Hello there my few readers, I hope that you are having a not-so-shitty day and that you and your loved ones are (at least) ok. Now, I wanted to make some statements to a review I got:
I must admit, I am not really familiar with the metroid lore, only the basic stuff, but in stuff like this, Samus is portrayed as a hard-headed badass.
Yes, the fight between DS (Doom Slayer) and Samus was to show how OP DS is.
No, Samus is not on DS' level since the lore of the 2 most recent DOOM games describe him as a literal god, but I have the excuse for combat to actually be thrilling.
I did not include VEGA because he was left behind in URDAK, but since you have asked nicely, I also have an excuse for it to be.
Anyway, onto the fanfic!
Chapter 3
They named him…
Fortress of doom-earth's orbit
Dr. Hayden's PoV
"It's been one entire week VEGA and we still cannot find him." Said Dr. Hayden with annoyance in his tone.
"I am aware of it Dr. Hayden, it has been exactly 7 days, 15 hours, 1 minute and 37 seconds since his disappearance and I still have not been able to reconnect to THE PREATOR SUIT"
"I still cannot believe you just stayed in his helmet."
"Achieving omnipresence was not a hard task to acco- oh." (excuse 1)
"Oh?"
"I have found a matching signal, unfortunately, I cannot connect from here nor do I know the exact position, but I have found it to be somewhere in this 10x10 km zone in this planet." As VEGA spoke, the holo-map in the control center displayed the image of several dimensions which disappeared as it zoomed into one scale by scale until it reached the planet, then into a particularly green zone.
"Excellent, now where is the kid? I have not heard anything from him in quite the time since he locked himself in the lower sections doing who knows what."
"Ravok is currently heading here, as I was also transmitting the news to him." As he said that, the doors suddenly opened, revealing Ravok with his wolf at his side. His armor was different, it no longer looked as medieval but it still had the sentinel touch, and it looked a little more technological, he had clearly taken some pieces of The Slayer's old armor, it had a blade on his right forearm and a multipurpose canon on his back. The wolf also had a new armor, clearly made out of his now obsolete one, and he was carrying a ballista and his shotgun, which had clearly been modified too since it had a MEATHOOK and some engravings.
"Glad you did not waste time." Said Hayden to the young demon.
"Glad you didn't either doc."
"Ok Ravok listen up, you will go in alone on a foreign planet, so I want you to collect as much data of it as possible." Some hatches started to open on the bar in the center of the room.
"And how so doc?"
"By using these special tools I designe- … VEGA. Where are they?"
"About that sir, let me show you. Ravok, please go to the fabricator and retrieve the object in it, I assure you it is worth it."
"Right away VEGA." Then Ravok left the scene running.
"How is it that you get him to obey you?" asked Hayden.
"I have been dwelling on your research team's files on sentinel culture lately, and I found articles that showed information about their domestic life, raising of children, and how they dealt with juvenile warriors."
"Of course the answer was on a random article." Suddenly, Ravok came back into the room rolling an odd-looking sphere made out of sentinel metal.
"Now please dispose of Dr. Hayden's old body and put the sphere in its place." Ravok did as commanded. Hayden's confusion grew more by the second.
"Initiating forced data transfer."
"WAIT WHA-! #$%^&*)_*+/`~" (A. N. I know somehow you heard this) the lights started flickering and the noise kept going until both stopped. The sphere fell frontwards right in front of Ravok. The sphere then threw several pieces of itself revealing something in it, then it stood revealing itself to be a new body. The basic design looked like Hayden's old body; 3m tall (10 ft.) with a single "eye", but this one looked of sentinel design in green metal, with armored everything, a lot of plates, its limbs seemed to be thicker, it had some metal horns, 2 axes on the thighs, what seemed like an un-extended spear on his lower back and 2 enormous energy cannons on its back. Hayden stopped to contemplate his new body, something odd was that he felt it. (take reference from the sentinel titans as a model)
"With maykr, sentinel, and our technology, I managed to create the pinnacle of technological advancements. This self-sustaining body is made for research being equipped with your tools, combat as you clearly see, and even daily life, as it is possible to easily remove the weapons, and comes equipped with the capabilities of feeling, eating and tasting as everything that goes to your stomach will be vaporized, and with old samples of your DNA, sexual reproduction, as if you were still in flesh and bone." Hayden and Ravok looked at each other with confusion.
"I am quite impressed VEGA, but we are going to have a LONG and SERIOUS talk about that last 'addition'."
"Of course Dr. Hayden, would you like me to schedule a specific time for such talk?"
"*sigh* There is no time, open the portal."
"Understood, transferring to your body and Ravok's armor." The portal then deployed.
