I do not own Young Justice.
Enjoy!
What was he doing here?
He looked around and saw the world was paused, a dog was froze in mid-air as it grabbed a Frisby, birds were frozen in midflight, water droplets had stopped like crystals.
There was no wind.
So every and yet so comfortable.
This was really cool, he began walking and saw a house in a frozen blaze.
He walked into it, instead of ignoring it and walking away, he found that there was nobody in the house normally.
He followed the fire and found himself in the garage, he saw in mid-explosion a boy with orange hair frozen in the air.
He walked passed him and saw a glass lodge into the kid's heart and gold electricity coursing through it.
This kid looked familiar but where?
He pushed him and the kid exited out of the frozen world, only to suffer because the glass was piercing his heart in real-time now.
What he attempted to do, was clearly a bad idea.
"H-Help me," said the boy, choking on his own blood. "I just wanted to be like the my Uncle. The Flash."
The boy's number was up, he was going to die in a mere few minutes.
Unless.
"Would you like to be, reborn child?" He said he did not know what possessed him to say that. "Its the only way you will survive. But you need to be willing to be somebody else."
"Y-Yes" the boy managed to gurgle.
"Remember my name child. Its Zygon. And there is nobody stronger them me" he said. "Nobody"
And then the kid passed out.
They disappeared and time started again, the garage was completely destroyed along with the house.
Nobody could have survived it, Wally West was declared dead hours later.
And a child opened his eyes.
"Are you sure?" He heard.
"Earth has become a lot more friendly to aliens. One of their greatest hero's is a Kryptonian." Said a woman voice. "Do you have a better idea? Our child is special, do you want to call our mighty leader to deal with a child? Our son needs a role model, somebody who will catch him if he does something bad. How can we punish him, if he's too fast for us to catch him? He's going to be nothing but a criminal if this keeps up"
"Fine, well go in the morning," said a man voice. "Who knows what those humans will teach him if he doesn't have at least one of us around."
The boy closed the gap in the door.
Was that the voice of his new parents?
He remembered everything.
He was Wally West, he had tried to become a superhero like his Uncle but had failed miserably and somebody named Zygon saved him.
Now he was here.
Here, with the name Hex Goldberg, an alien.
A very mischievous brat but an alien.
An alien that can pass on as human very easily, you wouldn't realise it, unless you did a full-body scan and saw that his heart was separated like he was brokenhearted but he was alive.
He turned around, only to run into a wall because the sudden super speed had made him falter.
"Woah," he said.
He turned around again and ran again, he super sped his way to the other side of the corridor which took less a second.
"This is amazing!" he said, and then his stomach rumbled.
He was so hungry.
So he ate, he ate more then he had ever eaten before and enjoyed every minute of it.
Filled, he went running around the neighbourhood, until he tired himself out.
His parents had to strap him down to make he actually went to sleep instead of eating food and running again.
He pouted at that.
When he woke up, he saw a planet moving away from him and he was strapped.
Apparently, he had been drugged to sleep longer.
Before he got mad, he saw a man, he had seen before, floating in space but dressed like a galactic level ruler.
Zygon.
The man snapped his fingers and the planet behind the man began to look more lived in and high tech.
Hex knew right then and there that if he went up again this man, he would die like an idiot.
He was pretty sure his hero Flash would die like an idiot too.
He felt an odd sense of comfort, knowing that he was a citizen of somebody so strong.
They arrived on Earth and he was loaded into a house like he was a dangerous prisoner.
To be fair he was a 7-year-old, who was high on super speed.
"Okay, well release him slowly," said his father.
They began to unstrap him, but the moment he was loose enough, he burst through the rest and ran out the door.
He loved feeling the window in his hair.
He soon got his stride and blasted through the streets, as he yelled. "Wahoo!"
His mischievous nature soon came out, as he used his speed to prank people.
His activities didn't go unnoticed, however, in fact, he ran right past his Uncle Berrys workplace unknowingly and the league became aware of a speedster on the loose, that was clearly a child having the time of life.
He eventually made his way to the bank and looked through the window.
"If I run in, I could rob the place without anybody noticing," he said.
Suddenly he heard behind him. "I would notice"
He turned around to see The Flash, his former idol towering over him, he was awestruck for a moment but then he remembered that he wasn't supposed to know the man so he tried to run.
However, the man grabbed him and lifted him off the ground, his feet a blur.
"Look, what I have here, a new speedster," said The Flash and one who looked so much like nephew Wally too.
"Let me go!" Said Hex. "I promise I'll, be good!"
"Why don't you look me in the eye and say that?" Said The Flash, amused.
Hex crossed his arms and said. "No. The moment you drop me. I'm out of here"
"Then I won't drop you kid," said The Flash, as he struggled more. "And it looks like somebody knows you'll cause trouble. There's a number on your back"
"My parents did what!? That's so embarrassing!" Said Hex, trying to reach it.
