Bad Day At Black Rock

Third Person's POV

Inside a prison a lone hunter walked into the visiting room with prisoners on one side and the guests on the other, he walked in and took a seat picking up the phone that allowed the guests to talk to the prisoners and on the other side of this hunter was none other than Gordon Walker.

"It's true" the hunter said. "A Devils Gate was opened in Wyoming" Gordon looked up at those words. "Big, Saint Helena's big" the hunter showed Gordon a birds eye view of the cemetery that showed the rail way lines that showed a perfect pentagram. "There's no solid fix on how many demons got out but its in the hundreds, an army"

"Sam Winchester was there, wasn't he?" Gordon asked.

"Talked to a guy who knows a guy who knows Bobby Singer and yeah looks like the Winchesters were at ground zero when the gate was popped but Singer said they went in there to stop it" Gordon shook his head.

"Bobby's edge ain't what it used to be, Sam could have him believing anything by now" Gordon argued.

"Listen Gordon as far as talk goes, Sam Winchester checks out he's a hunter, that's all" the other hunter protested.

"That's all?" Gordan asked and the other hunter nodded while Gordon just laughed. "Kubrick, I'm not even sure he's human" he added and Kubrick laughs nervously. "You think I'm crazy, I told you there was a war coming six months ago, take a look around it's here now I'm telling you this boy is a part of it, track him down Kubrick…you'll come to see it too Sam Winchester must die" Gordon said before he hangs up the phone.

Evie's POV

I sighed once again listening to Sam and Dean arguing and was glad that Gray had become such a sound sleeper because they've been arguing non-stop over this for the past two weeks after Sam told us the morning after the hunt in Cicero that the same girl that had saved his ass on the Seven Deadly Sins hunt had been following him and revealed herself as a demon.

"…because demon that's why!" Dean snapped, I leaned my head against the side window since I've been trying to sleep for the past half an hour but they were adamant to continue arguing. "Because the second you find out this Ruby chicks a demon you go for the holy water, you don't chat"

"No one was chatting Dean" Sam argued.

"Oh yeah well why didn't you send her ass back to hell?" Dean asked him and I sighed sitting up since I wasn't getting any sleep any time soon.

"Because…" Sam began but stopped thinking for a second. "…because she said she might be able to help us out"

"How?" Dean demanded and Sam just rolled his eyes. "No really Sam how, how can she possibly help us?"

"She told me she could help you okay" Sam yelled back and I looked up more forcefully towards them, interest piqued. "Help you out of the crossroads deal" he added and Dean looked over like he couldn't believe that had just come out of Sam's mouth.

"What's wrong with you huh, she's lying you gotta know that don't you?" Dean argued and I sighed since although I wanted nothing more than to get Dean out of his deal he was right we couldn't trust this Ruby because all demons did was lie and use your weaknesses against you and it wasn't hard to guess that Dean was Sam's weakness, everyone knew you didn't mess with the Winchester's.

"He's got a point Sam, she knows your weakness is Dean and demons always use your weaknesses against you"

"What else did she say?" Dean asked him but Sam stayed silent. "Dude?"

"Nothing" Sam finally said and Dean turned giving him a look. "Nothing okay!" Sam exclaimed. "Look I'm not an idiot guys, I'm not talking about trusting her I'm talking about using her, I mean were at war right and we don't know jack about the enemy, we don't know where they are, we don't know what they're doing, I mean hell we don't even know what they want now this Ruby girl knows more than we will ever find out on our own, now yes it's a risk I know that but we need to take it"

"Your okay right, feeling okay?" Dean asked him.

"Yes I'm fine!" Sam snapped making me frown. "Why are you always asking me that?" he asked but a phone started ringing and Sam rummaged through his pockets for his. "It's not mine" he stated so Dean and I both checked ours.

"Nope" Dean said.

"Not mine" I frowned confused.

"Check the glove compartment, it's Dad's" Dean suddenly said pointing towards the glove compartment.

"Dad's?"

"Yes I keep it charged up in case any of his old contacts call" Dean replied as Sam opened it and grabbed their Dad's phone answering it.

"Hello?" he turned to Dean. "Yes this is Edgar Cayce…no, no, no don't call the police I'll handle this myself" I frowned wondering what the hell was being said on the other side of this call. "Thanks you know can you just lock it back up for me…great uh…I don't have my book in front of me-" he motioned for a pen and paper so I quickly got him one out of my hunters journal handing it to him. "Do you have the address so I-" he scribbled down the address. "Right thanks a lot" he hung up then turned to us. "Dad ever tell you he kept a container at a storage place?"

"What?" Dean asked him since it was the first time we've heard about it.

"Outside of Buffalo"

"No way" Dean argued.

"Yeah and someone just broke into it" Sam nodded and I sighed since we were off to Buffalo.

It was mid to late afternoon by the time we reached Buffalo arriving at the storage facility and were heading to John's locker getting in the elevator riding it up to the correct level that Sam had gotten over the phone.

