Eleven months later, Andy and Robert were sitting in their kitchen having breakfast, talking about their wedding anniversary coming up. Andy was finally more relaxed when it came to talking about their marriage. The whole team finally accepted the fact that Andy and Robert were in love and were married. Robert had suggested to Andy that on their one year anniversary they should renew their vows and have all their friends there. Andy was a little nervous because of the fact that her dad wasn't going to be their this time to walk her down the aisle, and she became sad. Andy also remembered that the one year anniversary of her fathers death was coming up. Robert saw the hurt in her eyes and wrapped his arms around her and hugged her and she let a few tears slip. Robert knew it was because Pruitt wouldn't be there to see them renew their vows. Robert whispered into Andy's ear telling her how much he loved her, and that her dad would be with her in spirit and in her heart. After a few moments, Andy took a deep breath and told Robert that she wanted to do just that. Robert was so happy to hear those words come from Andy. Robert knew Andy struggled for months, because her friends that was her family gave her such a hard time and planted so much doubt in her head about their marriage. So seeing his wife happy about renewing their vows made him smile. Robert asked Andy if she wanted to tell the team, and Andy said of course, she also decided that she wanted to call and tell her mom. Andy's relationship with her mom was still in the healing process but she wanted her to be there. So Robert and Andy decided to clean up their kitchen and call their friends. Andy called Vic and Maya on face-time to tell them the news and Robert called the guys.
Meanwhile sitting in their living room Andy was talking to Vic and Maya, and telling them about how her and Robert planned to renew their vows. Maya and Vic expressed their excitement and told Andy they would love to be there and help plan for her special day. Andy was so happy to hear that they wanted to help. Maya and Vic had offered to come to Andy's house at noon to start planning there vow renewal since they only have a month. They hung up and Andy then called her mom and told her the news. Elena was surprised by Andy's call since they were still repairing their relationship. Elena was happy for her daughter and told her that she wouldn't miss it, and told Andy if she needed any help planning she would help. The call lasted about 15minutes. when they hung up Andy looked over to her husband with a huge smile on her face. Robert was still on his call with Travis, Ben, Jack, and Dean. He was surprised as to how supportive they have become and happy they offered to help with the plans. The guys decided to get together around noon at their house as well. Robert finished his phone call and turned to his wife and smiled. Seeing Andy this happy made him so happy. He reached his hand out to her and she came to sit on his lap. The two kissed, and then discussed their plans for that day. Andy and Robert went upstairs to their bedroom and showered together. Once they were finished showering they got dressed and decided to plan lunch for when their friends came over at noon. Its was about 11:55am when their doorbell rang. Robert was in the kitchen finishing up making lunch, so Andy went and answered the door. She smiled when she saw Vic and Maya. About 10minutes later the doorbell rang again, Andy opened it to see the guys standing there. they came inside and everyone took a seat in the dining room to eat lunch.
Everyone was sitting around the dining room table eating chicken, corn on the cob and salad. They were making small talk, about their lives since it was the first time they have sat together for a meal in about 3 months. Once they were finished eating Andy and Robert cleaned up and joined their friends back at the table. The guys decided to go into the living room and discuss plans while the girls stayed at the table. In the living room, Robert talked with Dean, Ben, Travis and Jack. They talked about tuxedos, and wedding rings since they still hadn't gotten any. Robert wanted to surprise Andy with a beautiful ring, so Travis had told him her knew a guy at a jeweler that could customize a ring for him. Robert called the tuxedo place and set up an appointment for him and the guys to go try suits on, while Travis called his friend at the jewelers and set up a time for Robert to meet with him to pick out rings. The tailor and jeweler were able to see them today. Robert, went and told his wife that him and the guys were going to step out and go try on suits, they kissed each other goodbye, and he grabbed his keys and him and the guys left.
