Portia didn't know how much time had passed since Sami left. Not long though. Seth suddenly stood on the other side of the glass door. His cold, cruel eyes were watching her for a few seconds before unlocking the door and walking inside.

"Hi, Portia," he said. "I brought you breakfast."

He walked over to the bed and sat down next to her. She tried moving away from him but he grabbed her upper arm to keep her seated before placing the tray with breakfast on her lap.

"Easy, babe. There's cameras in here. Don't do anything stupid," he said.

He was trying to put it on her but she knew what he meant. He wasn't going to hurt her on camera which meant that at least not everyone working in this place was on his side.

"What did you do to me?" She asked.
"What needed to be done," he answered. "I told you that you weren't allowed to leave me. You should have listened. I didn't want it to come to this. Look what you fucking did to me. Bringing me to my knees, stripping me of my pride, and still I can't stay away from you. Like a moth drawn to a flame."

It was best to try and stay on his good side for now. He had the upper hand. She needed to feed him some sugar in order to get something back.

"I'm sorry, Seth," she said. "My head is foggy and I don't remember anything. What happened last night since I'm here? What did I do?"
"Oh, babe," he smirked. "I came to see you. You were throwing a tantrum about wanting me to leave. I couldn't. I knew you were playing it up because you were surprised to see me. We belong together, and deep inside you know it too. You just need a push to see it."
"You're right. We were just moving so fast," she said.

She moved her hand to his and took it.

"You scared me, Seth. When I tried telling you we were going too fast, you got angry, and it scared me. I'm still scared. I don't like it when you're angry," she said.
"Stop making me angry then," he said.
"I'll try," she said. "Can you at least tell me what happened last night? I'm so confused. I need to know what I did wrong."
"Like I said, you threw a tantrum. You tried leaving, and then you tried fighting me. I had to drug you to keep you calm. It was a hallucinogen so you didn't have a clue what was going on around you. I had to teach you a lesson so I slit your wrists and staged the apartment to make it look like you did it on your own. I kicked in your bathroom door. I came out as the savior," he grinned. "I'm a fucking hero, babe. In here you are nothing. You better learn to behave."

She nodded. It was enough for him for now. What he didn't know was that he had also given her some information she needed in that moment. The camera didn't record sound. He wouldn't have confessed like that while being filmed otherwise.

"Finish your breakfast," he said. "Afterwards we can go upstairs to the other patients. I got a room for you ready up there. A bit of human contact will do you good."
"Can I go already? Sami said I was on suicide watch," she said.
"Sami's a braindead idiot," he said. "I can pull some strings. Like I said, I'm a fucking hero. Right now they'll listen to me. If I say you're ready, they'll allow it."

She nodded again and picked up a piece of toast. From what she could understand so far, he was working alone. She couldn't be completely sure, but at least Sami wasn't in on it. She needed to get upstairs and see what she was battling against in this place. Seth still had the upper hand, and it was best to play by his rules right now.
