'Now the actual story has begun... I've waited 3 years for this to happen since my arrival... But what then...? I've already screwed up in my plans...'

Chapter 13 ~ The Freezing Alchemist

-Jealousy-

As I sat ontop of the military building alone, I watched as red light shot up into the air, and then around almost all of Amestris. I sigh and look up at the night sky, "Why must life be so boring?"

-Me-

I ran as I saw lights shot up into the sky from various directions. I decided to split up from the Elric brothers, so the story would go on propely, to find a way to trap the Ice alchemist. I stood my ground on the spot when I spot an ice glacier takes its form nearby. Automatically, I used my alchemy to make my own glacier and made it ram into the other. 'Hopefully they weren't here to see that,' and what I meant was that I did the same Van Hohenheim when he transmutes. The sole of my feet was the one that did caused it. When I saw that my transmutation was successful, I smirk to myself and yell in succession, "Yes! Take that you stupid piece of shit!" Like as if the thing had feelings, my glacier ended up bursting into pieces and the other glacier continued to move. "Damn it... I forgot the thing moves because of the transmutation circle..." I cursed under my breathe.

My automail arm started to shake wildly and I knew that it was because of all the water in the atmosphere. "I have to hurry this up," I pulled out my sword for the first time in so long, "the boys still trying to catch Isaac."-'Our orders are to bring him in dead or alive. I have to bring him alive to ask where he got the philosopher's stone.' I took a few steps back to build up the momentum, then I sprinted into a run. When I got close enough I jumped upwards, at the same time transmute my arm to have spikes sticking out, and grabbed onto the edge of the ice with my automail hand. I held on for a while, at the same time the glacier started to move, faster than before. I climbed up when suddenly, a sword was pointing right at my face. "Get up you scumbag," a familiar voice orders, impatiently waiting for me to follow the order.

Right when I had fully gotten up on my feet the blade was shoved into my right shoulder without hesitation. I watch in shock as the person infront of me draws closer to my face, Jealousy. "Gaaahh!" my screams filled the air as I tried to pull away from the blade. Blood was spilt on the ice ground below me, earning a devilish smile from the homunculus infront of me. "Don't worry... this only hurt a little," but that just made me more impulsive in my actions. I grab onto the blade with my real hand and deconstruct it with me alchemy, making it shatter into pieces, except most of it was still imbedded into my flesh. Jealousy just smiled at this action saying, "You're better off dead. I was hoping you'd use your water alchemy." This caused me to smirk back at the girl, which made Jealousy finally stop smiling and give me a confused look.

"I've improve alot since our last meeting Jealousy. So don't think I didn't learn any tricks of my own!" I look down at her feet to show what I ment. Jealousy's eyes went wide and she immediatley followed my gaze, her legs were slowly being engulf by red ice with little sparks coming out as it etched over bit by bit. That red ice was my blood; the blood that Jealousy had spilt. "Alchemy is easy when you understand the bases of reconstruction and deconstruction," I explain as I spit out some blood to the side. "Water is one of the most easiest substance to use in alchemy. The principles of freezing and boiling are the two main points of water, so since blood has almost the same principle that means I can use it the same was as water!" "Why not use the ice we're standing on? Isn't it also something you can use?" Jealousy questions.

I nod but I continued to explain, "All this is can't be used, because it's still being used for a transmutation which is still activated. You can use alchemy so you should understand. We can't use materials while a transmutation is still active." I watch as Jealousy stares at me with a dumbstruck look, but then it changes back to her usual twisted smile. "Hahahahaha! You've gotten a whole lot better since that time!" she laughs, reminding me of my past self. A flash back of how I used to be flashes into my mind for a second until the present time came back to my eyes. I gripped onto my shoulder, trying my best not to lose anymore blood. 'If I lose anymore blood I'll end up passing out from too much blood loss,' I thought worriedly. Jealousy breaks out of her bonds, like as if they were nothing, and the worst part was she didn't even break a sweat!

