The short drive home was a silent one. The normal Friday night traffic wouldn't start for another hour. They arrived at the two-story home in fifteen minutes.
She shut the car off after pulling into the driveway. She turned to look at the Pure-blood. He nodded for them to exit the vehicle.
She led him into the house, kicking off her high heels. He looked around the living room as Drew locked the front door. "Six bedrooms, three baths," she said. "It's not as posh as your penthouse in Boston, but it's livable."
"Six bedrooms?" Phillip asked as he raised an eyebrow as he followed her into the kitchen. "That's a lot of rooms. Are you sharing the space with a boyfriend? Girlfriend?"
Drew gulped. "Work keeps me busy," she said as she looked at him. "Don't have time for relationships.
"The guest bedrooms are for when friends and family stop by," she said as she turned the coffee maker on. The scent of brewing 100% Kona coffee began to waft in the air.
Phillip smiled to himself as he watched her ready two coffee mugs. He removed his tuxedo jacket and cummerbund and laid it over the back of one of the kitchen stools that surrounded the kitchen island. He loosened his tie.
Drew subconsciously felt his gaze on her. She nervously hooked a stray tendril of hair behind her right ear as she concentrated on the brewing coffee that dripped into the glass carafe that was only at three cups full.
She pulled the carafe knowing the amount of coffee would be able to fill both cups. She emptied the contents of the carafe into both of the mugs before returning it to the coffee maker for it to continue its brewing cycle. She blew out a breath before handing one of the mugs to her old friend.
He placed his wand on the counter before accepting the filled mug. He nodded at her as he took a sip. "You're not very savvy about nightcap protocols, are you?"
"No," she said as she took a sip, "I'm not an expert like you. I'll leave you to the late-night dating scene."
"Touché," he said as he nodded at her.
She placed her cup of coffee on the counter. She looked up at him and took in a breath. "Why are you here, Phil?" she asked softly.
Phillip placed his cup on the counter as well. He canted his head at her, "I need to clarify something I said earlier tonight."
Drew studied his face for a moment, not knowing what he had in mind. She averted his eye line.
He placed his forefinger under her chin so that he could look into her eyes. He took in a breath before continuing, "You're the last woman with whom I would want to spend the rest of my life."
She shut her eyes, not being able to stop a tear from rolling down her cheek. She took a step back from him as she looked into his face. "I get it, Phil," she began, her voice wavering. "You're way out of my league. I think I've always known that.
"The nightcap's over," she said stepping back farther. "I think you should leave.
"You know the way out," she said, walking quickly out of the kitchen area before he could even react.
He watched her enter a door, more than likely, her bedroom. He had to shake himself out of his funk.
"What the hell just happened," he asked himself aloud. He blew out a breath as he looked around the kitchen.
He picked up the wand and looked at the coffee cups. He waved the Wizarding implement, uttering Scourgify. The coffee cups and coffee maker were cleaned up.
He turned to look at the door she had entered. He looked down at the wooden stick in his hand and then back at the door. He shut his eyes and waved the wand.