"Man" Dean scoffed smiling.

"What?" Sam and I asked him.

"Just Dad, you know him and his secrets…spend all this time with the guy we barely even know him"

"Well we're about to learn something" Sam argued and I sighed pushing the stroller down the corridor after the elevator came to a stop and we found the right container and Dean lock picked it before lifting the roller door and we looked around from the door seeing various shelves filled with random stuff

"No demons allowed" I pointed out shining the night on the devil's ward on the ground right inside the door.

"Blood" Dean pointed out seeing a small pool of blood as well as footprints as we stepped inside. "Check this out" Dean said as he knelt down running his fingers lightly over a thin tripwire and Sam followed the wire finding to connected to the trigger of a shotgun propped up in a skull of some kind.

"Whoever broke in here got tagged" he pointed out and Dean scoffed again.

"Dear old Dad" he shook his head before looking back down at the bloody footprints. "I got two sets of boot treads here, looks like a two man job and how friend with the buckshot in him looks like he kept walking" he added as they stepped over the line, I picked up Gray out of the stroller before stepping over the tripwire as well.

"So what's the deal, your Dad would work out of here or something?" I asked them as we moved through the container.

"Living the high life as usual" Dean replied going over to the shotgun in the skull and chuckled as if admiring it before we moved to the back row where Dean picked up a small trophy of a filing cabinet. "1995" he scoffed reading the inscription.

"No way" Sam said turning and took it from him. "That's my division championship soccer trophy, I can't believe he kept this" I smiled since John cared about his sons and anyone could see that but them.

"Yes it's probably the closest you ever came to being a boy" Dean replied before he walked towards a desk behind us. "Oh wow" we turned and he picked up a shotgun. "It's my first sawed-off I made it myself…sixth grade" he laughed and cocked it making me roll my eyes looking down at Gray who was awake and looking up at me.

"You'll be waiting till your eighteen" I told him and Dean smirked over at me before we followed Sam through a gate that looked like it had been broken into since the chain was cut and it looked like it was the gun locker given the various guns and weapons hung on the walls.

"Holy crap" Dean whistled out moving his light across them all. "Look at this, he had landmines"

"Which they didn't take" I pointed out since that wasn't normal. "Or the guns" I added moving my light over all the guns since there didn't look like there was a single one missing cause we'd see that given the amount of dust built up.

"I guess they knew what they were after" Dean nodded.

"Hey check this out?" Sam spoke up so we turned and saw him looking at a bunch of locked boxes on one of the shelves. "See these symbols, that's binding magic"

"They're curse boxes" I pointed out remembering Dad telling me about them.

"Curse boxes, those are supposed to keep the evil mojo in right kind of like Pandora deal?" Dean asked and I nodded.

"Yeah they're built to contain the power of the cursed object" Sam explained further.

"Well Dad's journal did mention a whole bunch of stuff you know dangerous hexed items…fetishes, he never did say where they ended up"

"Yeah well this must be his toxic-waste dump" Sam replied before he noticed a spot on the shelves where there was no dust in a perfect shape that wasn't natural and he run his finger through the build up of dust around it. "One box is missing…great" I sighed nodding my head since we had to figure out what was in that box.

"Well maybe they didn't open it" Dean said trying to be optimistic.

"Do you really believe that?" I asked him.

"Excuse me for trying to be positive" Dean sighed.

"Let's check the cameras" Sam said and we nodding heading out locking back up since who knows when we might need this place now that we know about it and the boys pretended to be cops and they got to look at the cameras actually getting something since whoever robbed the container didn't even bother blacking out their plates and it wasn't hard to track down the car.

"Connecticut, last three digits 880" Dean read when we found the car parked in an alley.

"Yup that's it" Sam nodded.

"Should've blacked out their plates before they parked in front of the security camera" Dean sang and I scoffed shaking my head but couldn't agree more since that was just an amateur move.

Dean parked and they got out with me getting out as well but I had no intention of going up with them as we still had no idea what was in the curse box, I watched them grab their guns out of the weapons boot, Gray was asleep in his car seat so I pulled Dean aside.

"Be careful Dean, my Dad's told me about cursed objects and how dangerous they can be especially since we don't have a clue what was in that box so please I'm asking you to be careful"

"Don't worry about us Shortstack" Dean smiled and I rolled my eyes since he never took anything seriously.

"Dean-"

"I know…I know" he cupped my cheeks and pulled my head towards him planting a soft gentle kiss on my forehead. "We'll be careful, you just stay here with the little man" I nodded leaning up pressing my lips against his in a small chaste kiss before we walked away with Sam while I returned to the back seat.

Dean's POV

We followed the lead we had to the apartment room we got from the landlord downstairs after asking who that car belonged to and after flashing a badge he'd been none too glad to help out and Sam picked the locks before we walked in guns raised ready for anything since we had no idea what we were walking in on.

We could hear chatter and laughter coming from inside and they were talking about handing something over to someone which it wasn't hard to guess was the cursed object they'd stolen and we couldn't let that happen so we stepped out at that moment.

