(A/N) Can't be all lolly gagging around. Missions!

"I'm officially bored," Shisui complained, balancing a kunai on his nose.

Tenten snorted. "Is that Uchiha speak for 'will you take a mission with me since you're my Fugaku-appointed babysitter?'"

Shisui shot up, the kunai falling in his lap. "Excuse me! You are not my babysitter?"

Tenten smirked. "Really? Fugaku-san was rather explicit when he mentioned I was supposed to 'keep an eye on you'."

"She has a point," Itachi noted blandly.

"You are not helping my case right now Itachi!" Shisui whined. "It's not my fault Danzo wanted my eye!"

Tenten stood up, walked over, and patted him on the head. "Course not, it's Danzo's fault all the way. So did you want to take a mission or not? It's still early enough in the day."

Shisui hopped up quickly. "Sure! Itachi?"

Itachi shook his head. "Sasuke would be disappointed if I did not show up to our practice session this afternoon, and Mother would be severely disappointed if I did not show up to lunch."

"Course," Shisui replied easily. "Can't disappoint the tiny and Mikoto-sama."

Tenten snorted, somehow finding Sasuke referred to as 'the tiny' absolutely hilarious. She was still working on reconciling the image of the angsty teenager Sasuke 'I'll destroy Konoha then be the Hokage' Uchiha with the adorable kid Sasuke 'my brother is the coolest thing in the known universe' Uchiha.

"I will take my leave then," Itachi decided after a moment, disappearing in a whirl of leaves.

Shisui picked them up and pushed them out the window. "How uncultured, leaves are so last week," he groused, pushing a leaf back out when it tried to come back in.

Tenten snorted again, heading for the door. "Come on, let's go grab a mission."

"Can it not be D-ranked?" Shisui asked quickly, hurrying after her, and almost tripping over his own feet.

"Depends on the Hokage, likely," Tenten mused, opening the door to let him out before following. "Whether he put me in the system as a jounin, or something else. Or perhaps not at all."

"If he didn't put you in as at least a chuunin, I'm taking it up with him myself," Shisui decided, huffing slightly.

Tenten chuckled, patting his arm. "Sure. You do that."

"I will!"

He didn't have to.

"Jounins Shisui and Tenten," one of the chuunin at the desk greeted. "Come to fetch a mission?"

They both nodded, and the chuunin started checking through the available missions.

"With the current lack of genin, we have a bunch of D-ranks, but I'm going to assume you want something just a bit higher…"

"Yeah just a bit…" Shisui agreed, holding up his forefinger and thumb just slightly apart.

"Figured," the chuunin said, laughing. "Uhh, looks like we have a assasination, if you're up for it."

Tenten glanced at Shisui, who shrugged. "Sure," she said, smiling at the chuunin.

The chuunin disappeared behind the desk for a moment, before resurfacing to throw a scroll at them. "There you go, details are in the scroll."

"Thanks!" Shisui said, waving as they left.

Due to Tenten catching the scroll and hiding it in her pockets, they made it back to the house before the scroll got opened. It was likely going to be confidential after all.

As expected, the mission was A-ranked, a basic assasination of a corrupt noble funding a slave trade that Konoha and the Daimyo had been working hard to stamp out. The Daimyo needed the noble dead, and couldn't manage an execution legally right now. So an assasination it was.

"Not too hard," Shisui decided easily, scanning the scroll one more time. "I went on a mission to the capital a while ago, I remember this guy, he's rather lax about security for what he funds. Probably how the Daimyo found out about his activities."

"Can't only plan for that though," Tenten said, eyeing the picture of the man. He was fairly plain looking, and easily forgettable. Well, for someone who didn't trade in secrets and death. "We don't want any nasty surprises if he's upped his security."

"Of course," Shisui agreed quickly.

"Can't have you dying after I just saved your backend," Tenten mused, tapping the table lightly. "Finished with the scroll?"

"Yeah, got it memorized," Shisui agreed. "Can I set it on fire!?"

Tenten snorted, but tossed the scroll to him. "Don't set anything else on fire while you do it, I assume you want your house intact."

"That'd be preferable," Shisui agreed cheerfully, setting the scroll on fire with a quiet fire jutsu, then quickly dropping it to the floor when the fire got too close to his fingers.

Tenten let it burn for a moment before dousing it in a water jutsu and stamping out the remaining embers. "Don't burn the house down Shisui."

"You just said that," Shisui pointed out.

"You just dropped a burning scroll on your floor," Tenten replied, handing him a broom she'd summoned from one of her scrolls. "It's a miracle you survived with that little common sense."

"That's what I have you for now!" He replied cheerfully, throwing away the remains.

Tenten smirked, and it seemed to randomly dawn on Shisui that he'd made a mistake. "See? This is why Fugaku-sama's making me babysit you!"

Yep, certainly a mistake, Shisui realized.

Tenten snorted, shaking her head. "You walked right into that one."

"I did," Shisui agreed, somewhat bashfully.

(A/N) He really did. Mission next week! Not quite sure whether Shisui has managed to tone down the crush from living with Tenten for a week, or whether he just didn't want to cooperate today… Who knows with him. It seems like every other chapter I write with him he decides to have a random realization or something. He'll be the death of me I swear.
