Mozzie paced outside the hospital entrance. He was trying to muster up the courage to go inside. He took one final deep and walked through the automatic doors. He followed Peter's directions and quickly found Neal's room. Mozzie took his place next to Neal's bed and pulled his current book out of his bag. Mozzie found it hard to focus on his book, with the constant beeping of the heart monitor and the buzzing of the hospital outside of the room. Mozzie nearly jumped when the door opened, and a Doctor walked in. Mozzie stood and watched the doctor.
"Hello, I'd Dr. Young, I'm going to be taking over care on Neal." He opened Neal's chart and studied it for a minute. "It looks like Neal had a very good night last night. His vitals all look good. I just going to check his stitches." Mozzie turned has back as the doctor pulled the blankets back and lifted Neal's hospital gown. "Everything looks good." Mozzie turned back around and met the doctor's eyes.
"When will he wake up?"
"Well that depends on him. Sleep is the best way for his body to heal. We only have him on some pain medication, so he we will wake up when his body is ready. There is nothing to worry about. He's doing fine, his stitches look good and I'm liking all of his vitals. If I had to guess, he should wake for a little sometime today." Mozzie thanked the doctor and pulled out his phone to call El.
Peter stepped out of the shower and dried off, he felt more awake and more put together. He dressed quickly and headed downstairs to his wife. He could hear her on the phone.
"Thanks for the update. I'll let Peter know." El hung up the phone and went back to cutting up the vegetables in front of her. Peter entered the kitchen and gave her a kiss. "Mozzie called." Peter's heart froze in fear for a second, thinking of the worse case scenario. El could see the fear in her husband's eyes. "It's good news Hun, Neal's doctor said that he is doing great and he should be waking up soon."
"That's great news." Peter smiled back at El.
Mozzie paced back and forth at the foot of Neal's hospital bed. Mozzie was not good at being patient. He caught a glimpse of movement from the bed and stopped. He glanced and Neal and his eyes meet Neal's.
