The next day was Saturday. Quinn woke up around noon to find multiple texts from Rachel.

Rachel 9:23 am- Sorry if I woke you. I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out today.

Rachel 10:13 am- It's fine if you don't want to. Although you might still be sleeping.

Rachel 11:49 am- Please don't ignore me

Quinn's heart broke when she saw the last message. She was about to tell her that she had just woken up when she realized Rachel might not believe her if she texted her so she called instead. The brunette answered after the third ring.

"Hey Rach."

"Hello, Quinn," The blonde felt her heart flutter when Rachel said her name. It was unlike any other way everyone else said it.

"I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier. I just woke up."

"Party last night?"

"No, just went to sleep late."

"Oh. That's odd," That got the blonde's attention.

"How so?" Quinn found herself asking.

"I heard Puck was throwing a party. I just assumed you would be attending seeing as you're his best friend," Rachel explained. She hoped she hadn't offended Quinn in any way.

"That makes sense, but Puck is currently sucking up to Finn's likings so we're not really on speaking terms," The blonde said stifling a yawn.

"I see. So anyway, how did you sleep?" Rachel asked deciding to change the subject. Everyone knew Quinn and Finn didn't get along, it would be horrible to continue talking about the tallboy.

"Uhm, good, there's not really much to go off of seeing as I was unconscious. When did you wake up, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Six a.m. on weekdays and eight a.m. on weekends."

"Jeez, you wake up too early," Quinn said as a small laugh escaped her. The brunette found herself smiling at the sound.

"So, I take it you're not a morning person?" Rachel said letting a small smile form on her face.

"Definitely not," Quinn replies getting a laugh out of Rachel, "Uh, do you still want to hang out?" She found herself asking. Now that she had this time with Rachel, she didn't want to waste it.

"Only if you don't mind."

"Of course I don't. I'll go pick you up in a few minutes," Quinn said as she got out of her bed and walked to her bathroom for a quick shower.

"Okay, I'll see you then," Rachel said before hanging up. She rushed to her room to find an outfit suitable to be in Quinn's presence.

A few streets down, Quinn was rushing to get the shampoo out of her hair. Once she was finally out of the shower, she rummaged around in her dresses looking for some clean clothes that were nice enough to be in Rachel's presence.

Checking the time, she grabbed her keys and rushed out of the house without more than a wave to her brothers.

--

The drive to the Berry household was fairly quick. She got there at exactly 12:30. Sending Rachel a quick text she waited for the brunette while flipping through the radio channels.

She heard a small knock on the passenger side window and looked up finding Rachel standing outside her car waving. Smiling at the sight, Quinn quickly got out of the car to open Rachel's door for her. Rachel laughed but didn't protest as she got in.

"Hi," The brunette said once Quinn was inside the car.

"Hey, I was trying to find a good channel but I didn't know what you like," Quinn said making Rachel blush. Finn never cared enough to play something Rachel liked.

"Oh, this is fine," She said out of reflex. Rachel was too used to saying those words to Finn.

"Rachel it's classical music. I don't really think either of us wants to hear Beethoven after last week's assignment," Quinn said getting a small laugh out of the brunette at the mention of the horrific assignment.

"Okay," Rachel quickly flipped to her preferred channel. Quinn smiled and pulled out of the driveway once she saw that Rachel was glad about the choice in music.

--

She drove a long distance with Rachel singing along to every song that played. Quinn would even join in sometimes. The brunette decided it would be a good time to start a conversation once the ads started playing

"Where are we going?" Rachel asked turning down the volume. It seemed like a good question to start a conversation with. Plus she was genuinely curious as to where Quinn was taking them.

"You'll see," Was the blonde's simple reply.

Rachel stayed quiet for a while before seeing the road sign that said welcome to Lima. A look of confusion took over her features as she started to think of where they could be going. After deciding that New York and broadway were out of the question, Rachel asked her next question.

"You're not kidnapping me, right?" Quinn laughed and looked over to the small brunette. Rachel soon started laughing too at the fact that she actually asked the blonde that question.

"No, I just wanted to take you somewhere outside of Lima. Wouldn't want to risk running into Finn now would we?" Rachel nodded in agreement before turning up the volume when a familiar tune started playing.

--

Quinn drove through a small town just outside of Lima before she parked her car beside a small shop.

"We'll have to walk from here," She said unbuckling her seatbelt and getting out. She raced to the other side to open Rachel's door for her.

Rachel smiled and got out of the car. Taking her place next to Quinn on the sidewalk, the two began to walk. After a few steps, Rachel looped her arm through Quinn's as they walked in comfortable silence.

The blonde led them to a small bakery. It gave off a friendly look and it smelled like fresh cookies. It reminded Rachel of the little French bakeries she would see in movies. The owners were French, meaning they barely spoke any English.

"Salut, Fillip, Je suis ravi de te revoir (Hi, Fillip, it's great to see you again)," She said surprising Rachel.