"Freeze, freeze nobody move!" I yelled brandishing my gun pointing it between the two men.

"What is this?" one of them asked as they raised their hands in the air.

"Alright give us the box and please tell me that you didn't-"

"Oh they did" Sam said cutting me off and I looked down seeing the box was open and whatever had been inside was gone.

"You opened it?!" I yelled rushing towards the one closest to me slamming him against the wall behind him.

"Are you guys cops?" the dude asked me.

"What was in the box?" I asked him cutting him off as he continued to ask if we were cops and the dudes response was to look over my shoulder at something on the table and I turned seeing something on the edge. "Oh is that it, it was wasn't it?" I asked turning back to look at him before back at the object in confusion. "What is that thing?" I asked and the dude used my distraction to knock my hand off him making me drop my gun and it went off with the bullet bouncing off various of things before hitting Sam's gun knocking it out of his hands before smashing a lamp inches from me.

We moved reaching to retrieve our discarded guns but these two guys moved for them as well and knocked into Sam who knocked into me and I went falling back straight through the coffee table sending the cursed object flying through the air while Sam apologized before being tackled, I turned and saw my gun and reached for it but the other guy beat me to it grabbing it and raised it to point at Sam right as I stood and he wacked me in the face.

"Dean!" I heard Evie yell out. "Sam!" I looked up seeing her rushing into the apartment with Grayson strapped against her chest in that sling thing of hers right as Sam disarmed the dude that was currently strangling him then kicked him back and he went falling back hitting his head.

"Dean!" Sam yelled getting too his feet. "I got it" he added right before the other guy pointed my gun at him.

"No you don't" he argued as I stood slowly watching as the other guy shook off his confusion grabbing the gun Sam had dropped right as the one with my gun pulled the trigger but my gun jammed making me frown especially as it continued to jam up but I didn't wait for him to fix it and stood only for the guy to trip backwards going over the back of the couch and knocked himself out.

Sam, Evie and I stared at each other in confusion before our eyes went over to the other one who was standing up but he grabbed the shelves above him and they fell sending books falling down knocking him down as he let the gun go and it went flying towards Sam who caught it effortlessly as if it was no big deal.

"That was a lucky break" I shrugged trying to explain whatever the hell just happened. "That a rabbits foot?" I asked looking down seeing the cursed object in his hand and he held it up.

"I think it is" he shrugged.

"No Sam!" Evie suddenly yelled out and I turned seeing her walk into the room. "Why would you pick it up?"

"What are you ranting about Evie?" I asked her.

"Don't you know anything about rabbits feet" she argued and I rolled my eyes.

"Should we?" Sam and I asked her and it was her turn to roll her eyes.

"You guys are idjits" she spat walking out. "Grab the box!" she exclaimed from the hallway so I picked it up on my way out and we went down to the Impala getting in and went to the nearest food joint to figure out what were supposed to do but I couldn't help not buying scratchy tickets and returned to the car where Sam and Evie were trying to find out more about this rabbits foot.

"I'm not finding anything on it in Dad's journal" Sam said when I hopped into the front seat and pulled out the dozen of scratchy tickets showing them to him. "Dean come on" he groaned seeing them and Evie looked up from her blackberry where I guessed she was emailing her Dad for answers.

"What?" I shrugged looking at him. "Hey that was my gun he was aiming at your head, my gun don't jam so that was a lucky break not to mention them taking themselves out also a lucky break" I added then held out one of the scratchy tickets towards him. "Here scratch one" he sighed hesitating. "Come on Sam, scratch and win" he sighed again taking it and I handed him a coin.

"Dean it's gotta be cursed somehow otherwise Dad wouldn't have locked it up" Sam argued as he scratched the wax off then handed me back the ticket without even looking at it but my eyes widened when I saw the amount.

"Twelve hundred dollars!" I exclaimed and both Sam and Eve looked over. "You just won twelve hundred dollars!" I exclaimed again looking over at Sam with a smile. "I don't know man doesn't seem that cursed to me" I argued and handed him another one.

"Just wait for it" I heard Eve mumble but I ignored her as I watched Sam continue to scratch away and win us a heap of cash.

Evie's POV

We were now standing outside of the Impala and I finally have my Dad on my the phone while Dean stood near the hood counting out the amount of the scratchy cards with Gray in his arms as I listened to my Dad tell me about this rabbits foot.

"We didn't know what it was Dad" I argued sighing deeply.

"And Sam touched it?" he asked. "Damn it Evelyn" I rolled my eyes.

"We both know John doesn't tell these boys anything and I wasn't there to tell them not to touch it" I argued. "I mean you knew about his storage in Black Rock?" I asked since he mentioned something earlier.

