"KAGOME! COME BACK!"

The sound of crunching leaves and snapping twigs under barefeet cut through the silent darkened forest.

Heavy puffs of breathe left painted red lips as the priestess ran with all her might through the maze of trees.

"KAGOME!"

She felt her hair loosen from the tight binds of combs and hairpins that littered her hair; whisps of black tresses fell over her face while she desperately pulled the bottom of her kimono off the the ground to give her legs more room to run.

The beautiful kimono she adorned kept getting snagged upon the skeleton branches and shrubs, but through gritted teeth she pressed on as she clutched her sandles to her chest.

Rin calling her name was faint to her ears now, the only sound she could hear was her heart frantically beating within her breasts.

I'm sorry, Rin...

I'm so sorry, Lord Sesshomaru...

I just...

"HOWWWLLL!"

Kagome stopped in her tracks as the sound of Kogas howl reached her ears. Her breasts heaved up and down; desperately trying to regain the breathe in her lungs after her long run.

"KOGA!" She shouted his name into the night.

Hazel eyes squinted into the darkness, the only form of light that aided her was light from the milky moon from high above.

"KOGA!"

Her painted lips quivered slightly, as her eyes became blurry from the tears she held back.

He saw me with Lord Sesshomaru...

She clutched the expensive sandles to her chest as her mind began to race with thoughts of the powerful lord.

Earlier when she came upon Lord Sesshomaru at the temple she had felt another demons prescense nearby, but her senses became muddled when she was pushed to stand in front of the dog demon.

The way he had been treating her as of late; with such kindness and gentleness, caused her to become some what nervous and bashful in his presence.

And with these constant confusing feelings erupting inside her for the dog demon; it for some reason caused her priestess abilities to dull to the point where she became so flustered infront of him that she was unable to concentrate on the surroundings around her... Much like this very night.

And of course it happened when Koga was nearby... watching from the shadows from high above.

She bit down upon her lip as thoughts of the wolf king plagued her thoughts once again.

Did he get the wrong idea when he saw me with Lord Sesshomaru? Is that why he ran off?

A shiver ran up her spine as she remembered the powerful demonic aura that came off in waves from where Koga had been hiding upon the roof.

It was only then that she seemed to just notice him right before he ran off into the forest...

Squeezing her eyes shut she began to concentrate on her surroundings, desperately searching for the aura of the wolf king.

I must find him...

I MUST!

It took a few minutes, but eventually hazel eyes snapped open.

"There... I found you..." she said softly under her breath.

His aura was faint, and immobile. The wolf must have stopped running at some point, and thankfully it wasn't to far from where she now stood.

She pushed herself forward, ignoring the pain of stones and twigs that she landed upon with her naked feet.

Her eyes stared straight ahead with determination while her body dodged tree branches and lifted roots as her spiritual gift directed her on where to go.

She didn't know how long she'd been running, it seemed all night to her, but she didn't stop till the feeling of electrical sparks ran through her body accompanied with the dusting of goosebumps that covered her white flesh; warning her that danger lurked up ahead. And when the warning became unbearable that's when she finally slowed down to a walking pace.

Her heart pounded within her breasts as she pulled back branches that lead to a clearing of a large lake surrounded by a grassy field.

Tall grass fluttered in the autumn breeze that surrounded the shimmering still water; its dark depths a mirror to the moon and the twinkling stars in the blacken sky from up above.

Fireflies danced around the serene area, creating a warm yellow glow that would erupt then soon disappear into the night. While the sounds of chirping crickets and humming toads sang their night time lullaby.

The miko slowly made her way through the tall grass, her eyes frantically searching for the wolf king, till they finally landed upon a hunched over form leaning against a large tree near the massive body of water.

"Koga..." she whispered his name.

Dropping her sandles to the ground along with the bottom of her kimono, Kagome briskly made her way towards the wolf demon.

Her eyes raked over his huddled body that shook aggressively.

"Ko-"

"STAY AWAY FROM ME!" He shouted.

The miko stopped in her tracks, her eyebrows furrowing with worry as she looked upon the wolf.

His aura is all over the the place... it's almost suffocating...

"What's wrong?"

"Just stay away from me, Kagome! Go back to the village!" He said while he continued to gasp for air.

"Tell me what's wrong... Please, Koga, let me help you." she begged, taking a brave step forward.

"You can't help me... Just leave already! I don't want to hurt you!"

The miko continued to place one foot in front of the other, ignoring his warning. "You would never hurt me, Koga." Kagome said softly.

She now stood over his hunched over form, hazel eyes peering down at the broad back of the wolf king. One clawed hand grasped a small object tightly to his palm while the other dug its sharp claws into the bark of the tree that he leaned into. She watched as his back expanded as he took in deep breaths of air while his long hair cascaded over his face, shielding him from her searching gaze.

Slowly she bent over slightly, a gentle hand reaching out towards him...

"You reek of him..." the wolf hissed.

