The next morning, Midoriya household, 8:00 am
Ever since Izuku moved out, the Midoriya home became quiet as ever, as if life was sucked out from the place. The house was still quite beautiful, neat and clean as it almost seemed like new, but it wasn't lively anymore. Inko restarted her law practice as planned and it had only been a couple of days since she was reinvited to join the firm. She and Mitsuki practically spent each and every day together in the latter's home. Masarau had also been quite busy lately since he received another promotion and a ton of new projects, so to compensate for their loneliness, the two mother's enjoyed each other's company.
Today was finally the day when Mama Midoriya will be meeting her son, she had been waiting for this dearly, it might have only been almost a week since he left but it seemed like an eternity to her. Not being able to see her son's smile every morning, unable to eat breakfast and dinner together, greatly affected her health and emotional well-being. Several nights she'd cry herself to sleep, hoping that these three years would pass by quickly and her son would return to Musutafu, even if he'll stay on UA's campus, he'd still be able to visit her regularly and vice-versa.
The situation wasn't quite different for the Bakugo's too, Masarau and Mitsuki might have different ways of showing it but they missed their lad every single day. Inko remembers just yesterday Mitsuki was playing recordings of Katsuki's childhood and wishing he would be there with her.
The older Midoriya was set for the day, she'd ironed her clothes, taken a bath, had breakfast, collected Izuku's allowance from the ATM and all that was left was to wait for Mitsuki to arrive and then they'll be on their way to Tokyo. As it turns out Masaru, due his recent promotion and new projects, wouldn't be able to accompany them. The brunette had announced that he'll visit the boys within the next week as he might get a break in-between.
Just as she was about to give the ash-blonde a call, the said woman threw open the front door of their house and barged in, the greenette was content as this wasn't a rare occurrence since Mitsuki had a spare key and little patience.
"INKO!"
The older Midoriya came walking from her room and found Katsuki's mother standing in her living room, looking ready to explode.
"Hey Mitsuki, what's up?"
The said blonde, shoved a paper in her face and exclaimed. "LOOK WHAT THE BRATS DID!"
Inko paled when she read the news and found the picture of her baby boy wearing a wolf mask, with his horn poking through, unconscious in the arms of a lean statured man, marked as the pro hero 'Sir Nighteye'. She also saw a rabbit eared girl wearing a tiger mask jumping along with All Might and the final one of Katsuki being handled by police officers with a fawnette by his side trying to calm him down. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
"Wh-What..." After uttering the single word, Inko fell into darkness.
Same time, Might Tower
Toshinori had just woken up and was now standing at the roof of his tower, in his pajamas with an empty, plain coffee mug in his hand (as he couldn't physically drink) and looking over his city in stride. This has been his morning routine ever since he opened this agency. Yesterday was officially one of the most eventful days of his life, the day he got hope for a better tomorrow, it was as wondrous as the day when he found out that he could become a hero, now he just has to wait a month for their visit with the teen and he'll be all fixed up!
'Don't get ahead of yourself All Might, be patient!' He chided himself.
He was also excited about the fact that Sir Nighteye had agreed to work together on missions, he was hoping that the man would come back, but it seems that the once peace loving businessman found a taste of battles and on-field missions.
The husky blonde turned around and went back inside as the sun rose, he was on a break today as he overexerted himself the last day and several heroes were deployed in Tokyo for the reason. This was in fact the issue of him being 'The Symbol of Peace' since he was portrayed as invincible and always on the job type of hero, no one else agrees to work under his district, with the notion that they won't be able to handle their finances if all the credit goes to the man and this sometimes backfire due to his injuries.
As he reached his office, All Might was baffled to see Mirai standing in front of his desk with the daily newspaper in his hands.
"Good morning Mirai." The man greeted his ex-sidekick while taking his seat and motioning Sir to take one before him and continued. "Is everything alright, you look a little stiff."
"All Might, do you remember when I told you that All For One was behind the attack on the underground masquerade?"
This fact came as a shock to the blonde, he remembered that they never found his body, but his assumption was that some supporter might've taken it and built his shrine, but it seems that wasn't the case. From what Nighteye told him, he was alive and kicking, it also came to his attention that the dark lord is hunting for quirks and he has a 'Warp quirk' at his disposal, paired with All for one, nowhere is safe for any quirk other than his own.
"Yeah, I can't believe the bastard survived." Yagi grimaced.
Receiving his answer, Mirai adjusted his glasses and continued. "And I also mentioned that he was gravely interested in acquiring the Healer's, Rabbit's and my quirk. That he was dead set on taking Midoriya's quirk, especially when he failed to take it the first time."
"Yes, that sure was intriguing, to my knowledge, I don't know any other quirk than One for All that could be out of reach of him. But why are you telling me this? I thought there was no reporter there, so they would've published the police's story with a couple of old shots of me."