"His lockup…yeah I knew hell I built those curse boxes for him" Dad replied and my eyes widened since I remembered a few of them now that I think about it but I hadn't thought they had been for John. "Listen you kids have a serious problem, that rabbits foot ain't no dime store notion" he added as I looked up and saw Sam suddenly bend down picking something up then turned to Dean and I showing us a gold watch that he'd found on the ground making me frown. "It's real Hoodoo, old world stuff made by a Baton Rouge conjure woman about a hundred years ago"

"It's a hell of a luck charm" I sighed looking at Sam with the gold watch again.

"It's not a luck charm it's a curse, she made it to kill people Evelyn" Dad argued and I sighed since that was just perfect…I hate Hoodoo. "See you touch it you own it, you own it sure you get a run of good luck to beat the devil but if Sam loses it that luck turns, it turns so bad that you're dead inside a week"

"Well we just have to make sure Sam doesn't lose it" I argued looking up at Sam who'd came closer and had heard what I just said so he knew it was bad.

"Everybody loses it!" Dad yelled making me groan because this was just perfect.

"Well then how to we break the curse?" I asked him turning to Dean seeing him clearly attempting to count up the tally of how much money Sam had won.

"I don't know if you can, let me look through my library and make some calls, you kids just sit tight" Dad replied and hung up making me sigh and lower my phone.

"Dude were up fifteen grand!" Dean exclaimed holding up the scratch tickets excitedly.

"He's gonna get back to me but it's bad guys" I turned to the boys and walked over to Dean taking Gray off him. "If Sam loses that foot you really don't want to know what's gonna happen" we all shared a look before sighing and headed towards the restaurant to grab some food while we waited for my dad's call.

"Don't worry Bobby will find a way to break it" Dean added as we headed inside. "Until then I say we hit Vegas pull a little Rain Man" I scoffed rolling my eyes. "You can be rain man" he added looking back at Sam.

"Look we just lay low until Bobby calls back, okay?" Sam argued with him then turned to the waiter in front of us. "Uh hi, table for three please?"

"Congratulations!" he exclaimed making me raise an eye.

"Exciting I know" Dean remarked making me chuckle a little as the guy rang a bell then suddenly handed over a huge piece of cardstock.

"You are the one millionth guest of the Biggerson's Restaurant Family!" flashes went off as they took photos before balloons and streamers fell from the roof and I rolled my eyes since the rabbits foot was still working and for the fact the prize was free food for an entire year which Dean took advantage of as soon as we sat down and ordered while Sam got his laptop out and started digging further into the lore around the rabbits foot.

I was more focused on Gray though as I leant back and had him resting on my chest making faces at him trying to get him to smile seeing as he was six weeks old and should be starting to have real smiles but so far had gotten nothing.

"Bobby's right" Sam suddenly spoke up making me look up from Gray seeing Dean finishing off his sundae. "This lore goes way back...pure Hoodoo" he shut his laptop. "You can't just cut one off any rabbit, it has to be in a cemetery under the full moon on a Friday the 13th" he further explained but I could tell Dean wasn't paying much attention finishing off the last bit of ice cream in the bowl.

"I say from now on...we only go to places with Biggerson's" Dean said before groaning and holding his head meaning he had a brain freeze and Sam and I laughed at the sight shaking our heads at him.

"And that's why you should never eat ice-cream fast like daddy" I laughed looking down at Gray hoping it'd bring out a smile but nothing...he just yawned which told me it was time for a nap.

"Can I freshen you up?" a waitress suddenly asked walking up to our table with a fresh pot of coffee.

"Yeah, yeah sure" Sam nodded moving his mug to the edge of the table and she started filling it up while Dean turned to me and Gray making me smile before we turned back to the waitress when she over filled the mug before Sam and her started muttering when she tried cleaning it up.

"It's no trouble, sorry about that" she smiled at him before she turned and walked away and both boys leaned forward to watch her making me roll my eyes and kick Dean's leg underneath the table as they were clearly staring at her ass.

"Men" I spat out looking down at Gray again. "Don't ever become like your Dad you hear" again I got nothing, no smile but his eyes which had started to take on a bluish green.

"That's inevitable" Dean scoffed with a small laugh before he turned to Sam. "Dude, if you were ever gonna get lucky-"

"Shut up" Sam laughed cutting him off before he reached for his mug of coffee but it slipped out of his hands spilling all down his front. "Oh geez ah!" he stood up and ran straight into a waiter carrying a tray of food sending the poor guy and the food to the ground.

"How was that good?" Dean asked as Sam turned back towards us and Sam immediately reached into his pocket turning it inside out and my eyes widened...he lost it or better yet that waitress stole it. "Son of a bitch!" Dean exclaimed coming to the same conclusion and I didn't even scold him for the bad language as we got up and raced outside to catch up since she definitely wasn't a real waitress. "Come on!" we turned heading to the side but we just heard a thud behind us and we stopped seeing Sam had fallen flat on his face. "Wow you suck" Dean said so I hit his arm.

"Don't be an ass" I spat at him as I walked over and helped Sam up.

"So what his luck now turns bad?" Dean asked walking over and I sighed nodding my head since it would make sense given Dad said that when you lost the foot the person was dead within a week which meant we had to get the thing back.

