And now comes the showdown that the entire story had been building up to.

Chapter 16: Alastor vs. Pentious
(A rowboat casually comes out of the cave mouth and into the view of Seviathan and his soldiers. The boat appears to be carrying two figures wearing dresses and bonnets and holding umbrellas. Seviathan stares in confusion at them as his men aim their rifles at them.)
Seviathan: Hold fire.
(The boat rows past them towards the Dauntless. Moxxie and Millie are the ones in it dressed as women. Their job was to be the decoy while the others sneak onto the ship from the water. They hold umbrellas over them to block the moonlight. Millie stares ahead enjoying being in disguise while Moxxie sits behind her rowing and feeling humiliated.)
Millie: (smiles) This is just like what the Greeks done at Troy. Except they was in a horse instead of dresses. Wooden horse.
(Moxxie just grumbles they get further from the soldiers and closer to the ship. The other pirates climb the anchor chains from the water. On the other side, Lucifer goes to the cabin door.)
Lucifer: A moment, please?
(The guard steps away and Lucifer knocks on the door.)
Lucifer: (smiles) Charlie? I just want you to know... I believe you made a very good decision today... Couldn't be more proud of you. (frowns) But, you know, even a good decision, if made for the wrong reasons... could be a wrong decision.
(Charlie hears him from inside, but ignores what he's saying. She focuses on what she's doing. At the front of the ship, Baxter peeks over the rail and sees a few sentries patrolling the main deck. On the upper deck, a crewman spots something in the water and turns to Stolas.)
Crewman: Lieutenant?
(Stolas sees it too and looks through a telescope. He sees a rowboat carrying two figures with dresses and umbrellas coming their way. Millie waves and calls out from the boat.)
Millie: Yoo-hoo!
(Baxter gestures to the others to follow him. He quietly gets on board the deck with the others behind him. Some climb on the ropes tied to the mast. Lucifer hears no response from inside the cabin.)
Lucifer: (annoyed) Charlie? Are you there? Charlie, are you even listening to me?
(He opens the door and enters. Hanging from the cabin window are several bedsheets tied together leading down to the water. Charlie is in a small boat rowing away from the ship. The cursed pirates move across the ship sneakily. Travis sneaks up behind a soldier and slits his throat. Vortex strangles another and throws him down. They all move towards the upper deck. Lucifer looks out the cabin window and sees the bedsheets. Charlie is nowhere to be seen.)
Lucifer: (distraught) Oh, what have you done?
(Moxxie and Millie get closer to the Dauntless. Millie continues calling out to those onboard much to Moxxie's irritation.)
Millie: Whoo!
Moxxie: Stop that! I already feel like a fool.
Millie: You look nice, though.
(Moxxie starts fuming and stops rowing. He slaps Millie and starts strangling her.)
Moxxie: (furious) I look NICE!?
(The hassle causes them to drop their umbrellas and reveal their skeleton forms. They stop hassling and realize they're exposed. They look up at the ship's deck where Stolas lowers his telescope and stares at them in shock. Moxxie immediately pulls out his pistol and shoots up at him. The shot hits Stolas' hat and knocks it back. Everyone on the deck turns and sees the hat fly off just as the pirate crew in their skeleton forms approach them with their weapons out. The Royal Navy crew takes immediate action and draw their weapons. A big fight breaks out. The pirates kill some of the soldiers while the soldiers are unable to kill the pirates. Lucifer, upset that his daughter fled the safety of the ship, opens the cabin door to leave and sees the battle that has commenced. Horrified, he shuts the door and hides.)
(Back in the cavern of the island, Alastor examines some of the treasure that's not cursed. Vaggie stands nearby with a few pirates who stayed to guard her. Pentious sits at the bottom of the pile with the stone chest watching Alastor with an appraising look.)
Pentious: I must admit, Alastor, I thought I had you figured. But turns out, you're a hard man to predict.
(Alastor tosses an idol he was holding and faces Pentious.)
Alastor: (proudly) Me? I'm dishonest. And a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest.
(He casually walks up next to a pirate tossing stones in a shallow pool.)
Alastor: Honestly, it's the honest ones you want to watch out for.
(Pentious and Vaggie are curious by his words and watch him carefully.)
Alastor: Because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.
(Suddenly, he pulls the sword from the pirate's stealth and kicks him in the water. He tosses the sword to Vaggie who manages to catch it despite being surprised and having her hands tied behind her back. Pentious is caught off guard by this sudden action. Vaggie knocks the pirate guarding her down before he can react. Pentious stands up and glares at Alastor who grins back at him. The two captains draw their swords and square off. The third pirate tries to slash at Vaggie but she turns and lets his sword cut her hands free.)
(Now able to fight, she holds off the crewman while Alastor and Pentious duel fiercely. Alastor slashes at Pentious' hat and cuts off the big feather on it. He laughs as Pentious snarls. Vaggie turns to one of them who stands in a ray of moonlight coming through the cave and becomes skeletal. He growls at her but she remains unafraid and punches him hard. Alastor and Pentious clash as the ring of their swords making contact echoes throughout the cave. They cross swords and come face to face up close for a moment.)
Pentious: (menacingly) You're off the edge of the map, mate. Here there be monsters!
(Alastor pushes him off and they proceed to fight. Meanwhile, Charlie approaches the Black Pearl sitting off shore from the cave. She gets out of her boat and climbs up the side. She stops at a cannon hole and hears voices. Through the hole are two pirates who were left to keep watch over the ship while the others lift the curse. Unaware of everything that's happening, the two sit at a table on top of the cannon with a banquet set up on it.)
Pirate #1: What would you pick to eat first?
