Four days had passed since their night in the cabin. It had been four days since everything changed. There was an unspoken agreement between them that they wouldn't go public about their relationship. There were stolen kisses shared between them and late nights out whenever they could, but no one knew and they liked it that way.
In school, everything was the same. They acted indifferent toward each other and only spoke when it was necessary. To everyone else, nothing had changed, but every silent look they shared spoke a million words that only they understood. Rachel was dating a certain giant named Finn, so no one could make any speculations about her and Quinn.
Currently, Quinn was in the locker room getting ready for her date with the brunette after football practice. Everyone had left, eager to start the weekend; well, everyone except for Finn Hudson. The giant couldn't get his locker open causing him to be left behind by the rest of the team.
"Do you need help with that?" Quinn asked getting frustrated with the fact that Finn kept banging on his locker and pulling on the lock as if that would make it magically open. There were only certain instances in which she would help him and this was one of them.
"No, I can open my locker," He answered with frustration laced in his voice. With every wrong combination, his face proceeded to grow redder and redder. The blonde simply put her hands up in surrender before going back to her locker and pulling her shirt on.
Beats of silence passed before they both heard the locker room door opened giving entry to a small brunette by the name of Rachel Berry. Rachel hadn't seen noticed the blonde because she went straight to Finn's locker which was a row in front of Quinn's.
"Hey," Quinn stopped what she was doing and listened to what they were saying. She didn't mean to eavesdrop, but she couldn't help it.
"Hey, what are you doing here? We're supposed to practice tomorrow," She heard Finn say in a calmer voice than before.
"I know, I just wanted to see my favorite guy," Came Rachel's sweet voice. Quinn knew it was all an act but she couldn't help the ache she felt in her heart.
"Aw, come here," She heard Finn say before the sound of their sharp inhales followed by the sound of their lips connecting and disconnecting. She could feel her temper rising by the second. Unable to take it anymore she slammed her locker shut and stormed out of the locker room.
"Quinn," Rachel gasped out, catching a glimpse of the blonde. She turned her attention back to Finn and made some dumb excuse that only he would believe before she left.
Walking out of the locker room she looked both ways and saw Quinn at her locker getting her textbooks for homework. If her frantic movements were anything to go by, she was pissed.
"Quinn," Rachel called running over to where the angry blonde was.
"What do you want?" Quinn spat out through gritted teeth. She knew she shouldn't be mad; this is what they agreed upon after all, but it still felt like a thousand knives had just punctured her heart.
"Quinn, it's not what it looked like," Rachel spoke in a pleading voice causing the taller girl to let out a sarcastic laugh before responding.
"Really? Because it looked a lot like you were tongue fucking him."
"Quinn, I-"
"Don't, Rachel...just don't," The blonde let out in a softer, sadder voice. Why did she feel like Rachel just cheated on her when they weren't even together? "I'll pick you up at six," Was the last thing she said before shutting her locker and walked away without giving Rachel the time to respond.

"Uncle Grey, please let me borrow your truck," Quinn said following the older man around the house.
"Why?" He asked coming to a stop in the kitchen where he began pulling out cookbooks looking for a recipe for tonight's dinner.
"I already told you, I want to take a girl to a drive-in tonight. Please? My car isn't fit for a drive-in date," She pleaded hoping he'd agree. She had a backup plan if he didn't but this seemed better.
"Fine, but no sex in my car," He said knowing full well that it was no use arguing with his niece.
"I can assure you I won't be sleeping with anyone tonight."
"Ugh, just take the keys and go," He responded with a laugh in his voice. She thanked him quickly and left to her room before he could change his mind.
Running up to her room, Quinn grabbed a blanket for them to use. She slipped her phone into her pocket and made her way to the truck. Checking the time, she pulled out of the driveway and drove to Shelby's house to pick up the diva.
Putting the car into park, the blonde stepped out and made her way to the front door where she took a breath and knocked on the red-painted door. She heard some rustling on the other side before the door opened to reveal Rachel's mother.
"Hello, Quinn," Was her greeting, it was short but exactly nothing more or less than what the blonde expected from her. The two shared a mutual understanding that they wanted what was best for Rachel but that didn't mean they liked each other, "Rachel will be down in a few, do you want to come in?"
"Only if you don't mind," Quinn replied always being one to use manners. Shelby smiled and opened the door further to allow her entry. The two made small talk in the living room until Rachel came down the stairs leaving Quinn awestruck. She was dressed in a navy-blue sundress with a yellow floral pattern spread across it.