The ex-sidekick sighed and presented the newspaper to his friend. "Apparently someone was there, a freelance reporter that goes by the name 'Taneo Tokuda'. He sold these shots of you and the children to an agency. We're lucky this only got to print and not on the news but still..."
Toshinori examined the news article and noticed that the kids were easily identifiable, especially through the Isamu Highschool's uniform, his demeanour changed into a serious one and he continued where Sir trailed off. "The kids are in danger."
"Indeed."
Around the same time, Rumi and Camie's apartment
The place was in the rich-part of town and their living arrangements could easily pass up as being quite luxurious, fortunately for the ladies, Camie's parents were quite rich and hence they could help and support the girl in each and every way. The said girl, wearing black shorts and white tank-top was watching some cartoons in the pink walled living room while munching down some cereal whereas a certain Rabbit-eared girl was enjoying her beauty sleep. Last night, Rumi was too anxious so she was awake even after 3 a.m and hence her agenda for today was to stay in her room all day.
The fawnette knew things would be a little awkward after the weekend, especially after what her friend did in the hospital, jumping out the window wasn't something that the boys would brush off. She was switching through the channels while sitting on the couch when her phone rang.
Camie picked it and blushed when glanced at the name of the caller. 'Ah! It's Bakubae!'
"Heelloo! Bakubae!"
Grumbling followed her greetings from the other side. "H-Hi Utsushimi, this is Midoriya, w-we have a problem..."
The girl realised that something was wrong with the greenette's tone, so while she was a little sad that Katsuki's wasn't the caller, she didn't bring it up. Camie switched off the TV and stood up, giving Izuku, her undivided attention.
'And here I thought I'd have a nice chat with Bakubae while I watched some Romcoms, speaking of Romcom, the next episode of that series was airing today, uhh, uhhhhhh I can't remember the name of it, well I won't get to see it anyways, Rums gonna wanna watch news, man news is sooooo boring, there isn't even a fake laughter track in the background, I mean- bring the laughter people! But it'll still be boring, a bunch of villains did something bad, a bunch of heroes did something good, woo... Blegh. Speaking of heroes, man I can't stop thinking about the idea that the four of us might open an agency one day, Rums and Bakubae will be the heavy hitters, I'll cause the distraction and be the 'glamour' of it! AND WE'LL HAVE OUR VERY OWN HEALER! How many agencies have that, NONE! Even Might Agency relies on RG from UA to fix them, speaking of Midoriya...!' She internally muttered her thoughts until she realised the greenette was still on the phone. Heh, talk about paying attention.
"...So c-can you t-two come here?" He finished
'HAS HE BEEN TALKING THIS WHOLE TIME!?' She panicked and decided to come clean. "Uh, Midoriya could you repeat that?"
There was a loud sigh on the other side when it seems that the phone was snatched from the greenette's grasp. "NOW LISTEN SWEET CHEEKS! SOME REPORTER GOT OUR PHOTOS DURING THE INCIDENT AND NOW THEY'RE IN THE NEWSPAPERS! HAVE YOU NOT LOOKED AT IT YET!?"
Camie chuckled. "Nahh, newspaper's boring..."
"SEE I TOLD YOU SHE WOULDN'T HAVE CHECKED IT OUT! ALRIGHT IT'S FINE, COME OVER AT OUR PLACE AND WE'LL TALK ABOUT OUR PLANS GOING FURTHER... THERE IS A HEAVY CHANCE THAT THE SCHOOL RECOGNIZED THE UNIFORM AND US, NOT TO MENTION WHY HAVEN'T YOUR PARENTS CALLED YET!"
Camie's mood fell at the blonde's last words. "My parents are out of the country at the moment and Rumi's a-aren't around..."
The younger Bakugo took note of her low tone and replied calmly. "Ah... It's fine, I am sending you our address, we'll meet and think about what we are gonna tell the school."
"Cool, we'll be there soon!"
Camie hung up and went running to the Rabbit-girl's room...
30 mins later, Izuku's and Katsuki's apartment
The two teens were getting quite unnerved, there were a number of reasons behind that, first that their parents would want to know what they did, second the school would also find out about it and would probably kick them out and finding a new highschool in the middle of the year would be a chore, not to mention that this act would probably go on their permanent record and could even hold them from getting into UA. Though, they were a little less worried about the latter as they had two people related to the No. 1 hero at their side.
Izuku was sitting on the couch, constantly trying to call their parents and school but no one was answering, while Katsuki was doing his best to make the place look presentable, he was also taking care of their lunch and a couple of deserts to butter up their parents.
That's when the front door flew upon, revealing the two girls, Camie was wearing denim blue jeans with a plain black t-shirt, while her Rabbit-eared partner was wearing sweatpants and a long T-shirt that read 'LET ME SLEEP'.