"I guess" Sam replied and I looked down at the cuts on his knees before looking up at Dean.

"Wonder how bad" Dean said before we continued towards the Impala since we had to find those two idiots who stole it in the first place to find out who else they'd told about the rabbits foot to find out who this woman was. "Eve stay in the car"

"Why Sam's got the bad luck why doesn't he stay in the car?" I argued glaring at him since I didn't see why I had to stay in the car every time and was frankly getting very sick of it.

"Someone has to watch Gray" he shrugged. "And with Sam's luck right now he ain't a good choice to watch our son"

"Great so you stay in the car then" I shot back and he turned to me.

"It's not negotiable Evelyn"

"Like hell it isn't, it's not fair that I'm always the one sitting out" I pressed as we both ignored Sam calling our names and telling us to cut it out.

"Well that's your fault" Dean spat.

"Excuse me, how is it my fault?" I asked but he stayed silent and got out of the car. "Oh hell no" I growled out.

"Evie don't-" I ignored Sam and jumped out of the car.

"Come on Dean, how is any of this my fault...do you blame me for getting pregnant...for having our son because I wasn't the only one responsible for that-"

"I didn't see you complaining" he remarked.

"I didn't see you wearing a condom" I spat back right before I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned seeing Sam behind me.

"Guys come on do you really have to do this right now"

"Oh were not doing anything" I smiled grabbing Gray from him since although Sam was the only one we'd ever trust I didn't exactly like his chances right now. "We're going to talk to this guy" I started walking inside hearing the boys arguing behind me before Dean lost the fight and we all headed inside walking right in seeing one of the guys sitting with a photo in his hand and tipping perfectly good alcohol out onto the floor, we'd already heard the news of his buddy so it didn't come as a surprise the guy was in mourning.

"Oh man what do you want?" the guy demanded looking up at us.

"Heard about your friend, that's bad luck" Dean replied.

"Piss off" the guy drawled out.

"We know someone hired you to steal the rabbits foot...a woman" I spoke up.

"Oh yeah?" he pressed obviously going to play dumb. "How do you know that honey?" he asked and I rolled my eyes, I was literally holding a baby and he still thought it was a good idea to flirt.

"Because she just stole it from us" Dean cut in glaring at the guy especially when he laughed.

"Listen man this is seri-" Sam began but tripped over a power cord causing a radio to fall off the shelf behind him and when he tried to catch it he felt flying to the ground taking out a lamp on his way down.

"Sam you okay?" Dean and I both asked him without looking back.

"Yeah I'm good" Sam replied and in any other circumstance I might have actually laughed.

"I want you to tell us her name?" Dean went back to the problem at hand and took a step towards the guy.

"Screw you" he spat towards Dean as Sam got back up onto his feet.

"It wasn't a freak accident that killed your partner" Dean tried to reason with the guy.

"What?" he asked seemingly interested now.

"It was the rabbits foot" I supplied.

"You're crazy love" I rolled my eyes.

"You know I'm not, you saw what happened what it did all the flukes, all the luck when you lose the foot that luck goes sour and that's what killed your friend" I explained and he looked at us still seemingly like he didn't believe me even though the look on his face told me he was starting to.

"And my brother is next" Dean added. "And who knows how many more innocent people after that, now if you don't help us stop this thing that puts those deaths on your head" Dean added and I turned seeing his look. "Now I can read people and I get it, you're a thief and a scumbag that's fine but your not a killer...are you?" the guy shook his head then told us the bitches name before we left heading out of the building right as my phone started ring.

"Hello?" I answered it.

"Evelyn great news wasn't easy but I found a heavyweight cleansing ritual that should do the trick"

"That's great Dad except Sam uh..." I turned around to face Sam and saw him lift up his shoe seeing he'd stepped in someone's filthy gum. "Sam lost the foot"

"He what?!" he exclaimed and I sighed right as Dean grabbed my phone out of my hand making me glare at him.

"Bobby listen, listen this uh...this hot chick stole it from him" I rolled my eyes at him. "I'm serious she was in her mid-20s and she was sharp you know, good enough with the con to play us" I yanked the phone back before he could say any more.

"She only gave the guy she hired a name, probably an alias or something...Lugosi"

"Lugosi?" Dad asked. "Lugo...ah crap it's probably Bela"

"Bela Lugosi" I scoffed since that sounded ridiculous.

"Bela Talbot's her real name, crossed paths with her once or twice" he argued and I frowned trying to remember him mentioning this chick before but nothing came to mind.

"She knew about the rabbits foot, is she a hunter?" I asked him looking up at Dean who was looking at me with an exasperated look since he got just as annoyed by not hearing part of a conversation as I did so I sighed and put it on loudspeaker.

"Pretty freaking far from a hunter but she knows her way around the territory, she's been out of the country last I heard she was in the middle east someplace"

"Well I guess she's back" Dean replied.