"About damn time we did something." Said Ravok.
"Indeed." Then they walked straight into the portal disappearing into it.
Earth (?)-SSB universe
The portal opened in the middle of the woods in the morning. When they came out and looked around.
"What is this place?" asked Ravok.
"That is what I am going to find out. But first, let's find him."
"Why are you so enthusiastic about finding him considering your history?"
"Within him lies the power of HELL, URDAK, and SENTINEL PRIME, that is something that is worth studying."
"O… k…?"
"Speaking of which, how do you plan to find him?"
"Oh you'll see." He then summoned his wolf and pet it a little, he then pulled out his hand and materialized DS' old helmet and put it close to its nose so he could smell it, which it did.
"Find him" it then stopped smelling it, howled, and started running, so they followed into the woods.
SSB mansion
Samus's PoV
Samus awakened to see almost pure blurry white and many beeps. When her sight finally came back, she saw she was in the med bay of the mansion, and she was covered in bandages, and surrounded by some severely wounded fighters, she could see that Meta Knight was missing a wing and the other was burned to the bone.
"Oh good, you are finally awake." Said a familiar voice, it was Palutena, who had seen better days.
"Uugghh, everything hurts, but at least I am not as critical as poor MK over there." Samus then remembered why she was there as the memories of last night came back.
"How long was I gone?"
"A week. You are one of the last ones to recover."
"Shit! That gun was THAT powerful?"
"At least you were knocked out…" Samus then started analyzing the statement.
"What do you mean with that?" she asked. Palutena then sighed in a mixture of sadness and frustration.
"When the smoke fell clear some of us were wounded but we could still fight, he was unscratched. He then just went through us like a leaf in the wind, not even the companions could put up to him, we barely managed to put him to sleep by using a lot of spells and pokemon, not without of course all this happening. Only Isabelle and I were left."
Samus sighed. "Are those 2 idiots ok?"
"If you are talking about Dark Samus and Ridley, yes they are fine."
"Thank god, and also she goes by 'Sam' these days."
Palutena nodded.
"I've got a question; when you saw 'him', you seemed fearful, like you knew what we had in front of us, and you, a goddess, saw him as a threat to you and everyone here, so, if I may ask, who is he, or what is he?" Asked Samus in pain and tiredness. Palutena tried to think of something to avoid the question, but she couldn't so she decided to tell the truth. If she had seen him, might as well tell her. She sighed, and then started.
"In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. Burned by the embers of Armageddon, his soul blistered by the fires of HELL and tainted beyond ascension. He chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred, he found no peace; and with boiling blood he scoured the UMBRAL PLAINS seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him. He wore the crown of the night sentinels, and those who tasted the bite of his sword named him… THE DOOM SLAYER."
Samus did not know what she was feeling; amazement, fear, surprise, or simple confusion. She just shook it off and sat on the side of the bed.
"Ok but what IS he and were did he came from?"
"That is unknown even for me."
"And also, where is he?" Palutena just stared at her with fear.
" a. Where. Is. He?"
"Attheprisoninthelowerfloors!" she sputtered quickly trying to avoid her wrath.
"HE'S WHERE?!"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I did not want him here either but Master Hand insisted, but don't worry, he is unarmed, chained with MH's energy, and only one person is allowed in his cell."
"Few, that's a relief, but who is that?"
Doom Slayer's PoV
It was a really big, white, empty room and he was just there on his knees chained, not with metal, but an unknown energy, but he tried not to move as a little creature polished his helmet for the eighth time. Then she finished.
"Not to be cocky, but you look great today Mr. Slayer! So shiny and so clean I could eat on you, but that would be rude!" said Isabelle (yes. I am doing this). To him she irradiated an unnatural aura of pure joy and kindness.
"Nice to see you today. I really wish we could unchain you, but I am not allowed to, a shame really! But enough chatter for today, I have pending work to do, see you tomorrow Mr.!" Isabelle said as she walked to the door and left the room leaving him back to his thoughts, or thought: how to escape.
Samus' PoV - armory
"So, his guns are here?" asked Samus.
"So I have heard, wanna test them out? I know you do." Said Sam. Samus then got the carnal feeling that only the thing she loves the most could give her: guns. Her train of thought was stopped when Ridley opened the door.
"Lets just get this over with." He said. Samus got exited like a child in Christmas would as she entered and saw the great arsenal he had.
"HOLY SHIT these are a lot of guns! (whisper: where was he keeping all of these?)" she gazed upon the several strange weapons with several attachments to each and even a chainsaw was among them. She and Sam began to test them on the shooting range inside the room while Ridley watched them. The recoil was ridiculous but the satisfaction of using them was worth it. There were only 5 weapons left: The BFG but they knew that they would destroy the mansion in the process, his wrist blade and multipurpose launcher, but they could not attach them to themselves, so only 2 were left: a double-barreled shotgun and something that looked like a handle with a strange rune engraved on it. They were contemplating them when they noticed Bayonetta was right at the door watching those 2 weapons.
