Day: 1
Dear Diary.
It's been a long time huh...
Well, it's good to see you Diary. It's me, Sese. You know me, just a girl born and raised from a small yet surprisingly popular village of Moga. Last time we've met I was just a little girl, writing about how fun it was exploring the woods of Moga and getting in trouble from pretty much the entire village.. Well it's all in the past now.
I'm writing again because I'm beginning to follow my dream of being a hunter. A fair amount of influence was from my love exploring the woods, and my parents, who were both hunters now retired. But you know the biggest influence of my dream to be a hunter is? Oh of course you know. It was the true story of the legendary hunter that started as a rookie hunter and eventually saved the entire village from a threat of an elder dragon. Let's fast forward. I talked to my parents about a week ago about being a hunter. They were happy and were supportive about my choice and gave me some advice. Just a couple days ago I headed to port Tanzia to talk to the Guild Master about all this hunting business, where to start and what not. The guild master of Port Tanzia was a friendly old wyvernian and at the same time a little loopy. Maybe it was from all the ale that he drank, day in and day out.. Anyway, he suggested that I head over to the northern mountainous village of Bherna. It was a town filled with rich history and a very good place for a novice hunter like myself to start as well! So I told my parents, packed my things and headed back to Port Tanzia where I transferred from ships to air ship. I have to say... being born as a girl of the sea, I can take a ship that's sailing through the stormiest weathers.. But this whole air ship business... I felt like I was going to see my breakfast, lunch and dinner again... So... Bherna Village. It's a quaint little town, a lot bigger than Moga for sure since it's at a top of a mountain. It has a very Alp-sy... (Is that a word?) Well, it's very Alp-sy.. Oh speaking of a town being in a mountain. Me living all my life at a sea level, this was a whole new experience in height for me, the air was thinner and it was slightly difficult to breath, but I think I'll manage.. Up on arrival, I talked to the the chief of the Village. Burly man, much younger than the chief back home. We talked about the new hunter (that's me~) that was appointed by the Hunter's Guild to assist the Wycademy. So here I am fresh off the boat err... air ship and now I'm am official Wycademy Hunter. I talked to the many characters of the Village and they seemed very charming. They gave me a house to stay in (Which is where I'm writing right now.) Now being a new Hunter and that I spent pretty much all day trying to absorb as much Hunter 101 lessons as possible.. There were a lot.. from cooking steaks, delivering items, etc... I'm beat... but at the same time I feel happy that I went through with this and I am now here, in this new village and a brand new adventure.
And with that said. I'll see you tomorrow Diary.

Day: 2
Dear Diary.
It's been a whole day since I've arrived at the wonderful Bherna Village. The sleep was alright. Butterflies in my stomach, and the whole high altitude thing made it a slightly difficult for me to sleep but it wasn't too bad. I decided to take today to explore the village, learn and choose my weapon of choice as a hunter. I woke up early morning to talk to the locals. They all welcomed me to the village and gave me some advice and tidbits about the village. I also talked to the boss of the Wycademy as well. The man was tall, blond.. he had quite the charming face on hi.. Anyway.. He was a Wyvernian. He's my boss.. let's just leave it at that... My boss told me as a Wycademy Hunter, it was my job to be the muscle of the operation while the researcher researched. I also visited the Palico Ranch near the village and met the suuuuuper cute Meowstress. She's short, has a pair of Felyne ears (I think they're real.) and spoke in super cute rhymes. The Meowstress taught me a lot about Palicos (Basically a Felyne companion that more or less specializes in hunting by your side.), the cute meowstress even helped me scout my very first palico. I named him Manl (They're both so cute!). Lastly I visited the Hunter's Hub. This place was up north of the Bherna Village where other hunters around the world gather to hunt together. I talked to the folks at the Hub and even got myself registered as an official hunter! You know... Now that I think about it I probably could have gotten registered in Port Tanzia.. I guess I was too excited to go to a new village that I never really heard of. Lastly I went back to the village and took part in the weapon training lessons compliments of the Wycademy and the Hunter's Guild. There are fourteen weapons registered and recognized by the guild. I decided to use Seven. Using all fourteen would be too hard for me to manage... the weapon training were more or less simple enough for even a fledgling hunter like myself to understand. Pick a weapon, pick a style pit yourself against the Great Maccao, The Jumping Dog Wyvern. For today I decided to use all fourteen weapons use the Guild style. All fourteen weapons gave me a different experience fighting the Great Maccao. Before I go into the weapons themselves since I need to take like three more days to go over the other styles and make my choice, I'm going to write my feeling in the 'practice hunt.' I get the feeling that the Great Maccaos that I hunted were at a tip top shape. Being locked up in the arena, probably drugged up so a newbie hunter like me can take them on without too much threat.. The hunt itself was alright. The monster went down with relative ease, but once again, I'll write about the whole experience and choose my seven weapons when I'm done using the three different styles.. I'm a little tired but I'm glad that I went through all that today. I'll see you tomorrow Diary.

