Hey. So, today's Thanksgiving, in the U.S. of A., and so here's a special Thanksgiving-themed prompt from the Camp Jupiter: War Games forum's The Holiday Season Challenge. So here I am, with this prompt. Happy Thanksgiving!

On this Day:

The rainfall that day was Annabeth's first warning. It said, don't go out, and Annabeth had a hunch that was probably the smart thing to do. And she was a daughter of Athena, smart was what she was about. After all, what Thanksgiving dinner would invite Annabeth? Her dad's and Helen's, with Bobby and Matthew and the extended Chase family? Erebus would freeze over before that happened, and Hades was a pretty warm place. She wouldn't want to intrude on the Jackson family- it was Estelle's first Thanksgiving. Percy and Sally and Paul were having a Jackson-Blofis family meeting, and Annabeth, while invited, had declined.

So Annabeth didn't go out, even when Piper called.

"Beth, what are you doing for Thanksgiving?"

"Sitting in my apartment, why?"

"It's Thanksgiving, why are you in your apartment alone?" Annabeth shrugged, before realizing Piper couldn't see her.

"I don't feel like celebrating. Besides, Thanksgiving is sorta overrated. There was no peaceful sit-down, everything you're told is a lie. Why celebrate it?"

Piper was silent. "Thanksgiving is a lie. There was no peaceful gathering, sure, but I'm going to take Thursday off and have dinner with my family." she could hear Piper shrug over the phone. "Why? Because here, it doesn't matter if Thanksgiving was some sort of pilgrim thing, because it's a day for family, Annabeth. Now you go to Percy's, or I'll drag you to mine."

Annabeth knocked on the door of the building, smiling softly as the door opened. "You came!"

"Yeah, I did."