Standing there in shock, I watch as she suddenly, with a now formed sword, charges at me in a monstrous speed. In a blink of an eye, she disappeared for a second then infront of me in a flash. I was able to block it in time by transmuting some of the ice below into a wall. "Oh I see you were still able to transmute the ice~! And you can do it like how Hohenheim does! Hahaha!" laughs the maniac-like monster from the other side of the wall. She knocks it down with her weapon and shoves it towards me. Once again, I dodged it in time, but this time got a cut on my cheek. "Erg..." My hand slowly grips onto my bleeding shoulder, the blood still kept on coming out. 'Anymore movement and I'll die from blood loss,' my thoughts speculate. This is the worse moment of my life, having a homunculi look a like attack me, the Elric's fight Isaac, and I have a shoulder injury that'll kill me.

Just before I was about to get hit, her sword stopped at my face midway. That made me realived she didn't slice my face off, but hopefully, Jealousy won't remember that she didn't kill me like she has always wanted. Jealousy draws her blade back and backs away, something in her eyes had changed for some reason. At first it was her usual black irises then it changes to the color blue, just like my eyes. "Gaaaahhh!" her screams filled the air. To my surprise, she was going crazy. Her hands tremble, so much that she even dropped her sword to the ground, which I kicked away to the side. "Ed...ward..!?" I hear her gasp, taking a quick glance to the side. I don't know what she saw, but Jealousy was really starting to go crazy at tne moment. Well she's always been crazy, except this time, Jealoust has gone into an extremely crazy state.

"No... no! He's not ment to be near me! Gah!"

Jealousy took her arm and bit it. "Oh god..." I didn't have any words to describe the scene before me. 'All I see is a girl sucking her own damn arm!'

Finally, she got back to her 'normal' self and starts... laughing? "I see... so guess that my time is up here... Then that means I have no worries anymore," and with that she jumps off the glacier. Shocked, I run to the edge and looked down the spot she fell down, except that there was no sight of her. "What the heck was that about..." I mutter as I continued to stare downwards. "AAAALLLL!" I heard a from a distance. I lift my head up and saw the two brothers facing off the Freezing alchemist in the distance. Isaac placed his palm on Al's head, causing it to fly off and knock him down, with Ed stuck in his arms. When Isaac was about to make another move, the two got back on their feet and back flipped into place. I was able to see and hear Isaac mutter, "There's no one in there... it's empty..."

I immediately made an ice pillar below me and used it to launch me towards the fight. As I flew towards them, I drew out my sword, for the first time in years, to prepare myself for the incoming impact. My sword soon bursts into cool blue flames. I couldn't hear their entire conversation, but I did here this one line that made Ed pissed. "You fools attempted the ultimate taboo! You attempted Human Transmutation, didn't you? Alchemy's one and only unforgivable sin!" Isaac shouts with his wicked smile plastered on his face. "You know...? There are some lines you shouldn't cross..." Ed spoke in a dark tone, his head bowed down. At the right moment, I landed in between them. I was in a a crouched position before standing up straight, pointing my sword at the man's face.

"You must be the Mercury Alchemist, Catherine Cairo. I'm surprised that such a little girl like you almost took my title from me," he said in a non-impressed tone.

"Who else were you expecting? I doubt you were thinking I would allow you to turn Central into your own winter wonderland!" I yell in sarcasm. "Catherine...?" I look over my shoulder to look at the two behind me. Al stood beside his brother with no head, revealing the empty space inside his body armor. Al couldn't find the right words to explain his situation, all he could say was, "It's not what it looks like Cat... I just-" "I've known all along guys," I interrupted. Ed gives me a look asking what I ment, but we both know what I was talking about. I had not choice but to explain, with as much detail without making them suspicious. "I've known for a while now that you guys were missing your body parts. And Al," that caught his attention, "there's no need to pretend that you can sleep. Even though we didn't spend much time together before and haven't seen each other for three years, I'm not stupid enough to not see that you aren't who you say you are."

