Quinn walked down the halls of McKinley with her brothers, Nixon and Mekhi, throwing a football back and forth. Their laughter filled the halls making up for the silent dread of morning classes. It wasn't long before they split up to head to their respective lockers.

The blonde quickly emptied her bag as she looked for the right books. She thanked the heavens above for having glee for first period followed by history with Shelby. Today would be a relatively calm day if that was anything to go by.

After gathering her things, Quinn made her way to the choir room where she found Rachel and Finn having a heated argument. It didn't surprise her, after all, they were horrible together. Finn treated the diva horribly and on top of that, he was controlling and incredibly jealous. How Rachel liked him was beyond her comprehension.

"Quinn, would it kill you to give us some privacy?" Finn was quick to say, his anger now aimed at the blonde. His words coming out as more of a demand than a question.

"No, I think I'm fine here," Quinn replied with a slight edge to her voice. She watched as the vein on Finn's forehead popped out the way it did whenever he was mad. A smirk played on her face at the effect she had on the giant.

The blonde's gaze traveled to the shorter brunette who stood behind him. Rachel was scared that a fight would break out between the two, it was written all over her face. Quinn didn't know if she was concerned for her or Finn, but she didn't want to find out in fear of what the truth would be. Thankfully, the rest of the gleeks walked in putting a rest to whatever was to come.

--

Once the bell rang Quinn left the choir room in a rush. She darted out the door and down the hall in hopes of getting to class early. The last thing she wanted was to be stuck next to Rachel for the next class period after what happened earlier.

With her head held high and her varsity jacket around her shoulders, Quinn strolled down the hallway with ease. Students parted liked the red sea granting her easy passage through the halls. It was at moments like this that the blonde was truly grateful for her popularity.

Turning the corner to head to class, the blonde noticed a smaller kid, maybe a freshman, pinned up against the lockers with Azimio holding him in place. The entire scene made the blonde's blood boil. She was tired of the bullying that happened at McKinley High.

Deciding to put a stop to Azimio's terrorizing, Quinn took matters into her own hands. Walking up behind the football player, the blonde reached out to place a hand on his shoulder shifting his attention from the freshman to her. As soon as he turned to face her, her fist flew and made contact with his nose eliciting a loud crunch of bones.

"What the fuck Fabray!" He shouted reaching up to hold his throbbing nose. It wasn't long before red liquid started oozing out.

"Get the fuck out of my hallway before I do something worse," Quinn threatened making him run off like the coward he was.

'So much for a calm day,' She thought to herself before she turned to the kid against the lockers. His eyes were wide with fear and surprise.

"Are you okay?" She asked placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. He quickly nodded too scared to say anything, "I'm not gonna hurt you if that's what you think. I just thought I'd help you out. Be careful next time, 'kay?"

"O-okay," The freshman stuttered. Quinn flashed him a small smile before speaking again.

"What's your name?" The blonde suddenly asked.

"C-C-Camren, Camren J-Jauregui," He spoke jutting his hand out to shake hers. Despite his nerves and confusion, he was polite.

Quinn smiled a genuine smile and shook his hand. Her smile fell when she saw the group of people watching the interaction in awe.

"Don't you all have something better to do?" She nearly shouted causing the crowd to disperse. Students nearly tripped over each other trying to get as far from the blonde as possible. Rolling her eyes she brought her eyes back to the trembling freshman.

"Let me know if someone bothers you again, okay? I'm officially adopting you as my freshman," She joked getting a laughed from the boy.

--

"Ah, Ms.Fabray care to explain why you're late?" Shelby let out when Quinn entered her classroom. The blonde shrugged and looked around the room before pointing to Azimio who was huddled in a corner holding a bag of ice to his nose.

"Just take a seat," Shelby said as she reached up to pinch the bridge of her nose. She was one of the many teachers who couldn't stand Quinn's rebellious behavior at school. Despite causing nothing but trouble during her three years at McKinley, no one dared to cross her, teachers included.

"Will do," The blonde muttered before walking further into the class. In seconds she found herself seated next to none other than Rachel Berry who made it very clear that she would ignore her existence.