Day: 3
Dear Diary.
Before I tell you what I did today, I'm going to clear things up a little. My boss, the chief researcher is just my boss.. He just looks attractive that's all.. In fact, you know what? I think hes more dedicated to his job than seeking a relationship anyway! Right... It's my third day now here in Bherna Village and now I woke up with the strangest dream. There was some sort of tavern... Or an inn.. it had like maybe three floors? There was a man only wearing a pair of pants, a red cape and an oddly shape glasses that was a shade of orange. He was fighting a large unruly mob in what looked like a very very large head, made of what looked like, some sort of red metal? Odd dream aside, I woke up with a little surprise, two cute felynes in my room! Well one's my house keeper and the other is my Palico partner Manl (I guess I sort of forgot about him.) So I decided to continue doing what I was doing yesterday. I finished trying out the weapons in Guild style, the next on the list was the Striker Style. I have to say, the weapons in Striker style felt, different, it felt a bit more simpler. The only trouble that I had was maybe the insect glaive. The combination of the Great Maccao's rapid jumpy movement and the almost clunky movement (which is kind of ironic for the weapon) made things a little bit more difficult.. Other than that, there wasn't much trouble. By the time I finished my training it was getting pretty late. before I went back home I visited the Meowstress and found her humming a cute little jingle well.. Cute. Her little rhymey talk about felynes was super cute as well! Today I didn't have much to talk about but I sure got a lot done!
Tomorrow is another day where I get to try out all the weapons in another styles. I'll see you tomorrow Diary.

Day: 4
Dear Diary.
I didn't have an odd dream like yesterday, maybe I can't remember it.. It's the third day that I dedicated to get used to the weapons and styles, and this time its the Arial style. Now before I tell you how it went, I know you have some question for me Diary. What makes these hunter style, Hunter styles? Who's to say that I can't choose a striker style and move like a guild style? Well my dear Diary to my knowledge, these styles and Hunter art was a collaborative effort from the Hunter's Guild, Dragon watch research team, the Wycademy and the Hunters themselves. For a while the said groups brain stormed and researched the most optimal techniques for each style, making them distinctive and varied. Same goes with the Hunter's art, but that's with more spiritual and technological influences.
Anyway, Arial style. Holy Poogie.. This is the most fun and slightly frustrating experience that I've had with the fourteen weapons. Hopping on the Great Maccao's head and bringing death from above, it was almost cathartic. After I've finished my little training session, I had an odd thought.. What do you think the other hunters think when they hunt and swing their weapons around? Do you think they hunt for their own enjoyment? Do you think they hunt with a believe that they're making a difference? Do you think hunters hunt because they hate monsters? I mean... We are killing these creatures that live and breath like us... I mean sure, they do have some annoyance and some are a threat to our lives.. But they do that for their own survival.. Right? Monsters hunt and defend their own territory so they can live.. and... I don't know... Maybe I'm just making things too complicated for myself.. Hey Diary... Do you think it's wrong for me to feel joy hunting.. and killing these monsters? I.. I think I need some time to think about this.. Maybe I'll sleep on it.. Always yours.

Day: 5
Dear Diary.
Remember that little thing that I mentioned yesterday? That thing about monsters, and our emotions during hunts.. When we hack and bash away at the monsters. Well... I have to say.. I might need to think about it a little longer.. I just don't know what to think about the whole thought.. Anyway, this morning reading up on the monster logs and data that the Chief researcher gave me. As a Wycademy's Hunter, I apparently need to read up on these little logs on monsters. Personally I'm not a huge fan of reading. I'd rather go out to the field and see these monsters first hand, but a job description is there for a reason I guess. After my little read I started my final weapon practice. The final style is something called the Adept Style. Hunters are only allowed to use one Hunting art... I forgot to go over this with you huh.. Each Hunting style allows different amount of Hunter's art. Guild Style allows Hunters to choose up to two hunter's art, Striker Style allows a whopping three, Arial and Adept Style only allows one. I think it's pretty fair. Now going back to the Adept style itself. It's probably the most technical style that I tried compared to the other styles. Adept style focuses on evade or block and counter with your own attack. I've spent the majority of the day trying this style out and when I was finished I was pretty exhausted. I got back to my room and finally chose my Seven weapons. Long Sword, Dual Blades, Hammer, Gun Lance, Insect Glaive, Light Bow Gun, and Bow. Here's my reason why. Compared to the Great Sword, the long sword's smooth flow of slashes made it pretty much set for me to choose that weapon... also the Legendary Hunter used that weapon to save the Moga Village.. I chose the Dual Blades over Sword and Shield because.. Well.. The Arial and Adept style was just so much exhilarating.. I mean sure, Sword and Shield's utility and versatility is nice, but the feeling of air rushing around me when I twirl around the monster, cutting them into ribbons.. There's no other substitute. I chose the Hammer over the Hunting Horn for a couple reasons. I liked the simplicity of the Hammer compared to the Hunting Horn. I also liked the fact that it's easier to knock out a monster with the Hammer compared to the Hunting Horn. Hunting Horn can K.O. a monster too but it's easier to do with a hammer.. So yea... Moving on. I chose the Gun Lance over the Lance.. I know it's a little hypocritical of me for choosing a much more complicated Gun Lance over the simple Lance, but hear me out would you Diary? Sure Lance it more mobile than the Gun Lance.. Sure the there's a simplicity factor for the Lance, but there's no replacing this almost cathartic feeling of thrusting at the monster vigorously and end with a explosive fina- I just like the big explosion that the Gun Lance can provide alright? I chose the Insect Glaive over the Charge Blade and the Switch Axe because I found the Kinsect companion cute. Also hopping all over the place was fun too! The Charge Blade and the Switch Axe is pretty complicated.. Maintenance looks like a pain in the butt too, with all those moving gears and parts and what not.
Finally I chose the Light Bow Gun and the Bow over the Heavy Bow Gun. Sure the Heavy Bow Gun packs a punch, but it's cumbersome and sort of sluggish to carry around. With that all chosen and what not, I finished reading the rest of the Monster logs before I started writing this. Tomorrow is when I officially start my Career as a Hunter! I can't wait! A good day and a good night Diary.