Pirate #2: We should decide now, so we're ready, when the time comes.
(Charlie sneaks past them and keeps climbing until she reaches the deck. It looks deserted until Al, Pentious' pet monkey, drops down in front of her in his skeleton form screeching. She's startled at first but glares at him intimidatingly. Al stops screeching and gets nervous. The two pirates down below are laying out the food when they hear a clanging sound.)
Pirates: What was that?
(They look out the hole and sees Al sitting on the cannon barrel sticking out. He looks dazed and slides off. Charlie looks down from the deck and sees him plummet into the water just as the pirates stick their heads out and see him fall too. She gets back as they look up at her direction. Then they run through the hold to get up top. Charlie runs into the hold and hides as the two pass her and head up to the deck and turn into skeletons. Charlie then runs down to the bottom of the hold where Alastor's crew is still locked in cells.)
Angel Dust: Shh!
(They hear movement and look out to see her coming to them.)
Angel Dust: (surprised) It's Charlie!
(The battle on the Dauntless rages on. Moxxie and Millie reach the ship and climb up the side. They enter through a gun port and get out of the moonlight reverting to their normal selves. Up above, a wounded crewman reaches the alarm bell and rings it as much as he can. The bell alerts the soldiers at the cave who see small flashes and hear faint gunshots coming from the Dauntless.)
Seviathan: (urgently) Make for the ship! Move!
(They start rowing back to it as fast as they can. A pirate kills the crewman and the bell stops ringing. Moxxie and Millie fire a cannon at the boats. They miss and the boats keep moving.)
Blitzo: To the ship!
Seviathan: Hurry!
(Lucifer peers through the window on the cabin door and sees the mayhem taking place. He hides as a dead crewman slams on the door and an undead pirate looks in. He backs away and screams as skeleton hands break through the glass. One of them grabs his big fancy wig and pulls it off his head. Lucifer has a tug-of-war with the hand over it. He takes a hull horn from a table and smacks the hand with it causing it to break off.)
(Back in the cave, Alastor and Pentious continue up to duel each other. They get up on a path leading to a cliff over looking the cavern. Both prove to be skilled in swordfighting. Pentious manages to knock Alastor to the ground. Then he drops his sword thinking the fight is redundant given that he's immortal.)
Pentious: You can't beat me, Alastor.
(Alastor jumps up and drives his sword into Pentious' torso. He is unaffected by it and sighs in annoyance. Then he pulls the sword out and stabs it into Alastor's chest. He smiles evilly as Alastor gags and stumbles back. He steps into the moonlight and his body suddenly becomes skeletal. Pentious smile drops and he stares at him on bewilderment. Alastor observes the new form he has taken.)
Alastor: That's interesting.
(Down below, Vaggie slams a golden bowl on a pirates's head and shoves him down. She looks up at Alastor and sees him as a skeleton. Her suspicion that he secretly stole a cursed coin so he could have a fair fight with Pentious was correct. Alastor holds up the coin and flips it through his fingers. He looks at Pentious with a big smile.)
Alastor: (teasingly) Couldn't resist, mate.
(He puts the coin away pulls his sword out of his chest. Pentious picks up his sword and angrily throws some smaller coins at him. He yells out and rushes at him. The two immortal captains resume their intense showdown. Vaggie continues to fend off the other pirates as she waits for the opportune moment like Alastor told her. Alastor defends himself from Pentious' attacks before kicking him to the ground. He rolls back down the path and gets up as Alastor attacks him now.)
(Seviathan and his men get closer to the Dauntless as the cannons fire at them. The crew on board fight off the pirates as best they can but are losing badly. Lucifer stands nervously in the cabin as the skeleton arm he broke off crawls towards him. He grabs a rolled up map from the table and beats the arm with it. He stuns it and picks it up. The arm tries to reach for him and he shoves it in a table drawer. The table rattles as the arm tries to get out. Lucifer backs against the table and struggles to keep it in.)
(Vaggie fights with one skeleton pirate in the moonlight. Another comes up behind her. She jumps aside as the first one attacks and causes him to stab the other. She gets behind the first as the second attacks her and causes him to stab the other. They both pause for a second with swords impaled in them before pulling them out and chasing after her. They run past the third pirate trying to get the bowl that Vaggie got stuck on his head off. Vaggie turns around and defends herself as they catch up.)
(Alastor and Pentious are still fighting it out. Their showdown has become more fierce as they clash in and out of the moonlight hitting each other but unable to do any damage. Pentious charges at Alastor and he steps aside to make him slam into a cave wall.)
Alastor: (mockingly) Sorry!
(He runs out to an opening on the ground. He turns as Pentious catches up and they exchange more blows. Alastor then slashes at him and throws him against a pile of treasure under the moonlight. Pentious turns to his skeleton form and glares at his opponent with exasperation.)
Pentious: So what now, Alastor Sparrow? Are we to be two immortals, locked in an epic battle 'til Judgment Day and trumpets sound? Hmmm?
Alastor: (smirks) Or you could surrender.
(Pentious lunges at him and they proceed to battle even more furiously. Alastor slashes at his foe who dodges and kicks him down. Alastor gets up and takes off as Pentious yells out in a battle call and slithers after him.)
A lot is happening all at once. Alastor makes the smart move of cursing himself to even the playing field against Pentious. And Vaggie goes along with it knowing he has a good plan.
The Royal Navy has to deal with the undead pirates which puts them at a disadvantage. And since he's not the all powerful overlord of Hell in this, poor Governor Lucifer is nearly helpless in the fight.
Also, the scene with Moxxie getting angry at Millie in the boat is a reason why they're just best friends and not a married couple in this since it'd just be spousal abuse.