Now I got the shrimp pissed, "So you knew the whole time about us without telling us! Then you better explain how come you never told us!" "Shut up! I'm trying to save your ass here! It's better I pay you back now for saving me last time..." I mutter at the last part, not wanting Ed to hear what I just said. Isaac takes this chance and transmutes ice all over my left arm it. I pull away immediately before he could let the ice climb any further. "CATHERINE!" Ed and Al shout from behind me. "I'm fine!" 'Glad that it's automail,' my thoughts add. I glance to look at the two behinf my thinking, 'But they don't know that at all.' I got a good grip on my blade, then I swung it towards Isaac. As he drew away, I transmuted steaming water from my feet then made the water rush towards Isaac like a wave. When it hit him I could tell from how red his face is, its really hot to boiling temperature.

'Pay back for Ed!' I took this chance as my own pay back and swung my blade towards him, to his surprise, made his face slightly turn pale when the flames touched his skin.

When I missed I prepared for another transmutation. "How can a kid like you do transmutations so quickly!?" I wanted to laugh at how flustered Isaac was. "Don't think that I earned this name for nothing!" I smirk as I transmuted water from the air. The water slowly formed at first, then all of it automatically went to the his right leg and froze as soon as it touched the surface. He was about to melt it when I thrust my sword foreward, which went past his face and gave a small cut on his cheek. As Isaac gives me a shocked look, I tsked him and said, "A little rusty there old timer. You should be honored tha I draw blade in battle. Not many enemies get a taste of my blue flames." "Let's see about that when I do this!" I was caught by surpise when he suddenly grabs my frozen arm and uses his elbow to breck it, making all the ice shatter.

I drew back and held my arm, fearing someone saw it. "CATHERINE!" Ed and Al shout from behind, running to my side. Isaac look so happy about his little work there, except he was ignoring the fact he just broke his own arms as well. "Now you no longer have an-" he stops he a sudden fist runs up to his face, make that two. "How dare you do that to her!" Ed shouts. I had to back away before Ed could see that I used my so-called 'broken arm' to punch the man as well. Isaac coughs some blood out then looks at me. His eyes went wide and said, "So you're the same as well." I too when wide eye then look down at my arm, only to see that my sleeve had also been shattered, and no my arm was revealed to the world. I hear Al gasp from behind and Ed gazes down at my arm.

"Hahahaha! And you were starting to entertain me there for a second, thinking you are some special alchemist who doesn't need a transmutation circle! But no, you just did the impossible! So who did you try to bring back Mercury Alchemist? Mother? Father? Dead sibling? Or maybe even a dead lover!"
"Shut up! You don't know anything about me... you know nothing of the pain I've suffered these past three years!"

I ran up to cut him down to size, but he was able to catch my sword and freeze it. With much force, Isaac broke the blade by only amplyfing his fist with alchemy. Next thing I knew, I was on the ground with trinkling down my head. It wasn't that serious at the moment, but it still did hurt like hell to me. "I know I'm gonna have a splitting head-ache in the morning..." I groan as I lifted myself to my feet. I hear Ed yell from behind my back, "You just took a steo right down to hell!" Red flashed in the corner of my eye. Then at that moment I watched the scene infront of my play out, except this time, it was in person not on a computer screen or TV. 'This is so... nostalgic...' I thought as my eyes soften at the sight. Ed charged at Isaac and punched him in the gut, placed his hands together and knocked the man down to the ice.

