Day: 29
Dear Diary.
I woke up early today to get pack my things to travel to Pokke, village. And so I did.
On arrival, I quickly unpacked and talked to the chief. I had a though this was going to be a thing, and I was right the monster that I've seen before came back and now is at a collision course with the village. Now if I remember correctly the monster that I saw in the arctic ridge was the Gammoth. The Chief of Pokke confirmed that it was indeed the super large fanged beast.
I decided to take my dual blades and aerial style for this hunt. After all, I might as well capitalize the mobility of the weapon right?
Boy was I mistaken.. I mean sure it was exhilarating for me to hop around the massive monster and cut it into ribbons.. but it used its large trunk to suck in, blast and swing at me which brought nothing but pain.
In the end though, I did finish the hunt with a single faint.
Once I returned to the village I got a huge praise along the community of Pokke Village for saving the village, and that strange but pleasurable feeling of being praised. I still don't feel like I've done much, sure the Gammoth would have done a lot of damage to the village, but it was no elder dragon.. The Chief was sure surprised and happy though.
Today was a pretty short day. I'll be waking up early to depart for Yukumo Village!
I'll see you tomorrow Diary.

Day: 30
Dear Diary.
Another day, another travel to another village. This time it was the Yukumo Village.
Arriving to the hotspring central, I kind of had an idea of what I was up against Mizutsune. The Bubble Fox Wyvern. Talking to the Chief of the village, I got the information that the same Mizutsune that I've first seen during my Bulldrome hunt was back in the Misty Peaks. Now normally, this leviathan type monster wouldn't be much of a threat, but river fishermen that steps into its territory, would get a clean whollop!
I decided to take my hammer out for a spin with the Adept style. The hunt itself was.. Difficult. From taking down the slow and powerful Gammoth, the Mizutsune on the other hand, was a lot more swifter, and a lot more bubbly.. getting hit by one of these bubbles had a very strange experience. It felt awfully cathartic at the same time it hurt. Those massive foam bubbles getting in my eyes hurt. All in all, the hunt wasn't so bad. Refreshing at the same time, challenging.
Returning to the village I had a small thought. The Ludroth Armor has been doing a good job at keeping me alive, but it would be nice to get some new armor.
When I returned to the village, I was showered with praise by the villagers. Even the Chief praised me!
But yeah, thinking about the last three major hunts, I feel like two of those monsters would make a nice armor set!
Tomorrow I'll start hunting monsters down, but until then..

Day: 31
Dear Diary.
Well, I returned to Pokke village to hunt down and err... Hunt Gammoths to make her armor set. Oh? Did I just say her? You've heard.. read? Correct my dear diary. Before I've taken the entire day to grab me some sweet and, admittedly kind of gross Gammoth carves... (Hunting is exciting and all, but when it comes to the nitty gritty of carving monster parts, it's taxing and sort of.. icky... the sensation of the carving knife plunging into the flesh, hides, scales of the monsters... Ugh..) I've taken the liberty of reading up on the monster that I was up against. Turns out that most if not all of the Gammoths that people encounter are female. The dark blue, and red tinged coloration is a sure give away that the Gammoth is indeed a lady. So I had a though, where are all the male Gammoths? Apparently the male Gammoths are smaller in comparisons and have a much duller brown coloration, and are more docile than the nomadic and fierce female counterpart. Now to the hunt itself? Well..
I've spent my entire day taking down ten Gammoths (eight slain and two captured), and let me tell you a thing about this monster.. She may be large and somewhat slow, but when it comes to her angry and pivoting at the same time, it was like ten red flags going up to stay away. With each weapon I struggled to find openings and land a hit. For the most part I've used Aerial style to take the monster on, capitalizing on her slow mobility (for the most part anyway.) For the most part the hunt went alright. Alright until I hit the monster enough to make her angry, then things got really intense.. What I've noticed about Gammoths is her long trunks. Sure she utilizes her body to slam gounds.. And me, but for the most part, she uses her trunk to do everything, spit out balls of ice, pick massive snow chunks out of the ground to hurl at me or my palicos, Suck in or blow me out, slam down the trunk (which is a good time to point out that the end of the trunk has sharp spines... ouch..) and lastly, she had a knack of covering her body and mostly legs in snow with her trunk. When her limbs get covered up it was a lot more difficult for me to cut through the snow then the flesh shelled leg of the Gammoths. I've had to make different approaches with different weapons, and they were all difficult.. My armor mostly being made out of hardened sponges of a Royal Ludroth didn't really help much when a Gammoth crushed me under her large foot (Which reminds me that I was fighting in the tippy top of the arctic ridge... The cold might have been a thing even with my armor being more or less an over-sized coat disguised as an armor, the semi soft snow really help dampen the blows of the Gammoths.. It still hurt a lot though. I'm actually surprised that I came out without any broken bones.)
Things got even more difficult when I had to actually capture the monster. Even doing it twice was hard. Now I'm sure what you're wondering Diary, why capture a monster when I can slay and carve right? Well some carves are a bit more difficult for a rookie hunter, or any hunter for that matter to pull off so capturing and sending it to the guild and the village made it a collaborative effort that was worth while I decided to use my Light Bow gun and Bow for captures. It was hard... very hard... I needed to know when the monster was ready for capture. If it had any amount of vitality, it would shrug off the tranq-bombs and use up my traps. On top of that I was using my gunner sets which meant my armor was naturally weaker than the blade master armors. I had to make perfect shots to make all my ammo and coating count. I missed a lot of shots... The hunt using the bow was pretty hard too.. forgetting to utilize Hunter's Art is pretty brutal for a rookie hunter like me, but some how.. I pulled it off.
By the end of the day I was exhausted, but I managed to make the Armor set. It was super warm and somehow, roomy and cosy at the same time! I'm going back to Yukumo village to take down the Mizutsune and take a nice foot bath at the village.
Until then,
-Sese.