"Heyyo! We came as soon as we could! Rums is a little tired but I got the job done!"
The said girl just gave a casual wave and avoided eye-contact with the uni-hornette.
"P-Please sit down, can I off you a cold beverage?" Izuku displayed his hospitality while motioning them to a couch placed in front of the TV that was showing daily news. They had that on ever since they read that article, dreading the moment when the reporter might bring up their picture or live action videos.
Katsuki came walking from the kitchen and grunted in order to make clear of his presence
"OH! You look sooo cute Bakubae!" The fawnette quickly pulled out her phone and snapped a couple of pictures of the ash-blonde boy standing in his pajamas and wearing a cherry dotted apron.
"Can we just get it over with." Came the words of an extremely exhausted rabbit-girl who had her head on Camie's shoulders and was ready to drift off.
"H-Here." Izuku calmly offered the rabbit girl a cup of cold coffee as he found that the girl really liked it and offered Camie a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.
"T-Thank y-you." Rumi muttered under her breath as she gulped down the drink.
The young Utsushimi noticed that the girl might want to talk about yesterday, so she made herself scarce by going to the kitchen to assist the explosive boy.
"Are you okay?" The uni-hornette asked while taking a seat beside her
"I'm fine..." Rabbit-girl internally cursed her fawnette friend and spoke flatly while still avoiding eye-contact with him.
Izuku knew talking to girls wasn't his strong suit, especially if he is attracted to one, so he tried his best and mustered up some courage and replied. "Y-You don't look fine, you can t-talk to me"
"Why don't you resent me?" She murmured inaudibly to the greenette.
"I am sorry, what?"
"I SAID WHY DON'T YOU RESENT ME!?" Rumi's scream silenced the whole apartment, at first Katsuki was about to jump and chew her out for shouting at Izuku but stopped when he comprehend what she spoke.
"W-Why would I hate you?"
"Because I grabbed you and took you into all this mess, your life was in danger because of me, at the hospital I left you all by yourself and now I've endangered your chances to stay at the school and maybe you won't be able to get into UA too! Isn't all this enough to hate someone!?"
The Izuku took a moment to himself. "No, the way I see it, you didn't make me do anything, I went there with you and I HAD FUN! You think you were responsible for endangering my life but you're the one who saved me, multiple times. If we wouldn't have gone there yesterday, then Sir Nighteye and that Rapper guy would be dead! You also saved a blonde man who turned out to be All Might's assistant! If our school can't see all this, then the hell with them, I know with Sir Nighteye's recommendation we'll be able to get into any high school we want, not to mention UA, they can't keep us from entering just because we were expelled from a highschool, there is no official police record that we were there that day."
Rumi's eyes widened when she saw Izuku speaking with such confidence and determination, she also realised that the blonde man who she saved was indeed All Might's assistant...
The uni-hornette took a breath and continued. "Can't you see Usagiyama, you're amazing and in just a week of our friendship, I've started looking up to you, and how can I hate someone whom I idolise?"
The Rabbit-girl was at a loss of words, while she was overwhelmed and flattered that the greenette saw her in a way that she could never see but she was a bit stunned with the other revelation.
He didn't remember her...
Rumi shot up from her position and gave Izuku the hug of his life, both of them stayed silent throughout the period and just enjoyed each other's embrace, Izuku couldn't understand what took over him when he wasn't even kind of flustered by the girl's action, her warmth felt somewhat-
Familiar...
The two teens came back and were delighted to see their friends hugging it out, so after giving a moment to themselves Camie dragged Katsuki and all four of them joined in the ongoing hug.
"Ugh, Bugs-bunny you stink!"
They dispersed and Rumi checked her BO, after a minute of deliberation, she asked the greenette who was looking through his phone for messages. "H-Hey Mid-Izuku, can I use the shower?"
The said teen replied. "Yeah, it's down the hall to the right… I-I'll give you some of my new clothes, I think they'll fit."
Both the teens blushed a little about the fact that they would be sharing clothes.
"Y-Yeah, alright." Rumi agreed and ran down the hall to freshen up, she'd go to her own apartment but it'd take time, not to mention she was finally in a place where she wasn't feeling guilty while talking to him and wanted to enjoy this moment a little more.
While Izuku was shuffling through his closet, a thought crossed his mind. 'Now that I notice it, Usagiyama has always referred to me as Izuku, right from the first day... but then why did it sound like she was about to call me by my last name?'
He whipped out a pair of blue shorts with a loose T-shirt that read 'T-Shirt', he neatly placed the clothes right outside the bathroom and knocked on the door, he could hear the shower running and Rumi humming up a tune?
"I-I've placed the clothes outside, you can take them." Before he could receive an answer, Izuku blushed profusely and ran out of the hall to the living room.
'Phew!'
