It had been a crazy few weeks.
The world got split into two realities, children and adults existed in their own separate realities.
He was chill until Doctor Fate nabbed Zatanna father body and revealed to him that he wasn't stupid.
Doctor Fate challenged him to call the monster out but he could not, which confirmed to the god that Zygon really didn't care as long as he didn't mess with him.
The Lord of order vanished with the body and he could not look Zatanna in the eye, Black Canary gave him a look after that and she went as far as to call his parents to make sure he didn't try to off himself.
There was no guarantee that it would always work for him.
He could just kill himself like a mourn then they would be mourning two people.
But things were tense between him and Black Canary for a few days which was very noticeable as Zatanna moved into the cave.
He thought that that was his worst day, but on the original day of Wally West birthday, he was told by Artemis that Megan and Superboy were dating and he almost got killed when he went to deliver a heart to a Queen.
Hex's birthday was a mere two days after Wally's, so his fast healing had more than enough time to get him out the bandages and into a party hat so that he can enjoy as much food as he wanted, which included two cakes.
He was 16 years old and ignoring any look from the Flash.
After all Hexs birthday was 2 days after Wally Wests birthday, the man must be feeling something since it was very easy to mistake him as an older Wally if he survived.
It was most likely the reason, The Flash will never take him to meet the West Family or show them a picture of Kid Flash without the costume on.
And he wasn't sure about seeing them either, he gave up his identity so he can live and have a shot at becoming the Flashes sidekick.
How would he go about that?
But he was sure, somebody noticed the glances the Flash sent his way, he wouldn't be surprised if the other superheroes had a talk with the superhero after the party.
He was more interested in finding out if Dick, had ever gone down The Flash's timeline and discovered Wally and how shockingly similar both of them looked and that were only two days apart.
They could be twins.
And then a day after his birthday, his parents decided to drop the bomb on him that 16 was the age their species advanced in maturity.
Discovering new-found maturity was not fun, especially when he realized he had been the guy who 'hated' a girl he liked all along.
Yeah, that was not a fun day for him.
Dick mostly know he had the hots for Artemis when he defended her from Red Arrow accusing her of being a spy.
He was especially crushed when he found out she had sent them all on a wild goose chase so that she can bag the villain solo.
She struggled to gain his trust back but he saw that she truly fought for it and for a moment he thought she liked him too but he crushed that.
Like what happened in that desert wasn't just an amnesia thing.
But there was no way right?
It all came to a head when they saw Superboy mysteriously flying and shooting beams out of his eyes like superman and the guy came clean.
Lex Luther was apparently Superboys father, which explained why he doesn't have all the powers of Superman and Lex Luther had been given him special patches to suppress his human side.
The downside was, he got really aggressive.
It was a bombshell dropped on all their heads.
But then Megan revealed her true form to all of them and everybody was staring at the monster but he said. "Cool"
Everybody looked at him in surprise.
"She looks like one of the game characters, I used to play as a kid" he explained. "Now that I think about it, I played some messed up games as a kid. So I'm pretty much desensitised"
His eyes were sparkling as he inspected a shocked Megan.
Artemis ended up dragging him away so Megan could breathe and go back to a form she was more comfortable with.
And then Artemis revealed her secret, which was her messed-up family, even wheelchair mom was an ex-major criminal.
He was taking this much better then Artemis thought he was.
"So you come from a family of criminals, big deal," he said, surprising all of them. "Well as long as you aren't going to rob a bank or kill us I'm fine with this"
Suddenly Robin coughed pretty loudly and they all turned to look at him.
"Hex...do you have anything to say to the group?" Said Robin.
Suddenly his outgoing air shut down and he said. "No..."
"Oh, come on, we all know you have a secret," said Artemis. "Why is Doctor Fate afraid of you?"
"...no reason," he said.
"Everybody, step right up and come look at Hex's medical records!" Said Robin.
"Okay, fine!" He said before he dropping his own bombshell. "I'm an Alien!"
Silence.
Dead Silence.
Everybody face but Robin face changed.
"See, it wasn't that hard," said Robin.
"I hate you sometimes," he said.
"Hang on. What do you mean, Hex's an alien?" Said Superboy.
This was news to many of them.
"I mean, I wasn't born here," he said. "My family moved here from the planet Firescorn when I was seven in hopes, that the new planet will calm me down. I wasn't exactly an angel."
"An Angel? More like the devil," said Robin. "I read that The Flash found you trying to rob a bank on the day you moved here. There was a whole folder just for your criminal activities."
"Okay, I was pretty bad," he said, as everybody looked at him with wide eyes.
"Wait, a minute. If your an alien" said Artemis. "What was with all the alien comments?"
"Oh, yeah that," he said, looking uncomfortable. "It's pretty easy for me to forget I'm an alien because the inside of me is pretty much identical to a human being except for my heart. My heart looks like it's torn in half. There is a gap between it and somehow I'm still alive, so... yeah"
Everybody blinked at him owlishly even Robin.
