Bella, the Vanderbilt Vampire:

Recap: Bella's POV:"Yes," I said sucking in a deep breath, knowing what is about to happen. "Catch me please." I said as my eyes rolled back and I began to fall backwards.

Chapter 16: Pack

Bella's POV:

I blinked my eyes open and sat up. I could see the cackling fire and the crowd of super naturals that were circled around me. Thankfully they weren't too close. That would have been a sensory overload. My Edward was the only one within my personal bubble, holding my exhausted body. Edward was the only one not talking as well. Everyone else was talking a mile a minute.

"Shut up," I whispered as my head begin pounding. The silence was instantaneous.

"Do you need anything love?" Edward asked.

"Yes actually," I said. "Sam, can we go for a walk?" He nodded his head. I stood up and we started walking away from the group.

"What did you need to talk about Bella?"

"How was I able to do that for Billy? I didn't think I would actually gain crazy supernatural powers. I just thought it was a title like President or alpha."

"Yes, in the journal there are several new obstacles and gifts that this position will give you. And even Presidents and alphas have special abilities. With each high-ranking position in life there will be privileges bestowed upon the person in order for them to do their job. The blessing that has been given to you has also allowed for you to have abilities that can help you throughout your journey to restoring the unbalanced supernatural world."

"How do you know all of this?"

"There is a journal that has been passed down from our predecessors that contains the knowledge of the Venustus Eligitur Salvatoris. The spirits have conversed with several of our kind. They have given us this knowledge and in turn it was written down for future wolves so that we are aware of who the Venustus Eligitur Salvatoris is and how we can help her or you."

"Am I allowed to read this infamous journal or are only wolves allowed to read and write in it?"

"No, no. The journal was meant for you to utilize. I want you to read it and review all of the content the wolves have recorded for you. There is just one problem." Sam said worriedly.

"What's the problem Sam? Is the journal written in wolf code?" I joked.

"Ha ha Bella. The journal isn't coded. However, it is hidden."

"Why is it hidden?" I asked.

"The packs throughout the years never knew where you would travel to. So, it was decided to keep it in one place and travel back if needed. Whenever new information is discovered one wolf will go back and transcribe into the journal the new information. However, we felt it unsafe to carry the journal across the globe in case it was misplaced, left, or stolen. Protection and precaution are two fundamental principles we live by."

"They're good principles. And I don't blame you for having one place to keep the journal safe. But, where is it?"

"We keep it where this all began. It is hidden within the Biltmore Estate." Sam said.

"I would have never have thought to look for it there. Especially with it so heavily populated by tourists."

"That's exactly why it was chosen."

"But if the journal has been hidden there for years, how have you kept it secret? Before the tourism began surely someone living in the estate would have soon discovered the journal."

"You forget that the first protector worked for your family and knew of secret passageways that have been able to help our cause throughout these long years."

"Well, that sure is convenient." I said. "So, when can we go and retrieve the journal?"

"Whenever you are ready to tackle the responsibilities that come with the title of Venustus Eligitur Salvatoris. So, the real question is Bella, are you ready to bring peace to our world. Can you handle the power and judge other beings fairly. Because you will be the judge, jury, and executioner."

"You know what Sam?"

"What Bella?"

"I was born ready. I can handle this responsibility. Especially if I can help more people as I helped Billy tonight. So, let's go tell that lot over there that they need to get packing." It will also be nice to see my home once again.

"Alright boss. I'll race ya."

"You've got yourself a race. But there is no way that you can beat my speed."

"We'll just see, won't we? Now stop stalling."

"Fine. Go!" and we took off towards our group. Sam is pretty fast, I will give him that. But he's not faster than I am. Right now we are neck and neck. So I gave myself one more push and ran straight into Emmett. I made us both fall over as Sam came to a skidding stop right behind me. "Told you!" I shouted at Sam and began laughing.

"I went easy on you," he said and reached out a hand to help me up.

"Sure, you did." I said and took the offering. Then I pulled him down and quickly stood. Sam was caught unaware and landed face first into the sand. Everyone laughed with me this time. Sam's face made it even more hilarious because he had the sand on practically every line of his face.

"That wasn't very nice Bella." Sam said.

"Sorry, Sand Man." I said and he glared. Then he quickly picked me up and carried me off. I struggled and then he threw me. Why did he throw me? And as I felt the mist of the ocean water, I knew. I sunk down into the ocean. I swam back up and saw Sam laughing at me. The group laughed at my sopping appearance as I came out of the water as well. So I threw Leah into the water and tackled Rose into the sand. And thus begun the Vampire-e-Wolf war on the beach. Everyone looked out for themselves. By the time we all surrendered everyone was soaked and sand covered. But we are happy.

