After having a quiet dinner together, we all split around the house, deciding to spend some alone time with our respective partners. Without actually leaving the safety of the headquarters.

Tony and Pepper decided to go down to the lab and finish working on a few prototypes he had been working on. While Hawk and Nat left to take a short walk around the premises with little Charlie before putting him to bed.

Vision and Wanda sat in the large sitting room, while Pietro was left in the library trying to come up with a plan for the morning.

Steve and I decided to head to the gym to talk about a few things, so we wouldn't lose focus in the morning.

That is where the next morning found us.

After heading back to my room to shower and change into a pair of clean clothes. Just I pulled on my boots while looking down at the beautiful ring that my ring-finger now bore, seeming to glimmer under the soft light that shined through the window.

A knock resounded on my door, just as I finished pulling up the zippers.

Before I could say 'come in,' the door cracked open, and poked his head in through the opening.

"Hey, are you decent?" He asked, laughing as I threw a pillow at him, missing him by an inch.

"Of course, I'm decent, I am not Nat or you, I actually do go to sleep at night." I quipped as I stood up.

"Sleep? I wouldn't know what that is, since I haven't slept a wink since we got back home." He quipped back, before turning to look back at me, with concern. "Are you going to be alright to face him?" He asked as the bathroom door slammed open, causing us to jump.

"What the hell is he doing in here?" Clint asked, angrily.

"He was using the shower, Clint, calm your overprotective ass down." I snapped, smacking his chest lightly with my hand.

Steve rolled his eyes at Clint, before going to sit on the bed and slipping on his shoes, ignoring my brother's glare as he did so.

"Let's go eat something. We need to discuss a few things." Clint said, before pulling me out of the room.

I sighed in exasperation as I followed him towards the kitchen.

Everyone was already sitting at the table, engrossed in the news that played on the screen.

The number of missing people had scaled up within the last few weeks, why this was suddenly being mentioned seemed mysterious.

The cities around us were being ripped apart. Deaths were climbing higher and higher by the minute. In other words, it was chaos. Complete and utter mayhem had been unleashed, and it was all by them.

"It's them," I muttered through stiff lips.

I could feel as someone wrapped their arms around in a soothing manner.

"How long?" Clint asked quietly, as we watched the building begin to crumble under an invisible force.

I closed my eyes in concentration, "An hour." I replied, as my eyes popped open, as my legs suddenly grew weak. "They are arriving here, as soon as the rain begins to fall…" I muttered, feebly.

I felt as Steve rushed to my side, just as my legs lost their strength, and my knees buckled.

"Hey, it's okay. We're going to get through this." He whispered as he pulled me into his arms and took me towards one of the couches in the living room.

All three of them stared at me, worriedly, as I tried to not hyperventilate at the horrible images that I had seen.

It was Edward, and he looked pissed.

I knew that he would show up eventually, I just didn't think 'eventually' would come so soon.

As time began to wind down to the exact moment that would either kill us all or save us all, and I was worried for a moment. There are too many possible variables in a solid outcome, and I wasn't about to let something happen to get us all killed, we would succeed even if I had to pay the ultimate price for everyone else to live.

Of that, I was absolutely certain.
