"Wrenpaw! Wrenpaw! Wrenpaw! Wrenpaw!"
The Clans cheer rang out across the clearing the pine trees genitally rustling in the breeze above. " I cant believe it! i'm an apprentice" Wrenpaw thought to herself out-loud." No more being dependent on Bellaleaf and Rabbitleap it's time for me to be more independent.
"Clan meeting dismissed"
As Leafstar dismissed the meeting he clan began to separate going back to there regular activities. Wrenpaw bonded to greet her parents " great StarClan! i'm so proud of you!" Bellaleaf nuzzled Wrenpaw proudly Well Rabbitleap starred proudly. " All take you on a tore of the territory come on now lets get going then.
"What wait where going now!" Wrenpaw squeaked in excitement "Well ya Hawkwing put me on the dawn patrol so your coming with me" she couldn't believe she was going to see the SkyClan territory on her first day. Wrenpaw and Rabbitleap padded threw the clearing to join the dawn patrol being led by Sandynose along with Nettlesplash, Harrybrooke, Dewspring, Fringewhisker,Quailfeather, and Rootpaw.
The patrol walked across out of camp heading towards the ShadowClan border the forest the rays sunlight shining threw the dense canopy of trees the cry's of birds ran out in the morning late greenleaf.
"Hey congratulations Wrenpaw" Rootpaw strolled along side Wrenpaw " i,m sure you wish your siblings where with you right now" Harrybrook gave a sympathetic meow " Harrybrook don't be so insensitive!" Sandynose yelled at Harrybrook. " What i'm just trying to be nice i lost my siblings to you remember that you lost your siblings to write?" the gray tom retorted.
Wrenpaw's heart shivered at the thought of her siblings Darkkit and Mudkit she knew the memory of her litter mates hung over her apprentice ceremony like a thick cloud of fog hanging eerily over a calm lake. When Wrenkit Darkkit and Mudkit where born they where very early and Mudkit and Darkkit only lived for a few moments. The loss wasn't only devastating for Wrenpaw's parents but all of SkyClan to make things worse Tree had claimed that Darkkit and Mudkit were watching over Wrenpaw.
Thinking about Tree made Wrenpaw shiver as much as she knew that Tree's ramblings came from a honest attempt to give Wrenpaw and her parents feel better but it freaked Wrenpaw out to think of the fact that ghosts were watching her every moment of her life.
Wren still had nightmares about waking up in darkness to the eyes kits staring at her motionless soulless pure white eyes staring straight into her core Wrenpaw always tried to look away but the eyes followed her no mater witch way she tried to looked away. Then the eyes would move closer and closer and the eyes talked they moved closer saying " Why did we have to die? why did we have to die"
Wrenpaw often woke up crying from the nightmares in the middle of the night Bellaleaf spent Hours consoling Wrenpaw.
"Wrenpaw Wrenpaw Wrenpaw you ok?"
Wrenpaw's thoughts were interpreted by Rootpaw Wrenpaw realized that the hole patrol was watching her.
" Oh great StarClan!" Wrenpaw jumped in surprise. "Oh its nothing Rootpaw i'm just thinking of my litter mates that's all"
As they continued to walk Wrenpaw could see Rootpaw's blue eyes flash with empathy. " Look Wrenpaw i'm uh sorry about the things that my dad said about Mudkit and Darkkit i know that it really scared you"." Look Rootpaw it's fine you don't have to apologize for it i know that Tree was trying to be nice he thought that it would make me feel better."
Wrenpaw and Rootpaw raced up the cliff to see how could reach the top first where Quailfeather and Rabbitleap were marking the SkyClan and ShadowClan border."
Hey what are you doing?" near the border a ShadowClan patrol were marking there territory.
Wrenpaw muscles tensed at the ShadowClan cats she knew that ShadowClan and SkyClan were on good terms since they had offed ShadowClan refuge when the kin nearly drove them out of existence but the sight of the ShadowClan patrol made her uncomfortable.
Both patrols stood awkwardly waiting for the other to make the first move the tensity made Wrenpaw want to disappear back into the safety of the camp.
" Hello there ScorchFur how's ShadowClan been doing? Nettlesplash was the first one to speak up " things are going well we were just marking the border as i assume you are to" The dark gray tom replied calmly.
" Very well then will be on our way then come on SkyClan lets get going" Sandynose spoke up and the patrol began to move on.
As the patrol continued Wrenpaw felt calm surrounded by the great pines swaying in the breeze as they walked a cold breeze swept across Wrenpaws golden tabby pelt the first cold wind of Leafbare.