"Ok, everyone." Sam said. "Bella and I discussed something extremely important before we began goofing off."

"I want to be the best Venustus Eligitur Salvatoris. Therefore, we have made a huge decision. And I hope that you all are okay with it. I want to help and in order to do that I need to learn more about myself and what it means to be the Venustus Eligitur Salvatoris." I said.

"Sure sure. But what does that mean for us?" Jacob asked.

"It means that everyone who wants to go with Bella and myself need to start packing." Sam said.

"Because we are going to North Carolina! Sam told me about the journal located in the Biltmore Estate and I want to read it and discover what all I can do so that I know how I can help heal the discourse in the supernatural world. And I don't want you all to be forced to go. So I am leaving this as an open invitation. You can join me on my journey, go on your own journey across the globe, or stay settled here. I just know that I can't stay. I need to go and learn about these powers so I can help more people like I helped Billy."

"Bella, love, I don't think there is a person on this beach right now that wouldn't want to come with you. I know for certain that now that I have you back there is no way that I am letting you go." Edward said and pulled me into his arms. He ducked his head down to my level and gave me a quick, sweet kiss. I looked at everyone else and they all nodded in agreement with what Edward said.

"You have already done so much for our family Bella. You are a part of each of us. We would never leave you, unless you asked us to. We want to be there and support you on this journey and help you with becoming the Venustus Eligitur Salvatoris." Esme said.

"So, what are we waiting for people?! Let's get packing." Embry said.

"Woo! Road trip!" Seth said.

"I've heard that there are lots of Bears in that area. Maybe they can give me a real fight." Emmett said.

"Of course that is what attracts you." Rose said.

"That and your out-of-this-world body." Emmett countered and made a grab at Rose. She easily dodged.

"Keep it PG Emmett." Rose said.

"As long as it can be a solid R when I get you alone." He said and pulled her onto his lap.

"Whatever you big lug." Rose rolled her eyes and Emmett stole a kiss while she was distracted.

"That's settled. So now we just need a departure time." Jasper said.

"I would say that the sooner we depart the better off Bella will be, we don't want ti wait too long." Carlisle said.

"So why don't we leave in two days so that is enough time to pack and get ready for the trip." Edward said. "Is that alright love?"

"That is perfect." I said and hugged him.

"So you know what to do. I want the wolves to split. My pack will run patrol of La Push and Forks." Jacob said.

"My pack will go ahead and gather everything we will need in order to move." Sam said. "Then we will trade off and get some rest."

"Let's do this," Quill said.

After the decisions were finalized everyone got to work. The wolves took care of their property and made arrangements. The Cullens did the same. Everyone packed up their belongings. We decided to forgo riding in an airplane. It is too much temptation for the vampires and too much suffocation and risky for the wolves. So, we are going to road trip and basically travel like gypsies with our overly large caravan full of people. Currently, we are waiting at the border. The wolves have yet to arrive. What could be taking them so long? I don't want to rush them, I am more worried that we didn't plan enough time for them to get their affairs in order before we have to leave.

"Where are they?" Alice asked worriedly. It is understandable that she is worrying as well. She can't see the future when the wolves are concerned because they are immune to her gift. Jasper reasons it has something to do with them being our 'natural' enemies. It is like an unconscious trait that allows them to hunt their prey. On the other hand Carlisle has theorized that since Alice has only ever been a human and a vampire, those are the only beings she can see the future of. I believe both points are valid. However, it is unclear as to the reasoning why the wolves are Alice's blind spot.

"They should be here soon." I said.

"I just received a text from Sam. He said they are about three miles away." Edward said.

"Then it shouldn't be long," Rose said. Then we heard the thunder. The ground started to shake as the wolves came bounding toward our caravan. Most of the wolves were speeding on motorcycles. They looked like they were having fun racing each other. They skidded to a stop and then Sam's truck rolled in behind them. The bed was filled with luggage. The cab held an enthusiastic Emily and Sam. Sam jumped out of the truck and walked over to us.

"Sorry that we're a little late." He said.

"It's alright. Are you all ready?" I asked.

"Most definitely." He grinned. "Let's hit the road."

"Okay, but we will need to stop in Nebraska to hunt."

"That's fine. The pack will probably be ravenous by then too."

"Alright, see you on the road Sam." He nodded and got back in his truck and we got into our vehicles littered all over the road. Everyone started their engines and we began our journey across the United States.

(AN: Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't updated in over a year. Life happens and I got caught up in a lot of stuff. But I never stopped thinking about these stories. I haven't stopped writing, I've just slowed my typing down which sucks because I need to type more in order to get the new chapters to you all. Anyway, I hope you forgive me and you enjoy the updates! I don't own Twilight. And I hope to hear from you all.)
