Chop. Chop. Chop.
The sound of a sharp knife cutting through onions against a cutting board could be heard throughout the living area of the house. The knife swiftly sliced through the vegetable with practiced hands, the aroma of onions filling the air along with the bubbling pottage inside the cauldron that was hoisted above a burning fire.
Chop. Chop. Chop.
Nervous eyes every so often glanced up at the wolf demon that lazily laid in front of the dancing flames in the center of the room. His cerulean eyes staring intently at the boiling stew before him.
Chop. Chop. Chop.
Kagomes eyes quickly retreated back to her task, a light blush creeping upon her cheeks.
She still couldn't believe that Koga came to visit her.
She was almost positive that their goodbyes on top the hill almost a week ago would have been their last words to one another...
But, here he was now sitting inside her little house, patiently waiting for her to finish the meal she had planned for dinner.
Her mind started to wonder back to a few hours ago when he surprised her in the forest.
She was trudging along the outskirts of the forest near her village with a axe grasped in her small hands. Cursing softly to herself for not keeping up with her household chores, her eyes darted from tree to tree as she intently looked for a small dead tree to quickly cut down and carry home on her own.
She planned on making pottage today; inviting Miroku, Sango and their children for a family dinner.
But, she had been so busy these last few days treating people in her village who caught colds from the constant rain that they had recently, she completely forgot about her lack of supply of firewood in her own home.
She sighed with annoyance.
It was times like these she missed her home in the future that provided people with electricity and kitchen appliances... life was just so much easier.
Her hazel eyes glanced up at the sky as she walked, getting a full view of branches and trees. Only getting a few glimpses of the colors of blue and white that peeked between the leaves.
I wonder what Koga is doing right now... She thought to herself.
Her hand reached up to touch her lips, finger tips lightly gliding over the puffy soft skin.
Memories of him barely brushing his lips against hers flooded her mind for the fifth time today.
She groaned with slight irritation, her hand immediately dropping from her mouth.
What has been going on with me lately?
Ever since he dropped her off at the top of the hill near her village, she thought of the wolf king nonstop.
She found herself repeatedly thinking about the feeling of his lips against hers along with constant yearning for more soft touches from the wolf demon.
And ever since she found out that the mountain that she stared at every late evening was Kogas mountain, she stared at it even more intently now watching the warm sun descend behind it. While gazing at the beautiful view her mind would begin to wonder about him; if he was by some small chance staring in her direction from his home miles away. Blissful thoughts would then suddenly disappear once she remembered their last meeting that took place upon this very hill... when she asked if he wanted to stay the night.
She grudgingly remembered how nervous and awkward she was in front of the handsome wolf, her fingers playing with her kimono sleeves as she stuttered the question to him; like some bashful shy school girl confessing a crush.
She also remembered how he nicely declined her offer.
She didn't have any ulterior motives behind the offer; only wanting to spend more time with wolf before he disappeared from her life once again. She just honestly didn't think he'd keep her promise to her that he made underneath the stars. And with putting all these scary confusing emotions and feelings she had erupting through her aside, Koga was still a dear friend to her and she didn't realise just how much she missed the wolf demon until he reappeared back into her life.
An exaggerated sigh left her lips, as she continued walking through the forest until her hazel eyes landed on a short withering dead tree, its top branch only towering over her at least eight inches high.
The trunk was skinny, maybe a little thicker than the size of her thigh, which was perfect for her to be able to cut through with the axe that she carried.
Usually Miroku brought her firewood when he went out to retrieve his own, but she simply forgot to tell him. And she didn't want to bother the other villagers for theirs.
The miko walked up to the leafless tree, her small hands clutching the handle to the axe tightly.
She lifted the axe up, slightly angled, and brought the sharpen blade down against the bark with force.
The sound of the wood cracking from the blade could be heard as she struggled to pull the axe from the wedge she created.
With all her might she pulled the axe free slightly stumbling back on sandled feet from the unexpected release.