Day: 32
Dear Diary.
I headed back to Yukumo Village today to hunt down a lot of Mizutsune.
Actually compared to the number of Gammoths that I hunted for her armor, I hunted a lot less Mizutsune to complete the gunner set.
Once again I took the liberty of reading up on the monster. Apparently, Mizutsune are the opposites of Gammths when it comes to Gender. All the Male Mizutsune are flashy and has all the pretty colors where the females are smaller, more docile and has duller colors. Who would have thought boys can be pretty?
The hunts were also a polar opposite to the Gammoth as well. While the giant fanged beast was slow and steady, this slippery Leviathan makes all of its uses in movement. Oh. Also bubbles and foams.. Plenty of those too.. You know, for a monster much smaller than something like a gammoth, it sure hits just as hard as one.. It's constant moving around, spreading foams on the ground which made the roughest graveled ground to a slippery mess made things very hard for me to keep up with the monster.
It wasn't all bad though. Because the monster was more flesh and scales than tough, thick fur and snowed up scales; all the heavy blows that I delivered made much more impact. On top of that its constant movement tired-ed the monster out much quicker. Something else that I've noticed. It can sort of change its fur colors based on it's.. well.. emotion? Normally it has a mixed shades of pink yellow and beige, but when it's most of its fur turns red, when it's tired the red becomes blue. On top of it's mobility and slipperiness, it can blast a super pressurized water jet.
All jokes aside, I never felt so clean in my life, oh pain is also a thing.
By the time I made my armor set, I hunted five Mizutsunes.
With these two armor sets I guess I can return to Bherna Village to continue help the Wycademy with their research and stuff.
Well, I'll see you tomorrow Diary.
-Sese.

Day: 33
Dear Diary.
I'm back in Bherna Village again. I guess I could say it's good to be back.
But laying on the soft moofah fur bed, didn't really feel.. Comfy.. There's something that I haven't really told you Diary. You see, ever since I've went on a quest on Deserted island.. Or Moga Woods, I felt pretty home sick.. Every quest that I've went to that was in Moga woods.. felt at home, but leaving the Base camp and seeing that massive wall blocking the village.. It was profoundly saddening.. I've almost forgotten about these home sick feelings when I was in a hunter's high in some quests.. but returning to the Bherna village got me remembering, that I this was where I started my career, and before that I was back home..
I tried to shake this feeling by going on some quests... It didn't help when the major big hunt was in Moga Woods... Before that, I'm going to quickly tell you that I also hunted a Volvidon on the Jurassic Frontier. A fanged beast similar to a Lagombi, or an Azuros. It was big, red and loved to roll around. Not a problem for my bow and my newly made Mizutsune Armor set.
Alright.. Now to the Major hunt... It was up against the Lagiacrus. The Lord of the Sea, in Moga Woods.. I brought my Gunlance for this hunt and surprisingly enough I took it down with minor trouble with major pain. I still feel my body jitter from its electric shock.. You know, Now that I think about it, I think the Lagiacrus is like a far more intimidating land based version of the Khezu (Khezu is more frightening in another sense but that's a story for another time..)
Anyway... I've been doing a lot of travelling as a hunter.. and I think it's time for me to go back home.. WAIT, its not like I'm quitting being a hunter! I'm going on a quick vacation back home..
I'll be leaving you here in Bherna though, I think Tuna would like to write his own adventure in Bherna.
I'll see you when I come back My dear Diary.
-Sese.

Tuna's Meowery - 1/34
Dear Meowery.
I am writing this in meowster's stead.
While Meowster was busy hunting meownster, I've been stationed in Palico Ranch in Bhernya village, overseeing all the other palicos. I've taken a strict regime on training trading and sending them off to gather meowterials for meowsters and themselves. In the mean time I've been purrsonally going out on solo quests to gather and hunt monsters of all sizes. of course, I'm not strong enough to hunt a very threatening meownster yet, but I feel like I'm getting close and getting stronger every day.
There isn't much else to repurrt but, I guess I can do a little more detailed entry like my meowster does with her meowery.
I'll start that tommorow.
-Tuna.

Tuna's Meowery - 2/35
Dear Meowery.
During my clawmmand of the other Palicos. I have taken a younger Palico under my paw. His name is Salm. An offensive Felyne like myself. I've been putting him in intense training, and cat naps.
I've even taken him out as a suppurrting Palicos on my hunts. The young felyne is eager but still very Naive. He often gets surrounded by small meownsters and gets stuck fighting them off while Bana, the other Palico and I were off fighting the large meownster. Speaking of Meownsters, Bana, Salm and I were off fighting a several Volvidons. It's clawnstant rolling and tougne lashes were a very good way to keep us on our toes.
Even Salm managed to smarten up and focus on the main hunt!
I see and expect great things from Salm and his growth.
-Tuna.