"Which means seriously bad luck for you" Dad added and I sighed.

"Great" I spat annoyed.

"But if it is Bela at least I might know folks who know where to find her"

"Thanks Bobby...again" Dean replied.

"Just look out for your brother you Idjit" Dad replied before hanging up and I laughed flipping my phone shut sharing a look at Dean who rolled his eyes for being called an Idjit before we turned towards Sam who looked up at us with a pout.

"What?" I asked him.

"I lost my shoe" Sam said and we looked down at his feet seeing he only had one shoe on, Dean sighed shaking his head walking back to the Impala.

"We'll get you new ones" I told Sam before following after Dean getting Gray strapped in as Sam followed getting into the front seat before Dean drove to the first nearest motel and on the way I'd got another call from Dad with a location on Bela.

"Alright my Dad's got it on a pretty good authority that this Bela chick lives in Queens"

"It'll take me about two hours to get there" Dean added.

"So what are we doing here then?" Sam asked him.

"You my brother are staying here because I don't want your bad luck getting us killed" Dean replied and Sam gave him a look as we drove into the car park and checked into a room with Dean opening it so Sam didn't touch or do anything.

"What am I even supposed to do Dean?" Sam argued as we walked into the room, I flipped on the light.

"Nothing, nothing come here I don't want you doing anything" Dean replied pulling on Sam's arm and pulled a chair from the table. "I want you to sit right here and don't move alright, don't turn on the light, don't turn off the light, don't even scratch your nose" Dean added before he walked out and I watched Sam wiggle his nose as if it started itching because Dean said something.

"Just...be careful Sam" I warned him and he nodded before I followed Dean out seeing him waiting in the car, I couldn't lose Sam knowing that when Dean went to hell we were gonna need each other, I couldn't lose both of them, I sighed pushing down those thoughts as I settled Gray into his car seat before getting into the front seat and Dean started driving.

When we made it to Queens I gave him directions to the address Dad had given me before we headed up to the luxurious building quickly taking note of the security cameras and moved fast slipping past them and Dean made quick work of the locks heading in with me staying just outside the door listening in in case he needed me, it was silent for a few minutes before I heard a couple of guns cocking and rolled my eyes deciding the Bela bitch was gonna be a right pain in the ass.

"You left without your tip" I heard Dean say and rolled my eyes. "Your gonna give it back"

"Sweetie, no I'm not" Bela laughed.

"Yeah we'll see...it's Bela right?"

"That's right Dean" Bela replied and I frowned wondering how the hell she knew his name.

"You know the things cursed, don't you?" Dean asked her.

"You'd be surprised what some people would pay for something like that" Bela argued and I raised an eye leaning further to hear better wrapping an arm around Gray holding his sleeping form against my shoulder.

"Really?" Dean pressed.

"There's a lucrative market out there, a lot of money to be made" I frowned since this woman sounded so posh and...English. "You hunters with all those amulets and talismans you use to stop those big bad monsters, any one of them could put your children's children through college"

"So you know the truth about what's really going on out there and this is what you decide to do with it?" Dean asks her. "You become a thief?"

"I procure unique items for a select clientele" Bela argued.

"Yeah a thief" Dean scoffed.

"No...a great thief" she argued again and I rolled my eyes having enough of this chit-chat but knew it was how Dean was getting the foot by distracting her.

"Look Bela, my brother he touched the foot and when you took it from him his luck went from-"

"I know how it works" Bela snapped cutting him off.

"So then you know he's gonna die unless we can destroy it"

"Oh...you can have the foot..." Bela replied but I knew straight away by her tone she wasn't gonna give it back. "...for 1.5 million"

"Nice yeah I'll just call my banker" Dean remarked. "How did you even find the damn thing, stuck in the back of some storage place middle of nowhere?"

"I just asked a few of the ghosts of the people it had killed, they were very attuned into it's location"

"So your only out for yourself huh...it's all about number one?"

"Being a hunter is so much more noble?" she spat back and I glared getting ready to walk in having enough of the back and forth. "Bunch of obsessed revenge-driven sociopaths trying to save a world that can't be saved"

"Wow aren't you a glass half full" Dean shot back at her.

"We're all going to hell Dean might as well enjoy the ride" Bela argued and I frowned since she could've chosen different words that didn't resonate so deeply.

"I actually agree with you there" Dean agreed making me sigh. "Anyhoo this has been charming but uh...look at the time...oh an uh this, looks like your not the only one with sticky fingers" I smirked knowing he had the foot. "If it's any consolation I think you're a truly awful person" Dean added and that's when I heard three gunshots go off and I momentarily panicked until I heard Dean's laugh followed by more gunshots before he was out the door.

I rolled my eyes as we ran downstairs with me getting into the back quickly buckling Gray in before Dean was pulling away and we were driving back to Sam so that we could finally destroy the damn thing before Sam ended up killing himself but about half way Grayson decided he wanted to fuss a lot and nothing I did was calming him down.

