The Daily Zeus
OPINION: Serious This Time? I Think Not.

Lord Zeus, God of the Sky, King of the Gods,
has promised yet again that Lady Hera, Goddess
of Marriage, Queen of the Gods, will be his one
and only. But can the ladies' man keep his promises?
Zeus's marriage to Hera has long since gone stale.
Made thousands of years ago, Zeus now wears
pinstriped suits and has a new name of Jupiter,
but his lust for women has never changed. He can
make promises of change, but gods don't change.
They're immortal deities for a reason. What's more,
Zeus has made these promises to Hera before. How
can she trust him after all he's done to her before?
And can he trust her?
Zeus and Hera are the King and Queen of the Gods,
that's true. But their beginnings weren't quite so pretty.
Zeus tricked Hera into marrying him, but couldn't even
stay faithful. Perseus, Dionysus, and countless others
are results of this broken vow. To appease his wife,
Jupiter handed over his son Jason and Zeus named
Heracles after her. Children of Zeus are often hated by
Hera, who sees them as the fruits of her husband's
conquests. Heracles was driven mad and forced to do
twelve labors, Jason Grace was taken from his mother
and sister, and what's more, for a time, children of Zeus
were bad omens. Forbidden by an oath on the River Styx,
an oath broken by Zeus not once but twice, does Hera
even need another reason not to trust her husband this
time around?
Zeus swears that he'll be faithful this time. But loyalty
obviously isn't the King of the Gods' strong suit. Protected
from the consequences of oaths on the River Styx due to
his godly status, will there even dawn a day when Zeus
keeps his vows? Athena, Artemis, Apollo, Dionysus, Hermes,
a few of the many immortal repercussions of his time with a
woman, all show that that such a thought is futile.

Oh-kay. So, here we go. This is my Camp Jupiter: War Games submission for the Newspaper Routes Challenge. It is, obviously, an article about Zeus's infidelity.*
P.S.: Zeus, please don't strike me down...you are the best god ever!
