Day: 85
Dear Diary.
What was with today.. Seriously..
I guess I learned that cutting off Glavenus' Tail would be a lot harder than it was going to be.. On top of the monster being a very large and tall monster, the tail itself is like an over sized sword. Have you tried to cut a sword in two with a sword? It's hard. When it sharpens the tail it hardens up and it bounces my weapons off.. Oh.. and have you tried to cut a sword in that's also tried to cut you too? Seriously it's hard..
I'm going to need to make a sound strategy to cut the tail off..

Day: 86 87
Dear Diary. Im sure youre wondering where I was?
Well Yesterday morning I was going to go on another Glavenus Hunt, but I got a letter from my old child hood friend. She was apparently going to be a merchant in the town of Val Habar. Well It's considered a town but its more like a guild operated super large Caravan filled with markets and hunters alike.
I had to beg the Chief researcher to use the airship to get to Val Habar...
The Town was stationed between a desert and an ocean, and I spent the entire day there talking and exploring the town with my friend. She even helped me change my hear style too. I've always had what I like to call the Twin bun knots. But my friend helped me change that into something a but more manageable.
Now today, I've hunted three Glavenus. I've tried a couple different techniques but only one worked.. First was using the trusty sleep bomb technique.. Turns out that using high explosives will NOT sever monster tails.. Second was using the Dual blades and the aerial style. Mount, topple and to got the tail. It worked for a while but the monster died before I can cut tail off.. Last was with a long sword. This one actually worked. Utilizing the long blade length I managed to focus most of my strikes on the tail and Boom! off it went.
I need two more tails. Now I'm sure you're wondering. Why can't I just slay the monster and then carve off the tail from it's corpse? I was wondering that too, and asked the Guild master in the Hunter's Hub. According to her it's the tradition of the Hunters and it's extremely difficult to carve an entire tail off a monster. Even if I managed to do so, the quality of the tail from me hacking away would really reduce the quality of the materials. so carving a freshly severed tail is the best and the only way to get the material.
Sorry about the disappearance from yesterday.. I'll try to tell you in advance my dear Diary..

Day: 88
Dear Diary.
It's one of those days.. Not a lot of tail cutting.. Glavenus just died too quickly...
Oh also I had to take the other half of the day patching my armor up... Seriously that sword tail is razor sharp!
I'm going to take it a littler easier and go on some gathering quests tomorrow.

Day: 89
Dear Diary.
Well, it took me no trouble but I some how managed to sever the Glavenus tail twice. enough to make the rest of the weapons.
When I got back to the village to get my weapons upgraded, the chief told me that the White Brute. The Kirin has returned to the arctic ridge. It's been a long time coming, but I think I'm ready.
I'll be heading to the Ridge tomorrow to take the not so dragon looking Elder Dragon.

Day: 90
Dear Diary.
One day, one hunt and that was it.
I prepared everything that I needed for the hunt against the Elder Dragon Kririn. The White phantom. I've taken this monster on a long time ago, but now I felt that I was ready. Also I didn't have much choice. I decided to take the Hammer out for this hunt along with other helpful Items like high explosives. Last time I fought this monster I had the bow. The weapon has it's fluid elegance, but the Hammer just has a bit more oomph to it. During the hunt the Kirin managed to take me out once.. I didn't expect a lightning to strike twice in the same spot... It's strange I've hunted several monsters that wield the power of lightning but they all uses it differently.. Astalos uses it almost like a weapon, a lightning blade, a beam and so forth. Zinogre uses it to grow power, and when its charged up it unleashes all of it in a flurry of strikes. Khezu uses it to hunt prey by paralyzing and stopping preys in its tracks. Lagiacrus uses it in almost a utility-ish sort of way.. But the Kirin.. It's like its the essence of lightning.. Everything it does has almost this chilling beauty about it..
Oh also the Kirin has the power to use lightning as a defensive option too.. I mean the Khezu and the Lagiacrus has something like that but have you ever tried to hit something that wears lightning as armor? I'm surprised that I survive the swing.. Each swing I threw at the monster I just bounced off.. But as nimble and defensive as Kirin was, it had one weakness. The Thunder Armor only protected the body and not the head, and I managed to take nice swings at the head which stunned the monster which also opened for more swings to the head. Also this Elder Dragon was no Shararu Magala. It's small size for a Dragon proved it's frailty. Two well placed Large Barrel bomb plus to the head and a ton of swings later. I finally defeated the Elder Dragon. When I got back though.. I the chief had another message for me. The Fated four in a place called.. The Tower. How? I don't know.. Will I hunt them? I... I'm not sure.. It's almost eerie that all four of the monsters that was a village threat coming to one place? I mean what's up with that? Also the fact that they're at a top of a tower means that they can't be much of a threat right? ... Right?
I'll have to sleep on this..

Day: 91
Dear Diary.
So, I know you're wondering why I'm writing this in the morning.
I passed out... BUT I'll tell you what I was doing yesterday! So After taking the Kirin Down and the Fated four Looming sort of over in the distance. I decided to take a break and try something new.
Arena quests!
So heres what I've learned Arena quests are a guild ran quests that happen in the arena.. makes sense right? Well there are very specific runs that the Guild has set to make things different. First is that I don't choose the armor, weapons, Hunting Style or arts.. The guild chooses that for me. The arena is also just two area, prep area and the actual arena, and its a one way street unless I have a farcaster handy. Oh that's another thing. No items either, they're provided by the guild. The rewards are also slightly lower than most quests, but it's worth it since we get NINE tries! instead of three! Lastly there are not much to carve... I tried to carve a Melfestio and some how got a potion..
I spent the entire day in the arena and I'm beat.. No hunting for me today.. I'll write what I've done tomorrow.