"You look stunning," Quinn spoke out loud without thinking twice. This earned a blush from the brunette before she returned the compliment.
"Thank you, and you look amazing," Rachel said in a shy voice making Quinn smirk. It took everything in her not to kiss the brunette in front of Shelby.
"Ready to go?"
"Yup, I just have to grab my bag," Quinn nodded and watched as she walked into the hall where she assumed her bag was.
"Don't hurt my daughter, okay?" Shelby's motherly voice sounded from behind the blonde startling her out of her thoughts, "Look, I know what they say about you in school and I'm sure that none of that is true, but I just don't want to see Rachel get her heart broken."
"Shelby, I can promise you that I would never do anything to hurt her. Rachel, she's not like everyone else," The blonde said looking everywhere but at the older woman.
"Quinn, you ready?" Rachel asked coming back from the hallway. She found both her mother and her date smiling in the living room sparking her curiosity about what she had missed. Getting a nod in response, they left the house hand in hand with Shelby reminding them of Rachel's curfew.
Once outside, Quinn led the brunette to the truck and opened the passenger side door for her. It was a chivalrous act that didn't go unnoticed by the diva. Once Rachel was secure in the seat, Quinn closed the door and rushed to the driver's side to get in. She slowly pulled out of the driveway and drove away toward the drive-in.
"Are we going to talk about what happened today?" Rachel asked after they spent no more than five minutes on the road.
"Can we not?" The blonde responded in a way that wasn't harsh like Rachel had expected. Instead, it sounded like a genuine question, "Can we just act like that didn't happen? I want us to go on a date like a normal couple, not like two people sneaking around. Can we do that and just forget about it?" Quinn let out, shaking her head slowly in a defeated manner.
"Okay," Rachel replied as she slipped her hand into Quinn's. The football player quickly glanced down at their intertwined fingers before letting a smile grow on her face. They both knew they would need to talk about this, but for now, they were okay and they knew they would be okay.
They drove the rest of the way in a lightened mood. Rachel had turned up the volume to whatever radio station was playing, officially putting an end to their conversation. She sang along to every song with Quinn joining in on occasion.
"Gosh, I love this song," Quinn yelled over the beginning sounds of 'Crazy little thing called love' by Queen.
"Really? It's one of the few songs I've never understood," Rachel replied in a voice just as loud. Quinn shot her an incredulous look as she began singing at the top of her lungs.
--
"How do you not like this song?" The blonde genuinely asked, turning down the volume once the song was over. Her head turned to cast quick glances at the diva before diverting her eyes back to the road.
"I don't know, I just never really got the point of it," Rachel shrugged turning her full attention toward the girl driving.
"This song practically my theme song," Quinn laughed out, "This thing called love, I just can't handle it," She sang eliciting a giggle from Rachel.
"You're such a dork sometimes."
"You love it."
"Crazy little thing called love," Quinn smirked at Rachel's use of the phrase and shook her head. She kept driving until they got to their destination.
--
When they got there, Quinn paid the entrance and drove to a secluded spot in the back that was elevated so they could see the screen over all the cars parked on the dirt. They were alone on the higher patch of land giving them the privacy they needed for their night out.
"Best seat in the house," Quinn said once they were both settled in the bed of the truck.
They watched the ads in comfortable silence, occasionally making jokes and humorous comments until it started getting darker and the movie started playing. Quinn had picked the perfect night to attend the drive-in, tonight they had a showing of 'Funny Girl' Rachel's all-time favorite movie.
As the sun started going down the night got colder and the small breezes turned into colder gusts of wind. Quinn looked over to Rachel and saw her shudder whenever the wind would hit her. Taking off her jacket, she motioned for Rachel to sit in between her legs, which she did. The brunette leaned into Quinn's chest as the blonde draped the jacket over them and instant warmth surrounded them, mainly radiating off of the blonde.
Silence encompassed them as they watched the rest of the movie. It wasn't until the intermission began that one of them spoke.
"I broke up with him," Rachel all but blurted out.
"What?"
"I don't want to be with him, Quinn," The brunette explained, turning around to face Quinn, "I never did...I want to be with you and only you. Quinn, I love you," Rachel said staring deep into the blonde's hazel eyes.
"I love you too," Came the blonde's response before she leaned in and sealed their words with a kiss.
'It won't ever get better than this,' Quinn thought to herself as she let herself melt into the kiss.