Isaac used his alchemy send ice spikes towards Ed, but to his avail, Ed was able to dodge it in time. Al came charging in next, running into the ice spikes and breaking it in the process. I didn't want to be left out, so I ran afterwards and kicked Isaac's face with all my might. When he flew down, of course we followed him, but I improvised a little so I won't end up feeling much pain at all. As the two slid down ahead of me I transmuted an slide from thin air and jumped onto it. "Woohooo!" I landed next to the Elric brothers much more peacefully. Ed looked at the slide, then back at me with a look asking 'Really? A slide?' I just shrugged and walked towards Isaac, the two followed after me. Ed stepped infront of me and said this as we got closer, "Give it up, there's no water for you to use here!"

"Hmph! You've forgotten something... I've all the water I need, 70% right in my body!" I knew what Isaac was talking about and I knew it wasn't going to be pretty. Out of sheer impulse, I jumped infront of Ed as a shield while Isaac transmuted his blood into long red spears of ice. I was able to take one, hitting my stomache in the process, only the other hit Ed's shoulder. "Gah!" I screamed as the spear goes deeper into my gut. "Brother! Cat!" Al exclaims, breaking the spears his karate chop. (Cat: Karate chop? Really? me: Hehehe... I watched Karate Kid... Cat: Who hasn't?) I collapsed into the ground in the process, Ed following me as well. I looked over my shoulder and asked the blondie in a weak tone, "You okay Ed...?" Standing on his feet, Isaac exclaims, "Why can't you fools understand? I'm trying to save this country!"

'I know Isaac... but what your doing is still wrong if you ask me...' my thoughts were faint, but I could here myself loud and clear. The giant glaciers had finally made it to their destination, Central HQ, and started to freeze the building at a high speed. "Haha... hahahaha!" Isaac had gone completely mad. He walks away laughing and walking slowly like an insace person. "Brother..." Al trails off as he watches his brother pull the shard out of his shoulder. Not saying any thing, Ed walks up to me and looks down at the shard in my gut. "You have to bare with me," he warns, kneeling down to my level. I was about to ask what he was talking about when suddenly, I felt a sharp pain course through out my lower body. Yes he had pulled it out. Ed was about to do something else until I stopped him, "Wait... I'll do it..." Reluctantly, he pulls away.

I place my hand over my stomache and the alchemic light shot up, but only for a few seconds. When I pulled my hand away, the wound was gone, but that didn't ment I really healed myself. Carefully, I stood up, trying not to reopen my sealed wound. "C'mon we're going after him. I'm not done, not even close," I said. Ed smirks as my words and agrees, "You took the words right out of my mouth."

-Jealousy-

This show was really getting interesting. "Seems the timeline really has changed since your arrival human," I giggle at how stupid she was running. "I guess I too should make a few changes of my own since I'm here. It's not like things haven't change around here." I stood up as I saac ran beside a building, the very same one I was sitting on. Immediately, I jumped down towards him and landed right infront of him, making Isaac stumble on his feet at the sudden sight of me. "H-How the hell did you get here!?" he stutters. He must've mistaken me for that human, stupid man. I laugh saying, "Hahaha! I'm your superior officer! Well... if you were still in the military!" "Military uniform... black eyes... You can't be-" but in the end he had no time to finish his sentence. I transmuted a cement spear from the ground and prepared myself to slash him.

"If you want to destroy your enemies, then your death is all you need to make your dream a reality."

-Ed-

Right when we thought we had caught up to him, all we found was a dead body and the Furher himself before it. "Furher Bradley... you're here?" I asked. "Ah yes, job well done Fullmetal, Mercury. I came out to see if I could lend a hand, and to think I'd actually be the one to catch him. If nothing else, this should make an exciting story for my son," he smiles. Cat stood beside me and snorts, "Yeah right..." I watch as she walked up to the body, staring down at it with a remorse look. Cat whipered something to Isaac, obviously something all of us couldn't hear. It took her a few moments before she stood back up and went to our side. "What were you doing?" I ask her with a raised eye brow. Not looking me in the eye, Cat replies, "None of your business. I wouldn't have whispered it unless I wanted the whole world to hear."