"Quinn, je suis ravi de vous revoir. Qu'est ce que je peux vous servir? (Quinn, it's wonderful to see you again. What can I get for you?)," The guy behind the counter said looking delighted to see the blonde.

"Puis-Je avoir quatre roulaux de citrouille à la cannelle, un cupcake en velours rouge, un cupcake à la cannelle et une boîte de biscuits au beurre d'arachide s'il vous plaît et Merci? (Can I have four cinnamon pumpkin rolls, a red velvet cupcake, a cinnamon cupcake and a box of peanut butter cookies please and thank you?)" Quinn placed the order remembering the things Rachel liked. She had listened in on a conversation between her and Kurt during home ec. The man nodded and left to the kitchen to get started on what was ordered.

"I didn't know you spoke French," Rachel said as they sat down at a small table near the back of the bakery.

"There are a lot of things you don't know about me. By the way, everything here is vegan friendly," The blonde said shooting Rachel a smile.

Rachel found herself smiling at the fact that Quinn remembered she was vegan. They had a small conversation before Quinn paid for what she ordered and they left. Outside, Quinn opened the door to her car for Rachel once again.

She drove them to a the edge of a forest before stopping the car and getting out to open Rachel's door again. Noticing the curious look Rachel had, Quinn grabbed her hand and led her along a trail.

"We're almost there," The blonde promised when she saw the skeptical look on Rachel's face. Letting that calm her nerves, Rachel decided to focus on her surroundings. The scenery around them was beautiful. They were surrounded by tall trees with thick trunks.

It wasn't long before they arrived at a small mountain top covered with grass and flowers. Quinn sat down and started opening the boxes in which the food had come in.

Rachel sat a few feet away from the blonde and eyed the desserts in each box. They looked mouthwatering and they smelled amazing.

"You get the cinnamon cupcake and one of these," The blonde said pointing to the cinnamon roll for Rachel "The cookies are for us to share if we're still hungry."

They ate in a comfortable silence until the brunette started to look around. She soon realized she had never been here before. Nor had she heard of this place before.

"Where are we?" She asked looking at the blonde with a curious look.

"My make-out spot," Quinn said earning a playful slap from Rachel. She decided to tease the brunette a little as she said her next words.

"Oh! You know I like it rough!" Quinn moaned out. Rachel fiend offense trying to hide her raging blush. Quinn smirked before giving in and answering Rachel's question.

"We're in Elida, Ohio. It's right next to Lima. My mom used to bring me here when I was younger. This whole forest belongs to my mom's side of the family."

"It's beautiful up here," Rachel said not drawing attention to the fact that Quinn had just spoken about her mother. It wasn't something she did often especially not around people she wasn't close to.

"No, what's really beautiful is what's down there," Quinn said shaking her head and pointing to the beautiful village lit up by lights. Rachel got lost in the lights she didn't notice the sudden raindrops falling.

"Shit, you're going to get sick," Quinn said shrugging off her jacket, handing it to the brunette. Picking everything up in a rush, Quinn grabbed Rachel's hand and led her under a big tree. The large leaves made it harder for them to get wet.

"Thanks," Rachel said once she realized what was happening around them.

"It's no problem," The blonde replied quietly, "we're gonna have to make a run for it though," She stated once she realized the rain wouldn't let up any time soon. Rachel nodded before following the blonde out of the forest. They ran to Quinn's car and got in. Seconds later, the blonde's laughter filled the silence surrounding them.

"What's so funny?"

"Your hair is a mess," Quinn let out in between fits of laughter.

"You should see your hair," Rachel shot back. They both erupted into laughter seconds later. It was the happiest they had felt in a while.

Quinn started the car once their laughter died down. She looked to her side and saw the smile on Rachel's face before she started the drive back to Lima. Halfway there Rachel got a call from Finn. Turning down the volume she answered.

"Hello," She answered with a sour tone to her voice. Quinn was certain she never wanted to be on the receiving end of it.

"Hi Rach. I was wondering if you wanted to come over."

"I can't today," Rachel replied quicker than she should've. She turned her head to see Quinn focused on the road and nothing but the road.

"Why?"

"I'm not in Lima."

"But your dads are home and your car is too."

"I'm with a friend. Wait, how do you know my car is there?" She found herself asking once she realized what Finn had said.

"Who?"

"I said a friend. I have to go I'll talk to you later."

"Who?" Was the last thing Rachel heard him say before she hung up and let out a frustrated sigh.

"What's wrong?" Quinn asked sending a quick glance toward the brunette. She knew it wasn't anything good.

"Finn, he wanted me to come over today. I really don't want to."

"Oh...do you think he's going to be at your place when we get back?"

"Most likely."

"I don't have to take you home yet. If you want we can go to my grandparent's cabin, it's not that far from Lima," Quinn proposed knowing it would make Rachel's life just a bit easier.

"That sounds perfect actually. I'll text my dads to let them know."

"Okay," The blonde said as she switched lanes and went on her way to the cabin.