'Thanks a lot, God,' The blonde thought to herself as the class progressed. The entire class period was awkward, to say the least. Rachel had scooted as far away from Quinn as she could get and Shelby kept making an effort to get the blonde to talk. By the end of class, Quinn was almost certain she would die of boredom.

--

The rest of the day went by in what seemed like a flash. Classes started and ended. Students fought and laughed. Teachers yelled and sighed. Quinn and Rachel ignored each other except for the subtle stares they'd give each other when the other wasn't looking.

Now finally at the end of the day, the blonde strolled down the halls with her brothers beside her. Students and teachers alike moving out of their way.

"Q, maybe keep your eyes ahead instead of on Rachel," Nixon teased as he nudged her playfully. The blonde had nearly bumped into a passing freshman. Rolling her eyes, Quinn punched his arm eliciting a laugh from him.

"I don't know what you're talking about, Nix," Quinn said as she moved to walk ahead of her brothers leaving them behind. She heard their teasing words behind her causing her to laugh silently to herself.

"Hey freshy, finish the day okay?" The blonde asked coming to a stop beside the freshman she had 'adopted' earlier. His gaze quickly flicked up to meet hers before he started smiling.

"Yeah, it was okay after what happened earlier. I think you scared the jocks," Camren spoke as he fiddled with his fingers and pushed his glasses further up.

"Between you and me, they're all scared of me," Quinn said leaning closer as if she were telling him a joke. He laughed quietly before turning his attention to his vibrating phone.

"Hot date?" Quinn jokingly asked, getting a smile from the smaller boy.

"I wish," He responded with a hint of a laugh in his voice, "No, it's just my mom telling me that she and mama won't be home until late."

Though he had a smile on his face, his voice gave away his true feelings. Quinn was sympathetic toward him. His words reminded her of nights she wished her parents were around for dinners, she had her brothers of course, but it wasn't the same.

"Come on, what do you say we get some pizza? Get to know each other. After all, I'd like to know who I adopted," She joked although Camren understood what she meant.

"Really?" Asked the smaller boy with a look of wonder in his eyes. Quinn simply nodded before ruffling his shaggy hair. They were both completely oblivious to the fond look coming from Rachel across the hall.

Despite her rebellious behavior, Quinn wasn't as tough as she let on. Rachel saw behind the façade she put on. Behind her tough exterior was a kind-hearted girl with a pure heart. She was just hurting and other people didn't realize that.

--

It wasn't until two weeks later that Quinn gained the courage to make a move. Two weeks of flirty looks and silent words shared between them prepared her for this moment. It took some convincing from Camren, but it was the blonde who ultimately made the decision.

Already running late, Quinn practically burst into Ms.Corcoran's classroom. She felt her nerves creep up on her once she felt the eyes of everyone in the room on her. Subtly shaking her head, Quinn walked further into the room until she was face to face with Shelby.

"Why are you late?" The older teacher asked quietly.

"Shelby, I'm sorry I'm late, but can you please excuse Rachel today? I need to make things right," The blonde spoke in a quiet tone. Her pleading look and the nervousness radiating off of her were enough for the teacher to know she meant well.

"How long will this take?"

"The whole day?" The blonde replied in more of a questioning tone. It was as if she wasn't sure of what would happen. Shelby sighed in response and stepped away from Quinn. She went to the front of the class and spoke.

"Rachel, Figgins needs you," Rachel looked up quickly upon hearing her name and began nodding while gathering her things. Standing up, she walked to the front of the class and stood beside an uneasy Quinn.

"Will I need a pass?"

"No, it's okay just go," Shelby said with a wave of her hand, "Quinn will take you."

"Okay," Rachel replied, leaning in to give her mom a short hug before leaving with the blonde a few steps behind. She walked with Quinn in awkward silence.

"We're not going to Figgins' office," Quinn finally said making the brunette stop abruptly.

"But Shelby said-" Rachel started before getting cut off.

"That was her excuse to let you leave. She'll cover for you so that your dads won't know," Quinn explained quickly. She had this thought out despite having so little time.

"Where are we going?" The diva found herself asking.

"Somewhere only we know," Came Quinn's simple reply. Rachel broke out into a wide smile and quickly took her hand.
