Dandelions
CS AU
They're parents were friends since college, this lead Emma and Killan into a friendship since they were little; they were always together, always on the same class, always on the same places.
As they grew up their bound became stronger and in Junior High Emma asked Killian to attend the prom together, he agreed and something between them changed that night. after that night Emma realized she was screwed up, she was having a crush for her best friend and he couldn't do anything about it. In Highschool things didn't changed much, they were together in all the classes and of course they were together all the time.
Killian was the funny one and Emma was the shy but cool one, they were the perfect couple or that's what Emma liked to think.
What Emma loved about Killian it was that he was unique and she loved the way her name sound every time he said her name, also Killian was a man of adventure with a perfect smile.
One day after school they were at his home playing video games .He was losing but he didn't care, he was too focused in other things and Emma was happy so he was happy.
"You are losing, you never let me win, Jones "Emma spoke, breaking the spell he was in.
"I uh…I'm not too focused on the game today, sorry" he said.
"I noticed that, but why?" she asked dropping the controller next to her.
"Remember Milah?"
Of course she remembered Milah , she knew about Milah since Killian started playing for the baseball team.
He used to talked about her all the time and Emma wasn't blind, he was falling for her.
"Yes, why?" her heart was beating fast.
"Well… I'm going to ask her out" her heart stopped beating for a moment.
"Oh… I see…" He immediately noticed that something that something was wrong with her.
"Hey… what's wrong?" he asked concerned.
"Nothing" she immediately replied.
After an "awkward" conversation about how Killian should ask Milah out, Emma took a deep breath and that's were Killian realized that Emma had more than just friendship feelings for him.
"Emma… I – "
"No… It's okay I get it" she said with a frown
"Swan I swear I didn't know"
"YOU DIDN'T KNOW?!, I HAD FEELINGS FOR YOU FOR A WHILE"
He was just sitting quietly, looking at her.
"sometimes you had to let go the one you love" after she said that she left.
6 months passed and they hadn't spoke once, things with Milah didn't work out and one day after the fourth period Killian tried to speak to Emma but she shut him out.
After that, Killian started working on a plan to get Emma to speak to him, he thought on leaving cards on her locker but knowing Emma he knew that she would throw them away, so he came in with the great idea of speaking to Emma's parents to take her on a ride, of course her parents said yes.
And that's how Emma ended up in Killian's car
"I'm not talking to you" she said
"I don't spect you to talk to me "he said looking at the road
In an attempt to break the silence Killian played some music on the radio and it start playing I Want You Back, Kilian start humming and dancing he was so lost in the moment that he didn't realize that Emma was singing and dancing too
"I thought that you didn't dance" he said, she immediately blushed.
"I don't dance" she said
After the song stopped playing Put Your Head on My Shoulder started playing right after it, Killian started singing and Emma was looking at him, Kilian noticed that Emma was looking at him and he parked on the side of the road and turned the volume up.
He opened the door and rush to Emma's side and he opened the door.
"What are you doing?! "she asked a little confused
"Swan I know I've made mistakes and I know that I may have broke you heart but know I realized that I was just trying to hide all the feelings that I had for you, feelings that have been there ever since that night that we went to the prom together and the truth is, Emma, that I'm not longer capable of hiding them and I must ask you, would you put your head on my shoulder?
She was looking at him with tears on her eyes with a single tear running down her cheek as she put a smile on her face and spoke with a soft yet calm voice.
"Killian I've know you since we were kids and I have never knew someone like you" she got out of the car and put her head on his shoulder, they danced until the song ended, but before getting into the car again he gave her a little peck on her lips.
Killian took her to a quiet place and after some time walking they found a field of dandelions, he went down to pick one of the dandelions and he said
"I've heard that if you blow one of this and ask for a wish, the wish can come true" and he handed her the dandelion, she smiled and closed her eyes and then she blew the dandelion.
"What did you wished for?" he asked
"It's a secret, it would not become true if I told you what I wished for" He didn't push her and he took her hand and they keept walking.
After that excursion they agreed that they would never hide their feelings again for each other, they start dating and they were together for ever.
Years later they were getting ready for bed, and his last thought before falling asleep was
maybe love does come once in a lifetime.