\\Next Day/

After all that time of chasing Isaac, in the end, we end up in the hospital with no leads to the philosopher's stone. Now there's one thing I needed to clear up before anything else happens, and she just happened to be in the same room as me. "How come you knew and never told us?" I ask the girl beside me. She spews out the contents of her drink, taking a few moments to stop coughing before properly answering. "I-It's so obvious the way you two move around! I mean, who else can't notice those loud hollow foot steps!" Cat did have a good point there. But the way her face looked on how flustered she was on the situation, there has to be more to it then what Cat just told me. I pried in a little more, "Your hiding something and I can tell by your body expression." Slowly, she starts to sweat all over.

'This is going to be fun.'-"You can't hide it Al and I heard you say you knew all along. I want to know how and when you figured us out," I demand." Al said in a calm tone, "Give her time to explain brother. I want to know too, but we need to let her figure out how she's going to explain herself." "I'm okay Al... There's no need for me to hide it any longer," Cat smiles weakly in reassurance. Taking a deep breathe Cat blurts out with a poker face, "I lost my arm in an accident. I plan to use the philosopher's stone to restore my arm." ... That was not what I expected (me: Oh dear... Cat: That same excuse again! Why did you let me say that!? me: Shut up!) "HOW COULD THAT BE SO IMPORTANT TO HIDE!?" I scream at the top of my lungs. The door opens up, first thing was a large bouquet of flowers. And then comes major muscles,"Greeting Edward Elric and Catherine Cairo, I heard you were in the hospital so I DASHED RIGHT OVER!"

Sparkles were flying every where. Me and Al scream as Cat hides under her bed for protection. The worst came next... "As expected, you are in desperate need of assistance." Armstrong rips his shirt off, causing more screams to fill the air. He starts to flew saying, "You need an example of a perfect physical specimen to inspire your recovery. You see? You're looking livelier already!" "Will you get out!?" I shout. "We're gonna end up staying in the hospital forever from blindness!" Cat adds, still trying to hide.

::Later::
-Me-

I don't know how we made it, but we somehow manage to survive the sight of muscle man and make him leave. "Hey Cat?" I looked over at Al. Night time was upon us so only Ed was asleep at the moment. I replied in a question, "Need something Al?"

"Thank you for saving my brother earlier. Ed doesn't want to admit it, but he really is thankful for what you did yesterday."
"Don't worry Al... I did what I could, but I still didn't stop him from getting in the hospital. I hate hospitals so much and I didn't want your midget brother to suffer. Now we're both stuck till tomorrow."
"Aren't you seriously injured?"
"Nope! I've always been a fast healer. So it's not surprising to see a doc flip out over it like all the others."
"Oh... Then I guess that's why you left the Rockbells so fast after getting your automail. Are you really sure that you lost your arm in an accident?"
"Of course Al! I wouldn't lie to you. Even if I was hiding something it's no fair that you two are as well. Equivalent exchange! I just wish we could spend some more time together. I know you guys are looking for the stone to get your body back, so there's no need for you two to waste anymore time now. I'll find a way to find it as well!"

Ed butts in out of nowhere and says, "Just come with us if your searching as well." We turn our heads to Ed and gave him a look asking, 'You're wake!?' "We could use a little company for a while," was his lame excuse as a light blush crosses his face. I smile at his shyness, "Thanks shrimp. You really do have a soft spot~!" "Shut up! Al's been bugging me to keep a kitty for a while so that's why I'm letting you come along." I was confused at first until that one little word entered my head continuously. "Kitty... Wait- Don't treat me like a cat you stupid pipsqueak! I'm a human being!" I shout, at the same time wincing from the pain on my stomach. "It's official," I watch as Ed turns to his side to face me. "Your with us now so you have no excuses to say 'no'."

Al: Hello.

Jealousy: So? He's 14.
Al: Miss Scarlet I don't have ears so...
Me: Shut up Jealousy! Your just pissed you got lesser screen time than Mustang!
Jealousy: What...?
