Claws lightly pricked through the fabric of the gray kimono the miko was gifted as the wolf king held her small body within his arms.
Thick black hair decorated in braids and silver beads whipped around widely as the king sprinted through the forest at top speed.
Kagomes arms were wrapped around the thick neck of Koga as her head tucked into the curve of it; protecting her eyes from the powerful wind slashing at them as he ran.
She didn't know how long he's been running with her in his arms, but it seemed like hours since they've left the mountain in the early morning.
Her limbs felt a little stiff from being in the same position for so long. Every once in a while she would slightly move within his tight grip for relief.
He would of course notice everytime, his pace slowing down, arms loosening his grip on her as his head bent down low to her ear. Hot puffs of air leaving his lips would tease the flesh of her ear as he whispered, "Do you want me stop so you can stretch?"
Her body would immediately stiffen in his arms, causing her heart to race wildly within her breasts. She could feel the heat rise to her cheeks, causing her to push her face even more into the curve of his neck so he couldn't see the red stain upon her skin.
She would always quickly say "N-n-no, I'm fine." To the wolf demon.
He would simply chuckle at her stuttering response, the vibration of his laugh going through his body into hers as he held her close to him. His soft lips would lightly touch her ear sending unknown shock waves through her, as he whispered, "Alright, just let me know when you need a break."
He would then pull her body even closer to him and once again take off at top speed through the forest.
She tried her best to stay still in his arms, not wanting him to lean down into her ear again. Every time he did her heart would react excitedly.
And she swore the wolf demon could hear her heart beats. Because everytime he leaned into her ear, lips lightly brushing it as hot breath teased the sensitive flesh, her heartbeat would betray her and immediately quicken its pace.
Then she would feel those mischievous lips turn up into a triumphant smirk as if he wanted to see how fast he could make the pace of her heart go.
Slightly turning her head from the curve of his neck, she peeked up at him.
His bronzed skin shimmered with sweat, as the silver circlet crown placed around his head seemed to glow under the suns rays. Dark bangs blew away from his face as he ran, showing perfect arched brows and beautiful eyes with the colors of the sky and ocean staring intently ahead. His lips were slightly parted, the points of his pearly white fangs could be seen underneath his perfect top lip.
She stared up at his lips intently as the events of the night before replayed within her mind.
He was so close to her, she could basically taste the moon whiskey that came off his breath through parted lips.
Her widen eyes dashed from his mouth to his glowing cerulean eyes. The dark blue pupils were thin slits looking down at her, as if she was wanted prey for him.
Her body frozed under his intense stare as her heart pounded loudly.
He leaned forward, his face just millimeters away from her own.
The closeness of him causing her body to heat up unexpectedly while her skin flushed a crimson hue.
"I would give up everything for the person I loved," he whispered to her.
In that moment it was almost seemed as if time had slowed down between them.
She watched as he continued to get closer to her.
Her own body deceiving her as she slightly leaned up towards the king, craving him.
Her eyes were slowly closing, as her lips parted with want; greedily waiting for the softness of his lips to take her own.
He was almost there, his breathe was hot, teasing her skin as it brushed past her lips.
She could feel it, his lips just barely... barely touching her own.
Her mouth slightly opened wider for him so he could devour her.
And in that moment, a silver haired hanyou appeared behind her half closed eyes.
What am I doing?!
Her eyes snapped open and she immediately pulled away from the wolf demon.
He remained still for a while, his eyes looked almost sad as they stared at her, the slits slowly returning back to normal.
Why does he look so sad? What's happening...
"Koga?" She whispered.
She watched as his features softened a little, a small smile on his lips, but the sadness was still etched into his beautiful eyes.
A clawed hand reached up to her, hesitating near her face. It was almost as if he was testing to see if she was afraid of him now...
Not backing away from his touch, his claws lightly pulled back a fluttering strand of her hair, gently placing it behind her ear.
His hand continued to linger there, his fingers slightly touching the soft raven locks.
"It's pretty late now. How about I take you back to your room so you get some sleep. We have to wake up early for our journey back to your village tomorrow."
All she could do was nod at the demon before her.
Kagome groaned as the memory ended. Her head withdrawing back into the curve of his neck, wanting to just disappear.
She thanked god for the silence between them last night as he walked her back to her room. And she was thankful at the fact that he seemed to act completely normal around her the next day. As if nothing almost happened between the two of them the night before...
What was that last night?
Her heart fluttered at the thought of his lips brushing up against hers again.
Ugh... why am I getting so excited? He didn't even really kiss me for godsake!
She hated to admit it, but she was having such a hard time acting normal around the wolf king now.
She stuttered her words when speaking to him and when she made eye contact with his eyes her face would burn up immediately, forcing herself to bashfully turn away from him. When he picked her up in his arms this morning, his touch felt like electricity, shocking every nerve in her body. And then there was her heart, betraying her every second.
Maybe her reactions were due to the fact that she hadn't kissed a man in years...
... Inuyasha
Her heart felt a sharp pain run through it at the thought of the hanyou.