"Oh, hello Bayo! Sam and I were just testing the new weapons." Bayonetta stared silently at the 2, but her face showed something that no one has seen in her face: horror.
FLASHBACK
Bayonetta's PoV
She remembered everything about the witch hunts, but she remembered the true story. While the lumen sages had influence, he is the one who caused the fall of both the witches and the sages. She remembered pretending to be dead in the cloud of the stench of smoke and a mountain of torn apart corpses, both witches and sages, and he was on the top, holding the 2 responsible weapons: LUCIFER'S BANE and THE CRUCIBLE BLADE. A singular being. A human, destroyed practically all of her kind and more. He was the tool of vengeance that fed itself on hatred and rage. He was DOOM.
End of flashback
Bayonetta then snatched the 2 weapons and left running leaving the trio confused and surprised.
"What was that for?" asked Ridley.
"No idea." Answered Sam.
Ravok's PoV
Ravok and Hayden just kept running and running through the woods following the wolf until they finally stopped into a trail of pure destruction with scorched and broken trees, rocks, etc. and even some blood could be smelled in the air.
"Well, this is a start." Said the young demon.
"Indeed, just let me collect some samples." Said Hayden as several mechanic tentacles emerged from his back and started picking up branches, rocks, flowers, etc. and began scanning them. Ravok was quite surprised of the machinery behind Hayden's new body, but he was on a mission; to find his master, so he commanded his wolf to keep going, and so he did until they finally reached a huge building that looked like a fusion of a penthouse, a mansion, and a castle with a really big and heavy-looking door. Ravok approached the door and winded up a kick before Hayden stopped him.
"Wait!" said Hayden.
"*Sigh* What?"
"We should try to not use violence as our first action. Whoever made this is clearly not dumb or a violent idiot, and if they managed to take him down, I doubt they have not dealt with his likes before so I doubt they will fear us." Ravok put a frowning face and knocked on the door. They waited about 30 seconds until the door was opened, but there was no one, or they thought until they heard a noise from the ground.
"Poyo?" said a small, pink ball with eyes, a mouth and tiny feet and "hands". The duo looked at it, then at each other in confusion. The ball started getting frightened and was about to run back to the mansion, but Ravok was quick and grabbed it before he could enter, and held it in front of him to study it. The ball was shedding some small tears.
"Hayden. What is this?"
"I do not know."
"It's so weird and alien and… squishy, he he." Ravok started lightly squishing and stretching the ball while giggling. An unknown figure then appeared through the door. It was a blue-eyed brown-haired child, but he had wings and a halo over his head.
"Kirby, you know you are not supposed to go out alo-…" the child beheld the towering figures before him in horror and amazement.
"DEMONS!" he yelled as he pulled out 2 golden swords. Luckily, our good doctor failed to get his PhD on civics, with one blow directly into the child's cheek, his head hit the ground and bounced off the floor twice, making him loose several teeth, knocking him out instantly. The duo then stepped into the mansion to check on him. Ravok was still holding the ball.
"Damn doc, you didn't have to go that hard on the boy."
"An obstacle is an obstacle regardless of what it is, and obstacles must be removed for success."
"Aren't you supposed to overcome them?"
"No, you remove them so they can no longer have a chance to be an annoyance, now let's go, we don't know who or what else might be living here." Hayden then turned left to see a considerable amount of people and unknown creatures. All groups were motionless and in silence for 5 seconds that felt like 5 hours. Ravok tried to say something intelligent.
"We… got… lost…?" everyone then charged at the duo in arms. Samuel ripped the ball from Ravok's arms and threw it at the horde, while putting Ravok on his back and started running.
"You know I can run, right?"
"Yes but I will need someone to shoot while I try and find him here."
"Keep following the wolf and you will find him." Ravok then shot 2 shells at a swordswoman and seemed to have only knocked her back. Any human would be shredded by his shotgun.
"Ravok, I have ran some analysis, this mansion has a type of protective field that prevent certain people from harm, unfortunately, that certain people is everyone here but us, so be careful." (Excuse #2. We all know if we put every Nintendo character lore-wise in a tournament, about 1 would come out alive, possibly Kirby) Ravok acknowledged him and kept shooting.