Day: 6
MEOW HAHA! LEAVING SUCH A VALMEOWABLE PAPER SUCH AS THIS!
THIS ISN'T MEOWSTER SESE! IT'S ME! TUNA! MEOWSTER'S FAITHFUL PURROWLER PALICO! well.. a fresh off the boat felyne who was lucky to be chosen... while meowster was away I took the lipurrty to learn the true ways of the purrowler. Meow have to admit.. It was a lot more diffurcult than I thought, but I won't let meowster down! So... This is a thing.. I leave Diary on my bed for like a couple hours and a sneaky little felyne writes all over it. That's kind of cute. I think I'll let him write more, but I'll talk to Tuna and set some rules first. Dear Diary. So other than my sneaky new prowler writing a preemptive log, here's what I did today, but you know what? Let's back track. There's something that I didn't tell you Diary. I haven't been eating the Bherna's food for six whole days. I packed some food from home and been rationing them. I don't have anything against the food from Bherna, and to be honest.. I'm just a little scared. They just don't have the same food from back home.. They they have a lot of what they called cheese? I'm running low on my food that I brought. How long would I last? Now finally moving along. I decided to change my weapons every time I went on a different quest. I took the whole day to finish the one star quests, which was pretty much all sorts of gathering quests from different villagers, even the meowstress. It felt pretty good, actually venturing around the Jurassic Frontier. Using my own weapons felt good too! Eventually the chief called me up for an urgent quest. Turns out that a Great Maccao was running amok in the Jurassic Frontier, slowing down the research for the Wycademy team. I knew it was my time to really shine. I brought my trusty long sword and headed there. I gotta tell you Diary, I expected this quest to be beyond easy.. but boy was I wrong.. I was right about the Great Maccaos in the arena purposefully weakened for rookie hunters to have no trouble.. This was the real deal. Getting hit by one of the Great' Maccao's jumping lunge felt thrice as much as the ones in the arena... It was to a point where I even fainted once as well.. So this was the reality of a Hunter.. It was no fun and games... I think I need to take my time on gathering materials for my hunts... Well after that hunt I returned to the Chief of the village and my boss congratulating me on taking care of the great maccao. With that I was able to take on the two star quests. AND I got clearance to visit other villages! except Moga.. I think I might need to make special arrangements for that.. Today was a good day. I learned that I still have much to learn and I should prepare myself.
Thanks for listening to me as always Diary.

Day: 7
Dear Diary.
It's been a whole week since I've arrived at Bherna. I ran out of my personal food.. So... took a leap of faith and tried the food there. The result was... Surprisingly delightful. Purr-prietress's cooking skills were quite impressive too! My only gripe was that they used a lot of cheese sauce for all their meals... I mean it's not bad, but moderation would have been nice.. After that pleasant meal, I talked to the villagers and the chief of research. He gave me more books to read on the latest monster discovery... I took my time and skimmed over the materials. Around noon I started to do some of the quests as well. The Bherna Gal showed me the list of quest.. Boy were there many.. probably double the one star quests, but most of them were just simple delivery quests and slay quests which was just taking out a group of monsters. Easy peasy. Oh there's one more thing that I forgot to mention. I'm not writing this from Bherna.. I'm actually writing this from the Kotoko village. As you know from yesterday, I got the clearence to visit other villages (still not moga..) and I decided to take it one town per day. Today was Kotoko, I talked to most of the villagers there and they all seemed nice minus two mean hunters. The chief was a little mean too but I'm sure he was just having a bad day. Tomorrow I'll take quests from the Kotoko village! I can't wait!
I'll see you tomorrow Diary.