"Do I need to pull over?" Dean asked looking back at us every few seconds from the road.

"No, no we have to get back to Sam he's probably just hungry" I sighed searching through the back of the car which was really starting to become a mess with baby junk.

"Well feed him" I looked up to glare at Dean.

"I'm trying to find the breast pump so I can feed him!" I yelled at him which only caused Gray's cries to get louder.

"It's in the back there" he pointed to the other side of the back seat so I reached over and grabbed it along with the baby bag pulling out the pacifier and tried to get Gray to take it but he was just not in the mood so I started pumping straight away filling up a bottle as fast as I could. "Could you hurry, he'll make himself sick"

"Will you shut up, this isn't a quick process you know and I can't just pour it out like water" I sighed since our arguing was just making things worse and I don't even know why we were arguing. "Okay baby boy it's coming" I unscrewed the bottle which was just over half full deciding it was enough then screwed the cap on and shook it just a little before offering it to him but he was too worked up to realize what it was. "Hey, come on baby boy enough okay...it's food" I pushed the bottle towards him again, I know he favored breast feeding inside and hadn't quite taken to the bottle and I'm pretty sure that was the issue because he was so worked up.

"I'm pulling over"

"Dean drive, I can do it" I spat at him but he was already pulling over and I rolled my eyes but as soon as he was stopped I put the bottle down and pulled Gray out of his seat and pulled down the straps on my singlet top and unclipped the feeding bra again getting him to latch which took a few tries before he finally calmed down and nestled his head into my breast before latching and started drinking.

"Finally" I heard Dean mumble, I sighed not biting back and just leaned back closing my eyes since I was tired...I've been tired a lot lately and knew it was from all the stress being I barley slept what with getting up during the night with Gray since the boys for being hunters happened to be able to sleep through his cries and for the fact I couldn't sleep without being plagued by nightmares of Dean being dragged to hell. "I'm taking the night shift tonight" Dean suddenly spoke up making me open my eyes and lift my head off the back of the seat.

"What?"

"Your exhausted Eve and I know I haven't really been pulling my weight with Gray so after we deal with this rabbits foot I'll take the little man and you can get some rest, or go out if you want and just have some time for yourself, you haven't spent more than an hour away from him since he was born and I know it's taking a toll on you...I can see it"

"I'm fine-"

"Your not fine" he cut me off shaking his head at me. "I know you, I can see it and I promised you that I would help out, he's my kid too and it's time I started spending more time with him before..." he trailed off and I frowned looking down at Gray.

"I...I don't think..." I shook my head playing with Gray's hand which was wrapped around my finger, I loved the idea of Dean spending time with Gray but in the end none of it would matter...Dean was going to hell and Gray was going to grow up without ever knowing his father, all he'd ever know is the photos and even then there weren't many since we didn't really stop and take photos a lot.

"Let me do something for you Evie, let me spend time with Gray" I sighed taking note that Gray had finished so I moved him up on my shoulder and lightly patted his back.

"I'm fine" I repeated ignoring his look right as Gray let out a burp making me smile at how adorable it sounded before I sat him back in his car seat and strapped him in giving him his pacifier and tucked the blanket around him before I nodded at Dean signaling he could drive again and he did without protest.

We parked in front of the room getting out but instead of hearing silence we heard two other voices that definitely wasn't Sam in the room and rolled our eyes as Dean silently opened the door sneaking in behind the two men that had Sam tied down in a chair.

"...it's destiny" we heard one of them say.

"Nope not destiny" Dean spoke up alerting them to our presence. "Just a rabbits foot"

"Put the gun down son or your gonna be scraping brain off the wall" the guy with the gun pointed at Sam said and I glared at him clutching Gray close to my chest since we hadn't expected to have company when we got out of the car.

"Oh this thing?" Dean asked with a smug look on his face holding his gun up.

"Yeah that thing" the guy smiled nodding his head.

"Okay" Dean replied putting his gun down on the table next to him and I sighed moving behind the wall for cover knowing this was gonna get ugly seeing Dean's cockiness. "But you see there's something about me that you don't know"

"Yeah what would that be?" the guy asked him turning towards Dean pointing his gun.

"It's my lucky day" Dean remarked and right as I peeked around the corner I saw him toss the pen in his hand and it went right into the barrel of the dudes gun. "Ha oh my god, did you see that shot?!" Dean celebrated and I rolled my eyes right as the other guy charged at Dean who only just stepped to the side a tiny bit and the guy tripped on air hitting the wall behind Dean knocking himself out. "I'm amazing" nope just cursed I wanted to remark but he picked up the remote and tossed it towards the guy knocking him out as well as Sam stared at him in shock. "I'm batman" Dean laughed in a deep voice and I rolled my eyes again before I came out and went over to Sam.

"Yeah your batman" Sam agreed.

"Uh don't fluff that overextended ego Sammy" I complained and saw Dean's expression drop a little as I quickly put Gray down on one of the beds and ripped the tape that kept Sam tied to the chair freeing him then I picked Gray back up and we got the hell out of there heading to the closet cemetery to get rid of this rabbits foot once and for all but of course Dean had to make a stop and pick up more scratchy cards.

