Crocodile looked at his reflection in the water and clicked his tongue in annoyance. He was long-overdue a haircut as spending some time in a prison cell had him grow his hair longer than he usually has it as. He'd do it himself but cutting hair with one hand and the other for a hook can be quite difficult. Visiting a barber shop wouldn't be a very bright choice either.
Oh how easier life would be if he had someone to take care of his necessities like this. If he ever meets Nico Robin again he'd be sure to show some more appreciation for how much she had done for him. From cutting his hair to assassinating opponents, she was the vice-president of Baroque Works for a reason.
A valuable girl she was, that Nico Robin. Though quite useful, there were times she was just too much to handle because of her petty pranks and teasing she'd sometimes do to him. Honestly, she'd be dead already if she wasn't able to read poneglyphs.
That was what he reassured himself with. That he was only sparing her because of her abilities and nothing else. It was very much not the light atmosphere and comfortable presence he'd feel whenever he was around her. It was not because of the satisfaction he'd feel when she was around him and only him. The contentment he'd feel when he knows he'd be the only one that would catch the brief different expressions she'd make other than her apathetic smile. Of course that wasn't the reason.
…
Mr. 0 sighed in frustration as he slumped down on a chair in front of a mirror. Lately, the casino has been attracting more robbers than usual and he'd catch some of them trying to sneak around the halls. have to kill them off before they actually steal anything, which is quite an impossible feat. Even finding where all the money lay was a challenge for how large the building was. To his dissatisfaction though, every time he'd use his devil fruit powers, his carefully waxed hairstyle would somehow mess up as hair strands or even locks of hair would always fall in front of his face. Crocodile was a classy man, maybe even a perfectionist, he cared about his appearance and what others think of him. If he sees just even a hair strand fall out of place, it makes him feel quite irritated.
While he was reapplying wax on his hair, Robin had entered the room with a mischievous smile; a smile that Crocodile unfortunately didn't notice. "May I assist you Mr. 0?"
He hummed with approval, appreciating how "thoughtful" she was being. She glided towards him, almost even skipping, and started to gently massage his head.
Crocodile sighed with content as her slender fingers relaxingly rubbed his scalp. He closed his eyes and leaned towards her touch. Nico Robin always knew how to help him ease up his tense body.
He opened his eyes when he heard a few snickers coming from the woman behind him, curious to what she was laughing about, when he suddenly saw two aggravatingly large bright pink bows tied on each side of his head. In an instant, his face became bright red from embarrassment.
"ROBIN!" He called out, blood veins popping out of his forehead in anger.
Robin crouched down holding her stomach from the laughter she was not even attempting to cover up. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" She sarcastically said in between her giggling, tears threatening to spill out.
He angrily pulled off the childish ornaments out of his hair and quickly disintegrated it with his power. "You got some nerve!"
She broke down to even more sweet filled laughter as she saw his reaction. "But you looked so cute sir!"
"I'm starting to think you're getting too comfortable!"
"I'm sorry sir. Truly! I just can't resist cute things!" She gasped out, wiping a tear from her eye.
Crocodile scoffed from her answer. "Then I expect you to work extra hard tomorrow, especially since it seems like you can't resist me."
"Of course sir," she replied with a smile.
…
That wasn't the last of her pranks.
There was another time when they took a stroll out in the garden for a break. His mood being most favorable when he noticed she was securely wearing the coat and hat he gave her.
His spirit soon deteriorated when he caught on to the many people that were staring at them, especially at him. "What's up with this crowd?"
Again, he heard another chuckle coming out of the vice-president's lips. A noise all too familiar when she's scheming something.
He looked up when he noticed his head feeling a bit heavier than before and saw two arms sprouted on each side, making a gesture of a heart.
"NIC- Miss All Sunday!" Blood immediately swarmed up his cheeks as he quickly looked at Robin to make her stop.
As usual she broke down in laughter as she succeeded in her prank once again. Two girls who mistakenly thought he looked at them screamed with joy, ecstatic that a handsome man had noticed them.
He clicked his tongue and stormed off to his office.
…
Looking at his reflection from the water, Crocodile noticed he was cringing by the memory. That was what it was like to work with Nico Robin. For the past four years he had to endure her infuriating teasing and he really couldn't do anything about it. He wasn't used to being treated like that; like a person that wasn't feared. He had to admit he tried to come up with ways to get her back as revenge but she always seemed to have caught on, to his irritation. It was annoying to be with her- that woman, but it was also the most calming and enjoyable time.
He sighed as he attempted to smooth his hair back.
He better find her soon.
A/N: Wowow chapter 10! Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed. You may think that crocodile is a bit ooc here, but! I read some strips from the manga where Robin pranks Crocodile so I'm just guessing that she does it a lot. Basically, this chapter is really heavily inspired by that one manga strip because the prank and reaction is the same. There was also a frame that Oda drew where Crocodile was holding a umbrella for a puppy, which I for sure am going to put in this fanfic. This just shows that Crocodile isn't as serious or whatever as he seems to be and he do be having a kinda soft personality. bruh idk ok bye. Pls review
