Portia opened her dark green eyes and stared up in a ceiling she didn't recognize. Her eyes wandered down the unknown wall. She turned her head and stared at a glass door. The room was small and it had nothing in there but the bed she was lying on.

She sat up confused and tried remembering what had happened. Her mind was foggy and she started shaking when she realized the last thing she remembered clearly. Her ex Seth suddenly standing in her apartment.

Tears fell from her eyes. She bowed her head forward. Her long, light brown hair fell forward. It was a matted mess as if she had been drunk, in a fight or had a night of hot passion without using a hairbrush afterwards to fix it.

Her hair was the least of her problems in that moment though. The unknown room with a glass door was a bigger problem, but that wasn't what kept her attention either. Her wrists were bandaged. She pulled the bandage down on her left wrist and saw the deep cut that had been stitched together.

"Leave it," a voice said.

She snapped her head up fast and stared at an unknown man who had entered through the glass door.

"Hi, Portia. My name is Sami Zayn. I work here," he said.
"Where am I?" She asked.
"Do you remember anything from last night? You had a mental breakdown. You were trying to kill yourself while screaming about being reborn as the new Messiah. We had to involuntary commit you," he said.
"I'm in an asylum?" She asked. "Which one?"
"Green Valley Asylum," he answered.

She pressed her lips together in a thin line. It all made sense now. Seth being in her apartment and her mysteriously waking up in the asylum he worked at. Not to mention that she would never have tried to kill herself. This was Seth's doing. She didn't know how, but she knew why. He had sworn he wouldn't let her get away. She still left him though, and this was the only way he could make sure to keep her locked up where he could be close to her.

"Who committed me?" She asked.
"That was your boyfriend Seth. You're lucky you have a man like that who knew what to do. From what he told us, you've been having these ideas in your head for a while. It all culminated last night. You tried attacking him with a knife before cutting your own wrists. Don't worry. You're in safe hands here," he smiled warmly. "We'll have you up and running in no time. Some therapy, maybe some medication. We'll see. Once you're ready, we'll let you go home with Seth again."

She stared at him but didn't say a word. She had no idea how far of a reach Seth had. For all she knew, everyone working at the asylum could be in on helping Seth. Sami could be a strong ally to Seth. It was best to keep quiet for now. He cleared his throat and tried with another smile.

"You gotta stay here for a little bit longer. This is the suicide watch. Someone will bring you something to eat soon," he said.

She nodded and he turned around and left the room. He locked the glass door and walked away. She looked up at the camera above the glass door. She had a feeling Seth was watching. She refused to give him the satisfaction of breaking down. She pushed herself back to sit up against the wall and just stared at the camera. For now she would have to bide her time and figure out how to get through this.
