Flamepaws point of view
The wind howled across the clearing kicking up snow in Flamepaws face. Flamepaw sat underneath High Stone with Baypaw where they could get some protection from the wind." This snows never gonna end" Baypaw wined snow kicking up in his face" I guess theirs just snow way out from the snow" Baypaw laughed he loved to make stupid puns but he was always the only to laugh at them.
" Baypaw Baypaw get over here now!" Mousewhisker called out from the warriors den. " Ugh do i have to Mousewhisker what do you want" Baypaw groaned.
" The fresh kill piles gone we need to go hunting Squirrelflight ordered you to go" Rising to his paw Baypaw shook the snow of his pelt before bounding of to find his mentor " You to Flamepaw Lilyheart wanted you to come to" Flamepaw's green eyes shined with annoyance as he bounded after Baypaw.
The hunting patrol consisted of Thornclaw,Mousewhisker, Lionblaze, Poppyfrost, Lilyheart,Sparkpelt,Stormcloud,Plumstone,Baypaw, and of course Flamepaw. Flamepaw looked over to see that the fresh kill pile was in indeed empty. The patrol set out into the blizzard the wind howling across Flamepaws face.
He knew that the patrol had to catch pray the clan needed to eat especially the elders and Cherryfall who had moved into the nursery expecting Stormcloud's kits. the forest seemed empty in the blizzard most of the pray would have buried themselves in their dens. Flamepaw stalked across the snow coming to a stop beneath a oak tree his green eyes focused onto a burrow he shot forward claws outstretched he pined down a vole.
" Great catch Flamepaw!" Lilyheart complimented holding a mouse in her jaws Flamepaw buried his vole before joining the rest of the patrol.
" We only caught a few voles and mice that's not enough to feed the Clan! Stormcloud whined " I have kits on the way" "Calm down Stormcloud it's gonna be okay why don't we try hunting along the lake shore we mite have better luck down there" Thornclaw suggested " That sounds like a good idea lets try that" Lionblaze agreed.
The patrol set of through the snow heading down towards the lake shore. The lake was frozen over except for the center witch would soon freeze over to Flamepaw was able to dig up a frog that was hibernating under i pile of leaves under the snow. The frog tasted disgusting but Flamepaw would take what he could get.
As Thornclaw had predicted the patrol had better luck down by the lake shore catching several voles mice Squirrels frogs toads and Plumstone and Baypaw even caught two dead fish at the lakes center. As Flamepaw and Baypaw where barring there pray Flamepaw noticed something up in the tree line.
It looked like a fox but it seemed far to big to be a fox it appeared to be sniffing around looking for prey Flamepaw could make out that it had a grayish color. Lionblaze noticed the creature to his amber eyes widened with terror" Flamepaw, Baypaw get back now!" " What why what is that thing?" Baypaw asked. " That's a wolf there they dangerous"
As Flamepaw backed away to join the patrol the wolf turned its head up its yellow eyes piercing through the snow clearly sensing there presence letting out a low growl. " Flamepaw! Baypaw! behind us" Flamepaw darted behind the adult warriors the wolf let out a loud snarl before charging at the patrol.
The wolf lunged at the patrol Flamepaw and Baypaw rolled out of the way of the wolves snapping jaws bating its muzzle the wolf yelped in pain kicking Flamepaw out of the way sending him realign into the snow Plumstone and Sparkpelt lunged onto the wolfs pelt clawing at it the wolf rolled over crushing Sparkpelt and Plumstone under its weight.
Sparkpelt and Plumstone staggered to their feet the wolf snapped at Plumstone trying to grab here in its jaws.
Thornclaw lunged onto the wolfs head the wolf snapped its jaws down on Thornclaw's leg Thornclaw shirked in pain the wolf tossed the golden brown tabby tom sending Thornclaw flying into the bushes.
The wolf turned its sighted on Flamepaw tipping its head down and barreling at him Flamepaw jumped to dodge but he wasn't fast enough, Flamepaw felt a surge of pain as the wolf slammed into him sending him flying he slammed into a oak tree trunk blood pooling in his mouth.
With the wind knocked out of him Flamepaw could only watch as the patrol drove of the wolf sending it running of to lick its wounds.
" Flamepaw! Flamepaw! great StarClan Flamepaw are you okay!" Sparkpelt rushed to her son blood tripping from a gash on her flank." Ye ya i'm fine" " Flamepaw your bleeding" " Its okay mom" Flamepaw staggered to his paws blood tripping from his mouth to join the rest of the patrol
Finchpaws point of view
" The patrols taking a long time hope there okay" Myrtlepaw sighed pacing across the clearing the snow had finally stopped as the sun began to set beneath the trees painting the sky a pinkish orange
" Don't worry Myrtlepaw there just talking a long time hunting they need to hunt a lot of pray to feed the clan" as calm as Finchpaw tried to appear to Myrtlepaw Finchpaw was worrying about Sparkpelt and Flamepaw, Finchpaws thoughts where interrupted by Lionblaze exploding through the camp entrance.
" Bramblestar there's been a accident" Finchpaw sprang to her paws to see what happened. "We where attacked by a wolf we managed to drive it off but we were injured in the processes" "A wolf i,v never seen a wolf around here"
The hole patrol was injured all having gashes along there body's Thornclaw was barley able to walk and needed help from Plumstone and Stormcloud to walk.
Finchpaw and Myrtlepaw rushed to Flamepaw and Baypaw the black tom was bleeding from the mouth and Baypaw had a long gash on his face.
" Flamepaw Baypaw are you okay" " Ya i,m fine its just a couple battle wounds" Baypaw gave a faint smile " At least i have a cool battle scar."
" Cats of ThunderClan from now on i forbid cats from going out of camp alone" Bramblestar's yowl echoed from high rock.
" You should go to the medicine den" Finchpaw suggested watching nervously as Flamepaw and Baypaw trotted over to the medicine den.