"Let's call the number and find out where you belong," said The Flash, going to a payphone and calling the number on the shirt. "I found your kid. Of course, I can drop him off."
The phone call ended.
"Well, it looks like your coming back home with me." said The Flash.
"Eat my shorts," said Hex.
"Feisty, fella aren't you?" Said The Flash. "When did you get your powers?"
"What do you mean, get?" Said Hex. "I was born like this. I'm an irregular. I do what I want"
"Well, that's a terrible mindset to have," said The Flash, as he ran to the address given. "Has anybody ever spanked you?"
"Please. My parents can't catch me" he said, "Anyway, they keep me locked up most of the time"
They got to the house and The Flash rang the doorbell, a few seconds later a man and woman, who was not Mary and Rudy West appeared.
"Hex! Thank god your okay!" said his mother.
"Up, yours," he said, walking in.
"...What a lovely kid" said The Flash.
"Sorry about our son. We'll do try our best to contain him but there is only so much we can do" said the man, before he said. "Thank you for helping us out this time. He just disappeared"
"No problem," said The Flash. "It's nice to meet another speedster"
And besides, the Justice League now knew where the kid was.
The Flash sped away.
The man thought that would it, as two leaguers stationed near the house.
However, Hex had learned that when he did something bad, The Flash shows up.
So he was going to be bad.
They all underestimated just how hellish a 7-year-old could be with superpowers.
Hex escaped that night, only to be brought back by a leaguer who saw him shaving spots onto people heads.
But he kept on escaping and the Leaguers had to stop him from doing bad things repeatedly and take him back to the house.
By the end of the week, the Justice Leaguers had, had enough.
#Watchtower#
"Who knew one child, could be so awful?" said Wonderwoman.
"Flash, take the child," said Batman.
"What?" Said The Flash.
"Your the only one fast enough to keep up with this child," said Batman. "His parents clearly can't handle him."
Green Arrow said. "Alone this week, the kid has defaced many monuments, set up traps for people. He has attempted to flood the streets with cotton candy, he set off every alarm in Museum and he stole dogs and stacked them on top of each other." The man suddenly laughed and said. "This kid's hilarious"
Everybody stared at him and the man quickly said. "I mean, it's only a matter of time before he seriously hurts somebody"
"Okay, Okay," said The Flash. "I get that this kid is the devil reincarnated. But it's so weird, especially after Wally's death, this kid suddenly shows up looking exactly like him"
"Well, I know it's hard but if you don't step in." Said Wonderwoman. "This kid will either burn a city down or somebody like Lex Luther with grab ahold of him. He's still a kid"
The Flash sighed and said. "Fine. I'll talk to his parents"
The Superhero journeyed to the house, only to find the kid trying to escape through the window.
"Oh, you don't, you little monster." said The Flash, grabbing him.
"What are you doing here?" Said Hex.
"Returning you and talking to your parents," said The Flash ringing the doorbell.
The door opened and the man saw how tired the kid's father looked.
He felt so sorry for the man.
"Can I come in?" He said.
"Of course. Anything for The Flash" said the man and he entered the house and sat down on the couch in the living.
It was actually a pretty nice house.
Hex tried running again only for the Flash to lift him in the air.
"What would you say, if I told you, I'm willing to take your child in and make him my sidekick?" said The Flash.
And for the first time in a while, Hex stopped moving and stared.
"Sidekick?" Said his mother. "We always thought, he would be in jail. We can't possibly ask somebody to take care of our child"
Man, his parents have completely given up on him. Thought The Flash.
"Do I get a colourful costume?" Said Hex, surprising them all.
"If I say yes, will you stop escaping from the house and trying to destroy everything you see?" Said The Flash.
Hex gave him a thoughtful look before saying. "Okay. But I want flashy red goggles too, "
The boy's parents looked at The Flash like he was creating a miracle before their very eyes.
They had never seen Hex say yes to a deal before.
"Come with me tomorrow. And we'll have a suit made for you" said The Flash. "But only if your good"
And Hex looked like he was thinking about it.
"Mr Flash," said the boy's father. "We are very grateful, that you want our son to be a sidekick, but there is something you should know."
"Is it allergies?" Said The Flash. "No worries. Once he's scanned, we'll know about it"
"That's the thing," said the boy's mother.
"You, see where not from around here," said the boy's father. "We're not from this planet."
Silence.
Dead silence.
"So if you scan him, he would look a little bit different compared to the rest of the other children." said the boy's mother.
Hex said. "Zygon's, my hero"
He enjoyed the look on his former Uncles face.
He had achieve his goal to become The Flash's sidekick.
Who said mischief would get him nowhere?
And scene!