She stopped, her hand suspended in midair as her eyes widened when the sound of disgust in his words reached her ears.

Slowly she retracted her hand, "Who?"

"Who?" He questioned mockingly.

He stood straight up suddenly, pulling his hand away from the tree, his claws that were once dug into the rough bark made a loud crack once they were removed.

He turned to face the miko, his tall muscular form towering over her as he slightly lifted his head to peer down at her.

She took a tentative step back as she quickly noticed his usual calm cerulean eyes were tinted pink.

"You smell like that disgusting dog."

She quirked a thin eyebrow at his words as she lifted her kimono sleeve to her nose, her nostrils expanding slightly as she took in a few sniffs of the silken fabric. "I don't smell anything..."

"His scent is all over you." He growled.

She remained silent under his angered gaze, not sure on what to say or do at this very moment.

Why is he so mad that I smell like Lord Sesshomaru? I don't understand...

"Did he give you that kimono?"

The priestess glanced back up at the wolf king, hazel eyes scanning over his hardened festures, "Yes?"

The wolf squeezed his eyes shut, as if he was in some deep concentration. While doing this Kagome noticed he clutched the object within his one hand even more tightly. "What do you feel for him?"

"For... Lord Sesshomaru?"

"Yes."

Kagomes eyes widened in shock.

He can't possibly be this upset over Lord Sesshomaru... he has no right to be!

Especially when he has Ayame!

The miko crossed her arms over her breasts while she glared up at the wolf demon before her. "It shouldn't matter what my feelings are for him."

Kogas eyes snapped open at her words. "Of course it matters!"

A scowl tugged at the mikos lips as she felt frustration and anger rise up within her. "No it doesn't matter, Koga. You have no right to be this... this... upset!"

"... I... have no right?"

"No!" She fumed. "Why are you so angry? Why did you run away earlier? Why would you even care who I have feelings for?"

Koga stood before the priestess in bewilderment. His eyes, now back to their mystifying blue that were now wide with pure shock. "You are completely unaware..."

"Unaware? Unaware of what?"

Kagome felt her eyes begin cloud over once again as they filled up with tears. She bit down upon her bottom lip as hard as she could to help her from not letting the droplets fall.

She was looking forward to this special day for so long; constantly praying that Koga would come to the festival so they could spend time together.

She hadn't even seen him in weeks, and when she finally was able to see him once again... he was angry with her.

"Why do you think I come to your village all the time, Kagome?" He asked softly, causing the miko to stare up into his eyes with confusion.

"Why do you think I provide you with food and gifts? Why do you think I make sure you are well taken care of at all times? Why do you think I constantly worry about you? Why do you think I get so jealous over any man who gives you any sort of attention?"

Azure eyes searched into confused hazel ones, desperately hoping that they knew the answer to his questions.

But, Kagome remained silent, not really sure what to say, for she always just assumed it was because of their friendship. And when it came to the jealousy part... she never picked up on it till now.

"You really don't know do you?" He whispered, as he slowly leaned down towards the miko.

He was so close, so close that she felt his hot breathe leaving his parted lips and intermingle with her own.

A fierce blush covered her skin as she stared shyly into the wolf kings eyes, "Koga..." she whispered his name.

"I guess I'll just have to show you then."

He closed his eyes and leaned into her, his soft lips barely brushing against her own.

Her eyes widened in shock by his brief gentle kiss as she watched him slowly pull away from her for a mere moment.

His eyes, half lidded looked down upon her, waiting to see her reaction to his sudden loving gesture.

The priestess stood there frozen, her face burning intensely while her lips tingled from where he brushed his own upon hers.

He ... kissed... me...

Suddenly the wolf leaned into the miko once again, but this time pressing his mouth more fully upon her own.

She soon felt one clawed hand reach up and gently glide it's way into the nape of her neck, his long fingers intertwining through the silky tresses of her hair.

A gasp of surprise left the mikos lips when a strong arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her against his chest of armor, her small hands immediately placing themselves upon the torso of the wolf for balance.

And when the she gasped, Koga took the the opportunity to press his tongue through her parted lips.

He growled lowly in esctasy as he tasted her for the first time, his tongue playfully running over her blunt teeth and the smoothness of her tongue. Slowly he retracted his tongue, and nipped at her bottom lip teasingly for a moment only to once again assault her mouth aggressively with his tongue.

Her mind went blank as she melted into his arms.

Slowly her eyes began to close as a soft moan left her lips in pleasure from him exploring her mouth.

While one hand remained placed upon the wolf demons torso, the other slowly trailed over his broad chest, over his collar bone and eventually to the back of his neck, pulling him closer to her, which he gladly obeyed.

Their lips seemed to be locked for hours, tongues in constant battle for dominance. Until eventually the wolf king slowly pulled away from the priestess, his usual bronzed skin illuminating a red glow as heavy pants left his lips as he tried to regain his breathe. His azure eyes glazed over with pure lust as he stared down at the girl before him.

