I was running late to class so I quickly changed my pants Infront of the girls in my room by accident and ran out of my room to class. When I got to class I saw Mr. Oobleck looking at me, tapping his foot against the floor. "You're late, Ethan." Oobleck said in a dark tone.

"Im sorry Mr. Oobleck, I was just taking a nap and I guess I overslept." I said while trying to catch my breath. "Just take a seat next to Ruby Rose." He said while picking up a book from his desk. I took my seat next to Ruby and looked at .

"Okay everyone, today we have a new student, and to see if he is worthy of staying at beacon he will have to fight this beowolf, Ethan please come down here." I looked at the cage that the beowolf was in and I was too angry to move. "Ethan, come down here now." He said more forceful.

I grabbed my katana and started walking towards the cage. When the cage open, the beowolf jumped out and was looking at me with its red eyes. I ripped my shirt off to reveal the scar on my back. Everyones eyes were focused on what they are looking at. They weren't looking at the beowolf but at my scar.

I got into a boxing stance, eyes focused, legs bent. The Beowulf snarled and stared into my eyes. I was sure it could smell my anger, my fear. I could see its muscles tense up. It jumped, its mouth open, teeth ready to tear into me. For a moment I was back at Krishi village. I was holding my mother. Her dead eyes staring at me.

"Ethan! You can do this!"

Ruby's shout brought me back to the present. I sidestepped and let out a quick jab with my left hand. The grimm tumbled over itself, but instead of pressing the advantage, I held back. My muscles were tight with anger. The punch should have been harder! Whatever, next time I would get it. The beowulf jumped again and I tried for another sidestep. The beowulf threw out its paw and made a slash. It caught me full in the chest and launched me off of my feet. I bounced and tumbled a couple times and landed on my back.

I was an idiot! Of course the beowulf would expect the same move!

I rolled over and onto my feet, narrowly dodging a smash. It let out another slash once again sweeping me off of my feet. This time I was able to land in a crouch, my sword ready to be unsheathed. The beowulf leaped at me as I drew my sword. I forgot all the style and grace I had practiced and threw out the most powerful swing I could manage. Crimson blade cleaved through flesh and bone, carving beowulf's skull in two. Unfortunately for me, the momentum and weight of the grimm kept it flying, eventually hitting its intended target, me. As the beowulf dissolved into smoke, I finally let out a breath that I didn't realize I was holding.

Well, that fight didn't go so bad.

"That was fight bad."

I glared at Wiess while Ruby helped hold an icepack to my side. We were in my room discussing my fight.

"Oh really, think you could have done better?"

"Undoubtedly."

"Oh wow, look at me. I'm Weiss and I use big words so I must be much smarter than everyone else." I mocked.

"Tough luck, but I am much smarter than everyone else."
