Her ragged breath filled the air.
Her face was written with despair.
"Pyra!" a terrified voice yelled from the darkness.
"Rex! Where are you?!" The girl yelled back in response, a bit of hope seeming to attach itself to her cry.
"Pyra! I-I need you!"
Pyra, the Aegis, used her flames to try and light her way through the darkness and look for her driver, Rex.
However as she continued forward, her eyes widened.
The bodies of her comrades who helped her and Rex, were scattered on the ground.
"Nia, Morag, Zeke...no..."
Cores of their blades were next to them.
"Py-PYRA! PYRA! PYRA! PYRA! PYRA! PYRA! PYRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Rex's yells filled Pyra's ears as tears continued to flow.
She dropped to her knees and began wailing.
Slowly, her flames were extinguishing.
Slowly, the darkness began to surround her.
Rex's lifeless head rolled to Pyra's knees.
Reality shattered for the once legendary blade.
A sinister wind began to surround her as a voice said, "Do you realize how weak you are?"
The voice continued, "Do you realize that, no matter the title you bear, you are nothing."
"I...am...the aegis..."
"Are you stupid? You are the Abyssal Blade of Darkness, Pyra. You are the mighty warrior of Dharkon. Without him, you are nothing. A mere heavy piece of iron...do you understand?"
Pyra slowly raised her head.
"No...I am nothing...I am nothing..."
"That's correct, you are nothing...but Dharkon...he is your everything...right?"
"Dharkon, is my everything?"
"Correct,"
Out of the darkness, a figure emerged.
One that resembled her beloved.
Her Rex.
"I am your everything, right?"
Pyra slowly stood up, constantly transforming between her current form and Mythra.
"You...are my everything. I, am nothing."
From Rex's mouth oozed blood.
Taking his thumbs, he smeered a bit of the blood and made marks on Pyra's eyes.
Her eyes slanted a bit and seemed like she was out of it.
She had a killer's smile.
A smile that carried itself from ear to ear.
A smile that showed no teeth, but just the bare lips.
"Pyra, Mythra, my magnificent nothings, please bring forth eternal darkness."
"Yes...my beloved."
As the darkness was overtaking the two, they shared a kiss.