Drew had unconsciously locked herself in her bedroom. She stood in front of her bed facing the door. 'He's gone,' she thought to herself as she started to undress. She had unzipped her dress and pulled her straps off but stopped herself, letting out a whimper. She couldn't stop the tears from streaming. 'What had happened that night?' she wondered.
Then she felt herself lifted off of her pins and ending up on her back on her bed. She was stunned for a moment before she realized Phil was on top of her.
"Sorry," he apologized as he lifted his torso off of her. He looked down at her, "I told you I'm still working on my landings."
She took in a deep breath before getting her composure. "Get off of me," she stammered, hitting his chest with her palms.
He gently grabbed her wrists and pushed them into the mattress, "Please, I need to tell you something."
"You've already said enough, Phil," she said, gulping.
"Just," he said as he looked into her eyes. Drew took in a sharp intake of breath as she saw the sincerity in his eyes. "I'm supposed to be the English major.
"I've charmed the knickers off of every steady and one-night-stand since you've known me," he began.
"I really don't need to know this," she said. Phil placed his fingertips on her lips for a moment. Her breath hitched in her chest as she looked up at him.
"But it seems as if every time I'm around you, I seem to stick my foot into my mouth," he exhaled. "Sometimes, I have to remind myself to breathe when you enter the room.
"You don't understand how difficult those late-night film study sessions were at the house," he smiled at her. "You always insisted on being the last one to leave.
"God," he said gulping, "I followed you halfway around the world for college. Dad almost blew his top when I told him about Hawai'i. But eventually, he relented. I have a feeling he knew the real reason why.
"I stayed four years," he searched her face, "not just to get the degree that I promised Mom I would get, but it was to be around you."
"You dated everyone and her sister when we were at U.H." Drew said canting an eyebrow at him.
"Yeah, I was an idiot," Phillip laughed as Drew joined in. Phil tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. He blew out a breath. "I need to know if you meant what you said in the cell that night."
Drew gulped. She averted his eyes. She began slowly, "Of course. I just want you to be happy, Phil, with whomever you end up."
He shook his head. He looked at her, "Did you mean it when you said you were in love with me."
Drew took in a breath. She looked into his eyes.
"I whispered, 'I love you,' twice while your father and I were trying to resuscitate you," he said. "I didn't care if your father heard.
"I said it again when I had to leave Hogwarts," he looked into her eyes. "I love you, Drew."
There was a slight pause. Phil felt his chest clench, awaiting a response from her.
"Well, you seem to have me at a disadvantage," she said as he let go of her wrists.
Still straddling her hips, he bracketed her torso, pushing his fingertips into the mattress. "How so?" he asked, studying her face.
She coursed her left hand down the length of his chest. He could feel her fingertips through his shirt. He took in a deep breath.
"I'm half-naked," she said as she looked into his eyes, "and you're fully dressed."
Phillip hadn't noticed until he looked below her neckline. He noticeably gasped. Drew smirked up at him. 'She must have been in the middle of undressing when he apparated in,' he thought to himself.
He smirked back at her. He picked up his wand and shrugged. "I can take care of that," he said as he waved his wand. "I guess we'll both be skins tonight."
She laughed as he tossed his wand towards the nightstand. "You're incorr…" she began before being interrupted with a searing kiss.
They struggled with each other for dominance, never once breaking their lip lock. Drew eventually found herself on top. Her breasts heaved as she looked down at him, her palms placed on his chest.
He smiled at her as he sat up allowing her to straddle his hips. She could feel his hardening erection on her midriff. She smiled coyly at him as he ran his right palm over her breasts. He kissed her neck.
"I never got the chance to tell you how beautiful you look tonight," he whispered into her ear as she took in a breath.
"I bet you say that to all the women you've bedded," she said slowly exhaling through pursed lips as she looked at him.
"You've always been beautiful to me," he said looking into her eyes. He shrugged. He adjusted himself, letting out a breath.
"We don't have to do this, you know," he said, studying her face, "If you think we're moving too fast."
She lifted herself up slightly off of him, placing her right palm on his shoulder. She grabbed his penis and eased it into her. Phil breathed in as he looked at her. She trembled slightly as she locked eyes with him.
"Are you alright," he asked as he cupped her buttocks.
"Yeah," she smiled at him. "Like I said, 'Work keeps me from having romantic trysts.'"
He smirked at her before kissing her on the mouth. He pumped up as she rode him, syncing with his rhythm.
He kissed her neck as he flipped her on her back. She ran her fingertips over his abdomen. He slowly thrust into her. She smirked up at him as her hands moved down to his hips.
"Faster, Phillip," she panted.
"As you wish," he said as he leaned over her to kiss her. He quickened his thrusts. "I love you."
"I love you more," she said as she kept up with him.

Drew shuddered as she looked down at him. He gripped her hips as she placed her palms on his chest. He smiled up at her as he noticed her eyes droopy. He pulled her face down to his and kissed her full on the lips.
He reversed their positions. She smiled wryly up at him as her eyes fluttered. He thrust into her, spilling into her as she squeezed. He moaned as he kissed her neck, pulling out of her.
He lay next to her, breathing deeply. He watched as she turned on her side facing him. He smiled at her, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. He studied her for a moment noticing her shake.
"Are you okay?" he asked, caressing her cheek. "Did I drain your healing power again?"
"No," she said looking up, giving him a weak smile, "It's just been a long night."
He laughed as he draped his arm on her hip. "You should get some rest," he said, looking at her as she yawned.
"I'm afraid," she gulped, "that this is all some sort of dream; that you'll vanish once I close my eyes."
He smiled at her. "It took me nearly a year to find you," he said as he pulled her in closer to his chest. "You can't get rid of me that easily."
"I love you, Phil," she said sleepily.
"Get some sleep, Drew," he said as he kissed her forehead. "You're coming off of a long seventy-two-hour shift."
She laughed softly. Phillip watched her take in deep breaths, knowing full well she was finally asleep. He blew out a breath. His eyes fluttered as well before giving way to slumber.

Phillip's eyes opened. The blackout curtains blocked out the morning sunshine. He looked at his Rolex; 10 am. He took in a breath and smiled as he saw her backside.
He slowly got out of bed and headed to the en suite bathroom. He used the bathroom, washed his hands, and looked in the mirror, and smiled to himself thinking about the night before. He splashed some water on his face.
Phillip exited the bathroom and pulled on his briefs. He put his pants and wifebeater tank top on. He walked over to the nightstand to pick up his wand. He headed back to the pile of his remaining clothing. He grabbed his black tie and socks and placed them in his pockets. He picked up his white dress shirt and stooped to grab his shoes that were near her desk.
He paused as he looked at the framed family photographs that were on her desk. He canted his head as he studied the last photo of a family birthday party. He took in a deep breath. He turned to look at her sleeping form. He smiled to himself.
He headed towards the bedroom door. He quietly opened it, turned to look back one last time before he exited her bedroom.
