"Mija," Maribel Lopez began glancing at her husband for a second, neither one of them knew what to say but they knew they had to be gentle. "I know that this interview makes it seem like she's your soulmate. It certainly explains the bruising and the broken arm that you received, but what if she isn't your soulmate and this is all one huge coincidence? To give her hope and then for it not to pan out?"

Santana hesitated for a brief moment, before looking away. She hadn't thought of that. "It's not like I planned to blurt it out tomorrow when I see her again. I didn't think about how she would handle it; I broke our bond and she thought I died. She's going to think—I mean I did abandon her, so she's probably not going to be happy."

"If you're really her soulmate then she'll forgive you once you carefully explain why you did what you did," Brittany said dismissively.

"She might accept it, that doesn't mean that she'll ignore that her soulmate abandoned her. Her soul was crying out for mine, it's not like she meant to cause me pain. I've always known that it was involuntary," Santana runs a hand through her hair, this was far more complicated than she thought it would be, and while she appreciated Brittany's optimism, she doubted that things would be okay just because they were soulmates. Charlie was about a year younger than her and for the last fifteen years or so she had believed that her soulmate was dead.

"There is also that unfortunate fact that your soulmate is currently seeing someone," Miguel pointed out from he was currently googling Charlotte Fabray. He turns his iPad over so that everyone could see Charlie on a red carpet with her arm around the waist of some actress.

"Doesn't she play Supergirl?" Brittany asked, studying the photo, it was one of her favorite shows. "Your soulmate is dating a superhero Santana," Brittany said flatly as she made a face.

Santana blinked and looked at Brittany, she was one of the few people who hadn't abandoned her after she broke her soulmate bond. "So? It doesn't matter, Charlie played Lucifer in the Wicked and the Divine and she was really, really good in it."

Maribel sighed, "That in itself is an issue Santana. She's famous, the first season of The Wicked and the Divine was well received, but think about that for a moment. There's a chance that she might not believe you. What are you going to do then?"

Santana hesitated, that was also a good point that she hadn't thought of. Her mother was right, there was a good chance that Charlie would simply reject her to begin with and there probably was no coming back from that, she didn't want to come off as a crazed stalker. "Even if she did believe me, which is doubtful it's not like we could be soulmates, there is no coming back from what I did. We would never be normal mates. It doesn't change the fact that my presence makes people uncomfortable. Which will probably hamper her career anyway."

Brittany frowned at Santana's attitude, "You should tell her. You're not giving her a chance, you've been making decisions that affect the two of you since you were a teenager, and the last time you did that—" Brittany trails off and looks at Santana. "Telling her is the right thing to do, even if she doesn't react positively. That shouldn't even matter because it's been like fifteen years, she's going to need time to process what you tell her, and maybe your soulmate bond doesn't come back. That doesn't mean that you two can't be happy with one another. If you were soulmates with her, then you were destined to be together and even without the bond you two would be happy with each other."

Santana sighed and glanced at her phone which had begun to buzz, "You're probably right—"

"I'm always right," Brittany corrected.

"But I'd rather not be the reason that there are thousands of people out of a job. I need this job and I really don't want to go to a million interviews, where I get turned down because I make people uncomfortable." Santana makes a face as she reads the text. "I need to get back to work, it's all hands-on deck and since I'm in charge of PR, I should probably make an appearance." With that said, Santana grabs her purse and her jacket. "I'll see you this Sunday for dinner," she shoots at her parents.

"Bring your soulmate! I've never met anyone famous before," Brittany calls out, and sighs when Santana ignores her, she turns to look at Maribel and Miguel. "If her soulmate is joining you, I want to meet her. But I'm going to go and watch the Wicked and the Divine."

~ O ~

Quinn smirked as she reached over to touch the black in Charlie's hair causing her twin to smack her hand away. "Good to see you again Luci."

"Shut up," Charlie shot Quinn a look. "This is your fault." Charlie grumbled.

"Yes, it's my fault that you didn't read all 45 issues of the Wicked and the Divine. It's a comic book Charlie and by the laws of comic books, no one stays dead." Quinn rolled her eyes at Charlie's petulance, before waving a finger around, gesturing to the fact that they were in an elevator currently headed up to their father's company. "And this is your fault. I thought we agreed."

"We did." Charlie agreed. "Then I got harassed by this woman, whining about jobs and how it'll be in our best interest to keep this place in the family. I got her to go away, and really it's an hour of our lives, we can give them at least that, before we sell the place off."

