The sounds of beating drums bounced off the cave walls followed by whimsical flute playing. Howls and drunken laughter filled the room blocking out the thundering sky and heavy rain from outside the mountain.

Kagome twirled around with the wolf pack, hands in the air while her black hair floated around her dancing form.

She paused for a second still laughing trying to catch her breath, the alcohol was making her some what dizzy.

When was the last time she had this much fun? She couldn't remember.

Then her hazel eyes locked on to her dear handsome friend.
He was standing straight up, his tail flicking behind him wildly. Broad shoulders looked tense as his muscler arms were crossed over his chest of armor.
The blood on his face has since been dry, red stripes gliding down to a frown upon his face.

He glared at his friend Hakkaku; whose hands were up in defense, eyebrows furrowed up in worry.

They were clearly having a serious discussion of some sorts.
With a snort she thought, we're supposed to be having fun.

What could have gotten the wolf king so angry?

With a skip to her step she made her way to the two wolf demons, her hands gliding over Kogas arm as she encircled it against her breasts.
Surprised azure eyes looked down at her.

"Come on King, come dance with me." She then pulled the demon with all her might, leading him to center with all the other dancers.

He stumbled slightly in her grasp, till she let go.
She twirled in front of Koga, the beads in her hair chiming against one another.

She watched as an smirk formed on the Kings lips whike pulling her to him. A gasp of surprise left her lips as her body was molded into his firm one.
She felt his clawed hand trail down to the the small of her back were it rested on her hip. Her hand that landed on his chest for support when he pulled her to him was covered by his own bronzed one. She could feel the humming growl erupt through his chest underneath her hand.
He started moving his hips into her, almost roughly. A light blush erupted across her cheeks.

She was no newcomer to this type of dance. The people of her time would dance in this intimate way at the few parties she has been to before. But, that was all in the past.
She now lived in a different time where graceful planned movements and careful elegant steps were the style... hardly ever touching the opposite sex.
So coming to the demon cave was a breath of fresh air.
At first she was nervous to join the twirling and animalistic movements.. she was so used to the choreographied shrine and transitional festival dances. She feared that she become some what rusty...
But, as soon as Kai pulled her to the dozens of dancinh pack members and her body filling the beat of the drums, she let herself go.

Now here she was staring up wide eyed at the wolf demon as he grasped her body to his. His hand slightly guiding her hips to match the rhythm of his own.

He leaned over, his hot breath brushing up against her ear, sending shivers down her spine. "You're a good dancer, Kagome."

Not having time to register, he pushed her away from him, fingers still interlocked with hers. He twirled her as she laughed.
Then with a sudden pull he brought her back to him, dipping her slightly as his hand held her upper back while his other hand was still locked together with hers.

She laughed between heavy breaths, her breasts heaving up and down trying to regain her breath.

With a gleam in his eye he smirked down at her, "Can't handle me?" He asked jokingly, pulling her straight up, his hand still resting behind her back while the other rubbed his thumb over her knuckles.

She snorted, "I can't handle that moon whiskey that Tomoe forced me to drink."

She brought her free hand to her now closing eyes, still smiling, "I feel lightheaded and a little dizzy."

He held her to him for second as if deep in thought.
Then with a sudden pull of their joined hands he said, "Come with me." Dragging the human girl behind him as he swerved around his packmates leading them to one of the many tunnel entrances.

"Koga," she giggled, "where are you taking me?" She felt a little sluggish as he pulled her through the never ending tunnel.

Sensing her slow pace from behind, most likely from the alcohol and constant dancing, he picked her up.
A gasp of surprise escaped her lips as he cradled her small form into his.
"Where almost there." He said with a comforting smile.

He walked for what seemed like forever to her. The light from the torches passing them as their hue would light up his silver chest armor and then fade till the next one came. She could feel her eyes start to get heavy, feeling completely relaxed in his arms.

His pace came to a sudden stop as he dipped low through a opening.

"We're here Kagome."

She turned her head sluggishly away from his chest, hazel eyes glancing through the room.

It was a smaller carved out room with a high dome ceiling. Painted yellow stars with blue swirls decorated the room.
Like all the other rooms she saw so far, there were carved out shelves in the walls adorned with lit candles, gathered wax dripping down the candlestick curving over the edge of shelf.
Lanterns were placed randomly through out the room. Some were lit while others wick burned out a while ago.
And in the center that covered most of the caves floor was a large pelt of fur with mounds of silk, blankets and pillows scattered across it.
The scene was completed with a large arch opening on the other side of the room where you could see outside. Rain poured non stop, its droplets falling on the leaves, vines and shrubbery of flowers that some what hid the opening to the room from prying eyes.