Regaining her balance she once again held the axe up high, and swung, the blade once again meeting with the wedge she created from the previous hit.
She pulled the axe out from the cracked trunk with less struggle this time, bringing it up in the air to swing once again. As she brought the blade down, she stopped suddenly midway of the strike..
Hands clutched the handle tightly as she held the axe in midair, her eyes widening in shock as her pale skin broke out in goosebumps.
A demon.
She slowly stood straight up, inhaling a deep breath of air to calm her spiritual energy that sent shock waves of alarm through her body at the approaching demon.
She closed her eyes so she could concentrate on the demons aura for its precise location, completely blocking out everything around her.
It was coming from behind her, at top speed.
She silently cursed herself for not bringing her bow and quiver with her; naively thinking she wouldn't be needing it.
Her small hands clutched onto the wooden handle; so tight her knuckles turned white.
The curve of the axe blade started to faintly glow purple, as she concentrated on her spiritual power getting ready to attack the approaching form.
There was no point in fleeing; the demon would eventually catch up to her in seconds no matter how fast she ran.
She figured attacking the demon head on was the best.. the only option.
He was getting closer...
Maybe a few hundred feet away...
Her eyebrows furrowed as she concentrated.
He will be here in...

1...
Her eyes snapped opened as her body swung around, long black hair whipping in the air as she held the axe up high above her head, the blade glowing a bright purple.
She yelled as she brought the weapon down with all her might on surprised azure eyes.
Before the miko could sink the blade into bronzed flesh, the wolf demon jumped suddenly back, his instincts telling him just in time he was in immediate danger.
"Damn Kagome!" He shouted, barely missed the swinging blade.
Shocked eyes stared at the wolf king before her, the weapon immediately falling out of her grasp landing on the forest floor with a thud, its purple glow quickly fading away.
"K-koga?" She stuttered in surprise.
He smirked, as a clawed hand rubbed against his bare arm where the axe would have hit if he didn't jump away in time.
The tan flesh slightly tingled from the closeness of the blade, while his entire body was covered in goosebumps from the spiritual energy that still lingered in the air.
"That's the second time you almost purified me, Kagome." He joked.
Her hands trembled slightly as she stumbled forward making her way to him. Her arms wrapping around his waist as her head buried itself into his chest of armor.
Azure eyes widened with surprise by the mikos sudden embrace.
Worry soon struck through him as a clawed hand went to the top of her head, fingers lightly rubbing the silky black hair as he tried to comfort her.
"Kag-"
"I'm sorry!" She said interrupting him, "I could have seriously injured you, Koga.. or worse. I'm so sorry."
I could have killed him...
Her arms tightened around his waist at the horrible thought.
He simply chuckled, his clawed hand still rubbing her head as the other reached up to her chin, gently lifting it up so he could see her beautiful face.
Kind azure eyes stared down at worried hazel ones.
"You're fine Kagome. It was my fault.. I shouldn't have ran up on you from behind while you were out here alone."
"But-"
Kogas clawed thumb brushed against her parted lips, immediately silencing her.
"Shhh. Kagome you're fine..." he whispered.
They stood like that for a while, her arms still wrapped around his waist, as his thumb continued to brush back and forth upon her bottom lip.
Her cheeks flushed from their closeness and the intimate touch of his thumb on her mouth.
She continued to look up at him, as his eyes stared intently at her lips, deep in thought.
Suddenly his eyes slightly widened, finally realizing what he was doing to the miko.
He quickly pulled away from her, taking a step away from her warm embrace. His hand nervously ran through his dark hair as his eyes anxiously glanced at the ground, avoiding the girl in front of him.
"What are you even doing out here by yourself?" He asked.
With crimson cheeks she stepped away from the wolf demon, slowly making her way back to pick up the forgotten axe off the ground. "I was getting firewood."
"Firewood?" He questioned.
"Mmhmm," she said "I need it to make a fire for tonight so I can make pottage."
