A/N: There are going to be short chapters in this story because this story is well...short. Also, I've wanted to do a story like this for a while now, so please go easy on me.
Sean here. Hope you're keeping up. Here is where I save Lucario and take him in.
I watched in horror as Lucario fell to the ground. I was at his side in seconds.
I couldn't believe it. The Lucario saved me. Usually, I would run inside the house if something was going down, but this pokémon had saved my life and I was not about to leave him out in the rain.
I couldn't carry him inside since he was slightly taller and heavier than me, so I had to drag him inside. The rain turned the ground beneath my shoes into mud which I'll admit, it did make bringing Lucario to the front door a lot easier.
I opened the door and pulled him inside. He still hasn't regained consciousness, which was understandable due to his current condition. And I just realized that he was covered in mud, so apparently dragging him upstairs to my room left an ugly streak on the floor.
My mom was going to KILL me when she returned, but I didn't care. What mattered was getting Lucario to my room.
A little later, I had finally gotten Lucario into my bed, but he was still unconscious. Was he...dead?
The expression on his face was blank, and his body had not moved since being placed on the bed. Just the thought that Lucario was dead...made me sick.
I lifted my hand to Lucario's chest to feel for a heartbeat, but since his chest spike was in the middle, I chose to lay it on the side.
...Nothing.
In a panic, I placed my head on his chest. To my great relief, I felt a beat that was slowly get faster and his breathing became even. I expected him to wake up right about now, but he didn't. Huh.
I made to remove my head, but stopped for a moment. Lucario's chest was so fluffy, I almost didn't want to. But then I remembered about the mess I made bringing Lucario up here, so I reluctantly lifted my head and made my way towards the door.
Before I left, I took one more glance. He looked so peaceful and kind of...cute. But just a little! I left the room, following the trail of mud down to the living room. Hopefully I could clean it up before mom got home.
I grabbed a bottle of cleaning alcohol and a rag, and started cleaning the floor. I knew that my mom wouldn't approve of the mess and the Lucario. Yeah, she liked Pokémon, but she's the 'no animals in the house' kind of person. If she found him, she'd kick him out! And we couldn't get him to a pokémon center either, we lived too far from one.
After what felt like an eternity of scrubbing, the dirt was finally starting to come off and I could see the original color of the carpet coming back.
*DING DONG*
The doorbell rang and my mother stepped through the front door. "Sean! It's so-
Mom froze she saw the mud on the floor.
Two seconds passed, then the bomb went off.
"SEAN, WHAT THE HECK DID YOU DO?!" She yelled.
Uh, i-it was raining and-!
"YOU DECIDED TO GO OUTSIDE?! WHY?!"
I fell silent. Even though it wasn't my fault, I felt crushing guilt inside of me.
"I am very disappointed in you, Sean. This mess better be cleaned up by tomorrow!" And she stormed off to her room, slamming the door behind her.
I stared at the closed door for a few moments wondering about what just happened, before going back to scrubbing.
*Winces* Things got a little heated toward the end there. Hope you're enjoying my story and stay tuned for the next chapter!
