Yay! Another update! Since Rey and Kade were connected through the Force last chapter, I like to think that Kade was the one getting the visions and that Rey was just along for the ride. I do not own anything Star Wars, just my characters.
"What do you mean, 'an awakening'?" Kade shook her head.
"Someone who is Force sensitive, but didn't know 'til adulthood, has started to tap into their power."
"Who?"
"Her name is Rey."
"That girl you were talking about? I know you can see things, Kade, but why do you keep seeing this girl?"
"I don't know. I do know that we have some kind of connection, otherwise I would't be seeing her all the time."
"I've only ever see you have that sort of connection to the Commander, never a stranger." Kade nodded her head agreeing, just as her eyes turned white.
…Today is the end of the Republic! The end of a regime that acquiesces to disorder! At this very moment in a system far from here, the New Republic lies to the galaxy while secretly supporting the treachery of the loathsome Resistance. This fierce machine which you have built, upon which we stand, will bring an end to the Senate! To their cherished fleet! ALL REMAINING SYSTEMS WILL BOW TO THE FIRST ORDER! AND WILL REMEMBER THIS, AS THE LAST DAY OF THE REPUBLIC!…
Kade let out a loud gasp as she leaned onto Narah.
"What did you see?" Instead of answering, Kade took off out of their room with Narah on her heels. Leia's advisors and Lt. Connix watched them, confused but following, as the two women made their way outside. Kade stopped once she was outside and looked up at the sky, as one of Leia's generals walked up to her.
"What is the meaning of this, Miss Valorous?"
"Their weapon is ready." They all stared at her, but looked up when multiple streams of red made their way across the sky. Kade fell to her knees as the beams struck multiple planets, destroying them. Destroying the entire Hosian System. Kade fell forward as sobs wracked her body. Narah knelt down next to her.
"Kade, what's wrong?"
"Billions…billions of voices…crying out in fear…and then nothing." Narah pulled the sobbing woman into a hug, and glanced back at the advisors looking at Kade.
"Kaydel." The lieutenant walked over to the two women.
"Yes."
"She's almost hysterical, I need your help to get her back to our rooms so I can check on the twins." Connix nodded and helped to get Kade upright. The three of them headed inside, but were stopped by the general who spoke to them earlier.
"One moment, we need to know how she knew about the weapon." Narah glared at him.
"This woman is in emotional distress, general, and if I don't make sure she's okay her and her unborn children could die. And besides, we don't answer to you so BACK OFF!" They left a squabbling general behind as Narah and Connix safely got Kade to their rooms. Once the door closed, Kade started pacing, trying to calm herself down.
"I never thought I would experience something like that in my entire life." Narah put a hand on her arm and guided her to her bed.
"Lay down, I need to check on the twins." Kade nodded as Narah pulled out her stethoscope and placed it on her bump.
"Are they alright?"
"Their heartbeats are a little fast, but I'm guessing they felt the same thing as you." Kade nodded.
"Thank you, Narah."
"What for?"
"For keeping Leia's advisors away. I know they'll have more questions now, and I have no idea where to start." Narah rubbed her arm.
"What are best friends for?" Just then, someone knocked on their door.
"Come in." Connix opened the door and peeked her head in.
"The advisors want to see you, Kade." Narah shook her head.
"Let me give those people a piece of my mind." Kade chuckled as Narah left, and started yelling as soon as the door closed. Kade took a deep breath as his voice entered her mind.
"What happened, I felt you were in distress?"
"I felt the Hosian System be destroyed." He was silent for a moment.
"Kade…I'm sorry."
"I know."
"Are the twins okay?" Kade rubbed her bump, feeling both babies kick her hand.
"They are now; I think they felt all the emotions I was feeling, and it scared them a bit. Where are you?"
"Almost to Takodana."
"Be safe."
"I will, you too. I love you."
"I love you, too." Kade leaned her head back, letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding. She stood up on shaking legs, but managed to walk out of the room to Narah still telling off the advisors.
"…Just how do you think it's okay to scrutinize a heavily pregnant woman?…" Kade cleared her throat as Narah stopped, and nodded to her that she was okay. She turned to the advisors.
"You have questions." The general, looking guilty, looked at her.
"You have to understand; you say that the enemy's weapon is ready seconds before it destroys the Republic, and that you are somehow alive after five years…we're a bit weary."
"I do understand. But you also have to understand that I am one of the last two Jedi in the entire Galaxy, and I am weary of every single person in this base aside from Leia, Poe, Kaydel, and Narah. I have had to hide for five years, how do I know that one of your people won't somehow let the First Order know that you have a 'Jedi Secret Weapon' that will turn the tide of this war? Not only would that put my life in danger, but also the lives of my unborn children and I will not risk their lives so you can win." The general nodded and walked off. Kade let out a breath as Narah and Kaydel patted her on the back.
"Well said, Kade."
"Yeah, about time someone put him in his place." Kade chuckled as her head began to hurt. She started to rub her temples as Narah put a hand on her shoulder.
"You okay?"
"My head…" Kade started as a vision overtook her.
…Maz's castle destroyed…
…Han and Chewie firing at storm troopers…
…Finn fighting a trooper with Luke's lightsaber…
…Rey firing her blaster at Kylo Ren…
…Kylo Ren forcing his way into her mind…
Kade shook her head to get rid of the vision.
"I think I should lie down, that one took a bit out of me." Narah and Connix took her back inside her room to rest, and left her alone. Kade walked over to the window as all sound disappeared.
"Aren't you surrounded by First Order staff?"
"They think I'm watching over the scavenger silently." She looked up at him.
"You went into her mind." He nodded.
"You saw?"
"Saw it…and felt it."
"What do you mean?" Kade shook her head as she took his hand.
"I felt a headache building before the vision. And then I saw you looking through her memories."
"How?" She let him go and started pacing
"I don't know. I've never met her before in my life. I've been seeing her recently in visions, but I have no idea why she and I have this connection."
"Take a breath…" He held her shoulders while she took a few deep breaths.
"Thank you." He kissed her forehead.
"You're welcome. I have to go, I love you." He vanished before she could say it back, not that she needed to. Kade continued to pace her room, wondering about this connection. The only other time a Force connection like this ever happened, that she could recall, was when the two people in the connection were…Kade let out a small gasp.
"Family".
O.M.G! BOMBSHELL! Anyway, since Kade is a powerful Force user, and is carrying two Force sensitive children, she would have felt the destruction of the Hosian System SO MUCH more than a normal Force user. Thank you for reading this chapter, please leave a comment/review and stick around for more!