Meanwhile, Andy and the girls were at the house discussing plans. Andy decided that she wanted to get married outside at the beach. Vic and Maya loved that idea, and called Meredith Grey to ask her to officiate the wedding. Meredith had agreed since her and Andy had become friends. Andy didn't know that Maya called Meredith because she wanted to surprise Andy. Next they talked about what beach she wanted her wedding at. She chose Alki Beach it was about an hour from their house, but she loved spending many nights there, when her and Robert weren't on shift, they watching the sunsets. Vic and Maya then asked Andy where she would like to have their wedding reception. Andy told them she would love to have the reception on the roof at the station, so she could party with her friends at her dads favorite place. Vic and Maya looked at her with a huge smile and agreed that her dad would love that idea, so they marked that off their list. They moved to the next topic on what food they would eat. Andy chose to have her favorite restaurant The Pink Door cater. So Vic called The Pink Door to place their cater order for the reception. Next they talked about flowers, Vic said she knew the place that Ripley had gone to buy flowers for her and that the owner was super nice. He had sent Vic flowers after Ripley had passed and told her anytime she needed flowers to give him a call. So Vic called him and ordered red roses with babies breath, and white daises. She also ordered Andy's bouquet. The last thing the girls had to work out was dresses. Maya knew the perfect place to go. It was the shop that they had to responded to a gas leak a year ago, and the lady told them to come see her once she had rebuilt her store, since they saved her life, if they knew anyone getting married. So Maya called and asked if they could come down in about an hour. The girls got ready and Andy grabbed her keys and they left.
At the tailor shop Robert and the guys tried on suits and after about an hour and a half, he found the perfect ones. The suits were black with a white shirt underneath with a red tye and red cufflinks. Robert knew his wife loved the color red so he had to incorporate it in the suit somehow. The owner said they could pick the suits up in 3 weeks. The guys left the tailor and headed to the jewelers. It was about a 15minute drive, the guys talked about getting together again on their next day off. They didn't really know what to talk about with their chief because they never took the chance to really get to know him. But they slowly were, because they cared about Andy being happy. They arrived at the jewelers and went in. Robert knew what he was looking for. He wanted a white gold band for Andy, with diamonds on the whole band. He also asked for it to be engraved, saying "you have my heart, always and forever." Then for himself, he wanted a plain white gold band with the same engraving. The owner said he could definitely do that for Robert. He said that they would be in, in about 2 weeks. Robert and the guys headed back to his house. Meanwhile at the dress store Andy, Vic and Maya were trying on so many dresses. Andy picked out beautiful red dresses with a white lace down the back of it, for Vic and Maya. Andy had 3 dresses she really liked. When she finally decided on the one she wanted she shed a few happy tears. The dress was white with lace down the back, with a red ribbon around her waist. She also chose a beautiful tiara with a white lacey veil. The lady said the dresses would be ready to be picked up in 3 weeks, to make sure they don't need any alterations. The girls left to head back to Andy's house.
After being out and running around and making plans with their friends, they all returned to the house at about 7pm. Andy had asked if everyone wanted to stay for dinner, they were ordering a pizza. Their friends said sure. While waiting for the pizza to arrive, Vic and Jack had remembered a while back about Robert asking them about their hobbies and what they did on their days off. They remembered that Robert liked to make smoothies, and asked him if he could make some of his famous smoothies for them to try. Of course Robert said yes and had a huge smile on his face, Andy saw the joy in his face and she smiled. He made Andy's favorite, strawberry banana smoothies. He handed a smoothie to all their friends, and as he handed Andy hers, the doorbell rang, it was the pizza. They all ate pizza and enjoyed Robert's smoothie. After everyone was done eating and drinking their smoothies they talked for about an hour about the vow renewal. The team loved seeing Andy happy, and smiling. They haven't seen much of that since Captain Pruitt passed away and Andy finding out her mom was still alive after 20 years. So seeing her happy made them so happy for her. Andy finally had the happiness and love that she longed for and never thought she would find. It was about 9pm an their friends decided it was time to head out and go home because they all had to be at the station at 8am for shift. After everyone left, Andy locked up the house and met Robert in the kitchen, and helped him finish up cleaning up. Once they were done, they sat on the couch to unwind and share with each other the plans that they came up with for their special day. Robert noticed his wife starting to fall asleep as they were talking so he suggested they head to bed. Andy and Robert shut all the lights off and headed upstairs to their bedroom. They changed into their pajamas, and crawled into bed. They kissed each other goodnight, and Robert pulled his wife closer to him and they cuddled as they drifted to sleep.