He was the last man, the only man, she's kissed and that was years ago...
She briefly remembered how he embraced her, his clawed hands running over her clothed body with want as his tongue desperately explored her mouth. Her fingers would get entangled in his soft silver hair, a moan every so often leaving her mouth as he would lightly bite down on her bottom lip.
And then he would always pull away from her, gasping for air, golden molten eyes thick with lust. Through heavy breathing, he'd always say to her that they should stop before they got to carried away, that he needed stop now before he wasn't able to control himself anymore... that he wished to continue such intimate touches when they were finally married.
She remembered how she'd used to get upset slightly at the situation wishing to take the next step with him, to give her precious untouched gift to the man she loved.
But, she always had to remind herself that this period of time was extremely different from the one she was born from.
So she waited.
And now years later, she was some what thankful that she didnt give herself to Inuyasha. Trying to get over the hanyou was already extremely difficult for her, but to get over him and the memory of him taking away all her firsts would have been even harder.
But here he was now, appearing in her mind at the most inconvenient time...
Just when Koga was about to place his soft lip upon hers...
Why did he finally appear again?
She haven't thought of the hanyou during her whole stay in the mountains, so why now?
Was it because she felt guilty?
Or was it because she felt like she was betraying Inuyasha?
Or maybe because of fear?
Maybe her mind wanted to remind her about how much she loved Inuyasha and how he still left her.
And Koga might do the same...
Koga...
It scared her how much she wanted to kiss the wolf demon. It scared her how she enjoyed the ever so light touch of his lips against hers. It scared her how her body was reacting to him. It scared her how she thought about him nonstop since they danced together during the festivities in the mountain...
She was just so confused by all these feelings that seemed to just suffocate her and turn her into a person she didn't even recognize anymore.
And she didn't even know how he was feeling..
Or why he even tried to kiss her in that moment...
They didn't even talk about what happened last night...
And what frustrated her even more was that none of this mattered.
Because Koga was only her friend.
And he was betrothed to Ayame.
"We're here."
"Huh?" Kagome snapped her head up at the demon, her confusing thoughts muting within her mind.
"We've finally arrived at your village, Kagome."
Her hazel eyes looked up at the sky, noticing the fiery sun still hadn't made it to the highest point.
She felt like she was in arms for countless hours, but it wasn't even noon yet.
"I thought it would have been late noon when we would have arrived here." she said some what stunned.
She couldn't help but feel a bit jealous of Kogas demonic speed. A trip to his mountain would have taken her at least a day and a half, but it only took him a few hours.
"Heh, I was running at top speed," he said, as he gently placed her on her feet. His calloused hands remained outstretched to her ready to catch her if she stumbled from her stiffen limbs. "We also didn't take any breaks on our way here, which kept us on schedule."
"Mmmm yeah, I guess." She said as she took a few careful steps away from his protective hands. The back of her feet lifted from the ground leaving all her weight on her tippy toes, the muscles twitching under the skin of her legs. Her hands reached up to the sky stretching her arms as she slightly leaned back.
"Feel better?"
She looked back at the wolf demon, hazel eyes scanning him as the annoying blush returned to her cheeks.
"Y-yeah." She stuttered.
He stood there before her, bronzed skin glistening in the sun, dark hair slightly sticking to his face and neck due to the sweat.
He had her satchel hanging off his broad shoulders, along with another one gifted to her from him. She could see some of the purple flowers peeking out of the opening of it.
A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips as she remembered how she needed another satchel for all the purple flowers he acquired for her.
His face turned away from her, facing down the hill towards the bustling village below. Azure eyes curiously scanning the miles of rice fields and hundreds of huts. "The village looks like it expanded quite a bit."
"Yes, it did."
Her eyes glanced away from the busy village she now called home, finally taking notice where he stopped at; the hill she always sat upon to relax at the end of her busy days.
With a happy sigh she said, "This spot is actually my favorite spot in the whole village."
"Here?" He questioned, eyes scanning the field of tall grass with green trees and mountains in the background, realizing that he just ran through this very field moments ago bringing them up to this very hill.
He watched as the miko walked over to a nearby tall tree, the only tree placed on top of the hill. Her small back leaned against the thick trunk as she hummed happily. Hazel eyes scanned the field below watching as the late summers breeze run through the whisps of untamed grass in waves.
"Yeah, I come here often. Usually at the end of the day to watch the sun descend behind that mountain all the way out there." She said, finger pointing to the distant mountain from miles and miles away.
Koga looked back, eyes looking at the mountain. It looked small from where they stood, a tiny triangle in the distance amongst other shapes.
"My mountain?"
Kagomes eyes widened slightly. "Y-your mountain?" She said in disbelief.
He looked back at her with a smirk upon his lips, "Well yeah, it might look some what different and small all the way out there. But, that's definently my mountain."
She could feel her cheeks heat up, as her eyes dashed from the grinning wolf king to the mountain, then back at him.
This whole time...
for years...
She's been staring at his home in awe...
"O-oh."