"But you really can't tell," he said. "I don't have a shapeshifting ability, my power can be explained away by mutant ancestry and I eat, sleep and sweat just like everybody else."
Silence.
"Well, I thought I was kind of like everybody else until my parents dropped a bomb on me that I will start to mature like crazy when I hit 16," he said. "Oh, yeah and there's that whole thing with death"
They all stared at him.
"Wait. Back up" said Robin. "What thing with Death?"
"Yeah... I think I can grant wishes when I'm on the brink of death" he said, as everybody continued to stare at him. "Yeah, people can come back to life which I was trying to do in that nightmare scenario but it wasn't real so it didn't work, instead I woke up before all of you. I think I can help Zatanna father but it's too..."
"It's too dangerous," said Aqualad. "I can tell your not one-hundred per cent and nobody wishes to see you die on a mere hunch"
Silence.
"So..." Said Robin. "Have you ever wished for somebody back?"
"Oh, God. Don't remind me," he said. "It was before I became Kid Flash and I was such a huge mourn."
"If you're calling yourself a mourn, then the universe must have stopped because of your idiocy," said Artemis.
"Actually, it did..." He said and everybody stared at him with wide eyes.
She was joking!
"Jesus, Hex. What did you do as a kid?" Said Artemis. "I was joking! Why is your criminal rap so big?"
"Really? Says the girl who came from a family of famous criminals" said Hex.
Both of them went back and forth.
"Are those two?" Said the new girl.
"No. Not yet" said Aqualad.
"However, would you like to place a bet on who would admit their feelings first?" Said Robin.
"Yes, their stubbornness does keep things entertaining," said Aqualad.
"Sure," said the new girl.
They watched them bicker some more before Aqualad broke the two up and they came up with a plan since almost everybody was approached by a villain for a secret they had now revealed onto everybody.
That night they took down the society of light like heroes.
But Lex Luther managed to get away.
However, they caught most of them and celebrated as they headed back to the cave.
However, when they did so they met Batman and Red Arrow who told them the WatchTower had been breached and the person who was the mole was none other than Red Arrow.
It turns out Red Arrow had been a clone all along which explained why Speedy personality was so driven to get into the Justice League.
They were ordered to stay behind and track down Red Arrow.
However, Red Toranado tried to infect them with something.
Some alien technology that controlled even robots.
The two split and his team went to transfer red tornado to his humanoid body, and while doing that Black Canary came in and was mad when she saw what they were doing.
"She's been controlled!" Yelled Red Tornado.
And then she unleashed her scream, they fought to contain her and eventually managed to trap her with some sleeping gas.
Then they tied her up and dragged her into the superbike, they left, just as three controls superheroes came in and found nobody.
They tracked down Red Arrow at an old abandoned apartment and picked him up.
Who knew they would hear the word Canvas again?
They met up with the Bioship and both sides became one and they came up with a plan.
Black Canary, Red Tornado and Red Arrow pretended to be controlled as they headed to the watchtower and the rest of them sneaked out around back.
They began taking down the controlled heroes as a team so that Robin had time to reverse the technology.
And Hex would proudly say he had fun taking down his mentor and the older heroes.
It was the most epic thing, he had ever done.
Of course, his body hurt but who could say they took down the justice league in a space base?
Sure the two villains got away but they had saved the day and the Justice League.
And then it happened.
A digital alert informed them all that it was now new year's and with it, came that maturity he needed to get him over the line.
He picked a surprised Artemis up and said. "I should have done this a long time ago"
He kissed her and she kissed him.
Words could not describe how right it felt to both of them.
They broke apart and Artemis said. "Yes, we should have done this a long time ago"
They kissed again.
Best News years of their lives.
#A few hours later#
An envelope went through the letterbox and a woman with short orange hair said.
"I'll get the mail"
She walked to it and was surprised to see a large brown envelope.
She saw it was addressed to her and her husband oddly enough.
She took it and decided to open it and discovered stacks of pictures.
However, when she saw those pictures, she dropped the envelope in shock, causing the pictures to hit the floor and scatter.
Her mouth was open as her eyes frantically looked from a picture on her table to the pictures on the floor.
The same green eyes.
The same style of red hair.
The same red freckles when young.
The same face.
"R-Rudy" she squeaked before she yelled. "RUDY GET OUT HERE RIGHT NOW!"
"What is it, Martha?" Said the man. "I'm coming!"
The man appeared looking annoyed but when he saw what she was looking at, all thoughts left his mind and both of them stared together.
Mary and Rudy West found themselves surrounded by pictures of a person who could be their son Wally's twin brother but he clearly grow up and now he looked to be the same age as Wally this year.
There were also pictures of him as Kid Flash.
Mary shakenly took one as if it would vanish before her very eyes.
She took a picture of him, in a graduating gown for high school.
"I'll call Barry immediately," said Rudy. "He's got some explaining to do"
Who is this guy?
If it turns out Barry has been hiding their own son from them for years, then they would rip the man a new one.
And with that, Lex Luther had effectively ruined the beginning of the year for two Superheros.