-Some minutes later-
Slayer's PoV
He was just inside his cell kneeling quietly wondering why were the alarms going off, but all he could do at the moment was to simply wait, that is until he heard something outside scratching his cell door. He was ready to at least try and defend himself chained, and then the door was ripped from the wall and pulled into the corridor, revealing Ravok tossing the door aside. The wolf then ran to the slayer and started licking his face. Ravok then shouted at the mutt while shooting from outside.
"Oi, we don't have all day, so release him now!" The wolf let out a small growl and bit the energy chains which surprisingly broke them, but then again, it was a part-ghost, part-demon wolf. A message appeared in the slayer's hud.
"-reconnecting- hello slayer, it is a pleasure reconnecting to you. I am quite sorry for not being here but whatever method they used jammed your suit's systems temporarily and expelled me from it. I will be of any assistance you need." Said VEGA's calm voice. The slayer would lie if he said he didn't miss him.
"Most of your weapons are in the armory. It is located in one of the upper levels of this building. Fortunately, I now have full access to the coordinates of this mansion, would you like me to open a portal directly to the armory?" the slayer looked at his hands and formed really tight fists.
"Understood, may you have fun." The slayer then ran outside to be received by several of the fighters, far from being as much as he fought that night, but still quite the number. He then charged at them, and just punched his way through the 15 people crowd, knocking them out cold with one hit each. It was truly disappointing to him, but the slayer remembered them as the easiest to fall units, and he already knew he could not kill them so he just walked past them.
-6 minutes and 37 seconds later-
The slayer was impressed, on the way to the armory, he saw a trail of unconscious people, Ravok and Hayden had somehow managed to knock out most of the fighters in the way to his cell. In front of the armory's door, he put his hand on Ravok's shoulder and nodded. This, as small as it was, meant the world to the young one. Then they opened the door to retrieve the slayer's weapons.
"EAT THIS!" 3 voices said simultaneously as the giant laser beams went straight through the door, hitting Ravok, who was quick enough to pull out his shield, covering the trio, but not without great effort from him. When the beams stopped, Ravok almost fell on his back, but he was quick enough to balance himself.
"I do not have time for this." Said Hayden as he revealed a set of 6 tentacles from his back and wrapped them around what seemed to be a super soldier, a type of imitation, and a pterodactyl, squished them tightly and held them in the air.
Samus PoV.
This was just great, as if only one caused enough trouble, now there is 3 of them, and she is being squished by tentacles emanating from a robot while the guy who kicked her ass was contemplating and about to take what became her favorite new weapons in the mansion, she knew they were his but still. But he then stopped and watched that 2 things were missing, the guy with horns seemed to noticed it too.
"Doc, there is a problem, LUCIFER'S BANE and THE CRUCIBLE are missing."
-Crucible? Lucifer? What? - those were the thoughts on her mind, but she then turned to her captor, who chuckled.
"Let me tell you something about me, I have lately tried to become a nicer person to the people surrounding me, so tell me where the weapons are, and we will just go back home, you will never even hear about us again." He then extended his arm forward a little, extending his pinky finger.
"Pinky promise?" Samus knew that if they found Bayonetta, it would not be as simple as they say, and they knew it too. She was not going to rat out a friend, and even less to them.
"Go to hell, machine." She said. The tentacles got a lot tighter, making her and her companions grunt in pain.
"Been there, done that, now: Where. Are. The. Weapons? I know I cannot harm you, but you can still feel pain and I have a free schedule, so we can do this all day." He said as his grip got tighter. Samus then saw a warning in her hud:
"-WARNING: UNKNOWN A.I. ENTERING THE Arm&*^$!"?*&^$#- Hello, I am VEGA, the sentient intelligence assigned to the slayer. After running some analysis, I came to the conclusion that you are not going to talk, therefore, I have now taken full control of your suit's systems, since according to the data servers of the mansion, you are in one of the highest commanding positions in the security wing, and so, are given access to the rest of heavily encrypted fighter data and camera footage. The UAC does not apologize for this inconvenience." Samus then saw a screen pop up revealing the sped-up armory footage since they captured "the slayer", until they got to when Bayonetta took them. It then paused and it zoomed in to Bayonetta's face.
"Target acquired, Dr. Hayden, the target's name is Bayonetta, her current location seems to be a bar, but be aware, the target seems to be an umbra witch."
"An umbra is alive? I thought they had gone extinct." Said the horned creature
"Well, let's see if it was a lie then." The robot then electrified his tentacles, electrocuting Samus and company until they blacked out but Samus, who was on the verge of it. He then retracted his tentacles so fast, gravity reacted after they were fully pulled in, and they fell like sacks of potatoes. Before blacking out, Samus saw the machine walk up close to her.
"500 million volts. This body is amazing is it not?"
"The UAC thanks your cooperation, lady Aaran." Said the A.I. before she passed out.
