshima locked Naegi in a headlock and dragged him towards the nearest restroom, and the patrons sweat-dropped at seeing that, and they began to wonder if the two teens are really a couple having a fight or if they are a pair of delinquents.

"Geez…"

"Look at that…"

"Are they really a couple?"

"And is that how they quarrel?"

"I feel bad for that boy…"

"That girl may be a goddess, but she has a real attitude…"

"Whatever, let's leave them."

"Right."

Hope you liked this chapter, as there's not much action here except that the date proceeded without a hitch…only for Naegi to unintentionally trigger a reaction from Enoshima which seemingly SHOWED HER TRUE COLORS…

And that nearly costs them to get thrown out of the zoo…