"Pottage? What is that?" He asked curiously. In all his hundreds of years of being alive he has never heard of pottage. But then again, he also never had human friends either...
"It"s a stew with meat and vegetables." she said as she walked back to the small tree she was hacking at before. She once again lifted the axe in the air, getting ready to swing... until she felt a hand lightly touch her shoulder from behind.
"Koga?"
"I'll help you."
She slowly brought the axe back down, "Oh, you dont have to!"
"I want to." He simply said, his one hand grasping the tree trunk, and with barely any force he pushed against the trunk making it immediately snap apart with ease.
Oh...
She watched as he began breaking off the tree branches and snapping the wooden trunk apart with his bare hands.
He was taking apart the tree within minutes before her, whereas it would have taken her a hour or two with the help of the axe...
"Koga, why are you here?" She suddenly asked.
He paused and looked back at the miko.
A smirk graced his lips as his tail swished back and forth. "Well I did make a promise to you, didn't I?"
Kagome immediately snapped out of her thoughts, as the knife she was using to cut the onions sliced through her pointer finger.
"Ow." She hissed, as the sharp pain of opening flesh spread through her.
She immediately dropped the knife from her hand, onion slightly swaying back and forth forgotten on cutting board.
She brought her hand up, watching as the blood quickly gather at the fresh opening of the cut and slowly drip down her finger.
That's what you get for not paying attention to what you are doing...
She was about to take her kimono sleeve and hold it against the cut with pressure; to stop the bleeding, until suddenly a clawed hand reached out and grabbed her small hand.
Surprised hazel eyes stared at the crouching demon in front of her.
She didn't even hear him move from his position near the warm fire to where she was kneeling...
"Kagome..." he said her name in a husky whisper, sending chills down her spine.
She watched as his lips parted slightly; his white pearly fangs peeking out from underneath his top lip. His nostrils flared as he took in deep breaths of air, slowly bringing her hand closer to his face, her bleeding finger just millimeters away from his lips.
Glowing azure eyes stared down at her, it's dark blue pupil turning into a thin slit; reminding her of the way his eyes looked when he brushed his lips against hers...
"You need to be more careful..." he growled, causing her heart to beat widely within her breasts.
Her eyes widened as she watched his tongue dart out from inside his mouth, and slowly lick up the side of her finger, the rough texture of his tongue gathering the dripping blood. His eyes closed in bliss as he savored the taste of her.
She tried to pull her hand out of his grasp, not out of fear of him, but because of how her body was reacting to the gliding tongue upon her sensitive flesh.
But, no matter how hard she tried to pull away from him, her hand barely budged within his.
"Kog-" her voice caught in her throat as his soft lips latched onto her finger, his tongue gently brushing against the cut now.
Every inch of her pale skin radiated a crimson hue as it continued to heat up, hazel eyes glazed over as heavy breathes left her parted lips from every swipe of his tongue.
Once closed eyes behind thick dark lashes suddenly snapped open to reveal glowing demonic ones.
The wolf king stared at the miko, his lips slowly breaking away from the glistening wound on her finger that no longer bleed.
With a grin, his tongue slowly emerged from his lips, pleasantly running the tip over his top lip...
"You taste so fucking good..." he groaned with want.
He lightly pulled her forward by her hand, her face now inches away from his own. She was so close to him she could feel the hot breath leave his parted lips and brush against her skin.
"I want to taste more of you..." be whispered as he slowly leaned into her.
This time she didn't pull away from, instead her body arched up to him, her eyes slowly closing and lips parting for him to devour her...
"Aunt Kagome?"
Hazel eyes immediately snapped open in shock as the priestess whipped her head to the side to face the entrance of her home.
She got a view of wide surprised eyes belonging to Sango, Miroku and their children staring at the wolf demon who still clutched onto the mikos hand, his face still inches away from her own.
"So, who's the wolf?" Seia asked aloud breaking the awkward silence, her arms crossing over her chest.
Oh. My. God...