Quinn frowned as the elevator doors opened, "Should I be concerned that you're acting all warm and fuzzy?" When Charlie scowls at her she can't help but reach up and flick the black highlight that was in Charlie's hair. "Was she at least pretty?"

Charlie slaps Quinn's hand away again, "I don't know."

"You don't know if she was pretty or not?" Quinn questioned; her tone slightly incredulous. She immediately reaches for Charlie's forehead only for Charlie to once again swat her hand away. "Are you sure you're okay? With all of this? You've been off since we found out—Rachel thinks it's because Marley didn't make the trip—"

"Thank you for giving us this opportunity." Dwight interrupts, causing both twins to stop and look up at him. He clears his throat, and motions to the boardroom. "We've set up there, and we have coffee and tea available. So, whenever you're ready—" Dwight frowns when both twins turn and immediately make their way to the boardroom. It wasn't looking good for them and it was clear that they had an uphill battle, but at least they knew why the twins wanted to sell this place off.

Charlie entered the room and glanced around there were quite a few men standing in the room, staring at the two of them, but she didn't spot the woman who had convinced them to give them this chance. Then again, the meeting hadn't yet begun, so there was no use pointing out that she was missing, especially since she was certain Quinn and Rachel would meddle. "Let's get this meeting started."

"Of course," Dwight said as he nodded at Dustin to get the presentation started.

Charlie immediately pulls out her phone and begins to check her emails as the men prattle on, she glances over at Quinn who does seem to be listening and she goes back to looking over scripts. Her agent had been adamant that one of these scripts was an Academy Award contender, maybe she could give Rachel the rub. She had been dying to get an Oscar. Perhaps the distraction would get her and Quinn to stop meddling in love life.

Once she's finished skimming her emails, and sending a few off to Rachel to see what she thought she looks up at the video that was playing, and tilts her head. They had been droning about financial projections for about ten minutes now and even Quinn looked bored. "As interesting as listening to you men drone on about financial projections is—I thought that the person who got us to the table would be here."

Quinn flicked her eyes over to Charlie, and raised a brow. She hadn't expected Charlie to say a word once she had begun to read her emails. But she was clearly listening even if it was absentmindedly. "I too would like to meet the woman who managed to convince my twin that we should even attend this meeting. As far as I'm concerned you all owe everything to her."

"Well—"

Dustin Goolsby immediately stepped forward, before Dwight could finish. "It was decided that she wouldn't be joining us. While we're grateful for her getting this meeting with you, however it wasn't her place. Especially given her condition—"

"Her condition?" Charlie repeats. "What condition is that?"

"Dustin—"

Dustin pushed forward ignoring Dwight, "She broke her soulmate bond. The result of doing something that goes against nature, is that she makes people, everyone around her uneasy. Like extremely uneasy."

Quinn turned to look at Charlie who hadn't said anything which meant that Charlie was processing, meaning it was her turn to speak up. "There are legitimate reasons why someone would need to break a bond—"

"They never met," Dustin finished. "She did it before they ever met. I've met people like her before but never like this, the moment she enters a room, people feel it and we believed that it was for the best if you weren't repulsed by her."

"Okay, wow." Quinn said getting up. "And with that I've made up my mind, there is no saving a super toxic place to work for like this one, and I don't have the time to clean this place up. Of course, our father was a shitty boss on top of all of his other sins, because he let this continue. We're not going to clean things up for him. Nor do we want this to be our legacy. Right Charlie?" When Charlie doesn't get up with her Quinn turns and looks at her twin. "Charlie?"

"If we decide to keep this place at least for a year? Can we fire whoever we want?" Charlie asked.

"Not what we agreed too," Quinn interrupts immediately, a frown on her features. Charlie hadn't been this impulsive since they were teenagers.

Dwight hesitates before nodding, "We would announce a new CEO to take over for your father, but this is still your company—"

Charlie points to Dustin, "You're fired," Charlie states as she gets up and fixes her jacket. "You have a year to bring in record profits or we sell the company. So, your goals for the year are to bring in record profits, and fix your shitty work culture. Since my twin doesn't want to do it, every month on the first you will present me with the financial standing and a general report. At the end of the year there will be an audit, to make sure you were telling the truth about these reports. If you lie, or stretch the truth we will sell the company so it is in everyone's best interest to tell the truth." Charlie turned to look at her twin. "I know this isn't what you want—"

"I can manage for a year," Quinn stated, looking over at Dwight and pointing at him. "In a year there had better be more women executives, and more people of color." At the very least if the company was super successful, then they'd get a massive payout and they could put this behind them. Maybe Charlie wasn't being super impulsive.