Hazel eyes stared up at him with swollen lips parted as she to tried to regain her breath as well. "Koga..." she whispered his name through gasps of air.

She felt his hand glide from the back of her head to cup her blushing cheek, his calloused thumb gently rubbing against her skin.

His features softened slightly as he slowly placed his forehead against her own.

She felt the coolness of the silver crown he wore pressed ever so slightly against her skin as his gorgeous eyes locked onto her own.

"Is this a dream?" He whispered. "Please tell me this isn't dream."

"It's not a dream." Kagome replied softly.

He sighed happily, his embrace tightening around her waist. "My prayers have been answered then. I prayed to the gods every night to have this moment with you."

Lightly he placed a kiss upon her lips, "I love you, Kagome."

She froze within his embrace as he once again placed another delicate kiss upon her lips, only to linger upon the softness of the skin for a moment till he pulled away. "I've always loved you, Kagome, and only you."

In that moment she felt a array of feelings burst within her; She felt pure happiness, excitement, pleasure along with the calming feeling of peacefulness.

The man that she loved and cared deeply for had just confessed to her.

He was even holding her within his arms at this very moment and had even kissed her passionately to the point where it left them both breathless.

And yet.

The feeling of sadness loomed over her.

The man whom she loved so much, was already promised to another.

Slowly the tears that Kagome so desperately held back from earlier leaked down her cheeks. "I'm sorry... I can't..."

The wolf kings eyebrows furrowed with confusion as he looked upon the crying girl. His arm immediately leaving her waist to cup the other side of her face, thumbs from both hands gently wiping away the falling droplets. "Sorry for what?" He questioned with worry, "Kagome, I don't understand..."

She couldn't hold it back anymore.

The tears came down her cheeks more aggressively, as her bottom lip began to quiver. "A...ya...me..." she choked the demonesses name between crys.

The wolf king froze for a moment once the name that left the crying girls lips reached his ears, "Ayame?"

Kagomes head nodded within his hands, "You... are promised... to her." She sniffed. "Why... would you... play with my feelings... when you are promised to her?"

"Oh Kagome..."

Suddenly he pulled the priestess into a warm embrace. His shoulders slightly hunched over as he placed his face into the crook of her neck. He took in a deep breath of air, enhaling as much of her addicting natural perfume as he could. "You are the one I love, the only one. It has only been just you in my heart since the first day I laid my eyes upon you... And I will give up everything to be with you."

She stood there held within his tight embrace, her tears slowing up as she softly sniffed. "But..."

"I've decided to cancel the treaty with the North. My engagement to Ayame will be no more." He sighed deeply, his hot breath tickling her sensitive skin. "I've chosen you to be my future mate, to be my Queen, Kagome."

Her eyes widened in shock as her heart fluttered at his words.

His mate...

His Queen...

Her thoughts were soon plagued with the warning her dear friend Sango had given her during their last demon extermination.

"But, your tribe..."

Koga pulled away from the warmth of her skin and looked down upon the stunned miko. "My people will accept you as my mate, as my chosen Queen of the East... and as their future Lunar Queen. Whatever happens, I want you to always be by my side, Kagome."

"What about the North?" She whispered, her hazel eyes falling away from the wolf kings intense stare.

The Northern tribe would be gravely upset and would feel slighted... Sango would be right, war would ensure due to Kogas sudden decision.

Gently the wolf demon took his hand and lifted the mikos head upwards, for her to meet his gaze so she could know just how serious he was this very moment. "There is nothing to be worried about when it comes to the North, I already have a plan set in motion."

"A plan?"

"Yes."

She didn't know what to say to the wolf demon.

Her mind was racing from thoughts of the kiss that took place between them and tingley feeling upon her lips that he left behind, to his sudden confession of his love for her followed by his plan on voiding the treaty with the North.

So much was happening all at once and she didn't know how to process everything.

She felt his hand gently tuck a piece of her fallen hair behind her ear, bringing her back from her hectic thoughts.

He smiled softly at her, his eyes scanning over her concerned features, "I don't expect a answer right away... " He whispered, "You can take as long as you wish..."

Slowly he retracted his hand away from her to reveal a bracelet that he had been holding onto this whole time. Her curious eyes scanned over the silver piece of jewelry that seemed to glow in contrast against his bronzed skin while the blue and gray gemstones that was set into the silver shimmered in the moon light.

"This was my Mothers, my Father had given her this bracelet as a proposal gift when he asked her to be his mate." Gently the wolf grabbed her hand and placed the delicate piece of jewelry within her palm, "And I want you to have it, Kagome."

The miko remained silent, her hazel eyes entranced by the beautiful piece of jewelry as the tips of her fingers lightly glided over the smooth stones.

Suddenly she felt him place a finger under chin, gently lifting her head up to face him once again. "Now, let me continue to show you just how much I love you."

Koga wasted no more time after saying those words to her. He quickly leaned into the miko and claimed her lips with his own once again.