Koga gently placed her at the edge of the fur pelt, closest to the opening. The soft breeze from the storm blew through the opening lightly caressing her face. She inhaled the fresh mountain air, rain and wet earth.

"The scenery looks a lot better when it isn't raining." He said.

She believed him, but it was still so beautiful to her.

So calming.

She felt him sit beside her. His legs crossed, back hunched over, head resting inside a clawed hand as he stared through the cave opening. She could feel his tail swish back and forth against the silk fabrics.

"You feel a little better?"

"Yes," she smiled warmly, "the fresh air has cleared my head."

"I thought it would." He smirked, tail thumping gleefully.

"What is this place?" She asked, eyes looking up at the ceiling with hand painted stars and swirls.

"A spot I go to when I want to be alone and clear my head."

Kagome glanced over at the wolf demon at her side, "It's like a secret hiding place?" She asked excitedly.

With a smirk on his lips he replied, "Not so secret anymore." He glanced over at the girl.

"No, I guess not." She smiled.

They were silent for a while, enjoying the the sound of pouring rain hit the mountain with the rumble of thunder.

"What's wrong?" Koga broke the silence.

Kagome whipped her head to look at him, eyes furrowed, "What do you mean?"

"When you're deep in thought about something you tend to chew your bottom lip."

Her hand jumped up to touch her bottom lip, finger tips brushing against the light indentations of teeth marks.

I didn't even notice...

"Well?"

"It's nothing." She said quickly.

She could feel his azure eyes bore into her form, clearly not letting up on his curiosity.

She sighed.

"Why isn't Ayame here?" she asked softly. She hasn't seen the auburn wolf demoness once since she's arrived.

She felt the swish of his tail stop.

"She still resides up in the northern mountains."

"But, isn't she your mate?"

"She is not."

"But, you have claimed her as your future mate and she accepted?"

"Yes."

"Then why isn't she here with you?"

She could feel Koga start to fidget uncomfortably next to her.

"When we officially have the mating ceremony and we become... as one, she will then be by my side."

"Why haven't the two of you mated yet?"

She would never have asked a private question so bluntly. But, she was curious and the whiskey was making her bold.

The demon was silent for a while, mind searching for the right words to say till he simply settled on, "It's complicating."

Why were relationships so complicating?

She scrunched her nose up, not liking the vague answer he'd given her.
Before she could ask another, he beat her to it.

"What about muttface?"

She felt a shiver run up her spin at the old nickname.

"What about him?"

Now it was her turn to fidget.

"What exactly... happened?"

She was quiet for a while, eyes staring intently at her white hands, trying to find the words.

"I wonder the same thing." She whispered. "He just vanished without a trace. I don't know why he left... I dont even know if he's alive right now."

"Do you miss him?"

"Honestly I'm not sure. The memories I have of him make me miss him so much. But, when I think about how he just left me.. without saying even saying a goodbye... I get so angry and hurt." She sighed and lightly said, "I guess at this point... I just hope he's okay and alive."

"Kagome," Koga said softly, "Your friend came to the mountain with the fire cat asking if my tribe or I have seen him. I've never saw him or even picked up his scent in all these years."

His eyes were glued to the girl next to him, her glossy eyes fixed upon her hands.

He continued, "I'm sorry I never helped you search for him. I would have offered, but with everything going on with my tribe and with -"

"I understand," she interrupted, a finger pointing to her forehead to where his crown sat, she smiled warmly "I know you were busy, so please don't worry, King."

"Heh"

Koga laid back against bed of furs and fabric, one arm outstretched to his side while the other arm covered his blushing face from view. He didn't like it when everyone called him king, but when she said it make his heart skip a few beats.

"He's a idiot, you know." Koga mumbled from under his arm.

"Who?" Kagome questioned, taking Koga lead as she laid backwards onto the bed with him. Her head perfectly laying on top of his forearm, while her black hair fanned out around her. Her round hazel eyes once again peering up at the painted ceiling.

"Inuyasha," Koga said, azure eyes peeking from under his arm to look at the girl who laid next to him. He could feel the softness of her hair against the skin of his arm "for leaving something so perfect."

Koga...

She turned her body to face him, head still laying upon his arm, as her hands curled up against her breasts. She felt so comfortable in this position.

"You really think that?" she asked through heavy eyelids. A smile sheepishly played on her lips.

She was fighting against sleep now.
The soft cushioning fur and fabrics hugged her body from underneath, warmth radiating from Kogas body kept her warm from the cool breeze from the cave opening, and his scent... the smell of pine, earth and musk mixed with rain and mountain air was so calming.

Her eyes slowly closed as she drifted off to sleep, her breathing now becoming heavy. She could barely fill the light touch of claws as they pulled a piece of hair away from her face, tucking it gently behind her ear.

"I know it."