Sam and I got to woke making a small fire letting it burn to just the embers before I read out the rest of the ingredients which of course we were lucky enough to already have in the car only having had to pick up the cayenne pepper while Dean happily scratched away leaving the work to me and Sam, Gray was asleep peacefully in his stroller off to the side a little.

"Alright, bone ash, cayenne pepper that should do it" I said adding the cayenne pepper before standing upright and brushed my hands on my jeans.

"One second..."

"Dean" Sam warned since the sooner we did this the better before something else went wrong or those guys caught up to us.

"Hey back off jinx, bringing home the bacon" Dean cut him off and I rolled my eyes before he walked to his jacket which was hanging over the tombstone behind him and he put them in his jacket pocket. "Alright...say goodbye rascally rabbit" I scoffed at his Elmer Fudge impression as he held up the foot over the fire ready to drop it in but a gun cocked behind us and we all spun.

"I think you'll find that belongs to me" I frowned recognizing that voice and could finally put a face along with it...Bela. "Or you know...whatever" we all just stared at her. "Put the foot down honey"

"No" Dean argued straight away. "You're not going to shoot anybody, see I happen to be able to read people okay you're a thief fine but you're not a-" before he could finish that sentence a gunshot rang out through the air and I felt the pain in my shoulder sending be jerking back with the force. "Son of a-"

"Back of tiger" Bela warned stopping Dean from doing anything. "Back off, you make one wrong move and I'll pull the trigger" she added and I saw Dean looking back and forth between Bela and me as I clutched my shoulder biting my lip against the pain of actually being shot since it's been a while. "You've got the luck Dean, you I can't hit but your girlfriend and your brother, them I can't miss" I glared at her especially when Gray started crying clearly woken up by the gunshot and I saw her eyes move to the stroller and Sam immediately moved towards it glaring at Bela as well.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Dean demanded after looking back at me before he turned to glare at Bela. "You don't just go around shooting people like that"

"Relax it's a shoulder hit I can aim" Bela argued. "Beside who here hasn't shot a few people?" I sighed keeping a tight pressure on the wound feeling the blood trying to pool out around my fingers. "Put the rabbits on the ground now"

"Alright, alright take it easy!" Dean demanded holding up his hands in surrender slowly lowering himself to the ground. "Think fast" he quickly said and threw the foot towards her and she caught it on reflex.

"Damn" she whispered out glaring daggers at Dean.

"Now what do you say we destroy the ugly-ass piece of dead thing?" he asked her and she had no choice but to agree and dropped the rabbits foot into the fire.

"Thanks very much" she spat in Dean's direction. "I'm out one and a half million and on the bad side of a powerful psychotic buyer"

"Wow I really don't feel bad about that" Dean spat at her. "Evelyn?"

"Nope" I spat glaring at her. "Not even a little bit" I added and she smirked a little starting to walk away before pausing leaning on the tombstone.

"Maybe next time I'll hang you out to dry"

"Oh don't go away angry...just go away" Dean remarked and I rolled my eyes turning to see Sam with Gray in his arms and wished I could hold my baby right now but with my wound bleeding I didn't want to get any on him.

"Have a nice night" she smirked finally leaving and I sighed pulling the bandana I was using to help stop the bleeding to inspect the wound seeing the bullet was still lodged in the wound which meant a nasty removal before Sam could stitch it up.

We waited until the rabbits foot was completely burned up since I wasn't dying with the bullet still lodged inside my shoulder then when it was properly destroyed we put the fire out and started walking back towards the Impala with Dean pushing the stroller with a calm Gray sleeping inside given Sam had lulled him back to sleep while Sam carried the shovel and I was still holding the cloth to my shoulder.

"You alright?" Dean asked.

"I'll live" I spat.

"I guess were back to normal now huh?" he asked and I scoffed. "No good luck, no bad luck...oh" he suddenly smiled reaching into his pockets. "Forgot we're up $46,000, I almost forgot about the..." he trailed off reaching into his breast pockets before frowning and reached into his other one. "...scratch tickets" he looked up coming up empty before we heard screeching tires and turned our heads seeing a car speeding away before Sam and I turned back to Dean as he came to the correct assumption...Bela, she'd taken them when she leant on the tombstone. "Son of a bitch!" I rolled my eyes at the swearing and for the fact this Bela chick had been able to do that without us noticing.

"Whatever...let's go I need to get this stitched up" I said walking towards the Impala getting into the back letting my head slump back against the seat.

"Don't you dare go to sleep Shortstack, not until we get that stitched up" Dean spoke obviously strapping Gray into his seat, I just nodded with a murmur. "Evelyn"

"Okay, I'm okay" I said opening up my eyes and he sighed nodding my head before he closed the door and got into the drivers seat and started to drive to the closet motel where they could stitch me up.
