Queen Camila kissed her four-year-old
twins foreheads and tucked them into Marzel's bed. She felt her heart break seeing both of them sick and scared.
"Mami, don't go," The usually brave Marisa cried. Camila kissed her forehead again. Both of the twins were almost kidnapped by malandros. Fortunately King Pescoro and Daria was able to save them.
"Mami, my tail hurts and I feel yucky," Marzel whined.
"I know, Marzie, those mean malandros hurt your tail and made you yucky. Papi and I are going to make you and Missy feel better," Camila whispered using her children's pet names. She kissed their foreheads again. Marisa looped her arms around her mother's neck.
"Mami, don't go," Marisa cried.
"Missy, mija, I'm to get some medicine for you and your brother," Camila whispered unlooping Marisa's arms. She kissed Marzel and Marisa on their foreheads and left the nursery.
"Marzie, I'm scared will the malandros try and hurt us again?" Marisa asked snuggling Marzel.
"Missy, Papi and Daria took care of them," Marzel whispered.
"Marzie, I'm scared," Marisa cried into his chest. Marzel pulled his sister into a hug.
"Missy, it's ok, I'm here. I'm your big brother, I'll protect you."
"Marzie, you are only nine minutes older than me."
"Missy, I'm still your big brother. And if those malandros try to hurt you again I'll protect you."
"Thank you, Marzie can you sing Mami's lullaby?"
"I'll try Missy."
Marzel started to sing the lullaby that Camila always sang to them, forgetting some words and adding a few. Marisa fell asleep on his chest, Marzel yawn and also fell asleep.
Camila swam back into the nursery to see her twins sleeping in each other's arms. She put the tray of medicine on Marzel's nightstand. She kissed both of them on the foreheads and tuck them in tighter.
"Sleep, night niños," Camila whispered before leaving the room.
